Chapter 10

Kakarot woke the next morning feeling refreshed, and happier that he was able to tell Chi-Chi what was going on. He still worried about them but at least he didn't have to pretend, even though he wasn't all that good at it.
He got out of bed and dressed in his signature orange Gi, now featuring Whis' logo.

"hey, I'm going to train with Vegeta, okay?" Kakarot says

"Of course" Chi-Chi replies

"I'll have my phone with me" Kakarot says waving it a little "If you need anything, let me know."

"Okay, I'm sure we will be okay though" Chi-Chi says with a smile

"I'm sure you will" Kakarot replies "But I'm not taking any chances. If you see that bastard, tell me. You can't miss him. looks like me but definitely doesn't act or dress like me."

"Don't worry. I'll keep an eye out for him." Chi-Chi says

"Good" Kakarot says "He won't hurt you for as long as there is air in my lungs and my heart beats. Be safe, I'll see you soon."

Kakarot leaves, heading straight for Beerus' planet.

Upon arrival, Kakarot notices that Vegeta is already there. He had been training with Whis since Beerus was asleep again.

"Ah, Kakarot, you're here" Whis says greeting the Saiyan.

"Sorry I'm a little late" Kakarot says apologetically "I was just making sure Chi-Chi was all set before I came."

"I'm guessing you told her then?" Vegeta asks

"I did attempt to hide it and pretend it was fine until I found the best way of telling her about it, but apparently I'm no good at that. She saw straight through me!"

"How'd she take it?" Vegeta asks "I can't imagine all that well considering."

"Honestly, far better than I expected her to" Kakarot admits "A lot calmer than I expected her to be. I assumed she'd threaten to slap the shit out of him if she saw him, but no! Though, if she does come across him, she might still do that."

"Well he did pick up on 1 or 2 of your traits, maybe he'd be scared of her!" Vegeta laughs

"Hah, imagine that!" Kakarot laughs "An immortal being terrified of a human woman."

"I'm the prince of all Saiyan's and I'll still back off when she loses her shit" Vegeta replies with a laugh

"I live with it" Kakarot jokes "But truthfully, I do hope that if he returns, she doesn't try kicking his ass. She's feisty, and strong in her oen right, but nowhere near his strength!"

"I'm sure she'll be fine" Vegeta says "She's smart enough to know better."

"Have you forgotten about the time she lost her shit on Buu and literally berated him for several minutes?" Kakarot says trying not to laugh

"Huh...Good point." Vegeta says with a laugh "She's got balls, I'll give her that! Next, we'll find her ripping the shit into Black!"

"That would be a sight to see!" Kakarot laughs

the 2 Saiyan's had a laugh at the thought before getting into training.

They both attempted to attack Whis at the same time, but the angel was too swift for them and dodged their attacks with very little effort, letting his own Ultra Instinct do the work for him.
Kakarot was aware of the hit he landed on Whis, he was sure to try and do it again. Though, he wondered if Whis let him land the hit.

He remembered the last conversation he had with Whis, he remembered Whis mentioning why he believed Kakarot landed the hit.
Whis told him that he felt he let go of all his fears and thoughts about his limitations, his fears, the gap in their powers. How Kakarot focused his mind on the battle at hand.
Kakarot reminded himself that he needed to treat Ultra Instinct as a technique, not a transformation. Whis told him the transformation should be a last resort when he needs that extra boost in power. He needed to learn to use Ultra Instinct in his base form. Kakarot believed if he could learn to use it in his base form, he may be able to apply the technique while using his other transformations.
Kakarot focused his mind, letting go of his current fears about Black, the safety of his family, Frieza, all of it. He focused on what he was doing right now. He calmed his mind as much as he could. he let all those fears burn and did what he had to do.

