Chapter 69.
Defeating the pack.
While Izumi and the rest of the first years face Kai and Tai, the heroes face the rest of the wolf pack, Endeavor is facing the fake Tai. – "You better give up, then I'll have mercy on you!"- Endeavor said.
- "Yeah… I don't think so!"- The fake Tai said while dodging Endeavor's attacks with astonishing agility.
However, Endeavor quickly hits the ground and creates a pillar of fire at the fake Tai's feet, knocking her down. – "Yeah… I think you are done."- Endeavor said. – "The wolf pack is over!"-
- "Heh…"- Fake Tai said while smiling. – "I'm sorry... but the real leader is somewhere else..."-
Suddenly the fake Tai transforms into a man with a reptilian appearance, green scales covering his body. – "You... were a fake!"- Endeavor said.
- "I'm Kenta... but everyone calls me..."- Kenta said and then his scales began to shine and he became Endeavor. – "The Chameleon!"- Kenta said as he hit a surprised Endeavor.
- "It may only alter my physical appearance... but it's fun to see the surprise on my opponents' faces!"- Kenta said.
- "Damn...we were fooled..."- Endeavor thought as he stood up. – "Well... at least I'll have the luxury of catching all of you!"-
- "I want to see you try!"- Kenta said.

- "It seems that in the end I will have to fight..."- Tai said while looking at Izumi.
- "I will defeat you and bring you to justice!"- Izumi said as she pointed her gloves at Tai. – "Delaware Smash!"- Izumi fires a couple of blasts of wind at Tai, but to her surprise Tai seems to disappear in an instant.
- "I'll warn you once and for all..."- Tai said appearing behind Izumi. – "To defeat me you will need more than overwhelming me with attacks."-
Thanks to Danger Sense, Izumi manages to dodge Tai's attack who tried to attack her from behind with his claws, then Izumi jumps back to take distance. – "She's fast... much faster than that Kai guy."- She thought.
- "Know.. . I'm glad you came... I haven't fought in a while..."- Tai said as she takes off her jacket and shoes, leaving herself only dressed in a pair of purple shorts. Luckily, thanks to her quirk that gives her the abilities and appearance of a wolf, Tai's breasts are covered by fur. – "It's time to stretch the legs!"-
Meanwhile with Shoto, Mina and Shinso, they are alert to Kai who is still frozen.
- "Don't let your guard down!"- Shoto said.
Just then the ice begins to crack and Kai is freed from his ice prison, Shinso, Shoto, and Mina stand back to prepare for the fight. - "That... was interesting..."- Kai said as he starts spinning his hammers.
- "Get ready…"- Shoto said.
- "I have to admit, you took me by surprise, that's all."- Kai said.
- "You are very arrogant, don't you think?"- Shinso asked.
- "It's not arrogance... I am aware of my strength."- Kai said.
- "My brainwashing didn't work!"- Shinso thought in shock, it's the first time his brainwashing didn't work.
- "You tried to brainwash me, didn't you?"- Kai said to everyone's surprise. – "What are you surprised about? I saw you at the sports festival... but I'm sorry to tell you that my mind only follows one person's orders... Lady Tai's!"-
- "Are you a simp or what?"- Mina asked.
- "Pinky... Leave those questions for your friends..."- Kai said. – "I was created for one thing... to serve as Lady Tai's bodyguard, saving her trouble."-
- "Pinky?!"- Mina thought with rage.
- "Created?"- Shoto asked. – "What do you mean by that?"-
- "Hiro... is the man who gave me my reason for life... in exchange for a favor from Lady Tai... he put me at Lady Tai's service, my only duty is to follow all her orders."- Kai said.
- "Hiro… Who's that?"- Mina asked.
- "That doesn't matter... what matters is that all of you will die and serve as a banquet in honor of Lady Tai!"- Kai throws his two hammers at the trio.
- "Now!"- Shoto said and the three jump to avoid Kai's hammers.
Shinso and Mina try to attack Kai with a couple of kicks, but he manages to dodge them while recovering his hammers, then Kai tries to attack Mina with a hammer but she, using her agility, avoids it and manages to kick him in the face.
