Orario is facing a difficult time, not since the departure of Zeus and Hera Familias by their rivals Loki and Freya. Who now became the strongest for the past 15 years. Evilus have made their move across the city ensuing death and chaos.
A meeting has been called by the Gods and with a few of their members included. Most of them started bickering and accusing each other of being a traitor. Some tried to ceased it, others were bored and others find it amusing. it
"Enough!" A voice echoed.
All of them turned to Ouranos who was rubbing his temples. He began.
"I have summoned you here because we have a common enemy," The God said. "And yet you bicker like children!"
"Well sowwy Oranous," Loki spoke up childishly. "My kids are too focused on planning for their expedition and all of sudden Evilus kept popping out of nowhere unlike before."
"So put it simply," Freya said. "They are more active compared to when Zeus and Hera Familias were still active. Which leads us to our next problem."
"Rakia." Ganesha inquired.
"What?" Bete raised an eyebrow. "That God and his army of weaklings are still going at it?"
Many of the Gods agreed to the werewolf. Then suddenly a voice had spoken.
"Don't assume that everything is going to be the same Vanargndr." Everyone looked at the newly arrived guest.
"Who are you?" Bete questioned as he glared at the new visitor.
The Visitor was a human with snow white hair, crimson eyes and a white skin tone. He wore a brown leather on his right hand, a white tunic, a black leather jacket, a belt with a silver buckle, black trousers and a pair brown leather shoes. He also wore a badge, a kind of badge which Finn and Gareth recognized. Hermes who hadn't showed up when the Denatus had started came to to side of the new guest and announced.
"Allow me, to present to you to Bell Morningstar!" Hermes exclaimed. "Captain of the new Zeus Familia and favored grandson of Hera and-"
Bell placed a hand of the God's shoulder.
"That's enough with the introduction Lord Hermes."
"Ah straight to the point are we?" The God smirked and went to the seats. The everyone were shocked that the visitor is from Zeus Familia.
"Hold on a sec," Loki rose from her seat and pointed her finger at Bell. "We banished Zeus and Hera from Orario. If your from Zeus Familia then why are you here?!"
"It's because I asked them to be here." Ouranus answered.
All of the Gods were shocked, Loki and Freya glared at him. But the goddess of beauty shifted her gaze to Bell looked into his soul and found herself in awe and desire.
'What a beautiful soul.' She thought.
Finn, Gareth, Riveria, and Ottarl were concerned on what Zeus and Hera were planning. Others like Bete who assumed that he is nothing more than a mere weakling who has never stepped foot on the dungeon. Then there are others like Ais, who seemed intrigued at his presence.
"Where are Zeus and Hera?" Ouranus questioned Bell. "I thought they would come?"
Bell's responded. "They are... busy and they said that they have other matters that's worth their attention and so they sent me instead."
The god sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "And it seems they are still angry at about 15 years ago. But knowing Hera she never lets go of a grudge."
"Your an Equalizer?" Finn looked suspiciously at Bell. "Your not here just to help us are you?"
"Heh," Bell stifled a laugh. "Yeah, you got me there. I'm here to keep an eye over you."
This surprised most of the gods and mortals. Those who knew Zeus and Hera always knew that they would come back. What they were not expecting is an Equalizer would come out of the blue.
"What's an Equalizer?" Tiona asked.
Lefiya who has heard of them. "They are type of Familia who safe guard the surface world from monsters."
"So weaker version of us?" Bete raised an eyebrow.
"I wouldn't underestimate them Bete," Finn snapped. "They not only take down monsters, but they are capable of taking down other Familias even killing them if necessary."
Most of the younger members were silent. But Bete remained skeptical.
"Your joking right?"
"No, he's not," Gareth said. "Back in my mining days, I have seen them take down a level 6 beastman. A LEVEL 6 through sheer tactical strategies."
Raul asked the dwarf. "Um... how did this beastman got taken down and what did he do?"
"He was an assassin," Gareth recalled. "He was most likely hired from rival mining company to eliminate us. The Equalizers defeated him by using specialized whistle that makes high pitch sound which severely hurts his ear and weakening him with poison before they were able to put him into custody."
