Dino Thunder: Chemical Beast!
Chapter 18: The Cyborg's plea?
"Just one... Final piece... And-" A wrench tightened a bolt when Amelia adjusted her glasses further against her nose. "There! Hahahaha! My present to him is complete!" Grinning from cheek to cheek, bright eyes were examining the machine when she took a step back. "It's nothing like my poor attempt at creating a guardian for his lair, that's still being worked on... This, however- I know he'll love!" Hopping with excitement, squealing, and giggling, the redhead put the wrench on a table nearby and was about to leave when she saw Stevie sitting in the doorway. "Stevie! My boy!" With wide open arms and crouching, she saw him sprint and leap into her embrace. "Did you have a good nap?~ Dear lord, you're heavy... You're getting as heavy as Mesogog!" She struggled to pick him up and hold him, nonetheless, she managed.
"Are you ready for your dance practice?~" Her palm rested between the red spots on the hybrid's forehead and petted him. He seemed to make a prehistoric purr and lean into her touch. Hahahaha! Just like your Daddy! She couldn't help but internally gush over the cute display, especially when his tail flailed happily. "I'll take that as a yes. Alright! Let's get started shall we?" When she put him back down and fussed with her lab coat to look for her unique phone, she didn't notice a figure who lingered in the entryway.
Her fingers messed with the touchscreen and typed in her passcode for it to unlock. With a click, it revealed her home screen with Mesogog's face as her background and she giggled at the sexy angle. "He's so photogenic.~ Hehehehehe.~ anyway!" Quickly she swiped her finger, tapped on a music icon, and brought up her music list. Mesogog would never know that she secretly takes pictures of him, which she recently did earlier today when he was supposedly scolding Trent.
As she scrolled through the various songs, one in particular stuck out the most so she didn't hesitate to tap on it. "I haven't heard this one in a while and with its beat, it would make for the perfect dance song.~" When she leaned her phone against a toolbox next to her, on a table, her coat was pulled off and the song Disturbia by Rihanna resonated throughout the room.
"Okay! Just as we practiced! Flap those wings and get them moving! Exercise is the major key to proper bodily development!" Amelia stood beside Stevie who, as practiced, sprawled his wings and took a pose next to her.
Her arms flapped as his wings did and when she swayed her hips, Stevie's butt did the same to make his tail move accordingly. "Good!" With fists on top of her hips, she danced and continued to sway with sass, as her knees began to bend.
Over and over, they danced. Moving their hips, flapping their arms, hopping on one foot backward in sync together, and making sideways steps. Twirls, hops, and claps from her hands and Stevie's paws came together while he stood on his hind legs. Her giggles accompanied the song, especially when Stevie's tail flailed happily when he jumped back to do his own thing. "Hahaha! Good job! Keep going! Don't hold back! Just be yourself, Stevie!~" Clapping, hopping backward, she started to do her thing too until she came face to chest with Mesogog, who had strode in quietly and watched. "Whoa! Hey! hi- hi! Hello!" Hysterically backing up and laughing at his sudden approach, her Franken Baby still danced.
"Never... In my life... Have I seen an animal dance," As she saw his head tilt and his golden, intense gaze stare her down like she were an enigma, she smirked. "A hybrid dinosaur... At that," He added, which she giggled at and closed the gap between them.
"Then let's see you do it! You're a hybrid too.~" Without his permission she grabbed his wrists and put some space between them. From one side to the other, she made his arms move in sync with the song's beat and watched him glare daggers. "Hahaha! Come on! You're so stiff! Loosen up a bit! Dancing is good for the body to relieve stress and get your heart pumping!~" As soon as she stated that, she felt and saw his wrists jerk from her grip and return to his sides. "Dancing's not for everyone, I guess. You probably don't know how to.~" The shrug of her shoulders and her playful grin were enough to say that she wasn't giving up so soon. She sprinted to reach Stevie until she felt a grip on her hand yank her back against his chest.
"I know how to dance... But I prefer a much slower one," She felt his claws reach around her waist and his other one gently pull on the hand he held, his move set her heart into a frenzy.
