Chapter 14
Sometime later Emma had to go to a shift while Cleo, Rikki and Sora were at Cleo's house studying Max's research they were given from Lewis. Rikki had gone downstairs to get snacks while there was an unexpected knock at the door. She calls for Cleo to answer it but the person at the door gets impatient and keeps knocking. Rikki eventually answers it, who is the expected guess that has turned up?
"Door Knocking"
Rikki: Cleo! Someone's at the door!
Door knocks repeatly until Rikki answers
Rikki: Charlotte!?
Charlotte: I need to see Cleo!
Rikki points towards the stairs and Charlotte charges up towards Cleo's bedroom unannounced by this stage Cleo was on top of the stairs in shock.
Cleo: CHARLOTTE? HI!
Charlotte: I need to speak to you NOW!
Cleo (nervously): Um sure, come with me...
Cleo leads Charlotte towards her bedroom with Rikki following behind with her arms folded but not saying a word.
Sora: Cleo is anything alri...oh hi!
Charlotte: Hello...
Cleo: Charlotte this is...
Charlotte: The new kid!
Sora: Ha ha you've got me! i'm Sora nice to meet you!
Charlotte (serious voice): Pleasure...
As Sora gazed at the red haired girl who had just barged into Cleo's bedroom, his senses were tingling. He could sense that this girl was trouble but couldn't sense any dark magic on her.
Cleo: Soooo what was it you wished to see me about?
Rikki: Yeah we are kinda in the middle of something!
Charlotte: Lewis has been spending a lot of time with you lately.
Cleo: Yeah your right!
Charlotte: So what's this project that your're working on?
Cleo, Rikki and Sora look at each other knowing that Lewis must have said something to Charlotte. They all glupped.
Cleo: Project?...this old bag of stuff?
Rikki: We found this at the market and Lewis is just helping us sort throught it all.
Sora: Lewis love that kind of thing!
Rikki: Nerds like him seem to think this stuff is gold, no offense!
Cleo: Its just some research he's helping us with.
Charlotte: ...Sorry. I must seem really paranoid...
Cleo: Really no!
Charlotte: I just really needed to know
Sora: Totally understand!
Charlotte: I really appreciate you being so cool about it...
Charlotte proceeds to leave the bedroom but then notices that Cleo had moved away from the pin up board that was behind her.
Charlotte: Where did you get that?
Cleo: Oh, that was just with the rest of the junk.
Charlotte: Well, what's so special about it?
Sora: No reason, its just such a pretty picture!
Charlotte: That's my Grandmother...
Cleo, Rikki & Sora: WHAT?
Charlotte: Her name was Gracie, why do you have a picture of my Grandmother?
Before Charlotte left she demanded to take the photo with her. Cleo, Rikki and Sora felt they had no choice but to allow her to take it. They immeditately inform Emma and Lewis about it at the cafe.
Cleo: Charlotte recognised it was Gracie in a second
Rikki: She took the photo with her
Lewis: and you let her?
Sora: How could we say no?
Emma: Do you think she knows about her Grandmother?
Cleo: This is really, really bad!
Lewis: Guys, just hold on a second, Ok! There's no way Charlotte could possibly know anything!
Rikki: How do you know that?
Lewis: You guys have kept being a mermaid a secret from your families?
Lewis looks over to Sora.
Lewis: and your merman secret Sora.
Sora made a slight coughing noise, he hadn't kepted his merman identity a secret. He had a feeling that all his friends would know by now about what was going on with him knowing Donald and Goofy. Yet he has managed to keep the secret from his own parents for now along with the rest of the things he has been doing lately!
Sora: Um...yeah...
Emma: Sora are you alright?
Sora: Yeah *cough*, *cough* just swallowed the wrong way!
Lewis: Gracie probably did too
Rikki: or maybe not!
Emma: Lewis, find out what she knows.
Lewis: Find out what she knows? What do you want me to do? Interrogate her?
Rikki: If that's what it takess, i don't mind!
Lewis: I'm not going to, you guys are overreacting
Emma: Why are you taking her side?
Lewis: I'm not taking anyones side!
Cleo: Yes, you are, I thought you were meant to be helping us not her!
Rikki: Lewis you think you've got Charlotte worked out, but you have to admit this is really weird.
Lewis: I'm sure there's just a simple explanation, maybe, maybe not!
Rikki: Think about it, how well do you really know Charlotte?
Sora was beginning to worry that there would be an argument about to start so he stood up from his seat and decided to end the argument before it starts.
Sora: Ok! Wow! Hey say Lewis, how about you go and see her now, she was looking for you earlier that's why she came to Cleo's house. Apparently you both were mean't to meet up?
Lewis: Fine! I'll go and see her...
Note from the Author: You might find some of the speech familar, i was tying in with the episode "The Gracie Code Part 2" where Charlotte begins to get suspecious about the girls and spots the picture of her Grandmother Gracie. So i did give it a bit of a spice up to involve Sora. So i cannot take the credit for a lot of the speech but i hope you still enjoy.
