Chapter 34-The True Kidnapper Revealed

The elevator reached the next level and came to a stop. As soon as its doors had opened, Luis immediately walked out of it first with the turtle brothers following him from far behind.

"Finally, we're out of that filthy hole! The fresh air is calling our names!" Luis exclaimed firmly in relief before he turned around to look at the turtle brothers.

"Because if we made it all this way, you three know it means that we're almost-Ngh!"

Luis spoke again before he was cut off when he felt something sharp pierce him from behind.

"Almost what?" Leo pressed, confused as to why Luis just stopped talking out of nowhere.

"Ngh! Argh! Cough!" Luis couldn't speak and only coughed up blood in response before he slowly fell forward and hit the ground, revealing a knife in his back in the process.

"LUIS!" "NOOO!" The turtle brothers cried out in horror before they hurried over to their fallen friend's aid.

However, a large figure landed in front of Luis's body, making them stop in their tracks. When they saw the figure's face, they froze when they recognised his face.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha…Long time no see, freaks…"

It was Hun, the leader of the Purple Dragons!

"Hun!?" "What da shell!?" "Why are you here!?" The turtle brothers questioned one at a time in shock. They then watched as Hun approached Luis' body and lifted a tube-like container with what looked to be a piece of amber stored inside it.

"I'm here to recover stolen goods…while killing a few rats along the way…Easy work, I gotta say…" Hun answered eerily as he pulled out the knife from Luis's back and started walking to the side.

It was then that Leo came to a horrifying realisation.

"Mikey…It was you…You were the one who kidnapped our brother!" He concluded heatedly, pointing one of his katanas at the large man. Raph and Donnie became shocked at this before they too became angry and readied their weapons.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha! About time you figured it out…And he wasn't too much trouble to deal with either; he was too busy crying his eyes out like a baby to even notice me sneaking up on him from behind and knocking him out…!" Hun replied as he prepared his knife.

"What…?" Donnie questioned anxiously.

"Enough talk…It's time I buried you freaks in the ground!" Hun dismissed before he charged towards the turtles.

Leo was the quickest to respond and he blocked the knife with his katanas. Hun backed off, but Raph tackled him from the side before they wrestled each other until Hun tripped Raph and was about to stab him when Donnie deflected the knife with his bo staff and kicked him away from his brother.

"Not bad…but we're just gettin' started, freaks…" Hun told them before he jumped down the next level, persuading the turtles to follow him and continue the fight there.

"Are ya bein' controlled by dat cult, Hun!?" Raph confronted as he stomped over to the large man with sais in hand.

"This has nothing to do with them! I made my choices as a free man…!" Hun denied as he blocked Raph's strikes with his knife, but he missed the last one and got stabbed in the arm.

Roaring out in pain, Hun swung his injured arm and swatted Raph away, stunning him, before he aimed his punches at Donnie who was closest to him.

"We know you're not the smartest person in the world, but you're definitely not thinking straight!" Donnie told Hun as he dodged his punches.

"Oh, my mind's as clear as it's ever been. Now, come on! Show me what you freaks are really made of!" Hun told them before he took his knife out again and charged towards Leo again.

"You're the leader of the Purple Dragons! An organisation made out of gangsters! Why would you wanna work with these monsters!?" Leo shouted angrily whilst he parried against the knife and slashed at Hun's limbs, partly wounding him.

"Why? Has nobody told you what happened to me 2 years ago?" Hun questioned as he kicked Leo towards the edge of the platform.

Leo managed to grab onto the ledge and was about to climb back up when Hun approached him and stomped on his shoulder to try and make him fall, but Raph and Donnie tackled him away before helping their brother up.

"The containment bombing incident at the docks, you mean?" Donnie guessed.

"That's right! All of my members were killed, because we were set up by corrupted cops! I was the only one who survived! And it was done without honour or mercy! Only DEVESTATING POWER!" Hun explained as his rage intensified.

"What's wrong with wanting the same for myself!?" He then questioned before he charged at the turtles again, but they all dodged him.

"Hun!" Leo snapped, kicking him away before rolling backwards and standing back up.

"We get it…What happened to you was unforgivable…but that doesn't give you the right to hurt innocent people!" Leo told him firmly as he slowly walked towards Hun with his katanas in his hands again.

"Tsk! Yer still a bunch of childish freaks holding onto fantasies of what's right and wrong…!" Hun insulted before he moved in for the attack on Leo again.

