Chapter 26

"Yahoo! Man i'm awesome!" Naruto exclaimed before he suddenly stopped and looked at his hands sadly. "But would it be enough? Can i protect my precious people with this power?" He couldn't help but ask.

When he was about to go into depression once more, he saw a hand resting on his shoulder. He looked at the hand and soon looked up to see shinten smiling at him sadly. "Naruto, no matter how strong you become, you cannot save everyone." Shinten said with a far away look on his face.

Naruto was also about to give that same far away look, but he quickly shook his head and stared at his clinching fist determinedly. "No, i will save everyone. Even if i won't be able to save everyone, it dosen't mean i won't try. I don't care how many dangers i need to face, but it dosen't mean i will give up. I will train hard and soon become the strongest." He passionately exclaimed, which shinten couldn't help but give a smirk.

"If that's true, then you have me on your side, partner. I will train you and help you as much as i can. And we will soon defeat the rest of the remaining otsutsukis, who are roaming around the galaxies while destroying planets after planets. We... no you! You, will become the strongest and i, shinten otsutsuki, will help you to become the strongest." He gave naruto his own passionate words before extending his hand forward and gestured for a fist bump.

At first, naruto was shocked to hear that shinten will train him to become the strongest. But soon, that shocked expression slowly turned into a big foxy grin. He also extended his hand and gave him a fist bump. When their fists made contact with each other, their soul has connected for a brief moment before they pulled it back.

"Whoa, what was that?" Naruto asked, confused at seeing what just happened. Shinten looked at his fist with widened eyes, also confused at seeing what just happened. He clenched and unclenched his fist multiple times before he looked at naruto with a grin. "Naruto, do that again. I think i know what just happened." Shinten said to naruto who only looked at him in confusion, before deciding to trust shinten and raised his fist once more. Shinten also did the same and soon fist bumped with naruto before their eyes went wide as a dinner plate.

Slowly, they both looked at each other before bursting out into laughter. "Ah, that was good. For some reason, i feel like i now know you even better than before. You have somehow managed to connect both of our spirits. How did you do that?" Shinten asked with curiosity.

Naruto just scratch the back of his head. "I don't really know, but i think that might be ninshu. It's some sort of religion that super gigi made through his years, a belief that through connecting with each other's spirit, we can understand each other even better."

He then looked down and smiled sadly. "He wanted to achieve peace through this religion. But unfortunately, his elder son, indra otsutsuki has turned ninshu into ninjutsu."

Shinten looked at him and nodded in understanding. "I see. So i take that super gigi of yours is an otsutsuki who wanted to achieve peace by teaching humans how to use only the spiritual part of chakra so they can understand each other and live in peace instead of using both the spiritual and physical part of the chakra to rise conflicts."

Naruto gave him a nod. "That's exactly what happened. I was sort of hoping that after this war, people would finally understand that war and other conflicts will bring only pain and nothing more. But now, i don't think people will ever have the chance to understand what true peace is. Now, all i can do is to hope that people would find their peace in the afterlife." He said in a somber tone.

Shinten gave him an understanding smile. "Listen naruto, thinking about the past will do you no good. You need to move on and make new precious people in this world. And besides, you already have a precious person in this world." He said the last part with a teasing tone.

At first, naruto got a bit confused. But when the gears on his head stopped moving, he finally understood who he was talking about. "Oh, you mean xenovia-chan? Of course she is one of my precious people and i will protect her with all my abilities. Wait, that reminds me, i don't even have enough chakra to look for her!" He said with a paniced tone.

Shinten sighed and contemplated whether he should use the karma seal or not. While shinten was thinking, naruto is thinking about a plan of his own. "Man, this is a big problem. What can i do to solve this?" Naruto furiously used all his brain cells to think of something that might help him to recover his chakra reserves faster, but nothing came on his mind until this point. "Wait, senjutsu! Yes, i could have just used senjutsu chakra. Man i am so stupid." Naruto thought before mentally kicking himself for not realizing that he can just use senjutsu.

After mentally scolding himself, naruto quickly restricted his movement and stayed as calm as a statue. When shinten saw what naruto was doing, he got a bit confused for a few moments before he widened his eyes at sensing what naruto is doing right now. Shinten quickly came closer to naruto and delivered a right hand chop right at the top of his head, causing naruto to yell in pain while forcefully releasing the natural energy that he subconsciously collected.

"Ouch! Hey... why would you hit me like that?" Naruto asked to shinten while gently rubbing the growing bump on his head.

"You idiot! Do you realize that with the chakra reserve you have right now, you could have turned into a stone or better worse, explode like a nature bomb and not only destroy your self but the quarter of the planet as well!" Shinten half yelled, half scolded to naruto.

Naruto was a bit surprised at seeing shinten like this, but he quickly recovered from his shock and registered what shinten just said. "Wait, i got the stone part but what did you mean by explode like a nature bomb?" He asked with a confused tone.

Shinten looked at him and sighed. "Look, you haven't realized yet, but your chakra is much more denser and stronger than before. If you take the natural energy and fail to balance the chakra, then the nature chakra and your dense chakra will not only mix but will turn you into a walking talking bomb ready to either turn into a stone or explode like a gigantic bomb ready to destroy a quarter of the planet." Shinten said with a serious tone.

Naruto mentally gulped his saliva and sweated a little at hearing what shinten just said. "Whoa, that would be a disaster. Man, i'm glad you have stopped me before i mess up. Thanks shinten." Naruto said in relief.

Shinten gave him a chuckle. "No worries naruto, i'm always here for you." Shinten said with a smile.

