AN: The book trilogy that is talked about in here is by RJ Scott and it's called Lancaster Falls trilogy. The first book is What Lies Beneath which always makes me think of that Harrison Ford movie lol, but this is a gay romance thriller/mystery. I have yet to finish the trilogy, but I might just do that now that I'm reading again after months of barely being able to get through more than 5 books a month when was averaging 20. I hit a slump and was kind of in a mood because had once again been stuck in the wheelchair unable to walk because foot issues. We so far back to walking after a week. Hoping that things go better this time around.
AN2: There is a question for you all below about another story. Also the seven book series that they were talking about is Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson first series which book seven comes out in September. I just love his books and need to continue the series I was reading last year.
Summary: Buck and Tommy are cuddled up on the couch together.
Title: Couch Cuddles
Buck was lying on the couch on top of Tommy. He'd done this before, but he'd been the one on the bottom. It felt nice to be the one being held for a chance. They weren't even doing anything really. Besides listening to a book together. He had one ear bud in, and Tommy had the other. It was a book that Tommy had picked out this time. They switched off who got to pick. If for some reason the other wasn't feeling it they could stop. The one that was enjoying it could finish it on their own.
It was storming out and he'd just wanted to snuggle up and not think about it. He used to love storms, and he still did in a way, but the lighting made him jumpy. He figured dying from getting struck by it could do that to a person. He used to play outside in them as a kid and teen. He'd never really care if it was pouring the rain and he was getting soaked, then or now. Tommy and he sometimes took walks in the rain, just not storms. He also enjoyed laying down and letting the rain hit against his skin if it wasn't coming down too hard. They might have had sex in the rain a few times.
Now, he didn't want to chance lighting striking twice. Therefore, he was laying in his boyfriend's arms. Tommy's hand moving up and down his bare back. They'd stripped down so they both had on a pair of sleep shorts. Their legs tangled up together. Tommy didn't complain that he wore socks because his feet froze even in the summer heat. He blamed the blood thinners he used to be on. He stayed cold a lot so at times he'd put a hoodie on even if it was a hot out and he was inside.
He felt safe lying in Tommy's arms like nothing was going to touch him. He could hear his boyfriend's heart beating below his free ear. His hand moving over chest. Ever so often as he laid there, he'd turn his head kissing the same spot. He could feel Tommy's lips on the top of his head ever so often. His life was good, and he didn't want anything to change. He thanked the fates for bringing Tommy into his life. He honestly didn't want to know where he'd be without him. He'd been feeling lost and like he wouldn't be loved for who he was.
The last six months getting to know Tommy had been wonderful. He'd found they both had abandonment issues. He liked that his boyfriend didn't care what other's thought about him. He'd be who he wanted to be after years of suppressing that side of himself he was who he was and didn't give a shit. Sweet, kind and a good heart. Tommy craved being in control, but there were times he'd give it over to him.
Buck knew for him to do that he trusted him. he'd do anything he could not to break that trust. They checked in on each other, made sure that they were okay. If it was a bad day they talked, didn't hold anything back. He let out a happy sigh because life was great right now. He wasn't waiting for the other shoe to drop either. He was living his life in the moment.
He was trying not to fall asleep, but he was so comfortable. The book was almost over, it was the last chapter, so he was wanting to know what happened. It had been a great book. He didn't even know how they'd started this. They didn't always get to listen to it together like today. They could both listen and understand on two times speed. They both thought that sounded like a person talking normal. Anything lower than two and it sounded like robots.
The book had been a gay murder mystery thriller. Tommy had read all three books before, but it had been a while, so he'd wanted to share them with him. This time listen to them instead of physically read them. Though they did physically read books the other suggested too. He had been finding so many incredible books.
Tommy, Christopher and him also did a monthly book read together. They'd been introducing Tommy to some books they had enjoyed. That Buck knew how started. Christopher had given Tommy a book one day and told him to read it. They'd gotten Tommy hooked on the series. It had kind of been funny too. Eddie was still a work in progress on getting him into some of their favorites. Some Eddie liked, others he couldn't get into.
"Wait, that's it?" Buck asked hearing the ending. "How can it end there?" He couldn't believe it left on a cliffhanger.
"There are another two books, Evan. I did say this was the first of a trilogy." Tommy chuckled. The way Evan sounded so appalled by the book for not wrapping things up was cute. "We can always start the second book if you want, after we find something for lunch." He offered. "It is your turn to pick. We can listen to something else if you want too."
"No, I want to hear the second book. Though, I'm thinking we might need a nap first. Then we can have lunch." Buck said fighting a yawn. The weather and the book's narrator had been trying to lure him to sleep. "If you don't mind taking a nap. If you want to do something you can. I can let you up." He loved his Tommy shaped pillow and hoped he didn't want to get up.
"I got nothing to do, baby. You want to stay here or go stretch out on the bed?" Tommy asked running his fingers down Evan's spine.
He loved touching Evan and there were times when that's all he wanted to do. Sit or lay and move his hands over Evan's body. If this was a dream he didn't want to be woken up. It felt too good to be true. He had to keep reminding himself that it was his life now. Being with Evan was like seeing the world in a whole new light. One that had him just lying on the couch cuddling on a rainy stormy day. Sharing a favorite book with his boyfriend.
He'd been enjoying those monthly reads with the two of them and Christopher as well. He had binged an entire six book set in a week because he'd loved them. Half he'd had to listen on audio, but he hadn't minded. He might have gotten so lost in the world once he had forgotten what he'd supposed to have been doing. The seventh book was coming out in September and he'd already pre-ordered a three copies of it for them to read.
"Good, because I gotta know how this all ends." Buck said. "We can stay here, too comfortable to get up." He added turning his head and kissing Tommy's chest above where his heart was beating.
He then shifted a little bringing Tommy's arm around locking their fingers together. The ones that at the nails were painted with black nail polish. He had found it hot that on occasion Tommy would do that. He'd gotten him to do his too. They'd take it off before they had to go back on shift, only wear it inside the house when they were mostly alone. Though Eddie and Christopher had seen it before. They hadn't made any kind of comment about it either. They were still their selves. It didn't have to be a big deal if they wanted to express their selves in different ways together.
EN: Thanks in advance for reviews and kudos. Hope you enjoyed even though it's really short.
Question for those who know about my Buck/Tommy, Eddie/Rocker series that got going. I have been struggling on how to end the thing. I got the thing wrapped up, but do you all want to have a chapter each of sexy time with the couples and a chapter with them as a family with Christopher. I have rewritten chapter 21 six or seven times because I struggled on how to end the thing. Or would you all want a sequel story with them all doing something fun together and just go ahead and post the 20 chapters I do have finished? This is the story that has Rocker's past coming back from when he was on the bomb squad?
