"Prepare to be annihilated, smartass!"
Bakugo glances at me and shouts as we get ready to see who can swim the fifty-meter the fastest. I smirk and chuckle, forgetting that Koda, Mineta, Tokoyami, and Kaminari are also participating.
"We'll see about that, goldie."
"Ready?"
Momo prepares to blow the starting whistle as I glare at the opposite end of the pool.
I won't fly over it, and I'm pretty sure Bakugo will just launch himself over the water, and I can't really counter that. If I just give myself fins though I should be fine.
I enjoy the adrenaline I feel from the competition aspect of this race as I focus on Momo.
"Set…"
Webs of skin grow in between my fingers and toes, turning them into flippers as I try to ignore how seemingly stupid they look. Momo blows the starting whistle, and as I predicted, Bakugo fires himself into the air and above the water, spinning to keep his momentum. I dive into the water, instantly gaining speed. With each kick, a powerful motion propels me forward as the other side of the pool gets closer with each second, and when I glance up at the surface, Bakugo is just barely ahead of me. With one last powerful kick, I launch myself out of the water and skid onto the smooth concrete mere moments after Bakugo. He smirks widely and glares at me.
"See that, smartass?! Next time don't even think about challenging me!"
Putting my hands on my hips, the webs between my fingers and toes disappear completely as I smirk.
"You have to admit I was pretty close. At least I actually went into the water instead of cheating, Bakugo."
"What?! I wasn't cheating!"
Sero shouts from across the pool.
"You're right Oritsu, it was cheating!"
Kirishima points at Bakugo.
"You didn't even touch the water!"
Explosions burst from his palms as he shouts.
"It's called freestyle swimming you dumbasses!"
The next round of people go up to the edge of the pool and prepare to swim as Momo readies her whistle again. Smirking at Bakugo one last time, I walk over to Mina.
"Gonna compete?"
I ask. She shakes her head as she smiles.
"Nah, it's not my thing. Oh, and can I ask you something real quick? In private?"
Slightly confused, I nod slowly as she cups my ear with her hand and leans in. Bringing her voice down, she whispers.
"Don't act like I didn't see your reaction when Bakugo arrived…"
She giggles. I do everything in my power to keep my face from getting red as I glare intently at her.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
She grins widely, still keeping her voice at a whisper.
"I think it's safe to say I'm your friend, right?"
"Of course…"
"I'm not as oblivious as you think… I can tell when one of my friends has a crush on someone…And it's not just today, I've seen little hints here and there. I have my ways..."
She giggles again, like she just figured out the complicated jigsaw puzzle in my head. This time, I struggle to keep my voice down.
"That's bullshit."
She smiles evilly as I'm slightly surprised at the fact that Mina of all people could look so mischievous.
"We'll see. If you have any questions just ask me, I'm an expert on this kinda stuff!"
Rolling my eyes and laughing lightly, she walks over to the other girls as I look over at the pool and realize the second round just ended. Obviously, Todoroki won that round. I walk over to him and sit down next to him as the third round gets ready for their turn.
"How's your mom been lately?"
He glances at me with a soft expression as I remember we haven't exactly spoken in a while.
"Better. What about you?"
I shrug lazily.
"Meh. The same. Apart from the stupid incident at the mall, nothing has really happened. Oh, my dad finally got a job. Now he's not wasting away at home so that's good."
Todoroki nods. Iida speaks up from across the pool and gets everyone's attention as I glance at an irritated Bakugo for unknown reasons.
"It's time for the final race. Bakugo, Todoroki, Midoriya, as winners of each heat you'll fight for first place. Understand?"
Midoriya nods as Todoroki stands up.
"Got it!"
Giving Todoroki a thumbs up and a smirk for good luck, he walks over to Iida.
"Yes, I'm ready."
"Listen up, scarface-"
I cringe at Bakugo's insult.
"-Don't you dare hold back like you did at the sports festival. Bring everything you've got!"
Todoroki glares at him.
"I will."
"You too, Deku! You better fight to win!"
"Yeah, I will. I promise."
They walk over to the little podium things by the edge of the water and get ready as Iida prepares with the whistle. Everyone cheers for one of the three, except I notice Kirishima and Kaminari are the only ones cheering for Bakugo.
"Now on your marks…"
Out of the three of them, I think it'll mainly be between Bakugo and Todoroki. Not that Midoriya doesn't have a chance, he's certainly gotten more competent ever since the internships. It's just that he can't do what they can. Which in short is to either fly across or slide.
