Chapter 6

Water Trap

Okay, folks. Time to get moving with Chapter 6 Let's kick it up!

The remaining members of the Digisestined were hiding in the cave while waiting for Lincoln, Quiet, and Lucy to return. Ronnie Anne tapping her foot rapidly as her patience rapidly left her while she was looking at the clock of her Digivice.

"That's it. I'm through waiting." Ronnie Anne said as she stopped leaning on the cave wall before looking to her Digimon partner. "Floramon, have you eaten enough to be able to Digivolve?" She asked.

"Yeah. I've got more than enough energy back." Floramon replied as she stood up from where the other Digimon were eating.

"Hold up, you two. You really think it's a good idea to go off on your own to look for the others?" Clyde asked.

"He's right. Splitting up further is a bad call right now." Bumper said, only further increasing Ronnie Anne's frustration.

"Fine! Then we'll all go! But I can't sit on my hands and do nothing while Lincoln's out there!" Ronnie Anne shouted at the boys. Suddenly, the group heard the sound of water dripping before a steady stream came in before ending to reveal the Louds and their Digimon.

"Hey guys." Lincoln said with a meek smile before Ronnie Anne walked up to him and smacked in the back of the head. "Ow yeah. Okay. I had that one coming. I'm sorry for going off on my own." He said in an apologetic tone.

"We get why you did it. But splitting up the team isn't the... way too... No way." Clyde was in the middle in saying before he noticed the unmasked Lynn.

"What the heck?" Ronnie Anne asked before clenching her fist lightly only for Lincoln to grab her wrist and shake his head. "Fine." She said with a sigh, Lincoln having long ago told her that he had forgiven Lynn for what had happened. Though it still hard for her to so.

"I know how the two of you must feel having me here right now." Lynn said with her head lowered.

"The four of us. Clyde and Ronnie Anne told us what happened two years ago." Bumper corrected with Sid nodding.

"They also told us that Lincoln forgave you because he's just, in Ronnie Anne words 'just too good a guy'." Sid said.

"So, right now, we'll be good having the team since we're gonna have to put everything we can in to saving Lisa." Clyde said, he and Lynn smiling at each other.

"And Clyde came up with just the plan to do that!" Sangomon said after jumping on his partner's head.

Several minutes later, the Digidestined were sitting around a fire while listing to the plan Clyde had formulated.

"I'm gonna on record here, I don't like this plan." Lincoln said in objection.

"You don't like the plan because your not the one who's going to be doing it." Bumper countered, the rest shrugging in agreement.

"He's got a point. You'd be the first person to try this." Lucy said, Lincoln having no choice but to sigh at the point made by his team.

"Okay. Fine. But if I think this plan is gonna go south. I'm pulling the cord." Lincoln said, giving the go ahead for the plan.

"You've got it, fearless leader." Clyde said before the two boyhood friends shared in a handclasp.

(Meanwhile)

Devidramon was flying through the night sky, he Snatchmon, and Damaska looking down while looking to find any signs of the Digidestined when suddenly, he felt a lite tremble from the human on his back.

"What is the matter?" Devidramon asked, glancing to the shoulder the girl was riding on.

"Hungry. Tired." Damaska said through struggled breaths, causing Devidramon to think for a moment before he glided down to some nearby trees each once with a multitude of mushrooms growing was the base.

"There. Those mushrooms should help you." Devidramon said before Damaska climbed down and went to the mushrooms to begin eating.

'Salty. But not too bad.' Lisa thought before turning to look at Devidramon and Snatchmon. "You two. Eat." She managed to say before the Digimon went to eat as well.

"Once we are finished with our meal, you should sleep." Devidramon advised, gaining a nod from Damaska. 'Hmm. Strange. When did I come to care for her?' He asked himself as he continued to eat.

(The next morning.)

Clyde and Sid were walking alone with their Digimon on a road while in.

"You think splitting up was a good idea?" Sid asked while her eyes were darting around the area.