"Pffft, what a cowardly move."
"Which would make our jobs of subduing you much more easier." Tiona smiled earning a glare from the Werewolf.
Back to the important conversation.
"Why?" Riveria asked.
"A year ago, a rich merchant hired 4 Equalizers and I was one of the 4," Bell answered. "During the middle of our trip, we were ambushed by a giant caterpillar-like monster. It killed two of the Equalizers and the merchant along with his goods."
Loki Familia were tense at what Bell has spoke about the monster. Unfortunately, a few has caught on about it and Bell is one of the few. He cleverly played along and continued.
"A Giant caterpillar?"Allen scoffed. "Yeah right!"
Bell gave a smirk. "I was hoping one of you would give that kind of answer."
Bell took out his badge from his jacket, most of them were curious about the item. To their surprise, it showed a video projection of Bell's chest view (like a body camera). It displayed to them what looks like he was riding on the seat next to an Equalizer outside the carriage out in the open road.
They could see there are two other Equalizers on horseback riding on each side of the transportation while one is riding infront. Everything was going peacefully, then suddenly there was an earthquake. The horses began to panic out fear and an unknown force knocked Bell and the carriage he was riding on the dirt.
"What is that thing?!" An Equalizer shouted.
In Bell's point of view, he got up saw what indeed a giant monstrous Caterpillar that emerged from the ground. Everyone in were shocked at what they saw in the video.
The voice of the merchant can be heard inside carriage. But unfortunately, the monster crushed it, killing the merchant in the process and scaring away the freed horses. The Equalizer who was knocked down along with Bell brought out a bow and arrow and shot it's head.
The arrow hits its mark causing to raised it's head and roared in annoyance. Bell noticed that it had dissolved from in the wound and the blood had spilled on the surface had sizzled on the surface. Bell heard a war-cry from a fellow Equalizer, he whipped head around a saw the said Equalizer who just dismounted from his horse and charged at the monster with a Dane axe.
"Wait! Don't!" Bell's warning fell to dead ears.
The axe wielding Equalizer jumped and swung his weapon on the monster's head and it's blood poured out. The Equalizer's agony scream was cut short as the torrent of blood poured on to him and instantly dissolving him.
The most of the watchers looked at scene in horror. A certain few winced and Ottarl looked at the monster with interest.
The Equalizer who is still on horseback. "To hell with this! I'm outta here!"
Bete clicked his tongue at the cowardly equalizer. "Tsk, pussy."
"Coward!" The bowman Equalizer shouted.
As the Coward fled on his horse, a torrent of acid blasted in the Equalizer. The remaining Equalizer looked up at the monster. It was about to launch another acid attack, Bell grabbed the archer and jumped from where they once stood.
The acid torrent destroyed the landscape and the monster continued to aim it at the two. Bell charged forward at the torrent and trusted his right open hand.
"FIREBOLT!" Bell casted a fiery lightning spell.
Bell's spell slammed against the torrent and easily overpowered it to the point that it disintegrated the monster's head easily. The onlookers became shocked at Bell's display of power. Most began muttering about the return of the monster familias. A few grew concerned about another potential threat.
Ottar grew intrigued and grew to respect the rabbit as a scion of two powerful Familias. Ais also finds him intriguing for someone so who is so powerful and has not entered dungeon. They all began to wonder of what level he is.
Now understanding that they have the idea. Bell turned off the video from his Equalizer badge and tucked it away.
"It was because of this incident," Bell spoke up. "The people have been growing unease and now began to wonder if the current strongest familias can handle Evilus. Other Familias considering on joining with Ares thinking they could do a better job."
Bete crossed his arms. "How can a bunch of weaklings think they could do a better job!"
Bell responded. "Ever since the title of the strongest Familias had been handed to you-"
"Handed to us?" Allen cut him off with an edge at his voice and rose from his seat. But Ottar placed a hand forced to him to sit down with minimum effort. Both boar and cat stared into each other and very quickly the boar won the silent argument.
"I'm gonna do you guys a solid by being realistic," Bell sighed. "We both know that you didn't earn that title by beating them."
