In a house on a stormy night, you could see a girl who must have been reading because she still had a book open on her bed. But at first sight, she had fallen asleep. The girl began to move in her sleep.

She dreamt of flying around the city. She was having fun and laughing. But just then, she started to fall straight to the ground and began to scream. As she got closer and closer to the ground, she braced herself for the impact of hitting the ground. But before she hit the ground, she woke up.

She looked around to see that she was no longer in her bedroom. She appeared to be in the basement of the house. Her parents came down the stairs towards her.

"What happened, Kitty? Were you sleepwalking?" asked the girl's father.

"No, I fell! I just fell through the ceiling!" Kitty realised before crying hysterically as she hugged her mother.

"Discovery. Mutant signature. The second detected in the vicinity. Extrapolation complete. Identity confirmed. Name: Kitty Pryde. Resides in : Northbrook. Age: 15." Said Cerebro's robotic voice before Professor Xavier removed the helmet and put it away.

The professor removed Cerebro's helmet from his head and put it away. Deker then approached behind the professor.

"Another mutant?" he asked.

The professor then turned to face him.

"Indeed, but we'll try to talk to him later. Why are you up, Deker?" Charles asked.

"I had a nightmare and couldn't get back to sleep."

"Ah, sorry to hear that. Do you want to talk about it?" Charles asked, having some idea, even without using his power, what the nightmare was about.

"Maybe some other time. I wouldn't want to bother you with my problems." He said before starting back to his room. "Good night, Professor."

"Calm down, darling, I'm sure it was just a nightmare." Said Kitty's mother.

Kitty's father looked up and saw that part of his daughter's blanket was coming through the ceiling.

"I don't think so." He says.

"What am I? What's happening to me?" Kitty sobbed.

The next morning, as the last bus dropped children off at school, Kurt, using his human disguise, ran to school. He looked at his watch and realized he was late again.

"Ah! Late again." he said, before looking around to see if anyone was around.

He didn't see anyone, so he teleported near the school. As he was about to enter, he bumped into Principal Darkholme, who took his hand and glanced at his watch.

"Ah! Mademoiselle Darkholme."

"Hmm... Your watch is right on time. But not you. One more delay... and you'll be working here after school." Menaça the headmistress.

Scott then arrived outside and grabbed Kurt.

"Hey, come on, man. Your teacher sent me to get you. Miss Darkholme." He said as he began to escort Kurt into the school. "Stopped to stuff your face again?"

"What do you want? I can't help it."

Kitty looked around as she descended the stairs. She then made her way to the front door and opened it. But before she could leave, her mother stopped her.

"Kitty?"

"Ohhh."

"We said you were staying here today."

Kitty turned and looked at her mother.

"Yeah, well, what's the point? You don't want to talk about it and I'm going to go completely crazy staying here." Kitty retorted.

"But... Do you really have to be at school?"

"Kitty! Honey, where are you?" Said her father from upstairs.

"Please, Mom. Daddy will make me stay." Kitty begged.

"Okay, go ahead." Yielded her mother after a second's hesitation.

Kitty set off for school.

As for Jean and the professor, they were currently flying aboard the Blackbird.

"Why just me? Why not all of us?" Jean asked.

"Because you're the one who can create a bond with this girl." Charles explained.

"I hope so. But then, how are we going to deal with the other child Cerebro detected? The one from the foster family."

"Yes. Lance Alvers. I'll take care of him. Concentrate on Kitty's parents. You're the model of what we offer them. Don't force them." Charles explained, which made Jean laugh nervously.

"And to think I'm missing an exam for it."

A little later, Jean and the teacher were chatting with Kitty's parents outside their house.

"What do you mean? How do you know Kitty?" asked her mother.

"May we come in? We'll answer your questions..." Jean said politely.

"Excuse me, mademoiselle. You can talk to us here." Retorted Kitty's father slightly aggressively.

"Very well, then. You know... Kitty's going through a unique phase of transition. We'd like to help her through it. Why don't you tell us what happened last night?" Said Charles with his usual calm.

"Last night is none of your business! Please, just leave us alone. Leave us alone." Said Kitty's father before he and his wife returned home and closed the door.

"Next time, we'll call and hang up. It'll be less complicated." Says Jean.

"You'll have to get in touch with Kitty directly. At her school." Charles pointed out.

Logan was cleaning his bike, until he caught a whiff of a scent he knew very well.

"Sabretooth..."

As for Sabretooth, he was on a motorcycle and as he was driving, he also smelled something he knew very well.

"Wolverine..."

Logan put on his armor and set off on his motorcycle in pursuit of Sabretooth. On the way, Logan ran into Scott, Kurt and Deker.

"What's going on with Logan?" Kurt asked.

Deker sniffed the air and caught the scent of Sabretooth. No longer caring what Scott and Kurt were talking about, he rushed to his room.

When he arrived, he opened his closet, took out his suit and put it in his bag. It was the same military uniform with armor plates he'd worn when he first arrived here, with a few modifications, the orange replaced by red and the acronym "TVA" erased.

As Deker returned to the garage, he saw that Scott and Kurt were in Scott's car. As Deker climbed onto his motorcycle, Scott began talking to him.

"Are you going to follow Logan, too? Cool, we'll help..." Scott began.

"...If I were you, I'd stay out of it." Said Deker, interrupting him. "It's personal in my case."

He then started his motorcycle in pursuit of Logan and Sabretooth.