"Get set!"
Iida blows the whistle and the three jump into the air, before suddenly crashing into the water. The others sound confused and Sero scratches his head.
"Why aren't they using their quirks?"
"It's 5 pm."
Aizawa walks out, his hands in his pockets as Kaminari groans.
"Your authorized pool time is officially over. Hurry up and go home."
"C'mon just one second!"
"We're finally getting to the good part!"
Sero and Kaminari complain as Aizawa glares at them.
"Are you questioning me?"
"Not at all, Mr. Aizawa!"
They say in unison as Bakugo, Todoroki, and Midoriya get out of the pool.
Well, I guess that's it for today…
I watch as Bakugo mumbles curse words and struggles to get out of the pool. Suppressing a laugh, Mina surprises me when I turn back around. She grins as I scowl.
"I still don't think it's a crush. It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."
"We'll see!"
I find it hard to believe the first semester is already over... It's time for the summer vacation training camp then... I hope Shigiraki wasn't able to put something together with the vague info I gave him. I don't remember exactly how I felt about it when I first asked All Might about it, but when I remember that All for One works with the League, there's no way he won't be able to find something... That's awfully convenient for them isn't it...? God damn it I'm a fucking idiot... I can't believe I told him anything at all... But then again he was threatening me. I don't want what happened at the U.S.J to happen again, so maybe I can just try and protect everyone else or maybe try to reason with Shigiraki. I don't even know what he's going to do or what he wants so that makes it all the more frustrating...
"Attention class A! Our bus is here! Everyone line up in seating order!"
Iida calls for the rest of the class as we board the spacious bus. I take the window seat next to Todoroki and glance out the window as he sits down as well.
With this constant anxiety that something bad's gonna happen and the fact that I don't know when or how is probably gonna keep me awake at night... But either way that doesn't mean I should slack off, although it will definitely hinder my performance... And with my emotions feeling stirred up and on a roller coaster lately, I can hardly focus... Whether it's what Mina says it is with Bakugo and the League running around in my head or not, it's still gonna be challenging. Huh... I do always say that no one gets anywhere playing it safe...
"Here's the deal, we'll be on this bus about an hour before our first stop. Make sure you stay focused."
"Why aren't we blasting some music?"
Kaminari says, disrupting Aizawa's attempts at keeping everyone else calm. Todoroki seems to be asleep next to me, leaning his head against the headrest of his seat. How he manages to get some shut-eye in the midst of all this noise, I'll never know. The clamoring voices of my classmates rack around in my ears and head as it gets harder to think without getting distracted. I stand up and grip the back of my seat as I glare at an equally irritated Bakugo.
"Pst. Jackass."
He grumbles and opens his eyes, glaring at me.
"The hell do you want?"
"Mind telling everyone to be a bit quieter? I would do it myself but I figured you would want to do it instead seeing as you look pissed off as well."
He raises an eyebrow and scoffs.
"Fine, I'll do it. But I'm only doing it because I agree, so don't expect any favors, smartass."
"Oh don't worry, I won't."
I fall back into my seat as Bakugo stands up, one first clenched.
"Hey! Everyone stop being so goddamn loud! You hear me, you bastards?!"
That's much better...
Everyone's attention turns to him as Iida nods.
"I agree, we should all keep an audible level of speaking without causing too much distraction for everyone else! Especially Aizawa-Sensei! Although please refrain from using such vulgar language, Bakugo!"
Bakugo grumbles as he sits back down, and the bus gets quieter. I breathe a sigh of relief before I peek my head back over the back of my seat and give Bakugo a thumbs up.
"Thanks."
"Tch. Shut up, smartass. I didn't do it just because you asked me."
I look at him with a slightly confused expression.
"Uh, alright...?"
"I said shut up!"
He grumbles and turns away from me. Rolling my eyes, I lean back in my seat.
I stretch my arms as I step off the bus, admiring the beautiful view of trees, mountains, and the soft blue sky above. Mina giggles with excitement as she gazes out at the scenery as well.
"Whew! Finally off that bus!"
Kaminari sighs as Mineta runs out, whining.
"This isn't much of a rest area..."
"And where's class B?"
Kirishima and Momo note the odd choice of location as I glance at Todoroki.
"It sure looks nice, doesn't it?"
He nods as he stares up at the sky.
"You don't really think we stopped here just so you could stretch your legs, do you?"
