Seconds after hopping into the portal, Selene finds herself back in the very place she followed Magica earlier. As expected, the Void looked the same as when she came here. Although Evil Magica or E.M. for short, was no longer on the rock she was on when they left.

"E.M.?" Selene called, looking around as she walked over to the imitated trees, bushes, rocks, and plants in the open area near the portal, trying to find her. "E.M. are you here!?"

The Goddess quickly found it useless to call for E.M. seeing that she was nowhere nearby to hear. Just as Selene was about to look in a specific part of the Void, she noticed a dim yet noticeable light beyond the trees that faced the portal. Believing that's where E.M. could be, Selene hurried past the trees to the murky glow she spotted and was left stunned at the clearing.

Beyond the trees she was underneath, Selene looked at a perfect replica of the castle that was above the village. Despite being alike, this castle was darker and surrounded by a moat of pristine darkness with only a bridge connecting it to the solid land.

'She has to be in there...Somewhere.' Thought Selene as she looked around one last time before heading toward the castle.

After walking over the bridge and entering the building, Selene looked around from the replicated hallway, even peaking into the nearby rooms. It was just phenomenal that E.M. was capable of recreating a building deep within Magica's mind in such a short period. It'd probably be enough to leave Hephaestus jealous.

Though the rooms on this floor were vacant, the very last place Selene had yet to check was the throne room. Looking at the doors to the room itself, the Goddess approached and carefully put her head against the door to listen for sound. To her luck, there was a sound coming from the other side of the room, though it wasn't E.M.'s voice, which was slightly confusing.

Cautiously, Selene quietly and slowly opened one of the double doors and peaked in. Immediately after, she began to relax, seeing it was only E.M. in the throne room in her...Throne. She was lying back with her arms on the armrest, looking at a TV that was floating right in front of her. From what Selene could guess, she was watching a show that she, Magica, and Webby would watch.

Upon entering the room, E.M. looked up directly at Selene, who gave a small wave, making her sigh. "What? What do you want?"

"I was looking for you." Selene approached and looked behind E.M. to see that even the treasure was replicated. "I'm...Also impressed that you made an exact copy of the castle here."

"Not like I have anything else to make in this incremental abyss to be at." E.M. summoned a wineglass into her hand and took a sip as Selene realized something.

"Wait...Aren't you supposed to be in Magica's mind?"

"Eh." Evil Magica shrugged. "I can be in and out of her mind at any time at my will. She doesn't have control over me, even if she wanted to."

Finishing off her drink, E.M. shattered the wineglass, making the fragments evaporate. "But onto crucial matters, why were you looking for me? And don't say love. Because if it's that...I'd walk away now."

Selene shook her head. "No. I want to help you."

"Help...Me?" E.M. then groaned. "You might as well back away before I blast you. Just because you're Magica's girlfriend, wife, or whoever doesn't mean I won't hurt you."

"For what reason or purpose?" Selene asked with her hands raised. "I didn't come here to fight nor am I here to provoke you in any way."

E.M. tried to think of either one but found herself incapable of finding an answer to justify her actions against the Goddess. Rather than become aggravated or frustrated, E.M. just rolled her eyes.

"Do I need to remind you of what I've done? I eradicated a population like the plague. I transformed residents into witless animals. And reduced families of young and old into dust." E.M. held up 3 fingers each of what she did before sitting up from her throne. "I don't need your help. Now go away."

Selene watched E.M. walk over to the windows that gave a view of the void, seemingly looking out at the darkness past the rocks and trees. Either she was deep in her thoughts about what she had done that led up to this or looking directly at something that Selene couldn't see herself.

When the silence lasted more than expected, Selene walked over to E.M.

"E.M., you need help." She stood beside her. "I know I still can't forgive you for what you've done...Yet I know deep down you aren't to blame. Not you and not Magica."

Suddenly Selene started to notice something off about Magica's bad persona, looking her up and down, which she noticed.

"Mind explaining the look?" E.M. side-eyed Selene questioningly.

"You're...Not as tall as Magica."

"I'm not a part of Magica's mentality or personality. Because of it, I'm left like this...In her previous stature." She looked at Selene sternly. "Now before you get side-tracked again, explain what you were saying."

With a nod, Selene tells E.M. "I want to get you out of here so you can be free and no longer trapped...That and for another reason." She continued. "While what you've done was inexcusable, the first time we met I sensed that some of it may have not been intentional, as if someone or something managed to force you into doing it, regardless if it was against the innocent or immoral. If so, I want to help you find out who or what was the cause of it and bring justice to both you and those who've done nothing wrong."

