Kagome focused intently as Naraku's body, still reeling from the impact of her sacred arrow, was now engulfed in a thick, noxious miasma. She threw a protective barrier around Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, and Miroku, ensuring they were shielded from the deadly miasma as it swirled through Naraku's insides. The barrier shimmered with a radiant light, a beacon of safety amidst the encroaching darkness.

Naraku's mocking laughter echoed through the chamber as he tried to flood his body with miasma, desperate to prevent them from advancing further. His malevolent voice reverberated through the walls, taunting them with each gurgle and hiss of his corrupted form.

"Is this all you have?" Naraku sneered, his form shifting grotesquely as he attempted to heal. "You think your barriers will save you? The miasma will choke the life from you all!"

Suddenly, Sango burst into the chamber, Kirara soaring through the thick miasma. Her face was determined but pale, and she clutched her hiraikotsu tightly. With a powerful swing, she launched the massive boomerang towards Naraku, her aim true.

The hiraikotsu struck Naraku with a resounding crash, tearing through the miasma and cutting deeply into his flesh. Naraku let out a howl of pain, his body convulsing as the weapon carved through him. However, the miasma clung to the hiraikotsu, causing it to emanate a sickening green glow.

Sango's triumphant expression faltered as she felt the corrosive miasma seeping into her weapon, its effects quickly spreading. Kirara roared in agony, her flames flickering weakly as the miasma overwhelmed her. Sango's strength waned rapidly, her vision blurring as the poison took hold. The once-mighty demon slayer slumped, her weapon dropping from her grasp as both she and Kirara collapsed onto the cold, fleshy ground.

Kagome's heart ached as she witnessed the scene. She immediately raised her sacred arrow, channeling her purification power to cleanse the miasma around them. The arrow's light surged forth, dispelling the miasma in the immediate area. But the damage was already done—Sango and Kirara lay incapacitated, their breathing shallow.

"No!" Kagome cried out, but it was too late. The ground beneath them quaked, and a gaping chasm opened up beneath Sango and Kirara, threatening to swallow them whole.

"SANGO!" Inuyasha screamed as he leapt for her, only for Naraku to stop him from following as large black spikes emerged from the ground.

Without hesitation, Miroku leaped into the abyss after them, his determined expression reflecting the desperation of the moment. "I'll go!" he shouted as he disappeared into the darkness.

The remaining group watched in horror as Miroku fell, their hope now fragmented. Kagome's heart pounded fiercely, her breath coming in shallow gasps. She glanced at Sesshomaru and Inuyasha, both of whom were locked in a desperate struggle against Naraku's monstrous form.

"We need to finish this, now!" Kagome's voice was firm, her resolve crystallizing in the face of their dire situation.

Sesshomaru's gaze was cold, his eyes reflecting an unyielding determination. "Indeed. We cannot afford to be distracted, Inuyasha. Naraku must be destroyed."

Kagome's eyes shifted back to Naraku, watching as the malevolent being's form began to regenerate. Her pulse quickened, her thoughts racing. Midoriko's voice echoed in her mind once more, and it suddenly became clear why the spirit had been trying to communicate with her all this time. As Naraku merged with the Shikon Jewel, Kagome felt an intense pull drawing her forward. Her body seemed to move of its own accord, guided by an inner sense of purpose.

Kagome stepped in front of both brothers, her gaze fixed on Naraku with an emotionless determination. The battle had left her weary, but her resolve was unwavering.

Naraku's form was grotesque, his features contorted with rage and malevolence. He cackled, his voice reverberating through the cavernous space. "All those years ago, the Shikon Jewel was meant to be destroyed with Kikyo's corpse, obliterated from this world. Even so, the Jewel used Kikyo's lingering feelings for Inuyasha, as well as Kagome's own, to return. Shattered but not destroyed, it brought new disaster as it slowly reassembled. The Shikon Jewel will never disappear. EVEN IF I AM DESTROYED, IT WILL LIVE ON."

Kagome's eyes narrowed, her voice cutting through the taunting laughter. "Naraku, what were you truly trying to accomplish?"

Naraku's expression twisted with scorn. "The same thing over and over again. You tore Kikyo and Inuyasha apart, forced Sango and Kohaku to fight. Now, you're trying to use the love between Miroku and Sango to destroy them. You hate love and friendship, so you spent your life destroying it."

