C16: Thoughts Of Dad And Mom.
James's father, Drake, was a great Dad, a wonderful role-model and a good setter of examples when it came to him. He never saw him drunk or high or smoke cigarettes, he never saw him with a beer or any other kind of alcoholic drink. Nor had he kept any alcohol drinks stored here in the cabin. Same went for cigarettes too. He didn't even go to any clubs or wild parties or dump James off on others for some "Me time", as most parents do today. He was the living definition of what a good parent should be.
The same could be said about his mother, Ebony, as well. He never saw her high, drunk or with a beer or any other alcohol drink either. She was a terrific mother...and a good leader...until Christmas Eve-1998. Ever since then, she had been on a never-ending war path that seemed to have no end in sight. For her to be able to bounce back from this, it would take more than Christmas.
It would take a miracle.
With all of the children in bed for the night, James headed back downstairs to join Bonny and the rest of the family.