The class turns to Aizawa as the front doors to a fancy black car spring open.
"Hey ya, Eraser!"
A female voice calls from the car as Aizawa bows.
"Long time no see."
A pair of pro heroes with matching color-coded outfits step out of the car as I stare at them.
"Your feline fantasies are here!"
"Purrfectly cute and cat-like girls!"
I do my best to hold in a laugh as I cross my arms.
"You can call us, the Wild, Wild, Pussycats!"
The Pussycats pose for 1-A as I notice a kid standing near them with an annoyed glare on his face, a red hat with two silver spikes on the front, and by the looks of him, he appears to be near the age of six or five.
"These are the pro heroes we'll be working with at the summer training camp."
"They're a four-person hero team who specialize in mountain rescues! They were founded when we were kids like forever ago!"
Midoriya looks at them with an excited expression on his face as the Pussycats cringe when he says "forever ago".
"This marks the twelfth year of their-"
The one with the blue cat costume grabs Midoriya's face, her blue eyes glaring at him as she smirks.
"I'm pretty sure your math must be off. I'm eighteen at heart."
She says, giving a warning as Midroiya's speech gets muffled.
"Understood..."
Aizawa sighs as she lets go of Midoriya.
"Everyone, say hello."
"Hello! Nice to meet you!"
I can't help but ignore the Pussycats as I focus on the kid that's with them.
What's a kid doing here? And why does he looks so mad?
"We own this whole stretch of land out here, everything you can see. The summer camp you're staying at is there, at the base of the mountain."
The Pussycat in the red costume says and she points to the bottom of the mountain.
"Uh, then why did we stop all the way up here instead?"
Ochaco asks as she turns to Tsuyu.
"I'm afraid we both know the answer to that."
"That can't be right."
"Um, quick, back on the bus."
Sero says nervously as Kaminari agrees.
"Good idea. Load up!"
The Pussycat with the red costume smirks.
"The current time is nine-thirty in the morning... If you're fast enough, you might make it back by noon..."
She says menacingly. Kirishima and Mina are the first ones to freak out as they run back to the bus. I take off my uniform jacket and tie it tightly around my waist as I pull off my tie and tuck it in my jacket pocket.
"Kitties who don't make it back by twelve-thirty won't get any lunch!"
The rest run right back to the bus as my first thought is to get a headstart. I run right for the railing blocking the end of the curved road, and grab it tightly as I swing myself over it.
"Oh, it seems we have a daring kitty among you!"
Sliding on the rough yet very steep side of the mountain, I haphazardly dodge branches and tree roots as I try my best to keep my balance. Thinking quickly, I try and find a way to get ahead while avoiding any obstacles. I assumed there were obstacles because I didn't think it would be simple to get to the camp.
"Why don't you all follow her example, hm?"
Suddenly, a mass of cloud, rock, and dirt kick up from a ways behind me as I jump into the air, just barely missing a tree as wings sprout from my back, accidentally ripping slits into my button-up shirt as well.
Alright, all I have to do is fly through the trees until I make it. I don't think it would be best to fly over the trees because I would just make myself an easy target although it will be harder to keep my momentum and speed when I'm closer to the ground, I'm sure I can manage.
Dodging a tree, I weave my way up and down, side to side, similar to what I did at the sports festival. I don't realize how far ahead I am compared to the rest of 1-A until I glance behind me and see a vague silhouette of huge weird creatures made of rock and dirt attacking them. Of course, Todoroki and a few others easily make it past, but I'm gonna let them catch up to me. Smirking, I suddenly pull back, landing sideways on a tree before launching off of it as hard as I could, my wings keeping me in the air while still not breaking through the top of the trees. Some of my feathers get snagged on loose branches, but I hardly notice as the fresh wind blows in my face. I don't even mind it either.
This was a good decision. I can't wait to see the look on Bakugo's face when I beat him! But it'll still take time to get to the camp. Ah well, it's better to be early than late.
I repeat the process of launching myself sideways off of trees whenever someone gets too close behind me and gliding between them, and soon enough, I can't see anyone when I look behind. Forgetting how much time has passed, I keep flying and I stay within the large forest as I feel a strange sense of calm wash over me... Like the League of Villains isn't going to attack in a few days... Hell, like it doesn't even exist at all... It's these peaceful moments like these that let me forget some things for a while...
I like it...
