The next day, I hoped to talk to Bella, and find out why didn't she like me. If getting her to like me was my way out of this movie, then that was what I had to do. I pulled into school, waiting to see if I could see her arrive in the parking lot.

I saw the Cullens arrive. Emmett was riding on top of a Jeep. That seemed to be dangerous, but I didn't think much about it. I noted that Rosalie, Elena, and Jasper were also there but no Bella. Where was she? Had I really scared her off? Did she really hate me when I hadn't even done anything to her? I had to find out why she wasn't here. This was weird because I had never really taken the initiative in well…anything. I would have to go a little of my comfort zone.

So, in my English class, I decided to talk to Elena. It was a little hard not to think of her as Emma, but she wasn't Emma Roberts, she was a character who just happened to look like Emma Roberts.

"Um hi." I greeted her. I knew a lot of people didn't talk to the Cullens, so people might have thought that I was crazy. I was pretty sure that they were reclusive because they were vampires, but they seemed to be mostly normal. She was also very pretty up close. I could tell that I was still attracted to girls.

"You want to know where Bella is, don't you?" She asked. I wondered how she knew what I was going to say. It was a little bit weird. Though, I supposed she may have noticed that I noticed that Bella wasn't here.

"Yes." I replied. I wondered if she knew what else I was going to ask her.

"Bella is out sick today." Elena responded. I was pretty sure that vampires couldn't get sick, so there must have been another reason that she wasn't telling me. Unfortunately, it would probably be a while before I found out what that reason was. I sucked being the person that wasn't supposed to know that vampires existed because it meant that I would have to pretend that I didn't know anything. Of course, I wasn't thinking about that at the moment. I was really only thinking about Bella.

"Is she going to be okay?" I asked. I hoped that I sounded convincing.

"She'll be fine. Our father is a doctor, and he just thought it would be best if she missed a couple days of school. She should be back by Monday." The Cullen girl answered. I was a little disappointed that I would have to wait that long to see her, but I supposed there was nothing else that I could do. "She also feels bad for how she treated you yesterday. She's not really like that. She'll probably talk to you about it when she gets back."

"That's good to know." I commented. I was pretty sure that she would talk to me if I was her love interest.

"Though I think, it would be a good idea if you weren't friends, I can't tell you what to do." She said as she began to pay attention to the teacher. I guess that was her way of saying that she was done talking to me. I couldn't help but wonder if I was going to become friends with her. I knew in a lot of movies the main character becomes friends with their love interest's siblings.

The weekend wasn't really that exciting. I didn't really do much because I didn't want to go out in the rain. I could see why the vampires liked it, but it really wasn't great for the rest of us. The one thing that I did do was going out to a meal with Charlie. There was only one restaurant in town, so I didn't really have a choice on where we went. I thought about driving around a little, but I didn't really want to mess with the wet roads. I probably wouldn't get hurt because that would ruin the plot, but I didn't want to take a chance.

So, it was a couple days before Bella returned to school. Not much had happened in that time frame. My group of friends had decided to invite me to go the beach at La Push this weekend. I was unaware that there were beaches in Washington. I was wearing one of the sweaters that Jessica bought me along with a skirt and tights. I was pretty sure that I was feeling compelled to dress a certain way because when I tried to put on jeans, my mind went back to thinking how the skirt would look.

"Would we be swimming?" I asked. I was also a little bit nervous about going to the beach. I supposed that I wouldn't have to wear a swimsuit, but that would make it a little boring.

"Probably not." Angela answered. I didn't know if I would wear a swimsuit. "It's more for the feel of the place and there's some whale watching."

"But if you wanna wear a bikini, I wouldn't object." Eric piped in. Even if I wore a swimsuit, I didn't think I would be able to wear a bikini because I knew that all of the guys would be ogling me, and I really didn't want that. Angela hit him in the arm. I let out a bit of a girlish giggle when I saw that. "Ow."

"There's also surfing." Jessica added. Well, that didn't really help me. "Do you know how to surf?"

'You can't really surf in pools." I remarked. I was pretty sure those were the only places to swim in Arizona. I had also personally never tried surfing. "I've never been close enough to the ocean to learn."

"I could teach you if you want." Mike offered. What would it take for him to know that I wasn't interested? Had I ever been like that towards a girl?