"D- Did you have to yank on me to get that point across?" It was purely accidental when she stuttered, nervousness made her stiffen up and take a couple of steps away from him. Red face and all, if she turned around to look at him, he would've been able to see the success he most likely wanted. "Anyway! Here!" She had to be quick to change subjects, for she ran to the supposed present she made, and took her lab coat from a table to hide it the best she could. "Are you ready? I finished your present! It took me forever though, since I suck at Robotics... Sure I've made my pistols, but only know a little more than the basics for Robotics, so- this gave me a challenge!" Her vibrant gaze excitedly darted to him over her shoulder and watched his chin lift and part, an amused expression.
"Three..." She started, lifted the coat higher, and pretended that the present was some grand prize. "Two..." Grinning like mad, deep down she was hoping he would like it. "One!" The coat was dramatically pulled away and kept her attention on the beast, who stood in awe at the sight. Although he showed little to no expression, save for specific movements of his jaw and head, she could still tell that he was amazed.
There propped up on a metal stand that protruded off the side, was a Crotch Rocket Motorcycle. There was enough space for two people. Its color was as black as a void with tiny bits of green and yellow in some spots to match the color of his lair. Over the sides of the back tires, three streaks of silver claw marks horizontally hovered and almost poked past the driver seat. There was a shield of sorts covering the many buttons and components in front of the seat, with a windshield attached just above that. Its coating glossed under the lights of the room, which she could tell he was staring at.
"Soooo?!~ What do you think? I wanted to try and make the bike match your tastes! I noticed every door had those claw marks and the interior walls are green and yellow! You wear a lot of black, too! So I thought, maybe, I could use that color theme!" Like the drama queen she was, her hands wiggled about when she leaned back to allow him a better view and pretend like she was showing off a fancy car.
Her arms fell after she saw him take gradual steps closer, not without putting his hands behind his back. With a single claw tracing along the seat and to the handles, she watched him walk around the beast of a machine to examine its features. Over the driver's seat, he leaned to check the gas and other parts, just as any customer would at a dealership who's checking out a vehicle they like. "How did you manage to make it like this? The parts in the Robotics room were limited." Curiously he turned his head to her and refused to stand up straight, for he remained leaned to further investigate the parts it was built with. Back to the bike, he walked in front of it and opened the hatch to view the engine.
"Easy! I basically combined parts to create a whole new part! Some of the parts in this room were very similar to the ones I saw in the Robotics room in Solar's Facility! This metallic beast should be able to out-speed the Assassins easily! It's probably a bit faster than the Crotch Rockets from this era and the one Gruumm is in.~ I made sure to add Plasma rounds instead of laser shots and a rocket boost to give you an edge if you ever needed to escape a speedy monster! I was limited to what I could add, though. I wanted to implement paralysis shots too or maybe a hover mode to fly through the air... But sadly, I couldn't! There wasn't enough space inside the vehicle's frame.~" As she mumbled about with a finger to her lip and her eyes to the ceiling, she didn't notice the focused stare on her mouth from Mesogog.
"This will be useful," From there she blinked, looked over at him, and saw him lift a leg to sit on the bike. He was testing out the comfort and many other things. The grip strength needed for the breaks that were on the silver handles, the distance between his feet, and the footholds on the sides of the motorcycle.
He looked all over the front to find the engine starter, but couldn't find one. There was no keyhole or any way to make it come to life, so with a confused stare in her direction, she giggled and pointed at a scanner. "If you want to start it up, just put your finger over the eye in the center and it'll scan your fingerprints! Prehistoric or not, every living creature has some sort of print to them," She felt him stiffen when she grabbed his hand and pulled on a claw to press against the scanner's eye.
When they waited for a couple of seconds, the engine soon purred. It was as smooth as the movement of the Cyborg's machinery when the Assassins moved, smooth like a hot knife to butter and almost soundless. "This way no one can access it besides you. I don't know how to ride one of these, but with your muscle and keen intellect, I wouldn't put it past you if you knew how to drive it!~" Her excited clap and crimson on her cheeks did her no justice, for they expressed how she admired him in such a way and hadn't realized how much that puffed up his pride. Eeee! Hahahaha! Mesogog looks so cool on a motorcycle! There went her inner fangirl, which she did her best to hide.
His deep inhale when he straightened up and adjusted the front of his attire, indicated that he liked her compliment, which didn't register in her mind. However, what he said next, had astonished her. "I do not know how to drive this. But I'll learn quickly. Unlike humans, I am capable of picking up on things easily," She watched him lean forward again and rev the engine when he pressed on the gas a bit, of course, he refrained from putting his foot on the pedal to move.
