Chapter 40-Returning to Azgeda
Clarke's P.O.V
Clarke and Murphy look at Arthur in shock as the man stares at them. "You're...You're Lexa's father?" Clarke asks.
"You know her?" Arthur asks.
"Oh yeah, she knows her," Murphy says with a smirk.
"Shut up," Clarke growls.
"What is he talking about?" Arthur asks Clarke.
"I'm your daughter's girlfriend," Clarke says after a moment.
"Oh," Arthur says.
"I'm amazed at how lucky you are," Murphy says.
"Shut the hell up, John."
"I see I have missed a lot," Arthur says as he sits down. "Is she happy?"
"I hope so," Clarke says. "She makes me happy, you're going to be really proud of her."
"Is she in Polis?" Arthur asks.
"No, Polis is gone," Clarke tells him. "Like we said, there is a lot to catch you up on."
"Where is she?" Arthur asks.
"Azgeda," Clarke answers. "That's where Indra and Anya are as well."
"What about Gustus and Titus?" Arthur asks.
"Dead," Clarke answers. "Titus was killed by an assassin and Gustus, he died protecting me," Clarke tells him.
"So we go back to Azgeda now?" Murphy asks.
"Yeah, we got what we want, it's time to return and figure out our next move," Clarke says. "if we ride through the night, we should arrive by sunrise. Before they wait up. We only have two horses though."
"I'll share with our friend, we can fill him in on everything on the way there," Murphy says.
"Alright, let's go see my daughter," Arthur says as they stand and he leaves.
Lexa's P.O.V
The next day
Lexa was woken up when she heard her door open. She lays her hand on her knife under her pillow. "I don't think you want to stab me, I won't be very useful to you, dead," Clarke says as she walks up to the bed. Lexa quickly gets up and turns towards her girlfriend.
"You're back," Lexa says and Clarke nods as Lexa kisses her. "Are you okay?" Lexa asks.
"I am," Clarke says. "Lexa, I need to show you something," Clarke says. "Get dressed."
Lexa nods as Clarke leaves the room. A couple of minutes Lexa leaves the room and looks at Clarke who leads her to the war room. Clarke opens the door and Lexa looks at her confused before she walks into the room. Lexa stops when she sees Arthur standing on the other side of the table as Clarke shuts the door. The father and daughter stare at each other, neither of them knowing what to say.
After a minute of silence Lexa speaks. "Dad?"
"Hi, Lexa," Arthur says as he slowly moves towards her. "I thought I knew what I would say to you, but seeing you now, the woman you've become, the stories I was told on the way here. All I can say is that I'm proud you and I am so sorry for leaving you," Arthur says as he stops in front of his daughter. Lexa wraps her arms around her father who quickly hugs his daughter back. After a moment Lexa lets him go and wipes the tears from her face.
"How are you here? Indra told me you were taken by Mount Weather."
"I was," Arthur says as he looks at Clarke.
"Mount Weather turns our people in reapers," Clarke tells her. "They turned him into one."
"How is he here then?" Lexa asks.
"Your girlfriend is pretty amazing," Arthur says.
"I know," Clarke says. "They inject the reapers with a drug," Clarke says as she walks up to Arthur. "May I?" Arthur nods as Clarke moves his shirt showing Lexa the marks on his neck. "It turns them into a reaper, they need the drug to survive. I was able to keep him chained up until it was out of his system and after he died, and I brought him back. My Mom's training continues to save lives," Clarke tells her.
"Not only do they drain my people of their blood, they turn them into monsters who kill their owns?" Lexa asks in anger.
"Yes, I imagine they use reapers as guards. If we can't get past them, we can't get into Mount Weather," Clarke says. "We have a lot to talk about."
"Octavia and Lincoln will be leaving soon to take the women in children to a village in Podakru. Before they leave, we will all talk," Lexa says.
"I'm going to give you two a moment alone, I'm going to go find my Dad," Clarke says. She kisses Lexa's cheek and leaves the room.
"I never thought I would see you again," Lexa says. "The day Indra came to Polis to tell me that you were taken. I wanted to talk my armies and lead them to Mount Weather, but I knew what would happen."
"I'm glad you didn't," Arthur says as he sits down and motions for his daughter to sit down beside him.
"What did Clarke tell you?"
"Everything from the moment she got to the ground," Arthur answers. "But she also told me about your Coalition. You're the first Commander to ever bring all of the clans together."
"It wasn't easy," Lexa says. "It took a lot of blood."
"But you did it," Arthur says as he lays his hand on Lexa's shoulder. "I lost a lot of time because of the Mountain. All I want now is to spend time with my daughter, to meet the person she has people."
"I would like that," Lexa says with a gentle smile as she hugs him once more.
Murphy's P.O.V
Murphy stood outside of the castle and looked at the door as it opened and Clarke walked out. "How did it go?" Murphy asks.
"Good," Clarke answers. "I thought you would be going to see Wells?"
"I will," Murphy says. "You going to see Jake?" Clarke nods.
"I am, but I wanted to talk to you, first," Clarke says. "I wanted to say thank you, for inviting me, it did help to get away from everything. Even if we were killing people,"
"No problem," Murphy says. "You're not so bad, Princess."
"Thanks cockroach," Clarke says with a smirk. "We'll gather everybody in about an hour."