The audience gasped at this, it is true that Loki and Freya Familia couldn't beat them in any way. But now no one had the guts say it right in their faces. Hermes managed to hold in his laughter, but can't keep a straight face
Those words hit a low blow to two top familias. The more levelheaded members saw the truth in it. Finn and Ottar shook their heads that they still have a long way to go.
The hot and hard headed were enraged at it. But were restrained by the others, Bell continued on.
"It handed over to you when by the people who threw rocks at my family," Bell stated the truth with a defiant glare making others shook their heads in shame. "My grandparents agreed to be banished in order to keep peace and out of the blue you came along and replace them because you were the only ones with high enough levels to qualify in being the strongest. Some Familias accepted it, but others refused."
"And why is that?" Loki frowned and demanded.
"Because some of those Familias had fought alongside with my family for generations before they came to Orario," Bell answered. "Even now, they refused to accept it and were unimpressed at your progress. Although, I must admit reaching the 59th is the only good compliment they made by most people. But some considered it to be... passable."
Loki Familia frowned at the last part. Finn held a strong suspicion about it. But the Pallum decided that it was not the right time to ask.
"That's their problem if they don't wanna move on," Bete crossed and smirked. "But too bad they can't go beyond the 59th floor because they're dead!"
Most people gasped at Bete's words. Finn immediately elbowed him hard on the stomach earning a glare from the Werewolf. But, Finn's glare was intimidating enough to keep his mouth shut.
They all wondered what Bell is going to do. Loki Familia readied themselves while Freya Familia looked at them then to Bell.
"Heh, touche." Bell laughed which surprised them.
"It's true that most of my family is dead," Bell grimaced and turned in to mocking smirk right into Bete's direction. "But there has never been another Level 8 and 9 among Orario's ranks for the past 15 years is there?"
Everyone became silent at Bell's words as it was another low blow, most of the veterans had a twitch in their eye. Bete grew angry at Bell's taunt about his slow progress to rank up. But his companions restrained him, unfortunately Bell wasn't finished.
"And you know that they are calling you?" He said. "The upstart opportunists."
"UPSTART!?" Allen shouted and this time he is angry.
Ottar was about to restrain him, but Vana Freya quickly leaped up from his hand and tackled Bell into the hall entrance. Most of the people paled at the cat man's action, most of Freya Familia and Bete rooted for Allen to teach Bell a lesson. But Ottar and most of Loki Familia were concerned of the outcome.
Freya was curious about how Bell handle against Allen. The trickster Loki just stared at the hall entrance. They heard the sound of smashing, shouting and grunts.
A bloodied and bruised Allen Fromel was thrown out of the entrance and tumbled on the floor. Everyone was in shock yet again at what they are seeing. Ottar sighed at the outcome of the fight. Freya Familia glared at Bell even more intently who walked back in approaching Allen.
Ais and Freya grew even more interested at Bell. Loki Familia has grown even more concerned at him. Bete Loga silently stared at him.
"And just like that Vana Freya falls," Bell placed his foot on Allen's chest which made him groan in pain. "I am unimpressed."
Allen who has a cut over his left eye as his blood poured on it, glared at Bell with his right eye.
He manage to say. "What the hell are you?"
"You could say I was born special," Bell answered. "But I will leave it up to you."
Bell turned to onlookers and said. "The people outside could no longer trust you."
"So Equalizers had Zeus and Hera sent you to keep us in line as insurance and are more familiar to the city than any of them?" Finn deduced.
"Yes," Bell nodded. "The Equalizer Council called for my family and sent me to keep an eye on you. Fortunately, they told me all about you."
"But know this old man," Bell glared at Finn and the Braver glared in return. "Zeus and Hera did send me to deal with Evilius. But, they are not expecting me to bring miracles. They are expecting me to settle scores and I don't have to provoke you or make the first move."
The Rabbit lifted his boot from Allen's chest. Vana Freya was hauled by the medical staff. Allen cursed underneath his breath at Bell.
"And if you think I'm a threat to your reign as the strongest," Bell pointed himself. "Wait until you meet the rest of my family who are eager to settle the score."