"O- Oh! Okay," Nervousness welled in her chest along with beads of sweat. The images in her mind of him trying to drive like a first-timer on the road made her almost bust out laughing if she hadn't averted her attention to distract herself. However, upon the sound of faint pats, her blue gaze saw his claws gently tap at the back seat and give her his usual intense gaze that always seemed to make her blush. Nonetheless, she smirked, nodded, and giggled. "Wanting to take it for a test drive?~" The moment she was about to join him, a certain sound reached their ears, and they looked near the entrance of the Robotics room to see a platinum portal.
"It appears I'll get to learn a lot sooner," With haste, Mesogog mentioned and revved his engine.
"Go, go, go, go, go, go! I didn't know it would be this soon, that they would show up!" Amelia flung a leg over the back seat, pulled out her portal device, and set the coordinates. When she pointed it out in front of the motorcycle, three Chromium Assassins stepped out and took position.
"Target located," The replica, C71.9X, stated, as well did the others. "Initiating Combat Sequence: Phase one," The Replica was the only one to state this, for the others jutted out their blades when the Replica did, to prepare for combat.
"Lord Mesogog!" Neither of the two knew Zeltrax lingered in the doorway, to see what the commotion was about, but when the Cyborgs all turned around and saw him, only one stepped toward him.
(Play: The Enigma TNG – Apocalatia! The theme for the Cyborgs! :D)
"Zeltrax! Run! Go! I'll drag the others away from here!" Amelia knew it, she knew he was going to need some form of damage against one of those cyborgs, so she chucked one of her pistols at him and saw him catch it effortlessly.
"Right!" The black metal Cyborg nodded and sprinted out of the room, just to be chased down by the older model's replica.
Her heart rate was rapid when she felt the motorcycle burst into speed, so she had to wrap her arms around his otherwise steel-toned abs and hold on for dear life. "Eee!" Through the portal, they sped, faster than the two who followed, and came out the other side into Reefside's forest.
High over a cliff edge they flew over a gap and continued through the trees in hopes of slowing them down. "You threw your second pistol to Zeltrax. Why?" Mesogog's words were hard to hear over the heavy wind in her ears, but she pulled out her only plasma pistol and aimed it at the two.
"Do you really think Zeltrax would be able to stand a chance against these?! No! Only Plasma shots can bust through their frames! I didn't want his life to be at risk!" With a flick of a switch, the settings on her pistol changed, and out came a flurry of plasma beams that tore through tree bases and flora to reach the Cyborgs.
"Fair enough," Mesogog's mildly amused expression couldn't be seen when her attention was on the Assassins. He was doing everything he could to focus on the ground to not run into any holes or anything that could knock them off the bike; he weaved through the trees and saw a road outside the forest's edge. "Find another location!" Over the sounds, he demanded and curved the bike just right so he could hoist it onto the road and drive.
"Okay!" Amelia didn't waste another second. She had to stuff her pistol back into her pocket to reach for her device. "I'll pick another world! We're going to world jump to confuse Solar! If they get destroyed in a world he's not familiar with then he won't be able to find their parts!" Again, the portal was shot out before them and they sped through. Operation Overdrive might do us some good! Then I'll skip through that and go to Mystic Force if I have to! I don't think we're going to get anywhere if we keep going to SPD. I already got Gruumm and the Rangers there, involved... I don't want to risk their lives if I can help it! There she went, planning and calculating her chances at their escape and potentially defeating the Assassins.
Through the other side, Mesogog managed to skid sideways to avoid a powerful burst from one of the two Cyborgs. Amelia hurriedly pulled her pistol out again and pointed it at the closest Assassin. "If you see a man that looks like lava or one that's covered in ice, don't hesitate to go to them! Their temperamental enough to attack just about anyone who jumps in the middle of their fight! Except for the icy one, he's more calculative!" She didn't want to tell him that they were villains from Operation Overdrive, nor mention that there were Power Rangers in this world too, and that they could be interrupting an important episode.
"These worlds are strange," Of course, Dr. Ray couldn't hear that bit, for he mumbled, and drove through another forestry area to avoid several shots from the two Assassins.