Naraku's growl was low and menacing, his aura pulsating with dark energy. His face was etched with a mix of frustration and anger.

"But why?" Kagome's voice softened, yet it was filled with profound sadness and understanding. "Is that all you really wanted?"

Naraku's face was marred with cracks, his eyes reflecting a deep despair as he glared down at Kagome. "Why ask me that now?" His voice was a mixture of bitterness and confusion.

Kagome took a deep breath, her eyes unwavering as she spoke with conviction. "You couldn't have done any of those things if you didn't understand the human heart. The pain of loss wouldn't mean anything to you if you didn't know what it felt like to have a bond with someone. Nothing will satisfy you because the Shikon Jewel didn't grant your real wish."

Naraku's expression shifted, revealing a flicker of vulnerability. He watched Kagome, his growls becoming more pronounced as he grappled with her words. The cracks in his form deepened, the despair in his eyes more evident.

Kagome pressed on, her voice filled with a mixture of compassion and resolve. "That's why you hesitated. You know the Shikon Jewel turns everyone it absorbs into a true monster. You have a complete Shikon Jewel in your grasp, and you still haven't tried to absorb it."

Naraku's eyes flared with a mix of anger and desperation. "That changes nothing!" he snarled. "Are you so naive to think you can purify my heart with your words?"

Before Kagome could respond, Naraku unleashed a blast of dark energy toward her. Sesshomaru's reflexes were lightning-fast. He stood in front of Kagome, his arm extending to shield her from the deadly attack. The force of the blast was immense, but Sesshomaru's determination held strong.

The explosion reverberated through the cavern, the miasma swirling violently around them. Sesshomaru's protective barrier deflected much of the impact, though the force still sent him stumbling back. Kagome steadied herself, her eyes locked on Naraku, as Inuyasha used Meido Zangetsuha on Naraku. Which resulted in the loss of his entire body, leaving only his head and shoulders behind.

Kagome spotted the Shikon Jewel, it coveted darkness, save for the speck of light deep within and glowed brightly. Reaching for an arrow, she went to shoot the jewel, only for Naraku to suddenly change the terrain of the ground causing her to falter.

"It is futile," Naraku's body began to regenerate. "You are still inside my body, you fool. I'll only keep regenerating."

"Fine by me, you spider bastard!" Inuyasha shouted, waving his sword at him, "I'll keep slicing you up all day."

The tension in the air was palpable as Inuyasha sent another Meido Zangetsuha towards Naraku, the dark vortex slicing through the malevolent demon's form and halting his regeneration. Sesshomaru, always composed and swift, wrapped an arm around Kagome and leaped into the air to avoid an incoming attack from Naraku. He placed her down at a safe distance before soaring back to join Inuyasha. The two brothers, united against a common foe, fought with a synchronized fury. Sesshomaru's Bakusaiga cleaved through Naraku's body, its corrosive power preventing any attempt at regeneration.

Kagome watched the battle intently, her heart pounding in her chest. Suddenly, she felt a sharp sting and a gust of air brush against her backside. She spun around to see Byakuya standing behind her, his presence sinister and unnerving.

"I am an incarnation of Naraku," Byakuya said with a cold smile. "I have completed my final task." With those words, he vanished into the netherworld through the Meido Zangetsuha, leaving Kagome kneeling on the ground, bewildered and confused by the sudden attack.

Inuyasha's voice broke through her daze. "Naraku! Your body can no longer regenerate!" he shouted, a triumphant smirk on his face.

Naraku's response was filled with bitterness. "As I have told you before, destroy me, and the Shikon Jewel will still never disappear from this world."

"Just admit that you lost!" Inuyasha snapped back, his eyes blazing with determination.

At that moment, Sango and Miroku broke through the fray, riding atop Kirara, with Kohaku following close behind on Au-Un, Jaken clutching tightly to the dragon's reins. The sight of their friends reinvigorated Kagome's spirit.

Naraku's gaze swept over the assembled group, his expression twisted with contempt. "So you're all here," he spat. "You and your worthless group of so-called friends."

