Prompt: You're a vampire who is hiding out in this abandoned house that I just ducked into to get away from some thugs AU
Characters: Levy and Gajeel

Levy sprinted down the street, a painful stitch forming in her side. She just had to get away. This was why Jet and Droy insisted on walking her home, the streets just weren't safe at night. Especially for a petite young woman all alone.

The bluenette knew she couldn't outrun them; she'd have to hide somewhere until they lost interest.

Scanning around in the dark with her hazel eyes, she spotted a house set a little further back from the road. The roof had patches of shingles missing, and most of the windows were boarded up, but the rickety front door was slightly ajar.

It looked abandoned enough that Levy wasn't worried about disturbing anyone and it seemed like the only viable means of escape.

Ducking out of the light of the streetlamps, Levy skittered through the low hedges. Branches snagged at her orange dress as she hurried to the dark porch. The bluenette slowly opened the door, wincing at the sound from the creaky hinges. Levy opened it just enough to slip inside before returning it to its ajar state.

She leaned against the wall, staring out at the street from the crack between the door and door frame, her breath coming in pants as she waited. The seconds felt like hours. Maybe she had lost the thugs further back? Maybe she was safe after all?

Just as Levy was starting to relax, a low raspy voice broke the silence.

"Bad luck, shrimp."

Levy turned her head in horror as a large shadow formed from the darkness behind her. She'd been so worried about the dangers outside the house that she hadn't thought about what dangers might be inside it.

Her eyes scanned the darkness, trying to separate the shadow from the rest of it. Her hazel eyes straining to pick out shaggy spikes of hair well above her head, which meant those shadows must be shoulders, and there just in between catching just a bit of light from the street outside were teeth.

Not just any teeth, fangs.

Levy didn't have time to fully process before she was plunged into complete darkness. The door slammed shut by what must have been his hand, his large arm trapping her in the space against the wall. He suddenly felt a lot closer, her eyes desperately trying to adjust to the darkness. The bluenette could feel the air shift as he leaned down, the spikes of his hair tickling her bare shoulders. Air tickled her ear as the deep rumbly voice whispered something. Levy couldn't quite comprehend what he was saying over the roar of blood pumping, thundering in her head.

"Gi hi" was the chuckle that came out of him, the last thing Levy McGarden heard before those pearly white fangs were sinking into her neck a short scream escaping her before turning into a gurgle as the blood drained from her. The bluenette slipping from consciousness and further into the cold darkness…

The vampire held her as he drank her blood, perhaps some of the sweetest blood he'd tasted in a while. He forced himself to stop, giving the wound he opened one last lick. The vampire didn't know how much longer he'd be hiding out here and he'd need food stocked up, and what meal more delicious than this little shrimp.

He picked up the small girl and carried her deeper into the dark house, still alive.

For now…