Just ahead, they flew over another cliff edge and landed heavily in the middle of a fight between the icy man she mentioned and some colored individuals. "Get out of the waaaay!" The redhead's scream filled the air like a banshee after she clung to Mesgog's waist for dear life, when he turned the bike and skidded to a slow halt. "What are you doing?! Move! Go!" Into her lab coat, she yanked out a Barrier Bomb and chucked it near their feet.
The moment she did, the crimson barrier reached high and cut through one of the Cyborg's arms when it reached for them. From the jolt of the motorcycle, she held onto him again and ignored the bewildered stares of the icy man she knew as Flurious and the astonished body language from the Rangers.
"Initiating Combat Sequence: Phase two," The one Assassin whose arm wasn't lopped off, sped past the damaged one and extended its serrated blades and spider-like attachments.
However, Amelia saw the damaged one lift an arm that turned into a hand and then into a cannon. "Swerve!" As soon as she demanded that, the bike did so, and felt the wind on the energy burst from the damaged Cyborg's weapon. No more time was spent when she flicked the settings on her pistol to burst mode and pointed it at the fast-approaching Assassin. When she saw it leap into the air and spin like a saw blade, a plasma shot came out and destroyed one of its legs.
However, those spider-like legs supported it when it began to walk like an arachnid and race after them. Judging by the jolt from the bike, she knew Mesogog floored it and held on the best she could with one arm. Not long after, a wave of ice caught the one with a lopped-off leg but didn't stop the second one.
"Initiating Combat Sequence: Phase two," The second Assassin stated through its overlapped, emotionless voice before it ran after them and changed. Although with one arm gone, it only had its other one to work with, so its cannon formed and those spider-like attachments appeared.
"Thanks, ice man!" Screaming out before they drove further away, Dr. Ray took out her device and set the coordinates to Mystic Force. Immediately they drove through and were lucky enough to be far ahead of the disarmed Cyborg, for they came out the other side with a burst of speed.
Play: Nemesis by The Enigma TNG :D!)
Back at the lair, Zeltrax sprinted and yanked on Elsa who confusedly stared at his hasted approach. "What's wrong with-" He gave her no time to talk when he forced her to run with him.
"Lord Mesogog escaped with Dr. Ray to lure the Cyborgs away! One of them targeted me specifically, so we need to run!" He would've been stupid to doubt their decisions. If Mesogog didn't want them fighting those things then he had every right to assume the worst, especially when he recalled what Dr. Ray said.
He didn't see Elsa peek over her shoulder to watch a Chromium Cyborg with icy blue eyes, sprint after them like a determined predator on the hunt. However, Zeltrax pulled her behind him and lifted his shield when the Assassin leaped powerfully across the hall and tried to bury its Serrated Blades into him. The loud clank echoed before it jumped back and stared at him for the longest time.
"C- C- Cy Cyborg. C- Cy- Cyborg. Fellow-" Its head twitched as electricity coated its body, malfunctions evident when it was forced to lift its lengthy blades and scrap them along the wall on one side during its trek. "Initiating Combat Sequence: Phase Two- two- two- help... Help. Help. Help. He- he- he... Help," Over and over it malfunctioned and caught his attention.
The shield he held up was slowly lowered, confusing him, and watching as it changed. The Serrated Blades extended further, puncturing the metallic wall as if it were nothing and sprawling out its spider-like legs from its backside. "Run. R- Run. R- R- R- R-... Engaging target. Mission: Eliminate potential threats. Analyzing... Processing," Slow, sluggish movements, brought it closer to them when it malfunctioned.
"Run? You're a Cyborg, you could stop at any time! Only Androids and Robots lack wills but you-" Zeltrax tried to speak to it, but had to block when it stomped him to the floor and made him slide on his backside with it on top.
The blades repeatedly attempted to pierce through the shield and when one blade managed to poke through it, he had to kick it off. The pistol Dr. Ray gave to help fight it had dropped somewhere and was lucky that Elsa picked it up when she moved away from them.
"W- Will. Will. Fight... Yes. Fight, must. Fight. Fight. Fight. Fight, Cybernetic system. He- He- Help. Help. Help. Kill. Kill. Kill... M- Me. Save me. Save me. Save me. Save- Save- Save- Save- Save-" He saw it. Its icy cold eyes expressed pain and suffering when it fought against its Cybernetics, and its machinery, and did its best to hold itself back to give them the upper hand.
