Chapter 15
The next day arrives and the girls, Sora and Lewis meet up at Mako Island. Lewis informs the gang that Charlotte doesn't know a thing. Little do they know Charlotte had arrived at Cleo's house and had convinced Kim to let her in. Telling the girl that Cleo would hate for someone to go through her room with Kim really enjoying the fact that it would make her sister angry. Max's research that was scattered around Cleo's bedroom. She then finds something of interest to her, the old film! The gang return from Mako to Cleo's house some time later.
Cleo: Why is my door open and where's the old film gone?
Kim: i never touched anything in your room!
Cleo: Well stuffs missing and you're the only one that's been home.
Kim: Well, why would i want to take any of that junk anyway?
Emma: She's got a point, why would she take it?
Cleo: Because she's Kim, what did you do with it?
Kim: I already told you, it wasn't me. Someone else must have taken it.
Sora: Maybe?
Sora had a sudden throught that maybe the Heartless got into Cleo's house and took the film.
Rikki: Alright, you've had your fun, squirt, out with it!
Kim: Ok, ok it was Charlotte!
Cleo: What?
Kim: She wanted stuff for your project
Cleo: What project?
Kim: How should i know?
Kim leaves the room
Cleo: Charlotte took the film
Emma: Yeah but why?
Rikki: It's just of Max fishing, isn't it?
Sora: The film, Charlotte's got the film? It could be nothing or not!
Lewis: It's just home movies, we think
Emma: So you've seen it?
Lewis: The first part. We didn't have a projector, so we left it there. It didn't seem important.
Cleo: Lewis, she broke into my room and stole it!
Lewis: You said she was cool.
Cleo: Yeah i know.
Rikki: Well, its not like she can watch it, right?
Lewis: You can't really play one of those old films on a DVD player, unless she gets it transferred to a disk.
Emma: You think we should have gone back there?
Rikki: No way! The further away we are from her, the better i feel!
Sora: But perhaps we should keep an eye on her?
Meanwhile unknowingly Charlotte had the film transferred to a DVD disk and was now in the JuicyNet Cafe watching it on one of the cafe's computers. Lewis had come to find her listening to Sora's suggestion of keeping an eye on her and was shocked to see what she was up to! Then a particular image began to come up and he immediately recoginsed it was a young Max and a young Gracie at the Moon Pool 50 years ago! He reminded behind Charlotte in shock but then to his horror the film began to show Max throwing Gracie into the Moon Pool and guess what happens next! Gracie appears with a tail! Charlotte seemed to know that Lewis was standing behind her and looked over her shoulder at Lewis also in deep shock. They leave the cafe.
Lewis: Come on. There is no such thing as mermaids!
Charlotte: Lewis, you saw the film with your own eyes.
Lewis: This is crazy
Charlotte: She always used to tell me stories about the sea. Now i know why!
Lewis: Why? Because she's a mythical sea creature? I don't think so.
Charlotte: I always knew she was different, i always knew she was special. Now it all makes sense. I just wish i could have spent more time with her.
Lewis: So that's what this is all about?
Charlotte: What?
Lewis: You miss her. You miss her so much that you broke into Cleo's room, you stole the film, just so you could learn more about her.
Charlotte: and look what i found, she was a mermaid!
Lewis: Mermaids, they aren't real. Charlotte, all you have is an old film with some kids fooling around. It's a joke, it has to be.
Charlotte: Yeah maybe...
Lewis: Good, let's get out of there!
Charlotte: but what if it was real? What would that make me?
Lewis: It doesn't make you anything. Come on.
Charlotte: Hmmmm so...that new kid has been hanging out with you guys a lot.
Lewis: Oh Sora? Yeah he's a cool dude!
While Lewis walks Charlotte away from the JuicyNet Cafe. Sora was spying making sure that everything landed up ok with Lewis knowing. Sora noticed that Lewis was doing a thumbs up behind his back. He then immediately went to report back to Cleo, Emma and Rikki.
Rikki: So she thinks mermaids are real?
Sora: Possibly yes, does she have a reason to suspect you guys or myself even?
Emma: She wouldn't be suspected of you Sora, its more us then you. You guys have basically only just met!
Cleo: Well apart from the fact that we had pictures of her Grandmother the mernaid!
Rikki: As well as the film...
Sora: Ok, apart from that...
Emma: Lewis is going to have to stop her!
Cleo: Sora, we need your help too!
Sora: Absolutely for sure but from what i've seen, that's going to be harder then you think!
Note from the Author: This chapter and the previous have been blended in with the episode "The Gracie Code Part 2" where i have used lot of the speech. I have changed a few little sayings here and there and who the saying has come from to involve Sora.
