Chapter 4: Another Kral Zera
Honerva watches secretly as the other members of the Galra debate on who should rule. But to her surprise the flame is still lit. Lotor is still alive. Her theory must be true. That Voltron and her son were just forced back into the rift. That must be it. It has to be. Her son cannot be dead.
"The Archivist!"
Using this as her chance she teleports behind the Archivist and simply teleports him to another location. The Galrans all gasp but she puts her hand out in a placating gesture. "The flame is still lit! Your Emperor Lotor lives. And I can get you to him. All you have to do is follow me!"
"Follow you! Are you crazy! Lotor is dead. He hasn't been seen by any of us or the other Galrans. Just because the flame is lit does mean your little theory proves true."
"He pierced the through veil and if we can just get to him our Empire will have entered a new era of peace and longevity alongside Voltron…."
"Are you out of your mind! Voltron is also gone, fighting that freak Zethrid and they haven't been seen either!"
"But…"
"No buts! Besides, you're not one of us witch! Why would you ever think we've ever follow you!?"
Rage mingled with grief consumes her and she slips. Tilting her head, "Oh if that's how it's going to be and then none of you deserve a chance at the Galran throne." She smiles wickedly and raises both of arms out to perform a spell. A spell that sucks the life energy right out of those ungrateful Galrans. They had a chance at peace. A chance at a better future! Why not take it?
She grins when the purple runes surround them and glow and all she can hear is their delightsome dreams.
But when the light fades and she can't see them, she realizes what she has done. Becoming sorrowful she falls onto the ground. What has she done? Ruined the Empire even further. Looking back at the lit flame still burning brightly, she will find her son and Voltron and then help them make this right. It is her fault. But the Galrans here didn't want her to rule so why should the others?
Then she remembers. The Altean Colony! Then she flinches as she remembers she also hurt them as well. Made a second colony to harvest the ones who had the most quintessence in them. She shudders. But perhaps if she spun a tale they would believe her. After all they had believed her she claimed she was sent from Lotor once upon a time. But this time the tale won't hurt them but help her find her son, their savior and the one thing that can bring peace to the fractured universe. Voltron.
