When you wake up you notice a couple of things before you even open your eyes. First, you are still on the couch and your neck is killing you from being in an awkward position. Second, you are alone. With a deep growl you rub your eyes furiously before you open them and move slowly to a sitting position. You are never sleeping on the couch again, that's a fact. For a moment you look around, looking for your woman, but when you smell coffee, you decide she is probably in the kitchen.

The next thing you do is grab your phone and look for any new message. Nothing. For a moment you think the net collapsed, or your phone just got stuck during the night, so you restart it, getting the same result. You decide Quinn might just as well be ignoring you.

With a scoff you get up and walk slowly towards your kitchen, finding Dani there, just as you thought. She must hear you, though, because she instantly turns around and offers you a soft, loving smile, that you reciprocate.

"You are awake." She states with a playful wink as you take a seat on one of the stools unceremoniously. Most likely, you throw yourself onto it. "Want some coffee, grumpy-pants?" She asks, but before you can even think of replying, there is already a steamy cup of black coffee right in front of you. God, you love this woman.

"You are an angel." You mutter taking your first sip, and feeling instantly better.

"How are you feeling?" She asks honestly concerned and you have to take a moment to think about what she is talking about. Ah, the fainting.

"Fine, I'm fine." You answer clearing your throat. The real answer is that you are nowhere near fine. "You know how stressed I've been lately. I just need to rest." You say looking at her through your thick eyelashes. It's not a complete lie after all, you did faint and you have indeed been overly stressed, but you know deep down that the panic attack was caused by her.

Dani slowly walks towards you, positioning herself between your legs, leaning gingerly over your left thigh with her ass, almost as she was sitting on you, but with her feet still firmly on the floor.

"You know, I've been thinking..." She starts, trailing a stray strand of your hair with her fingertips till it's secured behind your ear. "Maybe we should go on a vacation." You can't help but smile lovingly at her. "We could go to Hawaii. I know how much you love the beaches in Maui." She adds almost whispering, just as if she was telling you a secret.

You are about to tell her yes. You have wanted to go on a trip with her for a long time and you really need to escape reality right now. But then reality hits you again, hard. What if while you are away Brittany's state worsens? What if something happens that you need to take care of, like signing more papers, and you are not here to do it? You wouldn't forgive yourself if something happened to her because you decide to go on a little vacation.

"I'd love to, baby." You answer truthfully. You really want to. "But you know how important the New York Fashion Week is. I can't just leave. It would look like we are eloping of something." You try to joke in order to hide your true conflicted feelings.

"Would that be so bad?" Dani asks and for a moment you are confused, but then you realise the glint of mischief in her eyes and you let out a chuckle.

"No, it wouldn't." You answer, wrapping your arm around her waist and giving her a loving kiss on the cheek.

Suddenly you hear the beep of your home from the living room, signalling you got a new message and you feel the baby hairs on the nape of your neck rising to full attention.

"I think I'm going to shower. I feel disgusting." You say calmly, trying to mask as best as you can all your emotions.

Dani lets you go, and on your way to the bathroom, you grab your phone. You do feel filthy actually, so you might as well shower anyway, but first things first. You have a new message.

~Heard she moved there a couple years ago. Haven't talked to her for a long time tho. Why? - Q. Fabray

You frown. Last time you checked, Brittany and Quinn were besties. Even Quinn was siding with her after your break up, even if she still loved you dearly. Now you wonder what else has happened during the last ten years that you have no knowledge of.

~Long story. Can I call you later? - S. Lopez

You turn the water on in the shower to let it warm up while you wait for Quinn's reply.

~Sure. I'm free tonight - Q. Frabay

Satisfied, you don't answer anymore, you just jump in the shower, moaning softly at the feeling of the hot, scalding, water relaxing your muscles.

Half an hour later you emerge from a cloud of steam, clad only in a towel, your wet hair falling over your shoulders, feeling as good as new. You find Dani in your bedroom, just sitting over the bed reading the newspaper. As she looks at you, you can absolutely see how her pupils blow, and how she licks her lips hungrily.

"I honestly wonder what you do to become hotter and hotter everyday..." She mutters huskily and motions to you with a 'come hither' gesture. You oblige. You are feeling great and you want to shut the voice in the back of your head that only knows how to spell Brittany for once and for all. Sex with your extremely hot, extremely compliant wife is exactly what you need.

With a sinful smirk you move slowly towards her, letting the towel fall to the floor as you sway your hips deliciously. Dani's mouth just waters at the sight of you. You know very well what you are doing to her. Next thing you know, she is screaming your name as she thrashes beneath you.

You feel really bad about lying to Dani, you really do, but she knows how much you have suffered for Brittany, and how long it took you to get over it. Actually one of the times you broke things off with Dani in the beginning was to get back with Brittany. It would simply destroy her. You just need to get yourself together and go on with your life.

It's late at night, and your wife is off to work, when your phone rings. You pick up without looking at the caller's I.D, assuming it's Quinn.

"Hi." You simply say.

"Uhm, hi, Santana?" Asks a female voice, just not the one you were expecting. "It's Dr. Holiday." Damn it.

"Huh, yeah, good evening, doctor." You stutter.

"I just wanted to know how are you feeling?" She asks and you really believe she is worried about you. "Also to let you know that Miss Pierce is now out of surgery and everything has gone great." She adds, of course worrying about you wasn't the real reason for her to call.

"Okay. Thanks." You said and you are about to hang up when she speaks again.

"You didn't tell me how you are." She says and you can't help but smile.

"I'll be okay." You ask as honestly as you can.

When you finish the conversation with Dr. Holiday, you decide it's time to call Quinn. But you really don't want to talk about anything related to your past. Having Brittany here is hurtful enough. You closed that door long time ago, and you probably would have left Quinn as well behind it, but you couldn't, you loved her too much. Yet you really don't want to talk to her right now, even if you really need answers.

You decide to go for a walk. Some fresh air will do you good, you are sure, and maybe it will give you the willpower to make that call.

Little did you know you were walking aimlessly, not really paying too much attention to where your feet where taking you, until you find yourself in front of Saint Mary's Hospital.