However, that doesn't hurt Kai and he kicks Mina, sending her flying. He then begins to spin his hammers to attack Shoto and Shinso, who retreat from the attack, but Shinso tries to hit Kai only to be hit by a hammer, Kai then throws a hammer at Shoto but he creates an ice platform with which he jumps, surrounds his left fist with fire and hits Kai, who is knocked down for the first time.
Shinso, Shoto and Mina quickly regroup. - "Not bad for some students... don't you think?"- Shoto said.
This angers Kai who gets up and throws one of his hammers at Shoto, sending him flying, he then uses his other hammer to tangle a stalactite and, after detaching it from the ceiling, throw it at Mina and Shinso, Mina quickly fires a jet of acid that cuts the stalactite in half and prevents it from harming her or Shinso.
However, this was only a distraction since Kai takes advantage of this to hit Mina with one hammer and then try to hit Shinso with the other, but he dodges it and tries to attack Kai with a couple of kicks, but he simply dodges it with ease, Kai throws a hammer at Shinso but he catches it with one of his bandages and then catches Kai's arm with another one.
At that Kai watches as Mina approaches and quickly uses his strength to use Shinso's bandages against him, throwing him against Mina, at that Shoto returns and tries to attack Kai, but not before deflecting a hammer that Kai threw at him with a wall of ice.
Kai throws his second hammer at Shoto's feet but he manages to freeze it before it hits the ground, taking advantage of this, Shoto attacks Kai with a burst of fire but he manages to recover the first hammer and with enormous strength he throws the hammer which breaks the burst of fire and hits Shoto, sending him flying and falling next to Mina and Shinso.
- "Shoto!"- Mina said.
- "Too easy…"- Kai said as he retrieved his two hammers, the second one took him out of the ice by just pulling it, then he threw them and entangled Mina and Shinso with them. – "Get over here!"- Kai pulls Mina and Shinso towards him and knocks them down with a couple of punches to each of their faces.
- "No!"- Shoto said but is hit by Kai's hammer, then Kai entangles both hammers in another stalactite and throws it at Shoto, crushing him with it.
- "One less... two left!"- Kai said as he watches Mina and Shinso get up. – "You are not bad fighters... but you still have a very long way to go!"-
- "What do you think of this?!"- Mina said as she shoots a jet of acid at Kai, but Kai destroys the jet of acid with a blow from his hammer.
- "Too predictable."- Kai said as he looks at his hammer, not a single damage from the acid. – "My hammers are made of a special material that can resist fire, ice, acid, brute force... nothing can destroy them!"-
Kai charges at Mina and Shinso and swings his hammers at them, both jump to the sides to avoid Kai's attack, after this, Kai swings his hammer at Shinso who dodges the attack, then behind Kai appears Mina who shoots acid at Kai, but he protects himself with his hammers, then he throws one at Mina which knocks her down.
Shinso traps Kai's arm with his bandages, but Kai with his strength pulls Shinso and hits him with his hammer, then tries to throw him at him but a burst of fire hits his back.
Kai turns to look and is surprised to see Shoto, somewhat injured but unharmed by the stalactite attack. It is there that Kai realizes that Shoto managed to protect himself with a wall of ice before being hit by the stalactite. – "Lucky one!"- Kai throws the other hammer at Shoto but he protects himself with a wall of ice which breaks but he manages to deflect the hammer which falls before Shoto's feet.
- "Indeed, I'm lucky."- Shoto said.
Kai smiles and tries to retrieve one of his hammers but when he pulls the chain nothing comes back. Kai, seeing the chain, is surprised to see that the hammer is no longer connected to it. – "What the…"-
- "Looking for this?"- Mina said while at her feet is Kai's hammer. – "You said hammers are indestructible... but you didn't say anything about the chains!"-
Mina quickly covers the hammer in a bubble of acid to prevent Kai from recovering it. – "You no longer have your weapons..."- Shoto said as he freezes the second hammer. – "What are you going to do?"-
- "That doesn't matter... I'm capable of killing you without my hammers!"- Kai said.
- "Oh yeah? Well, not even using your hammers could you finish me... I highly doubt that you can do anything without them."- Shoto said.
