"Why can't Masamune order a coffee for once?! I've been learning all these cool foam art designs, but I can't put cream on a freaking lemonade!" King complains, but then sighs as he leans over the counter and starts thinking. "Do you think he will notice the unicorn I drew on his cup?"

Yuki blinks.

Wait, did he just-

He wants to stop and ask, "Wait, if Masamune ordered a lemonade… Who ordered the red velvet latte?"

But his body was on autopilot.

And before he knew it…

"Meow, thanks!"

Yuki blinks again, this time he freezes completely as a gloved hand takes the beverage from him.

He recognizes those green eyes…. And that cat-like smile.

"Oh my stars."

It can't be…

He did not just do that.

He just couldn't, okay?!

There is no way this just happened!

"Huh… Well, I guess that backfired." Chris appears by his side.

"No…" His weak voice tried to whisper but it came out as a painful wheeze.

It wasn't long before his knees gave up.

Once on the floor, Yuki slowly slid his way under the counter and hugged his legs like his life depended on it.

"This is it. I'm done." He mumbles, a little too loudly. "I can't believe what I just did. My life is completely and utterly over. I'm going to have to run away! I'll have to change my name and join the circus or something!"

Chris sighs, kneels next to him and pats him on the shoulder.

"Come on, it's going to be okay." He tries to console his friend.

Yuki's face comes out of its place of hiding and looks straight at him.

"You… T-this is all your- UGH! Why?!" His panic quickly shifted into anger. "Why did you make me do this?!"

Chris didn't even seem faced with how his friend yanked his arm and dragged him forward. In the end, he just shrugged.

"It was just an idea, I didn't force you to do anything." He reminded Yuki.

The panic Yuki was feeling somehow turned into rage, so he grabbed the collar of Chris' shirt and started shaking him.

"You ruined my life!" He shouts angrily.

The blonde teenager couldn't help but to laugh at Yuki's red face.

"It's not that bad, dude! Get a hold of yourself! This might be a good thing! You had a crush on that girl all semester!" Chris was starting to get annoyed and pushed Yuki away, forcing him to let go. "What did you even write on her cup anyways?"

"...I wrote "Hi, you are cute! Would you like to go on a date?"..."

As he answered, Yuki watched Chris' smile disappear into a mortified expression.

"...Yuki, why?"

"I know! You don't have to say it!" The poor brunette groans and places his hands on his face. "I just thought that's something that King would say to Masamune! I never intended to-"

"Are you kidding?!" Chris hissed. "King isn't that ballsy! Nobody is!"

Having heard that, King turned his head at them.

"Hey! I am ballsy!" He yells. "...What are we talking about?"

After catching their friend's attention, Yuki and Chris decided to stand up. They had completely forgotten about the fact that they were under the counter this whole time.

"I…" Yuki started stuttering, knowing his friend would make fun of him if he found out what happened.

"He wanted to help you make a move on Masamune, but ended up making a move on that girl from art class he's been crushing on for months." Chris reveals without caring for the way his friend agonizes right next to him.

"Chris!" Yuki nearly hissed.

"You already made your bed! Sleep in it for fuck's sake!" The blonde teen snarled back.

Honestly, Yuki expected King to start wheezing for laughing so hard in the next two seconds. However, his friend remained frozen in shock.

"You were going to do what?!" King whispered loudly, his face turning a deep shade of red.

"I'm sorry! I don't know what I was thinking!" Yuki apologized in a whisper.

"What did you even do?!"

"I-"

"He wrote "I think you are cute, let's go on a date!" on her cup." Chris interrupted Yuki once again.

"I didn't phrase it like that!" The brunette corrected his friend. "I was just- I thought that's how you would ask Masamune out! I didn't-"

"How DARE you?!" King gasped. "I would never do something so trashy!"

"Don't call me trashy!"

"Well, you are!"

"You have to admit it, Yuki. It was a bit trashy." Chris nodded in agreement.

The three started fighting. The cafe was blissfully unaware of their shouting as they were barely audible thanks to the atmosphere around them.

Nevertheless, somebody was approaching the angry trio.

"King might be a lovesick fool, but at least he doesn't do any of this romcom shit!"

"I was just trying to help! After I saw him sniffing Masamune's hoodie the other day, I thought-"

"Yuki!"

"You did what?!"

"It's not what you think!"

"You two make me sick! I don't know why I get associated with hopeless romantics!"

"Don't be so high and mighty! You are so over the moon about Jack, you write him anonymous poems every week!"

"I'll kill you if you say that again, King!"

-DING-

The three baristas froze as they heard the sound of the bell. Their eyes went wide at the same time. They were forced to let go of each other.

"Meow, hi!"

Yuki's brain short-circuits. It's her…

"H-hello, ma'am!" King stutters with a giggle as if he wasn't Pulling both his friends by the hair just a second ago. "What can we do for you?"

"Meow, so I got this note on my coffee and-"

Without wasting a second, King and Chris pushed Yuki to the front. Before the poor guy could react, the two teenagers had left for the kitchen.

A good five seconds passed before Yuki realized it was just him behind the counter. So, he decided to look up and make eye contact with the girl standing in front him.

"Meow, hi! My name is Motti!" She waves her hand at him with a very cheerful expression.

"H-hi! Yeah, I know you from-"

"Art class, right? Meow!" She finishes his sentence with a giggle. "Of course I remember you!"

Yuki tries to keep himself under control, but he knows it's hopeless. His face was definitely blushing so hard, he could feel the heat.

"A-about that note…I-I can explain. I was just-"

"Meow, I think you are cute too!"

Yuki blinks in confusion.

"Wha- Y-you do?"

"Meow, yup!" Motti nods. "I would love to go on a date!"

"O-oh…" Yuki feels like his face is overheating.

From the kitchen, Chris and King were spying through the door crack.

"Huh…I thought he would die of embarrassment." Chris whispered.

"Do you think…That it is stupid for us to wait for the perfect moment? That maybe we should just do it and accept the outcome rather than wait forever and regret our fears?" King asked.

"Mmm…" Chris started thinking. "So, are you going to ask Masamune out right now?"

"Hey, acknowledging your fears isn't the same as being ready to confront them!"