"We're still going to follow them, aren't we?" Kurt asked.

"Of course!" Said Scott as he started driving to keep up with Deker.

Scott and Kurt stopped in the middle of the road, having lost track of Deker and Logan.

"Ah! I've lost them!" Kurt lamented, then slammed his hand on the car door.

"Hey, hey! Watch the door! It resisted stains, not dents." Scott grumbled.

"Up there!" Kurt said, pointing in one direction.

Scott looked where he was pointing and they could see Logan on the edge of a building in the parking lot, but they couldn't find Deker.

As the man in military garb stood on top of the parking lot building, the sound of a motorcycle approaching grew louder and louder, until Sabretooth jumped from a different rooftop than the one the man was standing on. Sabretooth charged straight at the man, but he jumped out of the way. Sabretooth stopped a few yards in front of him. The two stared at each other.

"Unfinished business!" Sabretooth said.

"Bring it on, old chap, bring it on." Logan retorted, bringing out his claws.

Sabretooth charged straight at Logan, using his claws to cut across the front of the motorcycle. Sabretooth then ran straight for the edge of the building. As he fell, he was able to grab the edge of one of the lower floors and pull himself to safety. As for his motorcycle, it continued to fall. The bike fell directly onto Scott and Kurt. They grabbed each other and Kurt teleported them both to safety.

They both reappeared next to Scott's now destroyed car.

"Oh, no. My car!" Scott says, observing the state of the car.

Logan stood there, waiting for something to happen. The ground beneath suddenly opened up to him as a car was pushed through. Logan fell on his back but before he could get up, another car was pushed through the floor, creating a hole where Logan was standing. Logan tried to hang on but couldn't, and fell to the lower level where Sabretooth was.

He then pushed a car against Logan, pinning him against a support column.

"One of us will die at the hands of the other..." began Sabretooth. Sabretooth began.

But before he could finish what he was saying, Sabretooth was tackled away from the car. As Sabretooth and the person who had tackled him rose from the ground, he got a good look at who he was now fighting. Logan also looked to see who it was and saw that it was Deker, now wearing his uniform.

Sabretooth sniffs the air, then smiles.

"Well, well, well, it's not the one they sent me for." Sabretooth smiles.

"And I'm going to kill you." Said Deker.

"Tell me something, Deker. Do you even know how to kill me?" Sabretooth asked.

"I'm going to cut your head off! We'll see if it works!" Deker replied, pulling out his claws before they ran towards each other.

When they met in the middle, Deker stabbed Sabretooth in the chest. The latter struck Deker in the face, but he dodged the blow. Deker then stabbed him in the knee and turned his claws into the wound, crippling Sabretooth's knee.

Deker then pulled his claws out of Sabretooth's chest and went to cut his head off, but Sabretooth grabbed Deker's wrist and slammed him hard on the nose, breaking it.

This knocked Deker onto his back, but before Sabretooth could take advantage of the opening he had, he was thrown into a van by Scott. Kurt then teleported towards Sabretooth. But he bounced off his chest. Logan arrived and tackled Sabretooth in an elevator, stabbing him, but Sabretooth kicked him away and the elevator closed.

Deker then came running and, using his claws, opened the door only to see that he was too late and that Sabretooth had fled. Logan, Scott and Kurt arrived at Deker's location on foot.

"We showed him who we were! The X-Men!" Kurt said victoriously.

Deker then kicked a car in frustration.

"Fuck!" He shouted, removing his mask and helmet before looking at Scott and Kurt. "I told you to stay out of this!"

"How about a little thank you for saving your life?" Scott retorted.

"Then you can dream on." Deker retorted.

He put his mask and helmet back on, walked over to his motorcycle, climbed on and rode away.

"What's wrong with it? I've never seen her like this." Scott asked Logan.

"If he hasn't told you why he hates Sabretooth so much, then it's not my place to tell you. And don't embarrass us next time." Logan said as he walked away.

"Ah, he us good." Says Kurt.

"Oh, yeah. Really." Replied Scott sarcastically.

Later that day, while everything on Kitty's side was as it had been in the original episode, Deker was in his room watching TV when he heard a knock on his door. Deker muted the TV, walked to the door, and opened it to see Logan on the other side.

"Hey, kid. Mind if I come in?" Logan asked.

"Yeah, you can come in." Deker said, stepping aside to let Logan in. "What's up?"

"I just wanted to check on you. How've you been? You seemed upset earlier." Logan replied.

This made Deker sigh.

"It's all the time, even if I try to hide it. I'm sick of hiding... it from other people. What those people did to me... the life they stole from me! I... I just want to kill those bastards!"

This answer made Logan sigh.

"Kid, I know how hard it is. But a 16-year-old kid like you shouldn't just be thinking about killing someone. You've got your whole life ahead of you, and if all you think about is revenge, you'll miss out on all the good things life has to offer. Can you promise me something?"

"... What?"

"Start enjoying your new life here. Make good friends, in and out, find someone to love. Don't let this hate control your life."

Deker thought for a moment before replying.

"You're right, I'll try. But they show up I'll kill them."

"I know, kid, and I'll be with you when it happens."

Logan starts to walk away, but Deker stops him.

"Logan."

"Yeah?"

"Thanks for the talk... it helps a little to get the thing out verbally."

"No worries." Logan smiles. "Have a good night."

"You too."

Logan leaves and closes the door behind him.