Sesshomaru and Inuyasha positioned themselves protectively in front of Kagome, their combined presence a formidable barrier against Naraku's malevolence. Kagome, regaining her composure, stood up, determination etched across her features.

"We are more than you could ever understand, Naraku," she said, her voice steady and strong. "It's not just about power or domination. It's about the bonds we share, the love and friendship that make us strong."

Naraku snarled, his form wavering as the battle took its toll. "You think your pathetic bonds can save you? The Shikon Jewel will outlast all of you. It will continue to bring darkness to this world."

Kagome stepped forward, her eyes meeting Naraku's with unflinching resolve. "The Shikon Jewel's power may be great, but it's the heart and spirit of those who wield it that truly matter. And we won't let you destroy that."

Kagome watched as everyone attacked Naraku in a flurry of motion, only to see him sever himself from his own body at the last second before Sesshomaru's Bakusaiga could reach him and cripple him entirely.

"Naraku cut himself free from his own body, Lord Sesshomaru!" Kohaku called out to the demon.

"He must be trying to escape the destruction of Bakusaiga's power," Jaken squawked from Au-Un.

"Escape?" Sesshomaru mused, his voice cold and confident. "A futile effort."

"What a pitiful bunch you are," Naraku cackled, his voice dripping with malice. "This little gathering of friends has brought me back to the Shikon Jewel yet again. Was that what you hoped for? Do you think you have won? I assure you, you have not. For the jewel and I are now one."

In a hot pink light, Naraku was enveloped. His body transformed into another being as the darkness pushed out the speck of light from the jewel.

Inuyasha's eyes widened. "Naraku finally fed his soul to the jewel, just to get more power."

Bakusaiga's attack continued to cause Naraku's body to fall apart, but even near death, Naraku remained defiant. He blasted the group with chunks of his body, coated with miasma. They all did their best to dodge the lethal projectiles.

Sesshomaru glanced at Jaken. "Jaken, take Kohaku away from the battle."

Jaken nodded fervently, guiding Kohaku to safety. Kohaku lent his to Miroku.

Kagome noticed that any miasma near her was being purified, but wondered why Naraku kept stopping her from firing an arrow that would purify the jewel. She frowned, her intuition nagging at her. Why is he stopping me?

At the same time, Inuyasha realized Naraku's true intent. "He's heading for Kaede's village!"

Naraku laughed, a cruel, mocking sound. "Foolish Inuyasha, did you not see where I was heading? If I am killed now, my miasma-laden corpse will fall on the village."

Sesshomaru's eyes flashed with fury. "Not if I can help it." He cut Naraku in half with a swift, decisive strike. However, the Shikon Jewel remained.

Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed in surprise. "Bakusaiga should be able to destroy anything."

Despite the loss of Naraku's physical form, his body continued to move toward the village. The group quickly escaped Naraku's collapsing body and headed toward Kaede's village. Chunks of miasma hit the ground, killing the crops and trees. Miroku used his Wind Tunnel to suck up chunks of miasma heading for the villagers.

Inuyasha, his resolve unyielding, physically attacked Naraku with Meidō blades, sucking his remains into the afterlife. However, a violet light remained in their place.

Kagome's eyes locked onto the jewel inside the light. She notched an arrow, ready to shoot it.

Kagome watched as everyone attacked Naraku in a flurry of motion, only for her to see him cut himself from his own body at the last second before Sesshomaru's Bakusaiga could reach him and cripple him entirely.

"Naraku cut himself free from his own body, Lord Sesshomaru!" Kohaku called out to the demon.

Sesshomaru glanced at Jaken. "Jaken, take Kohaku and Rin away from the battle."

Jaken nodded fervently, guiding Kohaku and Rin to safety. Rin, showing remarkable bravery, returned Sango's mask to her while Kohaku lent his to Miroku. Sesshomaru observed this, deciding to forgive Sango.

Kagome noticed that any miasma near her was being purified, but wondered why Naraku kept stopping her from firing an arrow that would purify the jewel. She frowned, her intuition nagging at her. "Why is he stopping me?"

Naraku's dark thoughts echoed in the air. "It's not yet time for her to shoot."

"This ends now," she whispered.

Sesshomaru, always protective, stayed by her side. "Do it, Kagome."