However, Elsa didn't hesitate to pull the trigger and send a burst of plasma to knock its head off. "Wow. What happened to it?" Questioned the goth with a concerned knit of her brows and walked closer to the beheaded Cyborg, that fell with a heavy clunk.
"I... I don't know. It was as if it wasn't allowed to have a will of its own. I could tell it was trying," The black metal Cyborg stepped closer and kneeled next to its Chromium frame, for a better inspection.
"Whatever the case... We killed it. It was probably the only kindness we could give it, seeing as it was doing us a favor and holding itself back," With a foot, Elsa kicked at its arm, and sighed.
But what made Zeltrax gasp and shudder at the sight, was when bits of blood and brain matter were noticed on the wall behind it. "Elsa. This person... Ace Solar. By the looks of it, he used a sentient brain. Look," When he inched toward the wall and examined the contents, it was indeed, the brain of a sentient creature. "Most likely a human brain," Even though he was similar to those things, he at least had willpower of his own. The smack to his metal was what brought him out of his stupor, so when he looked up at the goth he secretly admired, he saw her frown.
"Zeltrax! Hello? You have a human brain too! Or has, living in a Cybernetic body, made you forget that? You're similar to these things," Elsa's finger wiggled about above the dead Assassin as a gesture, but when he stood up and growled, her brow lifted.
"Elsa. That human brain was being controlled against its will! At least Lord Mesogog provided me with Willpower and control over my body. If these Cyborgs are all made the same way, then they all must have different brains. Taking away Willpower to be forced to do stuff like this, I doubt even Lord Mesogog would go as low as that," Anger bubbled up in his system the more he thought about the Scientist. Fists clenched and a growl escaped his otherwise mouth-less head.
"Really? Yes... I couldn't agree more. This must mean... Solar is using human brains to create these things. Whatever that electricity is, must be the cybernetics forcing the brain into doing what it was tasked with. When Lord Mesogog returns, it would be best to report what we learned," With that, Zeltrax nodded, and leaned down to scoot the heavy machinery next to his feet away from the wall a bit more.
~~~~
Mystic Force isn't working! Amelia held onto Mesogog the best she could, as the one-armed Assassin raced after them through the city and saw the Rangers chase after their pursuer; albeit slower than the Assassin but they did nonetheless. Several poor attempted shots from the Mystic Rangers hardly grazed the Chromium Cyborg, so she knew what she had to do and it pained her to have to rely on him again.
"Mr. Mesogog- We're heading to Gruumm! Surely his staff would pack enough power behind it to do some damage! He's temperamental and has a horrible need for vengeance if others get away with pissing him off or fooling him. We're going to his ship!" She didn't want to waste her bombs on this one, not yet, for they sped too quickly to aim one behind her.
"He best not keep us, then," She knew he trusted her judgments and decisions enough to help them survive. So far, during their chases, she had succeeded with his help. So choosing Gruumm would benefit the situation more than it would worsen it.
"I'll make sure he doesn't. I know his personality enough to haggle with him and stay on his good side... Except for when he threatened me for more information about Solar and stuff when I tried to retrieve my heels!" Again, from her pocket, she pulled out her device and opened the portal.
"He... What?" When they drove through the tunnel and tried to ignore the speeding Assassin behind them, she knew he was angry by how he asked; if his glance over his shoulder was anything to go by.
"Nothing! Never mind! Keep driving!" He did exactly that, for they raced out the other side and down the hall of Gruumm's ship. "Gruumm! We could use a hand heeeere!" Throughout the ship, she whaled and reached behind her to aim her pistol at the Assassin.
Her lab coat flailed upon their sheer speed, as her blue gaze watched the Cyborg magnetize and sprint along the walls with flurries of energy blasts at their backsides. However, she nearly toppled off the bike when Mesogog skidded sideways to a slow halt to stop before the skeletal man's appearance.
Not another second, she didn't have time to chat, for she hopped off, slapped down a crimson barrier, and watched the Cyborg smack face-first into the wall of energy.
"So- you return, again," Gruumm's gravely words reached their ears. Dr. Ray paid him little attention when she aimed her pistol at the thing and switched settings to burst mode again.