Sighing, I drag my feet through the rest of the trees towards the summer camp building. My wings ache from flying for what felt like hours as they disappear into my back, leaving two jagged slits through my dress shirt where they once were. A few spots on my shirt and skirt have dirt marks but they don't bother me as I remember to thank myself for what seems like the hundredth time for wearing an undershirt and a pair of shorts underneath my skirt. I pull on my uniform jacket and reach into my pocket for my tie, but it's not there. I groan again out of frustration as I continue to shuffle closer to the camp building.
I must've dropped my tie somewhere back in the woods... Well, there's no way in hell I'm going back to get it that's for sure.
I look up at the sky and see that the sun looks almost directly overhead. Then I look behind me to see just how far I had flown, which was certainly much longer than it looked back when we first got off the bus. Part of me feels like it was too easy to fly all that way, but I shrug it off and walk towards the big glass front doors of the main camp building and knock on the door. No response. I wait a minute and look behind me again, and see clouds of dust rising from far away.
Looks like the rest of 1-A is pretty busy... But what will I do now? I'm pretty sure I'm the only one here and I think I'll get bored pretty quickly...
The door opens, and the Pussycat with the red costume opens the door, looking very surprised to see me.
"Oh! Your the first one to get here so early! And it's only a few minutes before twelve-thirty too... What's your name?"
"Tazuma Oritsu, ma'am."
Glancing down, I see the little kid from earlier not too far behind her. He glares at me as I just stare with a blank expression.
"I'm Mandalay. Nice to meet you. Do you want to come inside? You made it just in time for lunch. Good work on making it here in time. I don't think anyone else has managed to get past Pixie-Bob's terraform monsters."
I nod as she holds the door open for me and I walk in. Mandalay guides me through a hallway into a small cafeteria, where I can smell something delicious cooking. I sit down at the nearest seat as I point to the kid following behind her.
"Who's this?"
She turns to me then smiles and kneels down next to him, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"This is my cousin's son, Kota. Say hi, Kota!"
I lightly wave to Kota as he continues to glare at me.
"C'mon don't be rude now."
He doesn't say anything. Mandalay sighs and stands up.
"He's not much of a talker I'm afraid. I'll get you something to eat."
"Thank you."
"No problem!"
She disappears through a swinging door into what I assume is the kitchen as I relax for a minute. Soon enough, Mandalay comes back from the kitchen with a tray carrying an array of food. She places it in front of me and I thank her again as I pick up the smooth chopsticks and start eating quietly. Mandalay smiles at me then starts walking away. Swallowing some rice, I call to her.
"I don't think I should be sitting here waiting for my classmates all day, so when I'm done is there anything I can do to help out?"
I feel surprised at myself, but it's something I genuinely wanted to ask. Mandalay looks equally surprised as she turns to me.
"Now that you mention it... I wouldn't mind if you helped Kota bring some vegetable crates to the kitchen."
I nod as I turn back to my food.
"Got it."
Mandalay walks away as Kota trails not too far behind her. As he does so, he glares at me once again. Ignoring the glare, I turn to my food and find myself thinking instead of eating.
This is a bad time to be thinking about this, but if the League really does attack then It'll be all my fault again... Stop worrying about it! Just calm down, Tazuma! There's still a chance it won't happen at all so if you ruin the time you have here your not gonna get it back. Just take a few deep breaths...
Listening to my own advice, I take a deep breath.
At least Mina and Todoroki will be here if I need someone to talk to.
Finishing up my food, I carry my tray with empty food bowls back into the kitchen where I empty them into the sink.
If I'm going to bring supplies to the kitchens I'll have to ask Mandalay or Kota where the crates are.
Walking out of the kitchen, I look down a few hallways and separate rooms with school desks in them before I find Kota hanging out at the end of a hallway behind me. I turn and walk up to him as he takes a step back.
"Hey, calm down. I just wanna ask a question. Do you know where I can find the vegetable crates Mandalay mentioned earlier? I'm trying to help out."
He doesn't say anything as I sigh, trying to get too frustrated.
"Or you can just point me in the right direction. It should be easy for you."
"You have a rude attitude for someone who wants to be a stupid hero."
I glare at him.
"Excuse me? Well, you're not wrong, but still. A kid your age shouldn't say that to someone much older than you."
He scowls.
"Heroes are stupid by themselves."
I sigh as I again try to calm myself down.
This is why I don't like kids...
"Listen, Kota, I can't help but agree with you on that a bit, but that's not what I'm asking."
