"Ms. Beauregarde, you are late for your meeting."

Violet tilted her head back a bit to look at her Oompa Loompa assistant, just enough to show that she had heard him, but not enough to take her look off her candy development. Normally, she would be annoyed that someone would be distracting her from her work, and she had always told the Oompa Loompas to only call her when the factory was on fire. She preferred to spend all her time perfecting her candy, making sure that every little detail about it was better and more appealing than what other companies did. It was either that, or she would be busy analyzing information from her so-called "rival" companies given to her by spies she had planted. These "rivals" have candy development far beyond what Violet had produced ever since she won the factory, however it was always better to keep herself ahead of the competition, even if she was miles ahead of the next contestant. If the rivals showed any new ideas that may hurt her factory, Violet would simply find ways to sabotage their efforts. Maybe tell the spy to put a bit of Snozzberry juice to make the taste go off. Or maybe alter some components on their grand candy machine to produce candy harder than a rock. Just enough to make sure their efforts go to waste, while making sure no one can trace it back to her.

She knows all the other candy companies have called her out on her tomfoolery. Herseys accused her for sabotaging their recipe on never-melt ice creams, causing ice cream to melt at any temperature (just shows their recipe does not work). Mars threatened to sue her for letting a Hornsnozzler secretly loose in their factory, leading every factory worker to contract Snozzfluenza (the court dismissed the case since "Hornsnozzlers" do not exist). Even Nestle had attempted to retaliate for Violet allegedly setting their inflammable chocolate on fire (who would want inflammable chocolate in the first place?). But they can't do anything to harm Violet's reputation, nor the reputation of the factory she inherited.

Nor did she feel anything for sabotaging their business and effectively transforming Wonka's factory into a monopoly. "Eyes on the prize, Violet," she repeats to herself.

And today, she will finally reach that final prize. It was why for once, Violet was not annoyed at her Oompa Loompa assistant. All the work she had done ever since Wonka took her in, and after Wonka eventually officially passed the factory to her, was for this single day.

Now normally, she wouldn't be so distracted on a day like this. She could have set her calendar to remind her about the events of the day. She could have just taken the day off, a premature celebration for what is to come. Heck, she hated it when people had to tell her what to do. It only reminded her of her mother, which never puts Violet in a good mood.

Unfortunately, when you are Violet Beauregarde, things are not so simple.

"Well you could have told me sooner then, couldn't you? What are you waiting for then? Come help me."

Assistant Oompa Loompa sighed. He never liked being Violet's "chauffeur", but all the Oompa Loompas were already waiting for her in the meeting room. Plus, he knows Violet doesn't like to wait. He walked behind Violet, making sure not to step on all the work she had been doing, and began rolling her towards the door.

Ever since Violet's victory in the tour, the factory had to make drastic changes in order to accommodate Violet's condition. You see, the factory was meant for normal human beings to traverse across. It was never meant for a giant, 20-foot blueberry. At least now, Violet never had to worry about getting stuck in the door.

In fact, increasing the size of every door, room, and hallway was not the only thing done to the factory. A chocolate river ran through the entire factory, allowing Violet to travel anywhere without having to be rolled across miles of factory ground. It took a few minutes, but once Violet was loaded onto the candy boat, she was off on her merry way to the meeting room.

The boat ride, in part, was always nostalgic to her. She would think back to the events that took place ten years ago, where she was one of the four lucky winners of the golden ticket. She did not care about chocolate at all, in fact she found it rather bland compared to her chewing gum. However, it was a competition she wanted to win, and so she sacrificed her gum with chocolate, and it had paid off. Within weeks, she found herself in front of the largest chocolate factory in the world. A sacrifice well made.

Violet's life so far had always been about sacrifice. She thought back to her experience in the fated inventing room. The room which, to many, would have become their downfall. She had fallen for Wonka's trick by taking the experimental gum to become the first human to chew a three-course gum. The consequences resulted in her current predicament: being completely blue, staining any clothes completely blue, and being completely filled with juice to the point where she became spherical, unable to move any parts of her body extensively, much less walk.