"I hate to say it. But it really was our only option. The others can cover way more ground without us. We're just gonna have to be careful. "Clyde replied.

"And besides. You have the two of us two protect you." Sangomon said from atop Clyde's head.

"Yeah, don't worry, Sid. We've got your backs. Or I guess your heads." Sparrowmon called down from above the three.

"Thanks, Sparrowmon!" Sid called back up to her partner. "I just hope this works for the sake of Lincoln and his sisters." She whispered as her eyes briefly moved to look at the tree line. Spesificly one tree that Lincoln was hiding in.

(Flashback)

"Okay. So my plan is really simple." Clyde said as the Digidestined were sitting around the fire with their partners. "You've tried using the trackers in your Digivices to find and they haven't worked, right?" He asked.

"Yeah. We couldn't get a single blip off of Digivice," Lynn confirmed while cleaning one of her weapons.

"Well, I'm thinking the coral might be blocking the signal making it where we can't track her and maybe. She can't track us either." Clyde suggested, Lincoln starting to see where he was going with this. "Lynn? Does the forest stay thick for a good distance?" He asked

"Yeah. It stays that way for a good few miles." Blucomon said for his partner.

"Okay. Then here's the play. We pretend to split up, isolate me and Sid on the rode. This could lure Lisa in to attack us, letting the rest of you blitz her so we can capture her and get that coral off of her." Clyde explained.

"Wait. Why isolate you and Sid?" Labramon asked in mild confusion.

"Obviously it's because Sangomon and Sparrow have yet to Digivolve." Lucy explained.

"Exactly. That makes us the ideal bait for this trap." Clyde said before looking over to his best friend. "So, Lincoln. What do you think?" He asked before the scene in which Lincoln agreed played out.

(End flashback)

'Come on. Come on. Take the bait.' Clyde thought before Sparrowmon caught something coming off in the distance.

"They're here." Sparrowmon said before her eyes widened at seeing a blast coming at her at rapid speeds before she just barely managed to roll out of the way of before she dove down to Sid and Clyde. "Let's get going."

"They bring another coral corrupted Digimon with them? Sid asked.

"Yeah. Looks like they got..." Sparrowmon began to say before a series of rapid shakes began to move towards the group before the others caught a glimps of a replilian Digimon covered completely in fire save for the claw on his arms ans his helmet as well as the blood coral moving down its spine and tail.

"Flareizamon." Sangomon said with fear in his voice.

"Of course it had to be something that's actually on fire." Sid said, while walking backwards in fear.

"Stay calm. We can handle this." Clyde said as Flareizemon continued to rush towards them with Sparrowmon and Sangomon attempting to hold him back with their long range attacks, the rage caused with from the coral making Flareizamon to shake them off and continue his charge.

"Move!" Sid called before she and Clyde both rolled to avoid being trampled by the blazing Digimon.

"Sid. Stay behind me." Clyde instructed, getting a confused look from the girl. "Sorry. You're gonna have to go solo on the bait thing now. I have to keep this guy from making things tough for the others." He instructed, before looking down at Sangomon, his determination resonating with his partner before the screen of his Digivice began to glow.

"Sangomon Digivolve to..." Sangomon began before his body began to glow, shifting in to that of a massive red crustateon with sharp teeth and large claws, one curved and one serrated. "Ebidramon!" He called out before locking those of his enraged opponent's.

"All right!" Sid cheered, making sure her back was turned to the road. Just then Devidramon came flying down at her. "NOW!" She shouted.

"Dorumon Digivolve to... Dorugamon!"

"Bulucomon Digivolve to... Paledramon!"

"Labramon Digivolve to... Dobermon!"

"Floramon Digivolve to... Parasaurmon!"

"Wormmon Digivolve to... Kuwagamon!"

"What!?" Devidramon shouted as the remaining champion partners of the Digidestined circled around him, Dobermon leaping off of Dorgugamon's back to grip on the back of Damaska's coat and get her off Devidramon's back. With the possessed girl, cleared Paledramon readied his attack before Snatchmon attempted to leap and and attack him only for Kawagamon to intercept him in his pincers and allow Paledramon a clear shot to use Ice Age to freeze Devidramon's wings and making him fall to the ground.