He focused on the task at hand, training. He refused to transform, even when Vegeta went Super Saiyan, he would not give in. He did his best trying to calculate Whis' every move, what he'd do next, where he'd go. It was tough, as even Whis didn't calculate his own moves. They just happened. Whis noticed the Saiyan was somewhat distracted by his thoughts, and used his staff to smack him in the abdomen.

"Cheap shot!" Kakarot groaned

"You're thinking too much, Kakarot" Whis says "Let it go, let your body do the work for you."

"It's what I've always done" Kakarot admits "It's a Saiyan's nature to be this way."

"If you want to truly master Ultra Instinct, you need to be able to let go of all your thoughts" Whis explains "I know it's hard for you, it's different to what you're used to, but you must do it if you want to master it. Think like a Saiyan when the time calls for it, but you need to let go of that when the time calls for Ultra Instinct. Merus taught you well, but you need to remember to let your body do the work for you, to think for you. That's what Ultra Instinct is. You can do it, Kakarot, we've all seen you do it, you just seem to forget sometimes, but you can't forget. Let your body lead you. Your body knows what it can handle, it knows the limitations. Your mind can follow behind, enhancing the technique."

"Looks like I will surpass you!" Vegeta taunts

"You need plenty of work too" Whis says turning to Vegeta

"Huh?!" Vegeta looks surprised

"You are learning the technique Beerus uses, the destruction technique." Whis says "You need to be able to think like a Destroyer God in order to fully master it. Until you do so, you won't master it"

"In order to do that, I would need to revert to my old ways." Vegeta says "The way I was when I worked under Frieza. That's not me anymore."

"Then you need to find a way that works for you" Whis says "But you need to have the mindset of a Destroyer God to fully utilise the technique."

"But, how?" Vegeta asks

"You must be willing to destroy whatever you face, but within reason." Whis says "Even the likes of Lord Beerus has limitations on what he can destroy and why. That's why I am here. I make sure that he only destroys within the set limits given to him, but as long as he's within those limits, he can destroy what he wants, who he wants and whenever he wants. If someone or something threatens the universe, you must be willing to destroy it, no questions asked."

"So I just need to go into a fight with the intentions of destroying them, regardless?" Vegeta asks

"Something like that" Whis answers "Of course, Lord Beerus can explain all that a bit better when he wakes up, but you do need to work on gaining the right mindset, and once you do, you'll be able to master the technique."

"I think I can do that" Vegeta says confidently

"I'm sure you can." Whis replies "you've both come this far, and you've done well in doing so. I believe you both can master these techniques if you try. You both need to find the way it works best for you, and once you do, you can achieve it."

"I have to do this, I will" Kakarot says "For my family."

"Good" Whis replies "That's what I want to hear. It takes you that one step closer to mastering Ultra Instinct. You must be willing to do what it takes. You can't master something you're not willing to put all your effort into. When you both leave, have a think about what you think would work best for you to utilise these techniques and how far you're willing to go. Understanding your place and where you need to be will help you go forth with a clear goal at hand and where you want to end up."

Both Kakarot and Vegeta were willing to change and adapt to master the techniques being taught to them. They were willing to change some parts of who they are to make it happen. They were dealing with a type of training that was relatively new to them, but it would push them that much further and test their limits.
They were so used to training a certain way all their lives, and now, they were changing it up for the opportunity to train with the gods. They had to make the most of new training styles in order to test what they were capable of.

Beerus had woken up and was with Vegeta showing him the Hakai technique.

"What is Lord Beerus teaching Vegeta?" Kakarot asks

"That is the Hakai technique." Whis explains "It is used by the Gods of Destruction, it is what they use to destroy."

"I see" Kakarot says "I wonder if it would be possible for even me to be able to do it."

"If you trained it, yes." Whis replies"

"I want to try it!" Kakarot says

"You'd have to ask Lord Beerus to show you." Whis says

"Maybe not." Kakarot replies "I learned the Kamehameha by seeing it done once."

By now, Vegeta and Beerus had overheard the conversation.