Oh the embarrassment she felt. Not because she had transformed into a blueberry. But because it meant she was going to be eliminated. Such a disgusting word, Violet never thought she would ever hear those words. Yet as she was being rolled across the inventing room, the Oompa Loompas singing about her demise, that was the only word she could think of.

But as the Oompa Loompas rolled her towards the door, she realized that, despite her condition, she was still very much fit to continue with the tour. She knew it would be inconvenient for her to remain a blueberry for the rest of the tour. She knew she would have the stares of everyone on the tour, especially the angry, judging eyes of her mother. But it was a sacrifice she was willing to make.

"Mr. Wonka!" Violet screamed as loud as she could. Her bloated cheeks muffled her voice, but it was loud enough to catch Wonka's attention. "Mr. Wonka, let me stay on the tour! Please!"

Wonka whistled for the Oompa Loompas to stop rolling her, just shy of the exit. "Violet, it would be very difficult for a blueberry like you to continue on with the tour. Besides, wouldn't it be easier if we juice you first?"

"But it can still work right? The doors, the hallways, even the candy boat. This factory is still big enough for me to travel through. I don't care about the juicing right now. I just need to finish the tour."

Wonka walked over to the blueberry, interested in her determination. "Yes it's true the factory can still hold a giant blueberry like you. But you do know we need all that juice out of you immediately. Who knows whether we can even turn you back to normal if you remain like this."

"Mr. Wonka. I can manage being a blueberry. But I cannot manage not finishing this tour. And I want to stay on this tour."

Violet heard Wonka go silent. She feared that he had just simply ignored her request, and that the Oompa Loompas would roll her out of the door to her doomed future. After all, she never saw Wonka this caught up in his thoughts, unless he was thinking about his father. Violet just closed her eyes, trying to accept that she will never get that final prize.

"Alright Violet. I guess it's on with the tour."

It was the words that had saved Violet's life.

The tour continued, with Violet traveling on the candy boat while the rest of the tour traveled on foot, as Violet's gigantic size meant only her mother and the Oompa Loompas rowing the boat could fit on the boat. It may have distanced her from the rest of the group, but Violet didn't mind. For what it's worth, it seemed like the group wasn't doing too well when she was away. Violet was able to catch every bit of each room and see what happened to everyone else. Her rival Veruca, being thrown into a garbage chute by a bunch of squirrels (she found it rather amusing and fitting for a snobbish girl like Veruca). That annoying, mumbling know-it-all Mike being tortured by the Oompa Loompas on TV, before coming out of it completely shrunken. Truly, the events of the factory were disastrous to everyone else as well. But they were ultimately eliminated from the tour. Violet was the only one standing.

And sure, it was not all smooth sailing from then either. Because of her decision to stay on the tour, the blueberry juice inside her became irremovable. Additional testing had shown that her DNA was almost-identical to that of a blueberry. She had become a blueberry permanently. But all did not seem so bad, as being a blueberry meant she never had to eat or drink again, nor did she have to use the bathroom. She just needed a few hours of sunlight each day to survive, allowing her to dedicate all her focus to her factory, and creating a variety of new candies. The most was mind-candy, which enhanced her mental capabilities and granted her some minor psychic abilities, further alleviating the fact that she could not move her arms. Too bad it wasn't enough for her to roll herself.

She also failed to perfect her nemesis, the three-course chewing gum. Years later, she had tested a heavily modified version on herself yet again, but unfortunately the side effects remained, and it only caused her to grow even further, leading to further expansions in the factory's infrastructure. But aside from being a larger blueberry, it did not affect Violet's daily life, and she shelved the gum project indefinitely, but not before sending two strips of the gum to the two that had given her the most grief in her life. Rumors had it that they are currently under a competition for the largest blueberry.

Even after all the trouble she went through, it had or would be paid off when Wonka said the three sweetest words Violet had heard. "Congratulations! You won!"

Violet blinked. She was back in the present, and she was in the meeting room, surrounded by all the Oompa Loompas that worked for her. Across the table was the head of every candy company in the world. Hersheys. Mars. Nestle. Every single one of them was right in front of Violet. And every single one of them was saying the same thing.