- "You are very arrogant!"- Kai said.
- "Oh really? Why don't you show me what you're capable of?"- Shoto asked.
- "You will see!"- Kai said as he charges at Shoto, ready to hit him with his horns. – "I'll kill you this time!"-
- "I don't think so…"- Shoto said as he prepares his right side for a special attack. – "It's not ready yet but... there is no other alternative!"-
- "Die!"- Kai said.
- "Alien Queen, Brainstorm, take cover!"- Shoto said.
Upon hearing this, Mina and Shinso hide behind some rocks.
Once Kai is in front of Shoto he attacks with a new ice attack. – "Frozen Land!"- Shoto releases a gigantic amount of ice that not only freezes Kai, but also everything around him.
Mina and Shinso approach Shoto who has the right half of his body frozen, luckily with his fire he slowly defrosts. – "It's not ready yet... I need to find a way to not freeze myself... maybe if I combine this with Flashfire..."- Shoto thought.
- "Shoto! That was incredible!". Mina said.
- "Thanks... but it is not ready yet... we could say that it is a prototype version of the attack."- Shoto said. – "Good work with the hammers."-
- "Thanks."- Mina said. – "Now we just need to help Midori!"-
- "I agree... but first let's take a few minutes to catch our breath."- Shinso said.
- "I second the motion."- Shoto said.
Meanwhile, Izumi and Tai fight, Izumi is having a hard time matching Tai's speed, luckily by using Fa Jin along with One for All Izumi is able to follow Tai in the fight.
They both clash punches and then land on the ground and stare at each other. – "I have to admit...this is fun...it's been a while since I fought."- Tai said.
- "I don't care that you have fun... you are an unscrupulous murderer!"- Izumi said. – "What you do is horrible!"-
- "And you think I care what you have to say?"- Tai said. – "The previous leader would have been angry about that... but I'm different."-
- "Was there a leader before you? But Endeavor said that the wolf pack was founded by you." – Izumi said.
- "I created the wolf pack, that's right... but I created it by taking control of the group we used to be before."- Tai said. – "Have you ever heard of the Skytree Tower incident in Tokyo?"-
- "Yes, a terrorist group attacked the tower but the heroes managed to save everyone."- Izumi said. – "Wait... that group was you?"-
- "That's what we used to be... I always thought the vision of our previous leader, Cheetah, was pathetic."- Tai said. - "He wanted people with mutant quirks to be free, to no longer be hated for the simple fact of being born with quirks that alter our appearance, but his methods were... questionable."-
- "I don't think destroying a tower was a good idea."- Izumi said.
- "He wanted to send a message... but he failed, the heroes ruined his plans and in the end the group began to doubt him."- Tai said. – "After his disappearance in the incident and the arrest of his right-hand man, Ptera, I took control of the group and gave them a new vision, thus creating the wolf pack."-
- "New vision?"- Izumi asked. – "The one about being cannibals?"-
- "Not everyone in the wolf pack is cannibal, only me and my three lieutenants, Kai, Shen and Kenta are cannibals."- Tai said. – "The new vision of the wolf pack is to do what we want without caring about the opinions of others... if others don't accept us... that shouldn't matter to us! We will do what we want!"-
- "But you do bad things!"- Izumi said.
- "And who are you to decide what is good and bad?!"- Tai lets out a roar and jumps to attack Izumi with a downward kick, Izumi jumps back to avoid the kick which creates a crater on impact.
Tai takes a rock from the crater and throws it at Izumi who destroys it with a punch but Tai appears in front of her and punches her in the stomach which makes her retreat and fall to the ground.
- "That's what none of you understand!"- Tai said. – "You believe you are owners of the truth to decide what is right and what is not!"- Tai throws another rock at Izumi who destroys it with one hit, Tai attacks Izumi with his claws but Izumi dodges his attacks, then, after accumulating enough kinetic energy, Izumi jumps towards a wall at high speed and then attacks Tai with kick, but Tai catches Izumi's foot and then pushes her back.
