The sounds of the windows breaking reached us alongside the screams of men and women.

"Come on boy go find her, if you're lucky she's still alive," I hear the guild master say.

I look at him briefly and notice that the knives that he is using are dripping with an acid that affects flesh but it doesn't affect anything like stone or metal.

The acid is from a snake, no the creature is more like a worm that dissolves its food before it eats it.

I look for a weapon that I can use, I don't have any extra swords at the moment, and I need to replace the one I just lost.

The guild master's arrival alongside the sudden deaths of the men he killed gives me time to see a double-headed ax in the wall, it must have gotten stuck when the group was attacking me.

I don't say anything, I grab the ax and walk out of the room.

I used to be a lot more brutal and I lived up to my mane Reaper. That name was something that everyone knew and respected for a reason.

If I've become so weak that men like these can stop me, does that mean that I'm not doing the right thing by choosing not to be a monster?

I walk past the dark classrooms where the men are fighting, I can't see them but I can hear them. The lights flicker on and off revealing the blood-covered walls, ceiling, and floor of the hallway.

From the corner of my eyes, I see the men fighting for their lives.

Some are the Vikings, some are the students, and a few are the members of my guild, but all of them are outnumbered by another group. This group looks like they have been through hell and are attacking everyone that gets close to them.

I would wonder who they were or how they became a part of this but if I have to be honest, I don't care.

My help screen turns on, the girl is finally using the word that I gave her to locate her.

I don't bother activating the portal, the thing is automatic, so the only thing that I have to do is walk and I'll emerge wherever she is.

I walk out of what looks like a wall. Damm" I say to myself when I see the giant creature that can barely fit inside of the room that I just walked into.

I look to the other side and it's only because the lights come back on that I see the group of cowardly teens and adults. I wish that I could say that they were the only ones here, but for whatever reason there are children and infants here.

One of the creatures roars before it charges at me. "Twinkle, thwinke!" I hear the girl desperately saying to herself over and over again.

"Little star." I answer her with a cold voice that silences her and forces the creature to stop moving for a second.

The voice only lasts for a moment, but I only need a moment.

Anyone would say that killing a creature that's bigger and stronger than you is either impossible or extremely difficult, is ignoring two of the weaknesses that everyone shares, the back of the head and the neck.

I may have killed both of those things in an anticlimactic way, but there's no way that I can defeat them and protect the girl at the same time.

I watch the creatures' bodies fall while the lights turn on and off I don't know how but for whatever reason they look as if they are falling slower than usual.

I feel the girl's hand on mine, I turn to look at her, while I try to ignore the sound os of battle outside.

"Where is he?" I ask her about the man that I left her with.

She points at the door. "It won't be long now." I say to her before I turn my attention to the people behind her.
