As the Roman empire crumbles, young Romulus Augustus flees the city and embarks on a perilous voyage to Britain to track down a legion of supporters. It's a prequel to Beowulf: The Epic Tale.

6. Chapter 6 - Archfedd

Chapter 6: Archfedd:

Romulus' POV:

We were taking shelter in a small village. "Are you new here?"

"Yes," I said, "I'm Romulus."

"I'm Archfedd. Where are you from?"

She was beautiful. "Rome," I said.

Anthonix's POV:

"If Morgan is back we may have another problem," I said.

"It's just a rumor," says Aurelius, "Odoacer is the real threat!"

"Someone could have freed Morgan," I said.

"Who," asks Aurelius.

"I don't know," I said, "but she could strike at any time!"

Romulus' POV:

Archfedd was showing me around. "So, were you living in Rome when it got attacked," asks Archfedd.

"Yes," I said, "I lost my parents to those Goths!"

"You can't judge an entire civilization," says Archfedd.

"There is nothing civilized about them," I said.

"We're under attack," says a man.

. . .

We all looked and saw the goths... and some sort of wolf creature. "Is that a werewolf," I asked.

"We must defend the village," says Aurelius, "Legion, to arms!"

The Legion then got ready to fight!
