I release a strained laugh. "While I love everything you just said, is there a reason you chose now?"

"Today is important to you," she says softly, referring to the schematic design presentation I have later this morning. "And I want you to know that you're important to me. I love this life we're building, and I worry I haven't made that clear."

I smash my lips to hers.

Hard and fast.

"You have." Softer kiss. "It's in the little things, and you show me every single day."