"Thanks, but I think I'll pass." I replied. I noticed Bella was talking to her family about something. I figured it would be best to wait until biology to talk to her. I ran several different scenarios of what would happen in my head. I also couldn't help but wonder what Bella's voice sounded like. I didn't know who the actress who played her was, so I didn't have any idea what she sounded like.

I walked to the biology lab and found that Bella was back in her seat. I took my seat next to her. I actually saw her smile at me.

"Hey." She greeted. Her voice was soft and beautiful. It was a little low. If I ever got out of here, I would need to find out what other movies this actress was in…also her name.

"Hi." I reciprocated. I figured that was the best thing to say. I was a little at a loss for words because of how beautiful she was. This was the total first really meeting the love interest moment of the movie.

"So, listen, I wanted to apologize for what happened the other day." Bella said. I didn't say anything because I wanted to listen to everything that she had to say. I also didn't know what to say to her. "I was sick, and I reacted very rudely toward you. Can you forgive me?"

"Can I ask what you had?" I questioned. I had to act like I didn't know she was a vampire, and I was a little curious what her answer would be.

"I had a cold, nothing too serious." She replied as I noticed that her eyes were golden. Did vampires' eyes change color or something?

"Did you get contacts?" I asked. That would be the logical reason for someone having different-colored eyes.

"Pardon?" She countered. She seemed like she had been caught off-guard by and probably thought that I hadn't noticed.

"Your eyes were black the other day and now they're golden." I explained. I didn't know why I brought it up because I was pretty sure that she was going to lie to me.

"It must have had to do with the lack of light." She responded. "So, we're going to be studying onions today."

"How do you know that?" I asked. I also wondered how exactly you studied onions.

"I overheard the teacher talking it earlier." She replied. That could have been true because most vampires from the stories had super-hearing.

Bella ended up being right, we were studying the different phases of mitosis in onion cells. I had no idea of how we would ever use this in the real world. I wasn't going to study biology and most people who did were probably going to be doctors or veterinarians, neither involved observing mitosis in onion cells to my knowledge. We also hadn't done that in my Biology class at the university.

"So, my friends invited me to the beach this weekend, do you wanna come?" I asked. I wasn't sure if she would go to it with me.

"Which beach?" She questioned. Was there more than one? I supposed maybe we could drive farther but I still didn't think that there were very many beaches in Washington. Maybe it would be a good idea for me to look at a map sometime to know what the area was really like.

"La Push." I remarked. She didn't look very happy when I said that.

"I can't." She answered. There was probably a plot-specific reason why she couldn't, but I wanted to know what she would say.

"Why not?" I asked.

"My family and I don't get along with the locals." She explained. I decided to drop it at that. There was probably something plot-significant to that, but I knew that I likely wouldn't be finding that yet out.

"So, I'll see you tomorrow." I remarked started to head out to the parking lot.

"Yeah, I'll see you too." She added. I supposed that I was wrong. This wasn't going to be the type of movie where we hated each other at first. I was a little relieved because I didn't know if I could act that way towards. Trying to act like a girl was already hard enough, even though I was pretty no one questioned anything.

As I was walking out, I noticed a glazed look in her eyes. That had to be some kind of vampire thing.

"Are you okay?" I asked. I waved my hand in front of her face, but it was like she was in a trance. It only lasted a few seconds though.

"I'm fine." She remarked. I was a little curious as to what just happened. "By the way you might want avoid Division Street."

"I'll keep that in mind." I replied as I went out to my truck. I was a little bit confused. I wondered how long it would take for me to figure everything out. I also knew that it wouldn't pass in movie time, and I would actually have to wait out the number of required days in order to find out the answers. That actually kind of sucked when I thought about it.

On the way home, I noticed that there was a pretty bad wreck on Division Street. Luckily, I had learned a few alternate routes to get home. But I couldn't help but wonder how Bella had possibly known about it ahead of time. Did she have more than some of the standard vampire things?

The next day, it was raining, and Bella decided to talk to me once we got done with class. I supposed that we were going to be friends before we dated. I was pretty sure that was another common thing in movies.

"So why did you move to Forks of all places?" She asked. I supposed it was a valid question because it didn't make sense for anyone to want to live in such a small town.