Tai blocks two kicks from Izumi and then counters with his own, Izumi still dodges the kick by jumping back and then tries to attack Tai again with a punch, however Tai dodges the punch, takes Izumi by the neck and slams her against a wall and then throws her to the ground.
Izumi quickly gets up and grabs Tai by the leg as he tries to attack her with a kick, then throws her against the wall and attacks her with a punch, Tai jumps from the wall to another to dodge Izumi's attack, they both begin to jump between the walls, stalactites, and some natural pillars while they try to attack each other.
They both meet in mid-air where they begin to exchange blows, Izumi manages to trap Tai in a key and tries to slam her into the ground but Tai frees himself and sends Izumi flying with a kick until she crashes against a wall.
Izumi falls to the ground and Tai charges at her, hitting her multiple times with Izumi unable to keep up with Tai. – "You can't beat me! Since I was four I have trained to become strong!"- Tai said as she hits Izumi several times. – "Someone like you with a very powerful quirk would never understand what it's like to strive to be strong!"-
Tai hits Izumi with a couple of hard punches and sends her flying until she falls to the ground, Izumi tries to get up but has difficulty. – "Yes... my quirk is very powerful... so much so that I couldn't control it..."- Izumi said. – "I know what it's like to train hard until you can't take it anymore... only for you to encounter people stronger than you... I know everything you had to go through... it's hard..."-
- "How nice..."- Tai said with a sad voice but then she grabs Izumi by the neck and lifts her up, choking her. – "But I didn't ask for your understanding! I don't need it! I don't care what you think!"-
Tai is about to stab Izumi with her claws but at that... – "Hey!"- Mina's voice interrupts her, and Tai looks at Shoto, Mina and Shinso. – "You still have to beat us!"-
- "What friends you have... they can't let me kill you..."- Tai said as she drops Izumi to the ground. – "Very well... I'll kill you first!"-
Tai charges at the trio, Shoto attacks with a blast of ice but Tai jumps and dodges it and heads towards Shoto but in that Mina, helped by Shinso who gave her momentum, manages to kick him in the chest and push her away.
- "Interesting... that was a good hit, Pinky"- Tai said.
Furious at being called that, Mina attacks Tai but she easily blocks all of Mina's blows, even so Mina stands on her hands and grabs Tai by the head using her legs and then throws her to the ground, however Tai simply flips and lands on his feet.
Shinso joins the fight and tries to attack Tai along with Mina but Tai easily blocks all of their attacks, Shinso manages to trap Tai's arm with his bandages and Mina kicks Tai's face, but she does not retreat and, after cutting the bandages with her claws, continues attacking them both.
Tai grabs Shinso by the leg and throws him at Mina and they both fall to the ground and are then hit by Tai who sends them flying, at that Shoto attacks Tai with a burst of fire, forcing her to jump back, which Shinso and Mina take advantage of to hit her with a couple of kicks, even so Tai recovers easily and grabs them by the neck to throw them towards Shoto.
Tai lets out a roar and charges at them. – "Get ready!"- Shoto attacks Tai with a burst of fire, forcing her to jump back. – "Now!"-
The three charge at her, Shoto is the first to hit with an ice-covered punch, then Mina jumps from behind Shoto and lands a kick against Tai, then Shinso catches Tai with his bandages and attacks her whit another kick so that finally Shoto can trap her in an iceberg.
After a few seconds the three relax. – "We did it!"- Mina said.
- "Yeah… that was a nice team combo."- Shinso said.
Shoto approaches the iceberg. – "It was complicated but we did it, we have to tell Endeavor and the others that..."- Shoto said but did not finish speaking when he noticed that only Shinso's bandages were in the iceberg, Tai was not there. – "She's not there!"-
At that Tai lands right behind the three who turn to look at her in surprise. – "I must admit... you are very good..." - At that Tai hits Shoto in the chest, knocking him down with a single blow. – "But you still have a lot to learn!"- Tai continues her attack.
Izumi regains consciousness when she hears a roar and when she turns to see her gaze is filled with despair, both Shoto, Mina and Shinso are on the ground completely defeated, however her gaze focuses on Mina who has a wound on her shoulder. provided by Tai's claws, the wound is bleeding.