Snatchmon punched Kuwagamon in the head causing him to scream in pain before he kicked free and tried to dive towards Dobermon only for a Metal Canon from Dorugamon before he landed on his back and Parasaurmon stood over him.

"Sorry about this, pal. Palsy Sweet!" Parasaurmon called out before letting a mist out of her mouth which she used to numb her brain washed friend.

'Don't hurt them.' Lisa begged inside her mind and her body struggled to get free of Dobermon's grasp. 'Wait a minute. Is that...' She began to ask as she saw her siblings Lynn in particular running towards her.

"Oh please let this work." Lynn begged the universe before she, Lincoln and Lucy placed their Digivices on he the coral on Damaska. A bright glow then came from each of the devices before the coral began to catch rapidly before it shattered in its entirety revealing Lisa's face and arm covered in jagged scars.

With Lisa freed, the only true issue left was Flareizamon. Though the group all collectively decided to let Ebidramon handle that issue, the aquatic Digimon doing really well with the fight the two dodging and slashing at each other. Eventually, Ebidramon was able to slip past a hammer strike of the flame covered Digimon and use his claws to grab the shoulders of his opponent.

"Time to finish this." Ebidramon said before letting out a loud cry of "Mire Swallow!" Causing large pillar of water to erupt from the ground, sharing the Blood Coral from Flareizamon's body.

(Elsewhere)

The dark one watched the events of the battle. Growing in pure rage at having his forces so completely defeated and worse. At the prospect of all the Digidestined being united. Something that he would not allow to happen. He decided that he needed to capitalize quickly before the Digidestined could make another escape.

(Back with Digidestined)

The partners of the Digidestined were standing over the injured Devidramon as half of the humans looked over Bemmon who had reverted back to her rookie form after the battle. This left the Loud siblings to look over the injured and barely conscious Lisa who was resting her head on Lincoln's legs.

"Lynn. It's.. good to..." Lisa struggled to say through the exhaustion.

"I've missed you too, brain box. But don't try to speak right now." Lynn said as she ran a comforting hand over her younger sister's head.

"Lynn's right. You've been through a lot. Just rest. We're here now." Lincoln said as he smiled down at Lisa.

Suddenly, a rip opened the the sky, catching everyone off guard before a bolt of black energy came flying towards the Louds, Lisa specifically. Before anybody knew what was happening, a blur moved past everyone before the blast made direct contact with Devidramon.

Even in her heavy drained state, Lisa couln't help but call out in terror the draconic Digimon taking that blast before falling to the ground, his back burned and his wings shredded.

Lisa summoned what little strength she had left and began crawling over to Devidramon. Unfortunately, in she collapsed before she could reach him, reaching a trembling arm out to the Digmon before she fully lost conciseness.

"Lisa!" Lincoln, Lucy and Lynn all shouted before running towards the fallen girl, stopping short at seeing a glow come from her pocket.

"It can't be." Lynn whispered as the light from Lisa's Digivice streamed over to the injured Devidramon before a purple light came over his entire and began to shrink down. When the light faded what lied in the place of Devidramon was a small purple and white creature with bat wings for ears.

"Lynn. What just happened?" Lucy asked as Lynn walked over and picked up the former Devidramon.

"I'll explain later. Right now, we need to get out of here before whatever that thing was attacks again." Lynn replied before she jumped on Paledramon's back, each of the other Digidestined climbing on their Digimon, Sid climbing on Parasaurmon with Ronnie Anne and Lincoln grabbing Lisa and Bemmon before the group rode off as fast as they could move.

(Back at the castle)

"Curse that traitor! Now the Digidestined have more power than ever." The dark one said as he slammed his hand in to a wall. "I have to accelerate my plans before they arrive." He said before he walked down to the bottom of the castle before he eventually arrived at the door of a massive vault.