She nodded, her determination unwavering. Drawing her bow, she aimed and released a sacred arrow, its light piercing through the darkness. The arrow hit its mark, purifying the Shikon Jewel.

Naraku's soul, appearing as a disembodied head with the jewel, spoke out. "The very moment Byakuya of the Dreams cut Kagome, I made a final wish on the jewel. But the jewel forced me to make its own wish. It will come true the moment I die." With those words, Naraku's soul vanished with the jewel from the material world.

Miroku checked his hand and saw that the Wind Tunnel was no more, confirming that Naraku was dead. Everyone was relieved until a Meidō opened behind Kagome and sucked her in. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru rushed towards her, only for them to both fail as she slipped right through their clawed hands.

"SESSHOMARU! INUYASHA!"

The meido had closed, causing them to both tumble towards the ground as her tears ran down her face.

Kaede pointed out that the well had vanished along with Kagome. Shippō then revealed that he had seen Byakuya sample the Meidō Zangetsuha, which was used on Kagome. Inuyasha realized why Naraku was so desperate to reach the well; being his final act, one would think Naraku would have tried taking his enemies with him.

Miroku then asked what had happened to the Shikon Jewel, as it had vanished. Inuyasha had a realization. Grabbing Tessaiga, he begged his blade to take him to Kagome. Jumping into the air, Inuyasha opened a Meidō and dove into it, shocking everyone as they thought he was jumping into Hell.

Sesshomaru, desperate to reach Kagome, followed Inuyasha into the Meidō without hesitation. "I will not let you face this alone, little brother."

Meanwhile, Kagome appeared in an alternate world where she was just an average high school student who had never met Inuyasha or had anything to do with the Shikon Jewel. She chatted with her friends as they ate at their favorite place, but something felt off.

At home, Kagome asked Sota about the shrine that housed the well, but he didn't know what she was talking about. Finally, staring at the Sacred Tree, she noticed there was no scar. Suddenly, she remembered Inuyasha, Sesshomaru and her friends.

Kagome found herself floating in darkness with the Shikon Jewel's voice telling her that the well had been sealed, meaning she couldn't go back to the present or the past. She turned around, shocked that the Shikon Jewel was still there.

Kagome asked the jewel, "Where am I? What did you do to me?"

The jewel answered, "You are what you have always been. That was an illusion, nothing more. It was a glimpse of the future that could have been. Do you wish to return to that world? It's not too late."

Kagome began crying, despairing over never seeing her family or friends again. The jewel told her it could grant her wish to leave the darkness.

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru continued looking through the Meidō for Kagome. They came across a demon, unknown to them, that was the jewel's demon. Inuyasha slayed the demon, but it reformed as the several demons that created him.

Sesshomaru growled, "return her to me!"

The demons said that the "priestess" would soon be there once she wished on the jewel. This shocked Inuyasha, who thought the jewel was destroyed. The demons explained that they were in the jewel right now and the only way for Kagome to escape the darkness was to become a part of the jewel by making a selfish wish.

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru continued to slay the demons, with Inuyasha yelling for Kagome not to make any wishes.

Kagome asked the jewel again, "Where am I? What did you do to me?"

The jewel answered, "You are what you have always been. That was an illusion, nothing more. It was a glimpse of the future that could have been. Do you wish to return to that world? It's not too late."

Kagome cried, despairing over never seeing her family or friends again. Most of all, never seeing Sesshomaru. The jewel told her it could grant her wish to leave the darkness.

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, desperate to save Kagome, continued their relentless search. Inuyasha's determination and Sesshomaru's silent resolve combined in a powerful drive to find her.

Sesshomaru called out, his voice echoing through the darkness, the tugging in his chest calling to her. To their bond, where he felt her anguish, longing, and heartbreak.

Inuyasha, his voice filled with desperation, added, "Kagome, don't make any wishes! We'll get you out of there!"

Kagome, hearing their voices, felt a spark of hope. She took a deep breath and steadied herself. "I trust you, Inuyasha. Sesshomaru, I'm waiting for you."

With their combined strength and unwavering determination, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru fought through the darkness, slicing through the demons, their resolve unshakable. They would not rest until Kagome was safe, no matter what it took.

