Chapter 42-Making a deal with Nia
Clarke's P.O.V
Clarke and Lexa stare down the Ice Queen as she sat up in the bed. "You saved me?" Nia asks. "I did," Clarke asks. "Seems like your deal with the Mountain didn't work out."
"No it did not, I tried to take Mount Weather, and I lost, they turned me into one of those monsters." "It probably wasn't that hard to turn you into a monster," Lexa says. "Oh, how I have missed you, Lexa," Nia says. "So what now, you want me to know when you took my head?" "We might not take your head," Clarke says. "Like I said, you decide whether you live or die, Nia. For the first time in your miserable life, you're useful to somebody. You know everything about our enemy." "You want me to tell you about Mount Weather? You must be desperate, if you're keeping me alive," Nia says. "It would be nice to have it, but we'll win without it. If you would rather, I can kill you now, I know Roan and Ontari would love to see your head on a pike," Clarke tells her.
"You've grown sky girl. You're...colder." "That's what happens when your mother dies in front of you," Clarke growls. "It is taking every amount of self-control I have to not kill you. Now I'm done with your games. Are you going to work with us or not?"
"What do I get in return?" Nia asks. "Your life," Lexa answers. "You help us, you will be allowed to live, you will be cast out, a clanless for the rest of your days." "That's a terrible deal," Nia says. "The other option is your head on a pike," Clarke says softly.
"I have a counter offer," Nia says. "I will help if, in return, you will allow me to join your army, and when the Mountain is dead, when Cage's head rolls, I will join the clanless. But this only works if I get to see his head roll."
Clarke looks at Lexa who looks right back at her. "You will be confined to this room, with no weapons, if you are to leave this room, it will be with a guard, if you try anything and I mean anything at all, you will die. I will take your head myself."
"You have yourself a deal, Commander," Nia says. "What do you want to know?"
"We need a layout of Mount Weather. A map, can you make one." "I can," Nia answers. "I spend months in that place, I learned every square inch. I will need a piece of paper,"
"I'll be back," Lexa says and Clarke nods as she walks out of the room.
"She's gone, you could do it now, spill my blood," Nia says.
"I could, but doing that would lead more people to die. You're not the head I want, I'll take Cage's head. When he dies, that is when my mother will be avenged," Clarke says Lexa walks in with a paper and a pencil. She sets it down in front of Nia. "We'll be back soon," Lexa says as she leaves and Clarke follows her.
Jake's P.O.V
Everybody once again stood together as Clarke and Lexa walked into the room. "Well?" Murphy asks. "She accepted a deal," Lexa says. "She will do everything we ask, as long as when the time comes, we allow her to join our army and fight the Mountain," Clarke says. "You will put a sword in Nia's hand?" Ontari asks. "When the time comes," Lexa answers. "Until then, she will remain confined in that room."
"What happens after Mount Weather?" Costia asks. "She will become clanless," Clarke answers. "I know none of you are thrilled about this, you would rather see her dead, but Nia has too much information on our enemy, we can use here and then when we're done with her, we cast her out."
"We should kill her," Ontari says. "We use her and then we kill her."
"We've made a deal with her as long as she holds up her end of the deal, she will be allowed to live," Lexa tells them. "This is how we save as many people as possibly, we have the advantage right now and when the people of Skaikru fall, we will have the information and the Technolgy to defeat Mount Weather. We will have a month until Jaha will come to the ground. We'll beat him and then we'll move on Mount Weather," Lexa says. "None of you have to speak or see Nia if you do not wish. But we need her, no one is to harm her," Lexa says before she leaves followed by Clarke. Everybody slowly left the room leaving Jake there was Roan. "What will you do, Jake?" Roan asks. "You spared her."
"I trusted my daughter," Jake says after a moment. "Yet I did not believe they would allow her to stay.'
"The choice is still yours, kill her if you wish," Roan says. "You have no desire to kill your mother?" Jake asks. "I do, but I will not go against the Commander," Roan says. "Sometimes our enemies can become our most important allies, especially in wartime," Roan says before he leaves the room.
Costia's P.O.V
Costia pushes the door open to the room Nia was staying in. The former ice queen looks up at smiles. "Costia," Nia says. "I see that you lost your arm." "Clarke took it off for everything I did for you," Costia tells her. "I just wanted to see how you have fallen, the woman who tortured me. Now chained in a room, only breathing because of the two women she despises most."
"You seem to have no problems with me breathing," Nia says. "I agree with Clarke and Lexa, you're useful, most be a new feeling for you," Costia says with a smirk. "I'm surprised they allow you to walk around, you don't have a problem with Lexa's relationship with Clarke." "I've moved on," Costia says. "I hope you enjoy your room, Nia. Mine was bigger," Costia says before she leaves the room.
