Theseus and the Minotaur

Theseus is a legendary hero who was considered an early king of Athens. Famously killing villains, Amazons, and centaurs, Theseus' most celebrated adventure was his slaying of the fearsome Minotaur in the labyrinth of the Cretan king Minos.

1. Chapter 1 - Poseidon

Chapter 1: Poseidon:

Poseidon's Story:

This is the story of Theseus! Aegeus, one of the primordial kings of Athens, was childless. Desiring an heir, he asked the Oracle of Delphi for advice.

"Do not loosen the bulging mouth of the wineskin until you have reached the height of Athens, lest you die of grief."

"I do not understand," says Aegeus. He was then disappointed.

He then married Aethra, the Princess of Troezen!

. . .

One night, when Aethra left the sleeping Aegeus and was near the shore, and... let's just say I got involved...

After Aethra was pregnant, Aegeus decided to return to Athens. Before leaving, however, he buried his sandals and sword under a huge rock and told Aethra that when their son grew up, he should move the rock, if he were heroic enough, and take the tokens for himself as evidence of his royal parentage.