In the darkness, Kagome held onto the hope that Inuyasha and Sesshomaru would reach her. She knew she had to stay strong and resist the jewel's temptations. The battle was far from over, but with their bond and determination, she believed they could overcome anything.

Finally, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru broke through the final barrier, reaching Kagome. The jewel's demon was there, taunting them. "You cannot defeat me. The jewel's power is eternal. The young girl was created from the jewel itself by the will of Midoriko. The priestess forgot that Magastuhi had a will of his own and added that the soul born from the jewel would be the one to take Midoriko's place, as she is bound to the jewel and shall forever be so."

Sesshomaru stepped forward, his eyes blazing with determination. "The power of the jewel is nothing compared to my own."

Inuyasha raised his Tessaiga, its blade gleaming with a fierce light. "We'll destroy you and free Kagome once and for all!"

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru continued fighting the demons inside the Shikon Jewel. The demons taunted them, insisting that the only way for them to see Kagome again was for her to make a selfish wish on the jewel, thereby saving herself from the darkness and becoming a part of it. Ignoring their taunts, both brothers slashed through the demons with relentless fury.

The brothers' determination only grew stronger when they saw Midoriko battling another horde of demons. Seeing her struggle made them more resolute than ever to prevent Kagome from being trapped in the jewel. With a roar of anger, Inuyasha unleashed the Wind Scar, obliterating the demons. As the light from his attack faded, their eyes widened in shock. Before them was a spider web, and at its center, Naraku's head.

"How can you still be alive?!" Inuyasha demanded, his voice filled with disbelief.

The demons around them laughed, their voices echoing through the darkness. "Naraku is dead now, but he will awaken once Kagome becomes part of the jewel. A new battle of souls will begin, allowing us to revive in the material world."

Disgusted, Inuyasha yelled for Kagome, his voice filled with desperation. "Kagome! Don't make any wishes! I'm coming for you!"

Sesshomaru, his eyes cold and determined, sliced through another wave of demons with his Bakusaiga. "We must reach her before the jewel can manipulate her," he said, his voice calm but urgent.

Kagome, in the darkness, heard their voices. The jewel spoke to her, its tone insidious. "Do you want to see them again? Be honest about your feelings."

Kagome paused, a memory surfacing. She remembered it was Kikyō's wish to see Inuyasha again, and even Naraku—his wish had been a modest one, born from Onigumo's desire for Kikyō's love. Unlike them, Kagome now understood that the Shikon Jewel would never grant the true, unselfish wish of its owner. The jewel couldn't trick her anymore.

The jewel's voice grew more desperate. "What will you do then, Kagome?"

Kagome recalled her grandfather's words, telling her that the correct wish would banish the Shikon Jewel forever. She spoke with firm resolve. "I won't make a wish. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru will come for me."

Within the jewel, Midoriko stopped mid-battle with the demons. She sheathed her sword as a warm light enveloped her and the demons. The jewel's true fear became clear to Kagome: it wanted her to take Midoriko's place inside the jewel, just as it wanted Naraku to take Magatsuhi's place.

The jewel's voice trembled. "You could escape this darkness, Kagome. Just make a wish."

Kagome shook her head, her heart resolute. "No. I won't become part of this cycle. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru will come for me."

Inuyasha's voice cut through the darkness again. "Kagome, hold on! We're almost there!"

Sesshomaru's strikes were relentless, his eyes fixed on the path ahead. "Do not falter," he commanded. "We are coming."

The warmth of Midoriko's light spread, pushing back the shadows. Kagome felt a surge of hope, knowing the brothers were fighting their way to her. The jewel's grip weakened, and its sinister whispers grew faint.

Inuyasha, fueled by Kagome's unwavering faith, slashed through the remaining demons. Sesshomaru, with a final, decisive blow, cleared the last of their obstacles. They broke through the darkness together, reaching Kagome's side. Their eyes met hers, and in that moment, the bond they shared shone brighter than any jewel.

"Kagome," Inuyasha breathed, relief flooding his voice.

Kagome smiled, her eyes shining with tears of joy. "I knew you'd come."

