Chapter 14

"Figures…"

"And yet you said nothing?"

"I didn't think it would happen so fast…"

Suguru sat there as he endured the slight bickering between the old goat and Sukuna. Sukuna had assumed this would have happened, the old goat thought there would be a counter to it in the mean time. Yet Sukuna was aware of the curse, they all were for that matter in a sense, but didn't know how it would have impacted them.

"So he can eat but can only eat enough to sustain himself and the children, but it is not enough to ensure their growth?" Sukuna asked bluntly. "That's cruel even by my standards."

The old goat agreed. "But now we have to ask, how do we fix this? It appears the children won't gain anything they need to grow from their father's actions alone."

Suguru paused to this. "So… basically, no matter what I eat… I won't help my children?" he asked bluntly.

The old goat sighed and nodded. "You are doing everything right, even your partner is doing everything right. However, the way this curse works is that the children are not to gain their sustenance from you but another source."

That… made NO SENSE!

"How the hell does this old dragon bastard expect the children to survive if they have to get their means of growth from somewhere else than the parent who is tending to them!?" he demanded in rage. It pissed him off, these are HIS children in harms way for doing nothing but trying to enter this world.

"That old bastard made me mess up before, but I refuse to allow Suguru to! What is his issue!" Satoru shouted.

"You're a threat to him, and every child you have from this moment on is a threat." Came out of Sukuna in a sage like tone.

The room paused, as he stood confident in his answer. "Remember, this world had one dragon, Ryujin before his soul went into the brat, and then the knockoff before becoming part of the knockoff. In that timeframe, the world went from one… to many. You have Lady Tiamat's daughters having families, their husbands having the children. Yua's clan being dragon decent…" he paused to this. "Goat, what clan is the Tooru dragon from?"

The old goat froze. "I always thought she was part of Tiamat's!" he protested. "She wasn't… then again, the dragon Lady Tiamat was to take as a mate… he came to the earthly realm to avoid the marriage and ended up with a human…"

"We know the story, but what dragon clan did she come from!?" Sukuna demanded more firmly.

The old goat paused. "They have long since died out, the name lost to the ages as well. But I do know, the dragons that Yua descends from in fact, went to war with Tiamat's uncle. They were betrayed by a clan they had connections with to curry favor with Yggdrasil. Yua is the last of the dragon bloodline until she bares children… and needless to say how Yggdrasil feels about such actions…"

Sukuna sneered a little. "Even as a dragon there is more to the Toorus than one sees…" he muttered.

"So, we must counter this curse immediately or the children will not survive." The old goat began to say.

Yet as everyone was trying to think and talk out ideas, Suguru's hearing cut out on him, he couldn't understand a word anyone was saying but something did come to his mind.

'Elder … we ne eld er'

It was a gentle call, but it came a second time, asking for an elder?

Suguru shook his head clear.

"Everything okay? You spaced out?" asked Satoru.

"Yeah, I think so, my hearing cut out on me." But he knew what he heard. But then, something else came to mind. "Sir, Yua hasn't been able to get anywhere near me when Satoru is around… is this part of the curse too?" Suguru asked.

The old goat paused. "You mean he is hindering a female from inspecting her mate?!" he demanded.

"Take the hint." Came out of Sukuna.

"YEAH HE IS!" Rook called from the upstairs bathroom. "I WAS GOING TO TALK TO DAD ABOUT IT LATER. BUT HAD TO BE SURE IT WAS WHAT IT WAS!"

The old goat paused as he peered behind him. "What on earth is happening to that boy?!" he demanded and pointed up the steps.

"Something wrong?" Sukuna demanded as he got his back up. "We've been training, he has been hunting and devouring divine beasts that make trouble."

Suguru found Calypso making notes. She was writing everything down at a feverish pace, perhaps to make note for if such an event happens again. And yet the old goat was still utterly confused.

"A human body shouldn't make that kind of aura!" he protested.

Sukuna however peered at Satoru… and smirked. "Is that so, well, perhaps it's the training he is under? I am rather attentive to something or someone who has peeked my interests."

Satoru… merely looked away bitterly. At the same time, Suguru can't help but agree with Sukuna on this. He is the one who has trained Rook since he learned he had heavenly restrictions. He knew instantly Rook had no curse energy when he was an infant. And yet… despite it all, he trained Rook as he would any sorcerer.

No mercy.

But what Rook did to keep his attention, was he kept coming back. Sukuna would fight someone enough to make them quit, they wouldn't seek out his help again… but Rook always came back for more. He complained a little but not to the point of being a crybaby about it.

He refused to give up, let alone refused to allow Sukuna to overlook him.

"Should we focus to what is happening now? What can I do in the mean time for my children?" Suguru asked aloud.

It brought everyone back to the matter at hand, the old goat was at a loss until Sukuna appeared to be thinking of something. "I know that look."

Rook rejoined them as he saw Sukuna considering something, but that smile that followed. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"

Rook smirked back. "Yeah, who knows it could be helpful… I'll get started!" He went to the kitchen and began to take out a pressure cooker. Suguru was confused as were everyone else but Sukuna. Then Rook rushed back upstairs and came down with a small black bag. Suguru wondered where those scales he had went to, then again, lady Tiamat asked for them. She turned it into a bag? Who knew?

Anyways.

Rook reached into this bag then…

SPLAT!

A massive liver hit the table!

"What the hell is that from?!" Satoru demanded.

"Orc king!" Rook said proudly. "I was thinking of having this later, but Pops needs this more than me. I do this out of love, Pops!" Rook said as he began to prepare the liver. He washed it first, clearing out blood clots and other matter, he was a master at cleaning such an organ before it was cut up into chunks.

Suguru froze as those chunks made their way into the pressure cooker. He nearly filled it with a quarter of a liver! With a smile, Rook snapped on the lid and started to cook.

"I'm… a little concerned…" Suguru said aloud.

"At ease, you have swallowed curses, this should mean nothing to you." Sukuna said bluntly.

Something unpleasant is going to be served him… he just knows it.