"Congratulations, you big blue bitch. You won."

The anger in all of their voices delighted Violet. Maybe because it was the thought at finally defeating them. Or maybe because Violet found it funny that the candy makers were all bested by a blueberry.

Although she could not see it, Violet knew in front of her was an incredibly long contract. The contract that had the signatures of every candy maker in the world, that pledged to hand over their chocolate companies to Violet.

It turns out, Violet's last few years of competition and sabotage not only created a monopoly, but also shut out any competition from forming ever again. Her candy was just so magnificent, so otherworldly, that they flew off the shelves faster than you can say "Vermicious Knids," leaving no one to buy from any other company. Today, she saw the results of her years of competition: absolute control over the candy industry.

With a stroke of a pen that she controlled with her mind, she signed the document. The candy industry was now under the control of a blueberry.

The Oompa Loompas cheered. Some began singing a song about the candy maker's demise. Others began dancing around the meeting room, some even jumping up and down Violet's body just like they did when they first rolled her all those years ago.

To Violet, the pride she felt at that moment eclipsed her own size as she felt herself sink into her blueberry body. She had never been better than today, not since Wonka announced her as the winner. Not since she saw her beastly mother launched out of the factory in a glass elevator, never to be seen again by her. Not since she became the heir apparent of Wonka's factory.

Violet thought about all the years that had happened since. Her apprenticeship under Wonka. Her sharp abilities allowed her to pick up everything within moments. Her eagerness to put those abilities to use immediately to shut down the competition. Her path in creating the candy that would take over the world and lead her into the current moment. Her growth from a young blueberry girl to a blossoming blueberry woman. All this success, but no Wonka to rub it on.

The last time Violet ever saw Wonka was right after he handed her the factory. The old, exhausted Wonka was ready to move on, out of the factory. But he just wanted to talk to Violet one last time.

Wonka sat down across from Violet, and she felt his eyes stare at her blueberry body. "You know, when you first pleaded with me to stay on the tour, it made me realize that you may have been the one I was looking for. Someone so determined to sacrifice everything to make it to the end, that was someone I wanted to see take over the factory." Wonka prodded at Violet's body. "But now, I believe I have made the wrong choice."

"Wrong choice?" Violet retorted, her blueberry cheeks failing to muffle the frustration displayed in her tone. "All these years of mentoring me. All these years seeing me bring the factory to a success you have never seen before. All these years to guarantee a future for me and the Oompa Loompas. And you think this is the wrong choice?"

Wonka sighed. "But all these years, did you really learn how to appreciate chocolate? To appreciate making candy? Ever since you came, the factory has lost all its glory. Instead of finding joy in making candy, you found joy beating the competition. Everything you do is not because you love your job. It's because you want to win. It's always because you want to win."

"Look around you. The Oompa Loompas had forgotten all the reasons to love chocolate. They have been corrupted by you, their blueberry overlord, and all the success that has come to the factory. They don't work at the factory because of the chocolate. They work at the factory because of the money. And I cannot believe it took me this long to see it through."

Violet remembered scoffing at Wonka."You know what, you're right. I don't appreciate chocolate. I don't appreciate candy at all, really, except for gum. Yet you still took me under as your successor. You still rode on my success so your factory can be pushed to new heights. You chose to stick with me so that you can claim some of this glory. I thought you were the parent that I wanted all along. Now, I see you're nothing but an old man, Wonka. An old man who knew deep inside that I've done more than what you have ever done in life and now wants to play the moral game when you have nothing else to show. You can say all you want, you can even shame me for losing my humanity. But your days are numbered, Wonka. I just hope you will love long enough for me to take over the candy industry, and do nothing but watch as everyone forgets who 'Willy Wonka' is."

Wonka slowly stood up and walked over to the clothes hanger. As he put on his jacket and top hand, he stared at Violet one last time. "You may be the owner of this factory, but you will never own my factory."

Violet only glared at him back, as she sneered at him one last time. "It's always eyes on the prize, Wonka."