"See you then," Murphy says to Clarke who nods as she walks away. Murphy then walks into the castle and asks a guard where Wells was. He goes to the room and pushes the door open. He pushes the door open and sees Wells on the floor while Monty and Jasper slept on the bed, Miller and Harper were both on the floor as well. Murphy walks over to Wells and taps his foot against his best friend's back. Wells opens his eyes. "You guys had a slumber party without me?" Murphy asks with a smirk.
"Murphy," Wells says as he quickly stands. The others wake up as Wells hugs Murphy.
"It's go to see you too, Wells," Murphy says as Wells let's him go.
"How did it go?" Jasper asks as he gets up. "You better say good because it is too early for me to be awake."
"It went good," Murphy says. "We're going to gather everybody in an hour and we'll talk. Now Jasper, move I need to sleep," Murphy says as Jasper moves and Murphy falls on the bed. "Wake me up when Clarke sends for us."
"I see his trip hasn't changed him," Harper says with a smirk as she leaves the room.
Jake's P.O.V
Jake sat at his desk, Jake barley slept and now he spends most of his night staring out the window. Right now he was making plans to repair the Skaikru village. Jake turns around when his door opens and Clarke walks in. "You're back," Jake says as he stands up and hugs his daughter. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Clarke says. "What are you doing up?"
"Making plans," Jake says as he sits back down. "Once this war is over, we'll have to repair our village."
"Yes we do," Clarke says as she sits down beside her father. "You having trouble sleeping?"
"Yes," Jake admits. "Did you find out anything?"
"I did," Clarke says. "I'm going to start gathering the others. Be in the war room in about twenty minutes," Clarke tells her father who nods as she leaves.
Clarke's P.O.V
Clarke stood with Lexa and Arthur. The first person to enter the room was Indra who stopped when she saw Arthur. "Arthur?"
"It is good to see you, Indra," Arthur says as he walks towards her. "I have missed you old friend," Arthur says as he extends his arm to Indra who grabs it.
"How are you here?" Indra asks. "The Mountain had you."
"I will explain everything when everybody is here, Indra," Clarke tells the Trikru who nods. It took ten minutes for the everybody else to show up. "Are we ready?"
"Yes," Lexa says. "Begin."
"As you all know, Murphy and I left to gather information on the Mountain. Our suspicions were right, Nia is working with Mount Weather," Clarke says as she looks at Roan.
"Can't say I'm surprised," Roan says. "It takes away the element of Suprise."
"Clarke made sure we lost that," Murphy says.
"Shut up, John," Clarke says. "We also found out that the Mountain control the acid fog."
"It would make sense," Raven says. "They use it when we get to close, it ensures that no one will get close to the entrance to Mount Weather."
"Could we destroy it?" Lexa asks as she looks at Raven.
"Yeah, probably, but not from out here, we would need someone on the inside," Raven tells her.
Lexa nods as she looks at Clarke again. "Now for the last thing," Clarke says as she looks at Arthur. "This is Arthur, he is Lexa's father," Clarke says.
"I thought your Dad was dead," Octavia says as she looks at Arthur.
"So did I," Lexa says.
"Arthur was taken by the Mountain after Lexa became Commander," Clarke says. "He was turned into a reaper by the Mountain."
"The Mountain men turn our people in reapers?" Luna asks Clarke who nods as she walks up to Arthur who nods as Clarke pulls his shirt down.
"They inject them with some kind of drug," Clarke says. "Makes them addicted to it and they need to survive. Without the drug they will die."
"Then how is he alive?" Costia asks.
"He did die," Clarke says. "I was able to bring him back."
"Bring him back?" Anya asks from where she sat. She was still hearing from her injuries.
"It's something my Mom taught me. I'll be happy to teach your healers," Clarke says.
"Does that mean we could save all the reapers?" Indra asks.
"I doubt it," Clarke answers. "I got lucky with Arthur. We night be able to save all of them, but we might be able to save some. But we should wait for the Ark, Jackson will be able to help me," Clarke tells them.
"So what is the plan now then?" Wells asks.
"It doesn't change," Lexa says. "We cannot do anything until the Ark falls."
"She's right, we can't, we don't have what we need," Clarke says. "But I need to know something, do you have any allies left on the Ark."
"Charlotte," Wells answers. "She's a kid, who was a part of our friend group until she got arrested, Murphy told her everything before we left, hopefully she has been making friends in the sky box. Why?"
"Because we're going to need as many as possible when Jaha comes down. As many as the teenagers as possibly," Clarke answers. "That's how we're going to convince the Ark to join us, we're going to convince their children first."
"It would work," Kane says.
"Octavia and Lincoln, you will stay here, tomorrow we will all ride for Podakru," Lexa tells the two who nod. "That is all for now, go rest," Lexa says and everybody nods as they slowly leave the room.
"I'm going to go get cleaned up," Arthur tells his daughter who nods as he leaves. Clarke walks over to Lexa and takes her hand as she lays her head on Lexa's shoulder.
"We still have a lot of work to do," Clarke says softly.
"We do," Lexa says. "But we will win."
"I know," Clarke says as the two stood in silent.
Nia's P.O.V
Nia stood inside of the infirmary. She stood by the door and smiled when she heard a knock. She opened the door and looked at Echo. "Are we ready, Echo?"
"We are, my queen."
"Good, there are weapons on the bed, take them, try not to kill all the guards. Our goal is to get to Cage," Nia tells Echo nods as she walks forward and grabs a sword.
Thanks for reading, next chapter, Nia fights for Mount Weather and there will probably be a timeskip, I haven't quite decided yet, we will see. As always suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