His eyes widen a bit as his tone seems to get calmer.
"Then why do you want to be a hero if you think they're stupid?"
The question racks in my brain a little. At first, I was just at U.A because I had to be, but more recently I've become more comfortable with it. Every day it feels like I'm becoming more and more attached to the idea of becoming a hero rather than my other option...
I've never really thought about it until now, but... What if I do want to become a hero instead...?
Realizing I've been quiet for a second longer than I should've been, I answer his question.
"Maybe to reinforce the idea of a true hero, I don't know. Most of the time I'm not even sure if I'm being honest."
I kneel down in front of him.
"Why do you hate heroes, Kota?"
He scoffs.
" 'Cause they're stupid. They don't care about their families or even their own kids."
I pause as he looks down. The pain in his voice is prominent no matter how he tries to hide it.
"Did something happen to you that made you hate heroes?"
He looks up at me, wide eyes and all. He clenches his fists and glares at me.
"I-it's none of your business!"
I stand up as he storms off, and I think about what he said.
It sucks... To see someone his age hating heroes as much as I did... I should help him...
"Listen, Kota. I hated heroes too. But not all of them are selfish and greedy. Something happened to me that made me hate heroes too. Believe me when I say that you'll change your mind at some point even if it does take a while. It's not healthy to hold grudges forever."
He stops. I can't see his face, but I hope I helped him even if it is only a little.
"I'll find the vegetable crates on my own. They can't be too far from the kitchens anyway."
I walk past him, resisting the urge to glance at his face as I keep walking down the hallway.
Did it work...? I don't know... I'm not good when it comes to sympathizing with people...
Soon enough, I find a stack of small crates filled with vegetables at the end of one of the hallways. Picking up two of them, I carry them back to the kitchen.
After literal hours of waiting, Mandalay, Aizawa, and Pixie-Bob wait for the rest of 1-A outside. I stand beside Aizawa and Mandalay as Pixie-Bob notices them shuffling through the trees and points it out.
"The litter is almost here!"
Mandalay chuckles.
"Well, that took a lot longer than I expected."
The first ones to emerge from the forest are an exhausted Todoroki, a frustrated Bakugo clutching his arm, a beat-up Iida dragging his foot along, and Midoriya who looks as tired as ever. I laugh a little and walk up to them with a smirk.
"Rough trip, huh?"
Bakugo growls as Todoroki tries not to laugh.
"How the hell did you get here first, dumbass?! When did you get here?!"
"Oh, I got here four to five hours ago, why do you ask, you damn slowpoke?"
He grumbles curse words and glares at me.
"Tch."
Todoroki sighs as the rest of the class slowly start appearing behind them. I walk with Todoroki as he wobbles a little, partially to make sure he doesn't fall over.
"You said it would only be like three hours..."
Kaminari almost collapses and sighs as Pixie-Bob smiles.
"I guess we timed it based on how long it would take us! Sorry!"
Kirishima falls backward and sits on the ground with one hand on his stomach.
"I'm starving...! This is hell!"
Pixie-Bob giggles.
"I thought it would take you kids even longer! But you did much better against my dirt monsters than I thought you would! You guys were seriously great."
A sly smile crosses her face.
"Especially... The five of you! It seems like you have quite a bit of experience!"
Pixie-Bob points at Todoroki, Iida, Bakugo, Midoriya, and I as she licks her lips.
"I call dibs on these kittens! I'll groom them myself!"
She runs up to us and nudges me out of the way as she starts hounding the other four, much to their uncomfortable reactions. Getting up, I quickly get in between her and hold my hands out in front of me, signaling her to stop.
"Maybe don't do that? I don't mean to be rude but personal space exists."
She stops and glares at me.
"Why? Wanna keep them all to yourself?"
I'm entirely taken aback by the comment as my eyes widen and I raise my voice.
"W-what the hell!?"
She giggles, leaving me utterly confused and way madder than I should be.
"What the fuck...!"
I say under my breath as I'm completely stumped about what to do now. Thankfully, Aizawa unknowingly comes to my rescue.
"Mandalay, has she always been like this?"
"It's gotten worse lately. She's at the age to take a mate."
Midoriya speaks up.
"Uh, speaking of people's ages-"
Pixie-Bob grabs Midoriya's face again, the claws on her gloves gleaming.
"Choose your words carefully, boy."
"I've just been wondering since we got here earlier, who is that kid? What's he doing here?"