"It's a long story." I replied. I tried to remember how it went.

"I can keep up." She responded.

"Okay so my mom got remarried." I responded.

"And you don't like the guy?" She asked. I was a little annoyed by her interrupting me because it made it a little harder.

"No, that's not it. Phil's really nice." I stated. I remembered his name. I hadn't spoken to him though, but I had heard that he was nice from Renee. "He just plays baseball and travels a lot."

"So, what teams has he played for?" She asked. I did know that he wasn't that good of a baseball player.

"Well, he's never really made the majors." I pointed out. He was in his 30s already, so he probably didn't have that much time left. "Anyway, my mom always stayed home with me. So, I volunteered to move here rather than Jacksonville."

"The weather's definitely a lot nicer there than it is here." She stated. I imagined it was but then there would be no movie. I also wondered if I was ever going to get to go there.

"Yeah." I concurred. "So, I need to go but I'll see you on Monday I guess."

"Yes, I should be here on Monday." Bella agreed as she walked away.

I walked out to my truck and began to dig through my backpack before I got in. I then heard the sound of tires screeching. I looked up to see a large van being driven by Tyler that appeared to be out of control. And it was coming straight toward me. I tried to move my feet, but I was frozen in fear. I thought it was possible that I could possibly die because I didn't know how you became a vampire in this story. Though, it probably wasn't likely because I was pretty sure that it was still early in the movie. I would probably be fine, but I still couldn't move.

So, I was surprised when I felt nothing. I only heard what appeared to be a door crushing. I opened my eyes and saw Bella kneeling beside me. Her hand was pressed against Tyler's door, and it left a huge dent in the van. So, vampires were still superfast and strong. That was a good thing to note. I had to at least act like I was surprised by it.

"Are you okay?" She asked as I nodded incredulously. I couldn't really find any words at the moment because it was still crazy to see.

I then heard the sound of an ambulance and Bella leapt away in a rush. Apparently, she did not want to talk to the police about what happened.

"Alice, are you okay?" Tyler asked after he got out of the car.

"Um yeah." I said before I fainted. Why did I faint? Was I really in shock even though I knew she was a vampire?

The next thing I knew I was in the hospital. I must have been brought there. There was an extremely attractive doctor in front of me. I didn't know if I was personally attracted to him, but he was still attractive. He looked familiar. I might have seen the actor in something before, but I wasn't sure what.

"Hello, Alice. I'm Dr. Cullen." He greeted me. Okay, so he was a vampire too. It was kind of surprising that a vampire would be a doctor. That didn't seem like the best career path for one of them.

"What happened?" I asked. I actually wanted to know what happened.

"You appear to have suffered a mild concussion." The doctor replied. Had I hit my head on the truck or something? I didn't feel anything like that happen.

"It would have been a lot worse if Bella hadn't showed up when she did." I replied.

"Right." He responded. He seemed like he had something to say but didn't say it.

Before he could say anything else, Charlie rushed over and hugged me. He threatened to take Tyler's license away. Well, he was probably driving too fast in a wet parking lot.

"Good afternoon, Chief Swan." Dr. Cullen greeted him. I wasn't aware that the two of them knew each other.

"Is she going to be okay, Carlisle?" Charlie asked. I knew that I would be because I would have been injured worse if I was going to be injured.

"She should be fine. The x-rays turned out negative." Carlisle replied. "You can always bring her back here if you need to."

So, Charlie filled out that paperwork to get me discharged. As I waited. I noticed Bella and Rosalie were talking to each other.

"You almost exposed us." I heard Rosalie say. She obviously didn't want me to know that they were vampires.

"You know I have to protect her, Rose." Bella countered. Rosalie looked like she was going to say something back but then she noticed me and said nothing and walked away.

I thought about trying to go over to her right there, but I was also pretty sure that I wasn't supposed to find out yet. One thing that I did know was Bella had saved my life. I also hoped that I wouldn't have to do anything for her in return.

I was getting a little bit anxious. I wanted to just kiss Bella already. Wait, why did I just think that? Was my mind starting to turn into this character?

So we got to meet Elena and also Bella in this chapter. Also Alice is starting to notice some changes to her personality. Is she going to fully change or not?
