Chapter 47: The Battle for Clover Castle

"It won't be much longer, you vile pests." Ratri led his group of reincarnated elves to the royal castle.

"What are so many members of the Golden Dawn doing here?" the troop leader of the Castle Knights addressed the unexpected arrivals. "This area is protected by us, the Castle Knights. You need to hurry and go help the citizens."

"We have business with the humans beyond that door." Ratri informed.

"What kind of sick joke is that at a time like this?" the Crimson Lion Kings mage demanded. "The castle where the three great royal families live lie beyond this gate. Even Magic Knights may not enter without permission."

"That's just a stupid rule that you humans made up." Ratri snarled. With a wave of his hand, he sliced through the gates with his Spatial Magic. "Like I care."

"This is treason." the Crimson Lion Kings mage barked. "Capture them."

"Compass Magic: Willful Compass." Kivn activated her spell and diverted their opponents' spells from Ratri. "I'll leave the rest to you." she informed the other four reincarnated elves after Ratri took off to the Clover Castle.

"So, that hole in the castle gate really was Langris." Finral realized, he and Yami were hurrying to the battlefield via his portal.

"I could care less about the royals, but that ki..." Yami remarked. "Looks like our hime-sama got forced into the battlefield by that bunch of tough characters. We'll have to let the other guys handle the town. We're going in, Finral."

The two Black Bull mages arrived to the fight to see the four elves skidding back as a result of their attacks rebounding on the energy barrier Rhiannon manifested.

"Yami." Finral called out, sending his Squad leader into a portal.

"Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Avidya Blunt Strike." Yami exited from the portal, readying his attack at the stone mage, only to have him dodge the sword strike and the wind mage to blow him off.

"All of these guys are brimming with magical energy." Finral remarked, bringing Yami back to safety. "And there are, like, dozens of them."

"You aren't trying to kill us?" the leading elf mocked. "How naive."

"I have plenty of reasons to kill you." Yami corrected. "At least, the you who had the nerve to take that body, as if it belongs to you."

"Such nonsense." the ice mage retorted, firing off a water beam.

"Dark Magic: Black Hole." dashing forward, Yami absorbed the spell but was forced back by the tornado the winder user cast.

"It doesn't matter how many of you humans try and attack us." the elves declared. "You cannot wi..." the brag was cut off by a slash.

"Damn it, you bastards." Jack rebuked. "Getting your bodies taken over and forcing our Commander-in-Chief to take the frontlines. Talk about entertainment."

"I'm glad you didn't turn on us, you giant string bean." Yami smirked.

"Who'd get taken over with this much fun to be had, you stupid blockhead." Jack fired back.

"We won't let any of you leave alive, humans." the Corundum mage growled, summoning his 'Ideal Closer' armor.

"Enchantment: Balthazar's Spirit." now, standing alongside the two Magic Knight Captain via Finral's portal, Rhiannon cast her augment spell on the two Captains.

"Slash Magic: Death Scythe." Jack fired his attack.

"You won't be able to cut through my magic with that." the Corundum mage mocked, blocking the Slash Magic mage's attack for the wind user.

"Death Scythe." Jack renewed his assault, Yami was cornered by the ice and poison mages.

"It's useless." the Corundum mage taunted.

"This is such a pain in the ass." Yami muttered. "Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Avidya Wild Slash. You get it by now, don't you, you giant green bean weirdo?" he grinned as Finral evacuated the injured Castle Knights.

"Hell yeah, I do." Jack smirked. "Slash Magic: Death Scythe." he formed an even larger blade. "There's nothing I can't sever." he took out the corundum armor. "Now, show me you're worth slashing apart."

"Impossible..." the Corundum mage was stunned. "The property of the magic itself changed?"

"Found someone who let his guard down." Yami appeared behind him. "Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Avidya Blunt Strike. I think you're starting to see it, too, Finral." he gave his subordinate the go-ahead.

"Spatial Magic: Fallen Angel Gate." Finral used his portals to swap Yami and Jack and allow them to dodge the incoming ice and wind attacks.

The two Captains then reappeared behind their opponents and took them out.

At the Silva Residence...

Nebra and the still recovering Solid were under siege by Kivn.

With Yami's group...

"There's something crazy in there." Jack remarked, seeing the elves' massive hideout closing in. "Looks like this is gonna be more fun now."

"We will not let the castle fall, no matter what." Nozel swore, his group arriving just in front of the hideout.

"Nozel, Noelle, Zora, head over to the Silva Residence." Rhiannon went into Commander-in-Chief mode. "Kirsch, Mimosa, En, evacuate any survivors. Remember, don't attack recklessly. Understood?"

"Yes, madam!" the gathered Magic Knights chorused and split into three groups.

At the Silva Residence...

"Nozel-nii-sama..." Solid gasped, when Nozel's mercury shield blocked Kivn's compass needles.

"Mana Skin." Noelle wasted no time in casting her spell. "Water Creation Magic: Sea Dragon's Roar."

Compass Magic: Willful Compass." Kivn countered.

"Mist Magic: Bewildering Forest of Mist." Nerba cast her mist cloud as a distraction.

"I won't let any of you get away." Kivn promised. "Compass Magic: Another Atlas." she dispelled the mist and locked everyone in a spherical shield of mana. "You won't be able to leave this place unless you defeat me. This spell forcibly disturbs the mana in this area. No matter how powerful your magic, your spell won't hit me now. However, my spells won't fail to hit you." she fired her needles at Nozel's mercury construct as demonstration, one of the needles piercing his shoulder. "Come, Noelle. Let's show her the true power of the royal House of Silva."