Izumi can only feel angry when she sees her friends and, above all, her girlfriend in that state, all because she didn't want to use all her quirks when they are present, clenching her fists Izumi gets up from the ground and covers her right fist with her left hand.
- "Are you sure of this... they are out of combat but if they see you..."- Kudo asked in her mind.
- "I don't care... she hurt Mina..."- Izumi said in her mind as she activated Gearshift, the second holder's quirk.
Gearshift allows the user to change the speed at which things accelerate through space. It is even capable of changing speeds while ignoring the laws of inertia.
- "This time I won't hold anything back!"- Izumi said in her mind.
- "You have five minutes to finish this... if you manage to overcome it with a single Gearshift the side effects will not be so serious."- Kudo said.
- "Understood!"- Izumi begins to expel smoke from her hands, thanks to the smoke screen, which covers the entire place.
- "What the…"- Tai said and with a movement of her hands she cleans the place of smoke and to her surprise the three that she defeated are no longer there. When she turns to look she can see Izumi leaving Mina in a safe place with Shinso and Shoto. – "That was fast… I didn't even hear her…"-
- "Midori…"- Mina said in a low tone.
- "I'm sorry... this is my fault... let me end this fight..."- Izumi said.
- "But…"- Mina said but is surprised to see smoke coming out of Izumi's hands. – "That's new... how can you…"-
- "I promise to explain it later... I only have less than five minutes left to finish this... trust me."- Izumi said.
- "Always…"- Mina said.
- "You... I don't know how you did that but..."- Tai said. – "You won't beat me!"-
Tai attacks Izumi at high speed with a punch, but to his surprise Izumi catches his fist with impressive ease, and speed. – "I don't think you understand... I'm not going to hold back anymore." - Suddenly Tai is sent flying by Izumi's punch so fast that no one saw it.
Tai crashes into a wall creating a crater. – "What was that? I didn't see it!"- Tai thought while recovering from the blow.
- "So fast... what's happening?"- Mina thought.
Izumi smiles and uses Gearshift to move at high speed without being noticed, thus generating a large amount of kinetic energy for Fa Jin. – "Gearshift and Fa Jin... it's time to try this combination!"- She thought.
Tai quickly attacks Izumi with several punches and kicks but is surprised by how easily Izumi blocks each and every one of her attacks, Izumi hits Tai in the stomach and then blocks a couple more blows and then grabs Tai's leg as she tries to kick her, Izumi slams Tai to the ground and then grabs her by her wolf tail and pulls her up to punch her in the face and kick her in the stomach.
Tai, out of desperation, tries to bite Izumi but she protects herself with Tai's own tail, causing her to bite herself, then he gives her a strong kick that makes her crash several times against the floor and then against the wall, creating a crater.
Tai comes out of the crater and glares at Izumi. – "No... this can't be happening... someone like you can't defeat me!"- Tai said but suddenly Izumi appears in front of her.
- "Like you told me... I don't care what you think." - Izumi said while preparing a punch. – "The wolf pack ends here and now!"- Izumi hits Tai against the wall which breaks completely.

A few moments before with the heroes, they have just defeated all the enemies, having Kenta and Shen captured. – "We did it... but the leader escaped... she tricked us."- Endeavor said.
- "Endeavor... I can't find the students!"- A hero said with concern.
- "What?!"- Aizawa said.
- "What?! How can you not find them?!"- Endeavor said.
- "I don't know... I don't know where they are!"- The hero said.
Just then the nearby wall is destroyed and the heroes see Izumi hitting Tai. – "Smash! Triple!"- Izumi uses Gearshift to hit Tai three times at the same time and send her flying into the wall, defeating her.
- "Deku?!"- Endeavor said with surprise.
- "Hey!"- Mirko said. – "That's the leader!"-
- "She defeated her!"-
- "Lady Tai!"- Kenta said.
- "Impossible!"- Shen said.
Izumi looks at Tai, who is unconscious in front of her and takes a breath and then deactivates Gearshift, at that moment Izumi feels like she is running out of air and little by little she is suffocating. – "W-What's going on?!"- She thought.
