Chapter 6: Land of the Bebrycians:
Jason's POV:
We were back on our journey. "I still feel bad for what happened," says Atalanta.
"I will write songs about them," says Orpheus.
"Land ho," says Meleager.
We then docked.
. . .
"Welcome, I am Amycus, King of the Bebryces!"
"Greetings," I said.
"So, where would you travelers be off to," asks Amycus.
"We're going to find the Golden Fleece," I said.
Amycus and his people then laughed. "Well, perhaps one of you would like to engage in some... friendly competition?"
"I don't like the way he said that," says Pollux.
. . .
We were then taken to this arena. "What is the competition," I asked.
"Simple," says Amycus, "I box one of you and if I win, I kill whoever I defeat!"
We were all horrified.
"None of us is going to agree to that," says Atalanta.
"Forget it," says Argus.
"Are you mad," asks Orpheus.
"We're leaving," I said.
"Goodbye," says Meleager.
"Come on, Pollux," says Castor.
"I'll do it," says Pollux.
"What," we all said.
. . .
Pollux and Amycus were getting ready to box. "What is he doing," asks Atalanta.
"Something stupid," says Argus.
"Pollux, do you know what could happen if you lose," asks Castor.
"I've always been the best boxer," says Pollux, "I got this!"
Pollux and Amycus then boxed. Amycus won the first round, then Pollux won the second. Then came the final round and... Pollux won! We all cheered. "Well, you won," says Amycus, "you may go!"
"Not so fast," says Pollux, " someone has to make sure you don't continue with this!"
. . .
And now no one will have to worry about Amycus ever again!