Leo managed to parry and block Hun's knife a few times, and he tried to land an attack of his own with his katana swords, but Hun blocked them with ease.

"Too slow!" Hun shouted before he punched Leo hard in the plastron, winding him and knocking him a few feet away from him.

"Leo!" Raph and Donnie cried out in horror. Even if they had started running, they knew deep down that they wouldn't get to him in time to stop Hun.

Soon, Hun was standing above Leo and was readying his blade for a fatal attack, when suddenly…

BANG!

A gunshot was fired, knocking Hun's knife out of his hand. Hun looked over at the source of the gunshot and became shocked when he saw Luis holding the gun whilst fighting to keep his wounded body upright by holding onto the side of a large crate. He then dodged another shot at an unusually fast pace, despite his large size, by jumping up on a man-made structure's platform away from the turtle brothers and Luis.

"Enough playing games, freaks…You all haven't changed one bit…What a bunch of disappointments…" Hun told the turtles in frustration before he jumped up again to the next platform. He then put his knife away whilst looking at the group with a harsh glare before walking away.

Leo watched him leave before he was helped up by Raph and Donnie after they hurried over to his side.

"Ngh! Aargh!" The turtle brothers heard Luis cry out in pain before they turned to see the human male collapse against the crate.

"Luis!" Leo cried out as he and his brothers rushed over to him and knelt by his side.

"N-Not looking good, eh, my friends?" Luis rasped.

"Don't try to talk…We'll get you patched up…" Leo told him.

Donnie checked the stab wound on Luis's back, and his eyes widened when he saw how big the entry wound was.

"The wound is really deep, guys…Even with my first aid skills, I-"

"D-Don't worry about it, Don…I-I knew that…this was gonna happen…eventually…" Luis cut Donnie's sentence off shakily as he began to find it difficult to breathe, much to the turtles' dismay.

The turtles then watched as Luis took something out of his pocket and hovered his clenched hand over to Donnie, who immediately grabbed it.

"Here…Take this…It's the key to my laboratory…" He breathed.

Donnie, Leo, and Raph looked at the unique-looking key before they heard Luis speak again.

"Go there…and remove those vile…parasites…Help…Michelangelo…"

Whilst he was speaking, Luis took out a cigarette and grabbed his lighter before he tried to light a flame, but his body was so weak that his hand wouldn't respond properly to his commands to a point where he had dropped the lighter. Now feeling bad for the human male, Raph picked up the lighter and flicked his finger on it to create a small flame before he hovered it over the cigarette and lit it for him.

It was quiet for a moment before Luis spoke once more after taking that quiet time to reflect on what he had done in his past.

"Y-You know…I led a pretty bad life…But now, eh…What do you think, you three? People can change…right?"

"Well…to say that you were a researcher working for both Umbrella and Agent Bishop, I think you're a good person who at least has the willpower to change and make things right…" Leo answered first in a serious but sincere tone as he placed a hand on the man's shoulder.

"Right! You were willing to risk your life to help us by not only passing your parasitic knowledge onto us, but also exposing the Los Illuminados' evil plans…! That takes a lot of guts and courage to do on your own…!" Donnie spoke next whilst doing his best not to cry.

"Yeah, and fer dat…Ya definitely have changed, and ya also earned our respects, pal…" Raph agreed with a thumbs up.

Luis smiled and chuckled weakly at each of the turtles' statements, now feeling happy and relieved that he was able to help some people.

"T-Thank you…Mis amigos…D-Don't ever change…the same goes for…Michelangelo too…" He managed to say before he slowly lowered his head, closed his eyes, and stopped breathing altogether.

The turtle brothers became devastated at the loss of their ally; they bowed their heads in sadness before Raph placed the lighter back into Luis's hand and curled his fingers to help keep it in place.

"You were a fine warrior, amigo…" Leo said after a moment of silence before he slowly stood back up and took a minute to regain his composure.

Raph and Donnie did the same shortly after him, though Donnie was still struggling to calm himself down. Raph gave Donnie a comforting sideways hug.

"Don't worry, Donnie; Hun isn't gonna get away with dis…Right, Leo?" Raph soothed, despite the rage and desire to take down Hun burning up inside him.

"Right, Raph…Come on, there's another elevator not far from here…" Leo replied with a straight face, despite feeling upset on the inside. He then started walking away to head for the elevator, with his younger brothers following him from behind after looking at Luis one last time.