- "The side effects that Gearshift has now that it has become so powerful, now the air doesn't enter your body normally."- Kudo said. – "Just try to control your breathing... you're lucky you only used Gearshift once... the more times you use it the worse the side effects are.".
Izumi does what is indicated and I feel how she is slowly recovering. - "Deku!"- Endeavor said. – "What happened?!"-
- "N-Not me!"- Izumi said while trying to control her breathing. – "The... others are... they need medical attention."-
Endeavor enters through the hole in the wall and encounters several things, first is Kai who is still frozen, then he looks at an unconscious Shinso and Shoto and a barely unconscious Mina bleeding from her left shoulder.
- "Quick, we need medical attention!"- Endeavor said as he approaches Kai and begins to unfreeze him. – "And something to subdue this guy!" –
The heroes quickly took care of the situation and after a few minutes the police arrived to take away all the members of the wolf pack.
- "Everyone will be in a nearby jail, except for the leader, Tai, and her three lieutenants, Kai, Kenta and Shen, who will be taken to Tartarus immediately."- An officer said.
- "Good."- Endeavor said and then he goes to where Izumi, Mina, Shoto and Shinso are being treated by paramedics. – "Shoto, Deku... good job, especially you, Deku."-
- "I-It was nothing... I did what I had to do.". Izumi said.
- "Alien Queen, good job too."- Crust said. – "I knew bringing you was the right thing to do."-
- "Thanks!"- Mina said.
- "You too Brainstorm, for being your first job as a real hero you did extremely well."- Edgeshot said.
- "Thanks…"- Shinso said.
- "Shit...what the hell with all this smoke?"- Mirko said.
- "Right... what is that smoke? I don't remember seeing it..."- Endeavor said.
This made Izumi tense, which Mina noticed. – "W-Well... you see..."- Izumi tried to explain but couldn't think of anything.
- "Maybe Shoto set something on fire..."- Mina quickly said. – "It was a difficult fight and I think we didn't take much into account our surroundings."-
- "Right... Sorry about the smoke."- Shoto said.
Izumi looks in surprise at Mina who winks at her. – "I don't know what's going on... but it's definitely something secret... isn't it, Midori?"- Mina thought.
And if like Izumi could read Mina's mind she smiles. – "I think I found the person to trust with the secret..."- She thought.
Meanwhile, the police are ready to take the prisoners to prison and the leaders to Tartarus. – "Make sure they get to Tartarus, understood?"- The chief said to two officers.
- "Yes!"- They said.
Once inside the vehicle they begin their path but not towards Tartarus. - "It's a shame what happened, don't you think?"- One of the officers said.
- "Why do you care about that? What's more... Why am I answering you?!"- Tai said.
At that, both policemen smile and both make the Meta Liberation Army sign. - "It's your lucky day, Supreme Commander Tomura has an offer for you..."- The officer said. – "Would you be interested in carrying out revenge?"-
Seeing the sign made by the officers Tai can't help but smile. – "I'm all ears."- She said.

Hiro is also mentioned, apparently Kai is one of the slaves he made.
This arc didn't seem very important but in the end it is... the wolf pack will return!
At first I thought about adapting the third movie... but it's been a while since I saw it and I have several fuzzy details so I decided to make this arc as well as create the wolf pack that will have importance in the final arc.
Well nothing, the next chapter will be the last of this arc and then we will return to Yamikumo!
Another thing... many of you asked me this... Where are Momo and Setsuna since they were interned with Majestic, right?
Well, that has a very simple explanation... I forgot about that!

More things to talk about... What did you think of the seventh season of My Hero Academia?
Personally, I liked the Opening, the song is amazing, but the opening as such… it's just not one of the best, my favorite is, and always will be, the first, The Day.
But! It's Ending... OH MY GOD! It's a masterpiece! It's Incredible! It is my favorite ending of My Hero Academia, especially because of the references in the Ending since being a reader of the Manga I understood several of the Ending's references and the song is great.
Finally... this story is officially longer than The Digital Hero, since, as you know, The Digital Hero ended in chapter 69 and this story has already reached that chapter and still has to finish... two more arcs to be exact. What do you think? Will this story reach 100 chapters?