Charlotte's P.O.V
Charlotte sat in the interrogation room and looked at the door as Charles walked in. "You can leave," Charles says to the guard who nods as he leaves the room. Charles sits down across from the girl.
"Why are we here again?" Charlotte asks. "We go to the ground in one month, today, Jaha will release the prisoners not going to the ground. Then you'll stay in your cell until we fall," Charles tells her. "I came here to ask you something, Charlotte. We may die in a month, you are young, I am offering you a way out, I can have you taken off the list released today," Charles says softly.
"So, I can join the rest of the orphans on the Ark?" Charlotte asks. "All the family I have left, they are on the ground or they are dead. I'm going to the ground and if the radiation kills us, I'll see my friends," Charlotte tells him. "I'm ready, regardless of what happens." "Alright," Charles says. "When we get down there, you need to stay close, you and your friends. If they are alive, we find out where they are and you need to go and join them. You'll be safer."
Charlotte nods as Charles stands up. "I'll see you in a month, Charlotte," Charles says before he leaves the room.
Harper's P.O.V
Harper finds Costia sitting with her feet in a river. The river was only a couple of minutes away from the village. "So you went and talked with Nia didn't you?" Harper asks as she sits down beside Costia.
"I did," Costia says. "Probably wasn't my smartest ideas." "Most of your ideas aren't very smart." "Shut up," Costia says. "Seeing her, it remined me of all the bad things I've done. I've...I'm may not be any better than she is." "That's not true," Harper says as she grabs Costia's hand. "You're a good person, every since you've left the tower, you've helped people. You trained me. You're a good person who is making up for her sins," Harper says. "You're a good person," Harper says before she leans in and kisses her. Costia returns the kisses for a moment before she pulls away from the blond.
"I...I can't, I'm sorry," Costia says as she stands up and walks away from Harper.
Lexa's P.O.V
Lexa walks into Raven's workshop and looks at Raven as they talk quietly. "Am I interupping?" Lexa asks. "Yes, you are," Luna says. "What's up, Lexa? Also where's Clarke, it's weird seeing you without your blond attachment?" Raven asks.
"Clarke is talking with Kane, Bellamy, Murphy and Wells. They're figuring out the best way to beat, Jaha and bring the people of the Ark to the ground," Lexa tells her. "I need to speak with you about Mount Weather." "What about it?" Raven asks. "We know that Mount Weather controls the reapers. It has to be with something other than the drug, if Nia remembers what it is, do you think you could make something to use to control them?" Lexa asks Raven. "Probably," Raven answers. "If I don't have the supplies here, the Ark will."
"Good," Lexa says. "Until them, try to figure out a way that we could use either destroy or disable the fog." "Don't worry, I'm working on it."
"Really? Cause it seems like you're working more on Luna's neck,' Lexa says as she looks at the hickey on Luna's neck. "Shut up and get the hell out of my shop," Raven says and Lexa chuckles as she leaves.
Jake's P.O.V
Jake sat inside his house thinking about his conversation with Roan. After a couple of minutes Jake stands up and grabs his sword off the table and walks out of the house. He walks through the small village until he reaches the house Nia was in. He walks into the house and into the room Nia was in. Nia raises her head and looks at the man. "Jake Griffin, how may I help you?" Nia asks. "Why did you do it?" Jake asks. "I'm not talking about the missiles. I wanna know why you sent children to fight a war for you?" Jake growls.
"They were able to hold swords," Nia answers. "They would have died the same way, protecting their queen. That was their fate, from the moment they were born. I should have waited until they were older, they may have been able to do something." "Is that all your were to you, a weapon for you to use, a tool." "More like a shield," Nia says. "I told them they would either die to Lexa's men or they would die to me. It was a war, Jake of the sky people. People die." "Children shouldn't be used as a weapon in war," Jake growls.
"But they are, and they will continue to be until the end of time," Nia says. "That is the way of the world, you had to kill one didn't you? One of the children."
"I did, because of you, I had to kill a child," Jake says.
"You chose to fight in that way, Jake. I did not force you; you made that decision when you joined, Lexa," Nia says.
"You really do not have a heart do you?" Jake asks. "A frozen one," Nia says.
"What about the missiles, you sent missiles at your own people, at a city filled with people. At my village, you helped them kill Abby!" Jake shouts at her. "You wanna hear the truth about that. I wanted it to kill your daughter," Nia says. Jake growls as he pulls his sword out and raises it above his head. "DAD, DON'T!"
Thanks for reading. Next chapter Jake makes his decision as Raven continues to work on a way to beat the Mountain and Bellamy and Kane figure out a way to bring the Ark to the ground. As always suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