E.M. turned away from the window, seemingly inquisitive by Selene's proposal before looking slightly down.

"I hate being here, even before Magica became good...But how are you going to get me out of this place without damaging our powers?" E.M. asked. "If you separate me and Magica, that will weaken the magic we've learned and collected over the years."

"I can use my powers to separate you two and remain tethered to each other by only your magic to avoid drainage or fatigue." Selene demonstrates this by holding up her hand, making glow blue, shocking E.M. "Think of the tethered magic as the light and darkness on the moon. Whether it's the day or night, they will always be together, never apart."

"You...You can do that!?"

"Yes, though before I do, you're going to have to make a promise."

E.M. nodded, now facing her fully. "Sure, just tell me and I'll listen."

The Goddess is pleased to hear this and tells Evil Magica in a stern tone. "Promise me that you'll try to do better. Don't cause too many problems, unless someone tries to harm us. Okay?

All E.M. could do was sigh. "I promise...Anything to finally leave this place. But, why all this? It can't just be to help me and..." She shivered almost in disgust. "Justice..."

Selene simply smiled and stepped forward. "Well...While you're not Magica, you are a part of her." She stopped when there was a small gap between her and E.M. as she placed her hands on her shoulders. "Although you're still bad, I see you just like how I see her."

Before E.M. could utter a word, Selene slowly leaned in and kissed her on the lips of her beak. Upon making contact beak-to-beak, Evil Magica froze up but was soon enticed by the smooth yet softness that was the Goddess' beak, pressing against hers. After a little while, Selene pulled away from the kiss, looking at the now stunned and wide-eyed E.M., who remained frozen like a statue.

Nearly half a minute and Selene started to worry for E.M. who remained stiff with wide eyes because of what she had done.

"E.M. are yo-huh?"

E.M. grasped Selene's shoulders and pulled her into a kiss, though unlike hers, it was fiery and alluring. The Goddess had moaned through the kiss as the Sorceress' tongue played with hers. At the same time, E.M. held Selene close with one hand on the back of her head and the other on her back, close to touching her rear.

Pulling away Selene looked surprised at first but noticed E.M. smiling at her, which in turn made her smile back. When E.M. noticed this, she dropped the look and cleared her throat, looking back at Selene with her casual expression.

"Alright...I'm ready. Use whatever powers you have to free me from here."

"It won't be from the book I brought." After saying this, Selene curved her hands and touched her fingertips to the palms, forming a circle as her eyes glowed blue. "This'll only take a moment. You might feel a little pinch."

Selene fired a blue beam at E.M. before she could speak about the last part. She gasped, feeling a brief ache in her body before shutting her eyes and clenching her fists as she started floating. The blue glow began to cover her as she felt her body separating from Magica, all except for their magic that remained conjoined.

If there's one way for E.M. to describe what it felt like, it felt like she was free-falling thousands of feet in the air through a rain cloud.

"Almost done..." Selene uttered as she kept her magic focused on E.M. "And..."

The entire room was flooded with a blue flash from E.M., blinding Selene as she shielded her eyes, engulfed by the light she created. For a moment, the blue light illuminated the entire void, just long enough to reveal enormous neurons that were hidden beyond the everlasting darkness.

Meanwhile: The Castle

Slowly, Selene began opening her eyes, seeing the familiar stone ceiling.

"U-Ugh...What happened?"

Sitting up, she was slightly surprised that she wasn't outside the bedroom where she had opened the portal. She was in the throne room, the real one in the world.

Seeing someone from the corner of her eye, Selene turned to see E.M. lying right beside her, beginning to wake up as well.

"E.M.?"

Selene looked in shock as E.M. sat up, holding the top of her head before shaking it.

"Ow...What?" Opening her eyes to glance at Selene, E.M. realized something was off. Rubbing her eyes, she blinked several times, ensuring her vision wasn't deceiving her.

In haste, she got up from the floor and ran to a window. Instead of darkness, she saw the town, along with the sea, and clouds in the sky, beyond the clouds, the moon itself, shining over everything.

"I'm...I'm free?" She held out her hand and watched as her staff similar to Magica's, appeared in her grasp, making her smile. "Endless darkness' gone, moonlight in the sky, whole control of my magic, I am free! Hehehe-hahaha-" She was then smacked across her face and beak.