However, Mesogog had to yank her out of the way when they saw it pierce and break through the barrier to try to tackle the redhead. "Eek!" They both rolled and bounced, but when they heard a metallic clang, their heads perked up to see Gruumm's staff blocking one lengthy Serrated blade.
"Amelia, you need to stop shooting!" That surprised her. When he blocked her view of the thing by getting in front of her and shielding her with his six-foot and two-inch frame, she gasped at his furious words. Yes, focusing on trying to shoot it almost cost her big time.
"New threat detected. Analyzing... Processing. Status: Priority," Out from the Cyborg's back came those spider-like legs and pierced Gruumm's shoulders to lift him high above its head. When its bladed arm pulled back in an attempt to stab him through his armor, Gruumm sent a powerful wave of indigo electricity despite the pained grunt that came from him.
"I better be your priority! Because I will be the one to end your pathetic cybernetic life!" Through glinting rubies came his anger, and watched it jerk upon the power from the electricity.
The redhead stood awestruck when he withstood the pain and zapped his power. Even though his indigo electricity is strong, it's not powerful enough to damage the Cyborg! Someone needs to- For once, the redhead panicked but was at a loss for words when she saw Mesogog run up behind it, grab its Serrated Blade arm by the crease, and yank it off from its joint.
Next, two of the spider-like attachments that held Gruumm in the air, began to bend back when the Emperor used his strength to do so. "Arg! These things are powerful! What are they made of?!" Spouted the enraged War Lord, who jumped back after he was freed and saw him glance in her direction.
"Chromium Titanium Alloy," It was Mesogog who answered him, but when Gruumm swung his ax with a mighty roar and immense strength, he cut it straight through the middle. It was left severed and poorly functional.
"Whatever it is, it took every ounce of my strength behind my staff to cut through it!" Livid, the Emperor was as he spoke through heavy breaths. Amelia saw him slowly move his attention to her and Mesogog, before going back to the struggling Cyborg on the floor.
The only thing that was left was the few attachments on its back that tried to hoist its frame up, with no arms or lower half. As its icy blues flickered for a moment, it looked up at everyone with bits of sparks indicating its malfunction. "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank- thank- thank- thank-... Initiating Self-Destruct Sequence in T- minus 5... 4... 3... 2..." As its eyes glowed red and its head twitched, everyone ran far from it, including Mesogog who sprinted to Amelia and kicked the motorcycle into drive; of course he made sure she sat on the backseat.
Just when they were speeding down the hall, behind them, a large explosion filled the space and thankfully left Gruumm intact. "Thanks! Whatever is left of the thing, you can keep it!" The redhead waved goodbye before she used her portal device to go back to Dino Thunder, and left a bewildered War Lord with the mess.
~~~~
Mesogog came out the other side of the platinum hole and could feel Dr. Ray's grip around his waist. It brought a smirk to his prehistoric mouth to know that she clung to and relied on him. Of course, it wasn't much of a distraction when he slowed to a stop near Zeltrax and Elsa. It kept saying thank you... Why? A moment's pause was needed for him to register what had happened.
"Whoa! Mr. Mesogog, look! They took it down!" His gaze shifted to watch her leap off and race after the beheaded Assassin. The sound of her heels went ignored when he saw her stand near Zeltrax and the goth, but for the life of him, he couldn't understand why the other Cyborg repeated itself before it self-destructed.
"Master... Lord Mesogog, Elsa, and I have concluded something rather disturbing about Ace Solar. Something I am sure Dr. Ray would like to hear, as well," There was a tense air that hung around their heads once he mentioned that.
Off the bike and slowly to Amelia, he gave the mess near their feet a close inspection. "What is it?" Mesogog wasn't by any means in the mood to deal with incompetence, so his patience for his minions became thin. Nonetheless, if it was about Ace, then surely that man was full of many mysteries as much as Amelia was, and that drove him to want to know more. One glance at the redhead and he saw a glint of concern in her eyes when they moved to him.