Inuyasha rushed to hug her, and she accepted his embrace, feeling the warmth and safety she had longed for. Before they could savor the moment, a growl interrupted them. Sesshomaru's gaze was intense, filled with a mixture of relief and longing.

"Yeah, yeah," Inuyasha grumbled, stepping aside with a small smile.

Sesshomaru, standing protectively beside her, took her in his arms, brushing his nose against hers before sliding it to her forehead. He placed a soft, tender kiss there. "Koi," he whispered, his voice filled with unspoken emotions.

"Sesshomaru," her voice broke, tears streaming down her face. "Please take me home."

He gave a nod, sharing a look of understanding and respect with Inuyasha. Inuyasha took Kagome's hand, while Sesshomaru kept his arm wrapped securely around her, both brothers united in their devotion to her.

"Shikon Jewel," she spoke with determination. "I'm ready to make my wish." The darkness immediately began to purge, and the jewel, with her sacred arrow embedded in it, shone a bright, vibrant color that flooded their senses. "Shikon Jewel, disappear forever!"

Just like three years ago, she watched as the jewel shattered into millions of tiny fragments. The jewel exploded, and warm sunlight filtered in, enveloping them in its gentle embrace.

Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru, her heart swelling with love and gratitude. "Sesshomaru, I love you," she whispered, her voice full of deep devotion. "Thank you for always protecting me."

Sesshomaru's eyes softened, his usual stoic expression giving way to a rare, genuine smile. "And I, you, Kagome. Always."

Inuyasha, standing by their side, felt a profound sense of peace. Though his love for Kagome was undeniable, he knew her heart belonged to Sesshomaru. He accepted it with grace, knowing that their bond was unbreakable.

Kagome felt the warmth of their shared connection, the strength of their love surrounding her. With Sesshomaru's arm around her and Inuyasha holding her hand, she knew she was finally home. The threat of the Shikon Jewel was gone, and the future, though uncertain, was now filled with hope and the promise of a life filled with love and peace.

In a flash of light, Kagome, along with Sesshomaru and Inuyasha, were transported to the Bone-Eater's Well in her time. The familiar surroundings of her family's shrine brought a rush of emotions. Her mother, grandfather, and little brother were there, crying and waiting for her.

"Kagome!" her mother cried out, tears streaming down her face. She immediately jumped out of the well, running into her mother's arms, feeling the warmth and love she had missed so much.

"Mom! I missed you so much," Kagome sobbed, holding her tightly. Her grandfather and Sōta joined the embrace, creating a cocoon of familial love and relief.

After a few moments, Kagome turned to introduce the two figures who had been her protectors, her best friend and her lover. "Mom, Grandpa, Sota, this is Sesshomaru. Inuyasha's brother, they both saved my life and helped me come back."

Sesshomaru stood tall and regal, while Inuyasha offered a small, reassuring smile.

"Thank you both for bringing my daughter back to us," Kagome's mother said, her voice filled with gratitude.

Sesshomaru inclined his head respectfully. "It was our duty and our honor."

Inuyasha grinned. "Yeah, we're just glad she's safe."

Suddenly, a strange light began to envelop Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. Kagome's heart skipped a beat, a sense of dread creeping over her.

"No, what's happening?" she cried out, reaching for them. "You can't leave me now!"

Sesshomaru's eyes met hers, filled with anger, longing, and fear. "Koi, our time here is ending."

Inuyasha nodded, his expression bittersweet. "You're home now, Kagome."

Tears streamed down Kagome's face as she clung to Sesshomaru's hand. "But I need you both. Please don't go."

Sesshomaru's grip tightened, his face a mask of intensity. With a swift movement, he pulled out a beautiful hairpin adorned with the crest of his house and handed it to her. "I will find you."

He gently cupped her face, his thumb brushing away her tears. He slid his nose against hers with affection, "this one will find you, i promise."

Inuyasha placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We'll always be with you, even if you can't see us."

The light grew brighter, enveloping them completely. Kagome's heart ached as she watched them disappear, their forms fading into the light.

"Goodbye," she whispered, her voice breaking. "I love you both."

As the light vanished, Kagome fell to her knees, screaming and crying, the weight of their absence crushing her. Her family gathered around her, offering comfort and support.

"I'm sorry, Kagome," her mother said softly, holding her close.