Glaring, E.M. turned to see Selene looking back at her steely.

"E.M...Remember your promise." Selene reminded. "Otherwise, I'll send you back."

E.M. tsked. "Fine. But was slapping my face necessary?" She then mumbled to herself. "You could've aimed lower."

"It was." Said Selene. "Now-"

"Explain to me why she's here and out of my mind?"

Selene and E.M. turned to see Magica standing at the double doors frowning, seeing the latter where she shouldn't. Summoning her staff, she aimed it at E.M. to lift her by the throat, until Selene intervened, who she turned to.

"Honey, wait, she won't hurt anyone!" Exclaimed Selene. "She pledged not to!"

Looking between her and E.M. Magica groaned and released her telekinetic magic before pointing at her.

"Stay right where you are and don't, try, anything!" Magica asked, receiving a nod from E.M. as she looked at Selene and walked toward her. "And Selene...What were you thinking!? Not only will our magic weaken, but you've freed a murderer responsible for the death of parents, children, and other innocent denizens!"

E.M. looked down in shame before Selene stood in front of her. "Magica, I know this doesn't look good to you, but please listen to me."

Magica looked unsure, remaining stern, which Selene noticed as she reached out and gently held her hands.

"Please? For me? I'll tell you everything. What you want to know, and what you need to know."

Seeing that she was speaking truthfully, Magica softened her expression slightly. She glared pithily at E.M. and then looked back at Selene with the same soft face. She did this for a few seconds before giving a defeated sigh.

"Ok...I'll listen. Come. You too...E.M." Magica walked over to the double doors, which Selene followed with E.M. beside her.

Later

E.M. was outside the 2nd-floor hall, sitting and tapping her foot on the stone floor while Magica and Selene were inside their bedroom. In the bedroom, Selene clarified to Magica everything that had occurred after she returned to the Void, both the separation and E.M.'s past causes.

By the time Selene had finished, Magica was surprised by the information, conflicted even. Mostly the information about Evil Magica, how she may have been manipulated into doing away with victims of their past.

After some silence, just enough to take it all in, Magica looked down at her hands. "So...My magic?"

Selene nodded. "I separated you and E.M. by body, but not by the magic that's now tethered to her and you. It's all there, you won't weaken."

Feeling relieved, Magica looked over at the door. "And E.M.?

"She'll be staying with us."

Though assured that she won't be going anywhere, Magica was still wary.

"...I still don't trust her." She sat down on her bed, and Selene sat beside her.

"I know you don't. But we can't let her leave the castle. Not until we're sure she won't hurt anyone...And sending her back to the Void is not an option."

Magica sighed. "Okay...Okay, fine. But I'll be keeping my eyes on her and I don't want her touching anything. That includes you and our daughter, I don't want her to be near her."

Selene giggled. "Well, no promises since she's you after all. She may be bad, but she still shares the same feelings as you, my young duck.."

Receiving a kiss on the cheek, Magica rolled her eyes and smiled as she touched Selene's hand. "You're lucky you're too beautiful to hold a grudge against."

A small blush appeared on Selene's face as Magica got up and walked over to the door. Stopping, she looked back at Selene and tapped the end of her staff on the floor.

Suddenly, Selene's clothes vanished, exposing her white skin as the moonlight reflected from her body. Looking down her blush deepened as Magica's smirk grew.

"Just needed to see if my magic was the same or not."

Instead of covering herself, Selene flashed a flirtatious smile to Magica. Bringing one leg up on the bed and stretching out the other, she rested her arm on her leg to the knee and leaned back. Supporting herself with her elbow Selene rested her head on her hand, giving Magica the finest view of her bare form.

Satisfied, Magica tapped her staff on the floor again, making Selene's clothes reappear on her body.

"I'll be back...I need to talk to her."

Trusting Magica, Selene gave a nod and watched as she left their room.

Out in the hall, E.M. who had been staring out the window near her, heard Magica leave the bedroom and turned in time to see her shut the door from behind.

E.M.'s brows furrowed slightly at the absence of Selene. "Let me guess, you're sending me back?"

Magica, who had returned to her stern expression, shook her head. "My lover already explained to me what had happened...My, lover."

Though surprised she's not being sent back, E.M. is a bit perplexed by Magica's repeat of what she calls Selene.

Realizing, E.M. rolled her eyes. "Oh, relax. I'm not a total stranger, we're the same in appearance...And is what you say true? I'm not going back to the Void in your head?"