Naruto smiled as well, but that smile soon turned into a frown. "But my chakra recovery is still very slow, and we are running out of time." He said in worry before he looked at shinten with beging eyes. "Shinten, isn't there any way we can recover my chakra faster?" Naruto desperately asked to shinten who only gave him a sigh.

Shinten looked down and thought for a few moments before giving another sigh. He then looked at naruto with so much seriousness that it made naruto sweat. "Listen to me naruto, i'm about to tell you something that might freak you out, but i want you to trust me on this, alright?" Shinten asked, which naruto gave him a confused look but nodded anyway.

Shinten nodded as well and soon took a deep breath before he started to explain about the seal. "Naruto, the black diamond shaped mark that's at your right palm, is what we call Karma seal. Karma, basically means resurrection. This seal is a resurrection seal that holds an otsutsuki's DNA formula and memories. Through a karma seal, an otsutsuki resurrect themselves by a process known as otsutsuki-fication. This process slowly turns the body into a full blood otsutsuki."

He then pointed his index finger towards the seal. "This seal on your hand is specifically mine, which means this seal holds my DNA formula and my memories. Thanks to this seal, i have managed to turn you into 50 percent otsutsuki which holds 35 percent of my DNA." Shinten finally finished explaining, and slowly looked at naruto with nervous gaze.

Naruto was speechless. He would never have imagined that otsutsukis are capable of resurrection through this seal called, karma seal. Naruto looked down and didn't say anything. Both naruto and shinten fell into a silence that none of them wanted to break. But after a few moments of silence, naruto finally spoke up. "T-that's a lot to take in. I would have never imagined that every otsutsukis are capable of resurrection."

He then gave a hollowed chuckle. "And if that's true, then it would be pointless even if we kill them. They can just resurrect themselves and come back again." Naruto said with a slight horror expression.

Shinten looked at naruto and put his hands on his shoulders while gently squeezing them to get his attention. "Yes, that might be true. But.. they can still be killed if the one who's fighting is you and you only."

When naruto heard that, he immediately snapped his head up and looked at shinten with widened eyes. "What do you mean by that shinten?" Naruto asked, which shinten gave him a reassuring smile. "Because, this body is already possess by someone else and only one otsutsuki can possess one body. So they cannot resurrect through you since not only i am in your body but you're also gonna fight with them alone. If you bring someone with you in the fight, then the otsutsuki can just resurrect him or her selves through the person you bring to the fight. So unless you do that, you don't even have to worry about them getting resurrected." Shinten explained, which naruto gave a sigh of relief.

He then looked at shinten and gave him a questioning look. "Shinten, why are you telling me this now? What are you trying to tell me?" Naruto asked with suspicion.

Shinten sweated a little in nervousness before he looked at naruto with a sigh. "It's because the karma seal dosen't only resurrect, but it will also give you the ability to neutralize and absorb any types of chakra based attacks, and it will also give you a massive chakra boost."

When naruto heard about the boost, he immediately cut him off from further explanations. "Wait, chakra boost? Shinten, why didn't you tell me about this before." Naruto asked with annoyance.

Shinten didn't say anything for a while, before he gave naruto a very serious look. "It's because the moment you use the karma seal, the otsutsuki-fication process will immediately start to turn you into a full one hundred percent otsutsuki. I can stop myself from resurrecting in your body which is not gonna be a big problem, but the real problem is that you won't be a human anymore." Shinten said to naruto who only gave a sigh.

Naruto sat down on the ground in silence, contemplating what he should do? After all, this is about his humanity we are talking about.

Naruto and shinten didn't say anything for a while, before naruto spoke up. "Let's do it."

Shinten snapped his head towards naruto and looked at him in surprise. "What?" That's the only word he could think of.

"What what?" Naruto asked to shinten who only looked at him with a deadpanned expression.

"You just said that you want to give up your humanity in exchange for more chakra and power." Shinten said in surprise.

Naruto looked at him and gave him a sad smile. "You know? I don't really care about being a human anymore. I have lost my people, my comrades, and my precious ones. I guess being the survivor and the last human of my planet might be the reason why i haven't let go of the past just yet. The guilt that i feel everyday, the guilt of being the only one who survived the destruction, makes it feel unbearable. It feels like i have betrayed them by escaping the destruction and not even trying to save them. It feels like i have spit on their trust. So if i give up my humanity, maybe that will lessen my guilt and maybe i can finally let the past go and move on." Naruto said in a sad tone.

Shinten looked at him and couldn't help but frown. It sounded like he is trying to run away from his past. But he can't really blame him since he understands where he is coming from.

With a last sigh, shinten looked at him seriously. "Naruto, are you sure? Think again because the moment it starts, there will be no way of returning back."

Naruto gave him a serious stare. "Yeah, i have made up my mind. So let's just stop talking and start the process already."

Shinten couldn't help but shake his head sadly, but the sad expression soon turned into a serious look. "Alright, wake up in the real world. And get ready to become an otsutsuki." Shinten said with a serious tone.

Naruto nodded and was about to get out of the subconscious, but stopped when he remembered something. "Hey shinten, is it possible for me to not get those horns. No offense but they kinda look freaky." Naruto said with a sheepish expression.

Shinten gave him a chuckle. "None taken. And i think i can change the DNA structure so you won't get the horns." Shinten said while formed a thinking expression.

Naruto gave him his true smile. After the spiritual connection between the two of them, naruto now understands shinten even more better than before and he also knows that shinten would never try to take over his body. So with one last glance, naruto slowly faded from the subconscious.
