Chapter 4: Kidnapped
That night, Poppy slept peacefully in a matchbox with a blanket, provided by Thumbelina, who slept in a walnut bed.
The window creaked open, revealing a figure in scarlet. The said figure hopped over to the walnut bed, seeing the tiny human girl sleeping.
"Gotcha!" the scarlet figure said, slamming the walnut bed shut.
"What?" Thumbelina shouted, seeing she was inside her walnut bed.
Poppy gasped as she awoke from the loud impact. She rubbed her eyes and she turned to see the walnut bed was no longer beside her. "Thumbelina!" So, she removed her blanket and put on her grass green cloak. She followed the figure, who took her friend in hot pursuit.
Hero woke up in confusion, upon hearing his friend's shout.
"Help, Hero! Poppy! Let me out of here!" Thumbelina cried.
Poppy threw her bag in front of the window and landed on her bag, blocking the figure's view.
"A mouse?" the figure gasped in a Spanish accent. "Move it!"
"Release my friend!" Poppy demanded.
The figure ignored her and pushed her bag aside.
Poppy whistled. "Hero!" she shouted.
The old dog followed the mouse's command and leapt in front of the window, trapping the figure.
"A dog!" the figure gasped, upon seeing the dog growl at her. "Ay! Get away from me!" She hopped around the room as Hero and Poppy began to chase her.
Poppy lunged at the intruder, who was kidnapping her friend and Hero accidentally knocked over furniture as he was in hot pursuit in saving his friends.
The teen mouse still clutched onto the kidnapper and her bag as the figure finally managed to open the window and hop out.
Hero leapt out only for a kite to wrap around his leg and the wind to take him, but he made sure he skimmed down to the water to reach for his friend's bed and the mouse.
To his horror, the captor escaped through the river hole in the wall. Just as he was about to reach them, he found himself stuck and howled sadly as the figure got away with the mouse teen and tiny teen girl.
The figure took off her mask and waved it at Hero, laughing, revealing pink hair and a green face.