Magica nodded. "You're staying here. But because you are, doesn't mean I trust you...Not yet anyways." Magica muttered. "And since you're under my roof now, I can't let you use your magic, so..."

With a couple of taps to the stone ground with her staff and a flash, Magica watched as E.M.'s magic separated from her. A sparkling mist of green and purple mirrored E.M.'s form before being absorbed into her staff, which Magica made vanish afterward.

Looking at her now snow-white skin, E.M. sighed. "To think that separation spell wouldn't weaken me."

"It didn't, but that doesn't stop me from nullifying you when I need to."

"Nullifying me when...Wait." E.M.'s eyes grew. "You could've used that spell the whole time we were fighting?!"

"No. That spell would've only worked on me at the time." Magica smiled. "But now that you have a physical body..."

E.M. groaned. "...Fine, I get it. Can you just tell me what the arrangements for me will be? Now that I'm a part of this residence."

"Ah yes, the arrangments." Began Magica. "For starters, you'll be sleeping in the throne room, my Shadows should be setting up a spare mattress as we speak. You will also be helping us around the castle whenever asked, that includes cleaning and washing."

"I'm not a slob!" E.M. clarified, which Magica ignored.

"Try to be nice, I'm sure Selene had you make a promise on that. As for anything else...Well, as long as it's nothing harmful or pesky, it should be fine, and remember...Selene and I have our eyes on you. Is that all clear?"

Instead of repeating herself, E.M. groaned and crossed her arms. "Crystal."

Later That Night

Back in their bedroom, Selene and Magica were in bed, already in their nightdress, blue and purple respectively. They were preparing to go to bed...Or they were, only for Magica to notice Selene glaring at her with her arms crossed after being told what she said to E.M.

"...What?"

Selene sighed. "I know you don't trust her Magica, but it isn't right to make her sleep in the throne room on a mattress alone." She shook her head in disapproval.

"I gave her a blanket and a pillow." Said Magica before Selene held her shoulders.

"Don't treat her like an animal, Magica, treat her with kindness. Let her sleep with us tonight."

Selene leaned forward and locked the lips of her beak with Magica's, kissing her as she kissed in return. A light-hearted moan came from the two as they pulled away.

Magica sighed. "You're right. If I could do the same for Poe, I should do the same for E.M." Raising her hand, she snapped her fingers.

In a poof, E.M. appeared right above the foot of their bed mid-air. Unfortunately, she was on her side with her hands under her head and a blanket over her body, waking up.

"...Uh?"

With wide eyes and a gasp, E.M. flailed her arms and legs only to fall and hit the floor.

"Magica!" Selene glared at Magica, who shrugged.

"Oops, my bad."

Selene rolled her eyes before E.M. stood up, dusting herself before looking at the pair. with the back of her hands against her hips "I just got comfortable. What could you possibly want at this hour?"

Without the blanket covering her body, Magica and Selene can see E.M. is wearing a nightdress that looks similar in design to Magica's. It was sleeveless with sparkles resembling magic, except E.M.'s was a darker purple, a violet color unlike Magica's purple. Also similar to Magica and Selene's, E.M.'s nightdress was transparent, giving them a good view of her bra and undies that hugged her body underneath.

"Nothing. We just want you to come and sleep with us." Selene smiled while Magica slightly sterned at E.M. who was confused.

"Uhh...Isn't the brat here sleeping with you?" E.M. was then lifted with magic by Selene, shocking her.

"Webby's sleeping over at my mother's." Selene brought E.M. over and had her place between her and Magica. "So you can sleep with us."

Wrapping her arms around E.M., Selene kisses her on the head and lays her head on the pillow with her beside her. Magica chuckled at this and laid her head on the pillow, wrapping her arms around E.M. and Selene, who did the same to her.

"Don't get any funny ideas."

After warning E.M. in a whisper, Magica went to sleep, as did Selene. Meanwhile, E.M. stared at the ceiling, lying on her back, still held by the two, unable to move as she sighed.

It was useless to try and get out of their grasp, so instead of trying to get out, E.M. looked at the sleeping Selene and Magica. While it seemed like the perfect time to escape, E.M. decided not to bother.

Without magic, she wouldn't get far, and...It was rather, cozy, better than the mattress she was laying on. Also on the bright side, she was no longer caged, no longer in the Void, and no longer trapped in a place shrouded in darkness.

E.M. couldn't help but smile a bit as she snuggled in the arms of the Goddess and Sorceress, closing her eyes, and falling asleep.