"It turns out..." Zeltrax began, crouched close to the oddly blood-splattered wall, and pointed at something strange within it. The gasp from Amelia was enough to tell the dino man that she knew what it was. "These Cyborgs are being controlled against their will. Human or sentient brains are being used as the main machine part and their Cybernetics must be overriding their willpower. This one didn't want to fight. It wanted to be killed and kept asking for us to save or help it. It struggled against its cybernetics, fighting against the machine's hold it had on its brain... Not even you, my lord, would stoop as low as this. You saved me and gave me another chance at life, even my Willpower stayed intact. But this-" When Meso saw him stand in his upper peripherals, he noticed the Cyborg's fingers wiggle pointedly above the Chromium Assassin's corpse. "This is going too far," He finished, but it wasn't enough to make the beast move his attention from the metallic dead body.
Yes. Not even I would go that far. I use Tyrannodrones, whereas he uses Cyborgs with human brains. My Tyrannodrones are mutations, mindless creations meant to serve me. Anger began to boil on the inside. His contemplative, intense stare at the brain matter that he saw mixed with the blood, never faltered. However, the light clank near his feet broke his train of thought, and looked down to see the portal device. So, when his gaze shifted to view Amelia, he saw pure devastation and disbelief on her face.
"N- No... I helped create them... But I never knew that this was how they were being made," Almost a whisper, there was a tinge of unease and sympathy when she spoke. Her sluggish steps closer and careful squat near the brain matter, allowed her curls to curtain her face.
Everything was quiet, not a sound or loud breath of air. The beast leaned over in an attempt to see past her red locks and when he caught a glimpse of tears down her cheeks, he knew she concluded something. What is she thinking, that is causing her to cry? Sure, he wasn't bothered by such things and didn't understand it much, but to see her like that made something in him stir.
"Dr. Ray. Is there something you're not telling us? Or have you just realized something?" Elsa, with a hand on her hip, which Mesogog ignored, questioned with a bit of attitude and annoyance.
"Yes... I realized... Where all of the old test subjects are going. Ace Solar uses live test subjects, humans, and if they die their organs are contained before their corpses are buried; they're preserved. I always wondered where those organs went and now that I'm seeing a human brain in pieces..." Trailing off, her blue-rimmed glasses were removed to wipe stray tears. "Dear lord... This man's a monster," Once again, everything fell silent, as she pinched between her brows and tried to calm herself down.
"A monster... Who would have been a great asset, if I were to have him join us in bringing Earth back to its former glory. But he invaded and threatened our lives," Mesogog didn't see the scowl on her lips and the sharp glares from her when he stood straighter. Yes, he would've made a perfect ally during his quest to bring back the dinosaurs.
"A great asset? He would've overthrown you. That man's not capable of alliances or team-ups. He has a temper and if someone fails to do their job even once, they're either killed on the spot or worse. I've... Known him long enough to know how much of a monster he is. You pale in comparison to him... In my eyes, you're not a monster. Especially not one like him," For once he heard her serious tone sharpen to anger and wavered as though she held back the need to cry.
"That would explain why you do not fear me," Taken aback by her words, it was the first time he'd heard someone say he wasn't a monster. It almost caused him to chuckle and feel elated, if he didn't keep his emotions under control.
"I don't fear you, because I know... You're just... Similar to me. Why should I be afraid of someone who's misunderstood? Who's lost in their darkness like I am and can't find a way out? You may be evil, you may be cruel, and show moments of no mercy, but that all comes from something deep within. I know you'll figure it out if you think about it hard enough," With that, he watched her stand up, and slowly make her way down the hall past them. "I'm going to go find Stevie. I need some hugs," The last bit came out more as a cracked whisper, but he heard it regardless and saw her sluggish steps turn a corner.
Deep within... Lost. Misunderstood? Lost... His mind repeated the last word like a broken record. He was zoned out and began to compare what she said, to yesterday. Lost... Can mean that you're alone or misguided. When I imagine myself in nothing but darkness, I feel alone. And when others are envisioned around me, separating from me, there's a sense of loneliness too. I believe... That is what I felt when I emerged from Mercer and saw all of those humans, so it infuriated me in the end. His train of thought was soon snapped when Zeltrax spoke up.
"My lord. I'll use the Tyrannodrones to clean up," Without answering the cyborg, he simply walked over to his bike and rolled it past the two back to the Robotics room. Which was where he knew Amelia was since that was the last place he saw Stevie.
"Good. Get back to work once you're finished!" With that, he rounded the corner and left the two in silence. Alone... Lost. 'Loneliness can be a burden'. Hmm. That was his last thought, for he continued to contemplate her words to put more pieces together.
