'Laila walked with a basket sheets walking down the hall going to the chamber about enter until a man stepped out seeing her. She moved back to bow as the man let stand her straight going into his chambers to change his bedding. Once she was done someone walked in looking to see a half naked woman with long straight black hair looking at her with disgust and hate. Laila moaned turning on her side in her sleep feeling the dizziness coming back. "Im not going to listen to any of this, Masika." said a man's voice. "But you must or things will go bad for us. Please im telling you the truth." said a woman. Laila remained still not seeing a figure dressed in all black coming into her room holding a sword in his gloved hand approaching her slowly. She suddenly gasped in fear sitting up from her bed breathing heavily looking around confused until she saw the man before her. 'What do you think your doing here?' said Laila looking at him. the man holding the sword closed at her closely then widened his eyes in shock lowering his weapon and kneeled down to her. 'Forgive me. I did not realize you'd be here. You must leave now. I'll let the others know.' said the man. "Just do what you must." said Laila grabbing her things she needed while the man fled. "Laila?!" said Rick running. "Im going let me grab my horse." said Laila swinging her bag of weapons on her back ad ran out. She rushed the stables while blocking of the bullets fired at her to the horses and camels. Laila opened the door to Medjet guiding him off the boat into the river jumping on after him and pulled him to shore. She looked to seeing Evie swimming over helping her up with Rick and Jonathan join them watching the boat burn in front of them. "Thats just great. We lost everything. All of our equipment. All my clothes. Laila hand me a coat." said Evie seeing her bag. "This has nothing but my knives and guns." said Laila walking ahead. "Great." said EVie as a guy called from acros the river. "Hey! O'Connell! Looks to me i got all the horses!" said the guy that Laila met once. "Hey Beni. Looks to me your on wrong side of the river!" said Rick as Laila kept on going. "Come on Medjet." said Laila as the horse shook off the water aa bit before walking beside her. "He's yours." said Evie. "Yeah. A gift from a good friend." said Laila looking at her. "There is a village four miles from here." she says s they walked into a village and rest for the night.
The next morning the girls were getting dressed by the women while keeping the Warren from going in. Laila was done with her makeup and was handed back her bag walking out to the boys getting the camels. "Could you pay the man. All w can go as give him our sister or . . ." "Or what?" said Laila walking over. "Nothing." said Jonathan as Evie came over with the women. "You look amazing." said Laila looking at her. "You're not bad yourself." said Evie. "I'm gonna go get Medjet." said Laila walking away from the group. Laila saw Medjet being walked over by one of the men handing the reins to her and did a bow with her returning it. She placed her bag up the saddle and climbed don his back riding to the group who were following Rick. "Ready to do this?" said Laila riding next to Rick. "Are you?" said Rick looking at her. "lets just get tis over with." said Laila. They all rode through the hot desert for days until it was dark out Laila felt eyes on them crossing a certain area that she recognized glancing up seeing at least six horses with their masters watching them closely. She knew one was looking right her until they gotten to the city by morning coming across Beni and the Americans. "What are we doing here?" said one of the Americans. "Patients my friend." said Beni. "Wait for it." said Rick as Evie was on the other side of him. "Wait for what?" said Evie. "We're about to be shown the way." said Laila not taking her eyes off the horizon. She watched the sun rising revealing the cliffs and the city from the mirage disappearing which signaled everyone to race to the city except her. Laila took her time until they entered the city and looked around before getting off of Medjet letting him join the other horses. She walked over helping set their digs up and jumped down after Rick seeing that they are in a preparation room for the dead. 'I dont like this.' said Laila walking between Evie and Jonathan down a dark tunnel with cobwebs. They began hearing the scattering sounds of the scarabs all around them. Continuing on they saw the rest of the statue of Anubis and looked at the area for anything dangerous like hidden booby traps or the scarabs that heard earlier. A loud moan made Rick and the others except to ready to their guns leaning against the statue for cover before turning the cover seeing it was the Americans pointing their guns back at them in fear. 'Masika. a voice whispered in Laila's right ear making her turn to see nothing. She kept looking for any thing while Rick and the Americans talked until Evie told that they can have the statue and waked over to her. "Laila?" said Evie getting her to look at her. "Are you alright?" said Evie. "yeah. I think so. Im gonna go have a look around for anymore surprises." said Laila walking away.
After in a short amount of time riding Medjet away from the city to the cliffs she looked around spotting two men getting out of their tent talking in Arabic until they soon enough saw her. 'Where is he?' said Laila getting off of Medjet walking towards them. "He's inside speaking with the council. We'll inform him that your here." said one of the men walking inside. Laila sighed looking over the cliff carefully seeing the city from there feeling off since they got here. "What are you doing here? Whats wrong?" said a mans voice walking over to her. "This feels different. I been feeling different Ardeth since the key was found." said Laila looking at the man. he was dressed in all black except his face wasnt covered showing a his long short hair, beard and the noticeable tattoos in his cheeks. "What do you men different?" said Ardeth. "I have getting flashbacks and now whispering of the name, Masika." said Laila. "She's the servant of Pharaoh Ahmanet until she disappeared three thousand years ago. Pharoah Ahmanet and Seti the first were close allies." said Ardeth as Laila gave him a look. "Thanks for the summarization." said Laila. "You shouldn't have come back." said Ardeth. "I know but my friend saved my best friends life. She's not going to give up on finding something. Same for the Americans." said Laila then suddenly turned to the city feeling something. "Laila?" said Ardeth in concern. "I have to go back down there." said Laila not taking her eyes off the city. Ardeth breathed from his nose grabbing her chin gently turn her head to look at him while his other hand was on her waist. "Be careful and let me know if they found anything. We'll be having a visti down there tonight." said Ardeth. "I will." said Laila kissing him sweetly before she whistled for Medjet. Laila climbed on and rode down to the city until they reach to the dig. She jumped down and grabbed a torch to find the group until she heard a scream following it. Laila saw the Warren screaming while grabbing his head while Evie, Rick, ad Jonathan peeked out of the room they were in seeing the Warren run past them screaming until he slammed into a wall dropping dead. "Oh Allah." said Laila as she looked at the three. "I think we done of looking for today." said Rick leading the way out while Laila went past them to see what they had found. 'Oh no. They found him.' Lila thought seeing the sarcophagus with the key. She then heard Evie coming with Rick behind her and grabbed it hiding it in her dress pocket that was hidden before they saw her doing it. "Did yo find us anything from the Americans friends of ours?" said RIck. "No. Too many witnesses. What with the sarcophagus?" said Laila looking at it. "We dont know much except he doesnt have a name. i was just coming back for the key. That's odd. i sworn i left it right here." said Evie seeing it was gone. "You sure Jonathan didnt take it." said Laila. "He couldve after all we stolen from all of us." she says shrugging walking out. "Maybe. besides im sure we find ourselves something to eat and talk." said Evie following her out with Rick behind them looking around.