"There's no way you could do it." Vegeta says rolling his eyes

"There's one way to find out, right?" Kakarot says "I've already seen Beerus do it while he was showing you!"

Beerus holds up a relatively small stone, making it levitate above his hand. "Destroy this then."

Kakarot transforms into Perfected Super Saiyan Blue. he holds his arms out in front of him and concentrates all of the energy from his form inro the palm of his hand. With all his energy forming a purple glow around his hand, and then lets the attack loose. Sure enough the stone is destroyed, only leaving behind dust that falls to the ground.

"W-what?!" Vegeta stammers "But how?! You've had no training at all!"

"How do you think I learned the Kamehameha?" Kakarot says "I was not taught how to use it. I saw it done and I tried it out."

"I just don't get how you could actually do that!" Vegeta says clearly annoyed at how Kakarot seemed to find it so easily. "It seemed like no effort for you!"

Kakarot drops to his base form. "It took effort, and it took a lot out of me, I'll admit. It just proves you can do it, and likely be better than me at it because you're actually training to use it"

"You seem to subconsciously take note of what you see, and then apply it to yourself." Whis says "It is a good way to learn."

"It has gotten me this far" Kakarot says

"You didn't see and then employ Ultra Instinct!" Vegeta says

"True, but that's different." Kakarot says

"Not really" Vegeta replies

"Actually, Kakarot is right." Whis says "Ultra Instinct for him was achieved through a time of crisis, and in order to get him to use it at will, that situation had to be replicated. Ultra Instinct isn't something you can copy, because it's not like an attack or blast, it can't be seen in the same way. Part of him achieving it the first time was absorbing the spirit bomb as the amount of energy his body absorbed was far beyond what he could already do. You could say the Spirit Bomb allowed him to surpass his limits."

"Yeah, I thought that was the end of me if I'm honest." Kakarot says "It truly felt like it for that moment."

"Truthfully, I think we all thought the same." Whis admits "But of course, you came through, as you always do."

"I will Surpass you one day, Kakarot." Vegeta says determined.

"Maybe you will, but I'll always train to get stronger" Kakarot replies

"We all hit our limits eventually." Vegeta reminds Kakarot

"True, but I'm yet to hit mine!" Kakarot replies confidently

"Of course you haven't." Vegeta says rolling his eyes

The 2 Saiyan's continued their training and after a few more hours, they decided to call it a day.

Kakarot assumed all was well when he checked his phone to find he'd not heard anything from Chi-Chi. He headed home, remembering he had promised Chi-Chi that he'd get some farming done. Some crops were done, so he could take them and sell them at the market.
arriving home, Chi-Chi was helping Goten with his studies.

"I'm home!" Kakarot announces as he walks in

"Hey, training go okay?" Chi-Chi asks

"Yeah all good." Kakarot replies "I guess all was well here as well?"

"Yes." Chi-Chi replies "It's been a quiet day for us."

"Glad to hear it!" Kakarot says "I'm going to harvest those vegetables and take them to the market."

"Ah, so you didn't forget." Chi-Chi says

"No, I made sure to remember" Kakarot replies as he goes to get changed.

Kakarot heads to the field to check his crops. many were ready so he harvested the ones that were ready, planted more and hauled the crops into the back of his van. He drove his van into the city. Arriving at the market, it was clear everyone was looking forward to buying his vegetables.
He sold them all rather quickly. Such high quality vegetables brought in more money for Kakarot, and those who sold them, as the sellers could mark up the prices more. Lots of people were willing to pay higher prices for great quality product.
Kakarot always went home with a fair bit of money for just a few hours of work each day. It made Chi-Chi happy and ensured they had the money for the things they needed. Kakarot didn't care too much for money, but he wanted to be sure to provide for his family, and maybe one day, he could teach Goten how to farm properly and they could do it together.

So once done, Kakarot went back home, spent plenty of time with Chi-Chi and Goten before retiring to bed for the night, needing a good sleep after the days intense training.
