That night Charlie moved into Claire's old tent and both Jin and Sun moved themselves closer to the tent. Sun walked over to Charlie and said, "we are going to need a routine of how to look after Aaron and who looks after him at what times".
Charlie responded "yeah, that sounds good and can I say that I'm really grateful and thankful to you for helping me. I don't your help after what I did to you, and I can never forgive myself for it ".
Sun responded, "well this is really for Aaron, but I forgive you because I have also done things that hurt people".
Charlie asked, "like what".
Sun told him "I was one that poisoned Micheal, me and Kate. I was trying to poison Jin but got the wrong person. I did it because I wanted him to stay on the island and stay with me but instead of talking to him, I decided to poison him, and I accidently got Micheal instead. So, I know what it is like to hurt someone when your emotions get the better of you".
Charlie said, "with actions like ours, we shouldn't be allowed anywhere near children".
Sun laughed at this and said, "probably not but they need us Aaron and this little one right here". They planned their schedule and went to bed.
Charlie hears Aaron in the morning and goes to feed him, he feeds him milk and sees Claire calling to him from the jungle, he is confused to see Claire, his dead Claire calling out to him and walks over to her. Charlie says, "how are you here, your dead".
Claire responds "I'm not yet, but I will be if you don't save me. I need you to save me Charlie".
Charlie asks, "how do I save you Claire".
Claire answered "by following me, if you follow me; you will save me and we can be together all three us, together. Isn't that what you want; for us to be a family".
Charlie nodded followed Claire into the jungle and Desmond awoke to a vision of him, Jin, and Hurley walking by a beach with Hurley saying, "this is the beach you were looking for; the one with the cable in the sand", they then see a light in the sky. The next moment Desmond sees is a picture of him and Penny, and then a parachutist in a tree which Jin and Hurley catch. Desmond knows that he has to go now to reach Penny because she's coming to the island. He is about to wake Hurley when he realises that his vision didn't contain Charlie's death and thought it was over, he had saved him for good and was no longer going to die. He then thought that maybe Claire took his place, and it was a trade he unwillingly made by saving him, he then feel sad that she had to die but then thought that he might have actually got it wrong and were leading to Penny because she was coming or a test from God like him doing good things and saved Charlie meant he would be rewarded now. Desmond didn't care which because he was about to see Penny again.
Desmond awoke Hurley and Jin and Desmond informed Hurley "I had another vision but not of Charlie's death but of us getting rescued and this is how we do it". They got Jin to come, and all left the camp.
They walked to the beach with the cable in the sand and Hurley exclaimed "this is the beach you were looking for; the one with the cable in the sand". They then heard a helicopter out in the distance before hearing it fail and crash. All three then see a light in the sky of a falling parachutist and decide to go after it, they took their time to get there since it was night and wanted to avoid any traps from Rousseau. Sun noticed in the morning that both Charlie and Aaron were gone and tried to find them but couldn't.
She alerted this to Jack, who replied "okay I'll try to find him". Jack went to have a small search for Charlie taking Sayid with him but found nothing. Desmond, Hurley, and Jin found the parachutist and Desmond was surprised that it was not Penny but a woman who had a picture of him and Penny together and knew him. Mikhail ran into the trio and offered to save Naomi if they let him go. They agreed and Mikhail saved her life but tried to flee with the satellite phone. Mikhail failed and they returned to camp with Naomi.
Everyone was in shock about Charlie and Aaron's disappearance. Kate reminded them
"Charlie did act strange and took Aaron once before when he was depressed about Claire, maybe Claire's death sent him over the edge".
Bernard replied, "well there is always a chance that they were taken by the Others, because it's sort of what they do".
Kate said, "you're right and I tried to find a trail but there is nothing, and Charlie does not know how to hide his tracks so I'm willing to believe that it was the Others".
This remark put everyone on edge about whether the Others would take them, since the beach always felt like a safe haven from the Others at least with them always trying to blend in like Ethan, Ben, or Juliet but now it felt like they could be hunted at any time. They all went to bed and didn't realise the return of Desmond, Jin, and Hurley. They found out about Naomi before seeing Sawyer headed out into the jungle to got to the bathroom. Sawyer runs into Locke who sends him on a mission to kill Ben, but it turns out that it's really Locke's father, Locke wants killed because he screwed them both over and Sawyer kills Anthony Cooper and Locke informs him "James I don't have prove but Juliet is a mole, she is still working for Ben".
Sawyer replied, "thanks for the news update, John boy but we already figured that out when she killed Claire".
Locke confused said "what I only thought they were coming to take pregnant women".
Sawyer informed him "yeah well she screwed up and it got Claire killed but there will be no information getting to that bug eyed son of a bitch because I already killed her".
Locke replied, "good because we can not let them take anymore people". Locke goes back to the Others with his father's body and Sawyer returned to camp.
Desmond brings in Sayid and tells him about Naomi and her boat because they can no longer trust Jack. They organise a camp meeting to tell everyone about Naomi. Jack then informs them that he realised that he needed to do something about the Others to gain their trust back and has a plan to attack them, by blowing the Others up when they come for the women. They plan their attack and Desmond has a vision about him going down to the Looking Glass and turning off a signal jammer. They get the message from Karl that the Others are coming and While Sayid, Jin, and Bernard stayed to deal with the Others, Jack leads everyone but Desmond to the radio tower.