He points to Kota, who I didn't know was even out here. Mandalay grins as she turns to Kota.
"Oh, this little guy? He's actually my cousin's son, he just lives with us now. Don't be shy, Kota, say hi to everyone! Your gonna be around them for the next week."
Midoriya walks right up to him, smiling.
"Hey there, my name's Midoriya. I'm from the U.A high school hero course. It's nice to meet you!"
Midoriya holds out a hand for Kota to shake, but Kota instead punches him in the balls.
Pfft.
I feel a bit bad for laughing even if it is inside my head as Iida runs over to Midoriya, holding onto him and keeping him from falling as Kota walks away.
"What a low blow! You fiend of a child! A punch to the scrotum is unforgivable!"
Kota glares heavily back at Iida.
"The last thing I want is to hang with some wannabe heroes!"
Hate to admit it but that sounds a lot like something I would say back when I first started at U.A.
" 'Wannabe'? How old are you, kid?!"
I glance at Bakugo as he smirks.
"That brat's got spunk."
"He's like a mini version of you."
I burst out laughing at Todoroki's comment as Bakugo turns to him, pissed.
"What are you talking about?! You can just shut your mouth before I blast you all the way to hell!"
"Yeah, sure."
That makes me laugh even harder as I try my best to calm down. Bakugo whips around to face me as he shouts at me.
"Stop laughing! What's so funny?!"
"It's hilarious because Kota is almost exactly like you!"
I cover my mouth with my hand to stifle my laughter as he angrily shouts nonsense and curses. I stop laughing and calm down as Aizawa sighs.
"Enough playing around. Get your stuff off the bus. Once your bags are in your rooms we'll have dinner in the cafeteria. After that, you can bathe and sleep. Tomorrow, your training starts in earnest. You all better get a move on."
After eating dinner and cleaning up, the class separated by gender so we could get ready to bathe in the hot spring. Was I nervous about being naked in front of the other girls? Yes. Should I have been worried? No. It was mainly the fact that I had never been to a hot spring before and I had no idea what you were even supposed to do.
"So, what do you think of the hot spring?"
Mina smiles at me from a smooth ledge as I sit in the warm and very relaxing water on my knees, with only the top of my face above the surface. My face is bright red as I try not to look at anyone. I know we're all girls but I still feel like I'm doing something wrong. With my hair tied into a poor bun to keep it out of the water, my jagged bangs brush past my eyebrows. Glancing down at my arm, I stare at the fully healed skin, leaving no mark of the decay that Shigiraki left behind.
"It's alright I guess..."
The warm steam rises from the hot spring water and evaporates into the air. It's fun to watch.
"I think it feels amazing!"
Mina sighs as she splashes some of the water with her feet. I glance at my towel, which is sitting on a smooth rock not that far away from me, and I contemplate wrapping myself in it and just sitting on the edge of the hot spring instead.
But it feels so warm and soothing...
I sigh and relish in the warm water.
"You sure do look relaxed, Ritsu! You thinking about something?"
Suddenly, my face becomes even redder and I instantly shout at Mina for making dirty thoughts cross my mind.
"Oh, shut up!"
She giggles as we all hear a strange mumbling across the very tall wooden wall separating the hot springs. The noise seems to be climbing the wall as the first thing I think of is Mineta trying to climb the wall, I get a few porcupine quills ready on my arm as I glare at the top of the wall.
"You get down from there this instant!"
Iida's shouts confirm my suspicions as I instantly reach for my towel, just in case. However, Kota appears on the top of the wall and glares down at Mineta.
"Before you become a hero, you should learn how to be a good human."
Kota shoves Mineta, and I hear him fall backwards into the water with a big splash.
I hope that hurt.
"Mineta really is the worst isn't he?"
"Thanks so much, Kota babe!"
Tsuyu and Mina say as Kota turns around, looking right at all of the girls. Kota's face flushes a bright red, and he trips over the edge of the wall. I stand up, ready to dash over and possibly catch him if he falls on the girl's side, but he falls the other way.
"Look out!"
Midoriya shouts. I assume he caught Kota, and I sigh in relief as I get back into the water.
I can't sleep...
Staring at the ceiling, my head feels empty and full at the same time as I try to fall asleep, but to no avail. Sure I feel refreshed and full from the hot spring and from dinner respectively, but something is keeping me awake and I don't know what. I'm confused whether it's about the League or other matters but whatever it is, it keeps tugging at the back of my mind...
