Desmond goes down to the Looking Glass and after seeing Bonnie and Greta killed by Mikhail, Desmond gets a vision of him telling Mikhail "stop, Jacob sent me". Desmond awakes from the vision and sees Mikhail approaching him gun in hand. Desmond shouts "stop, Jacob sent me".

Mikhail stops and asks, "where did you hear that name".

Desmond responds, "I don't know but he sent me and wants me to turn off that jammer".

Mikhail grunted "okay".

Desmond leaves to the control panel and waits he then has a vision of him entering the code and the light turning off. He then sees Mikhail leave; he then enters the code and watches the light turn off. He sees an incoming message and as he opens the channel, he see Penny on the screen who is ecstatic to see him and exclaims "Desmond, is that you".

Desmond answers "yes Penny it me, I've been stuck on this island for three years but I'm coming home, I'm coming for you, I'll see you soon on your boat".

Penny asks, "which boat".

Desmond replies "your boat 80 miles offshore, Naomi says that you sent her".

Penny informs him "I'm not on any boat, I'm here in England and whose Naomi because I don't know a Naomi or sent one to find you".

Desmond tells her "she has a picture of us and told me you sent her".

Penny says "well I don't know how she got it but she's lying. I didn't send anyone".

Desmond says, "well someone is here and if they're lying then it can't be good, and I and the others here could be in danger".

Penny says with fear "then I'm coming for you Desmond, I will find you and I will save you. See you soon my love".

Desmond then sees Mikhail outside with a grenade and as he pulls the pin, Desmond flees the room and as the grenade detonates, Desmond rushes from the torrent of water coming in and quickly grabs diving equipment as the water reaches him and dives into the water fleeing from the Looking Glass which is quickly filling with water. Desmond reaches the beach to see Sawyer and Hurley save Jin, Bernard, and Sayid. Desmond informs them about it being not Penny's boat and they all agree to go and warn Jack. They reach them at the cockpit and after Locke brings up that the people on the boat shouldn't be trusted. Desmond tells everyone "Locke is right, they are not here to save us. I talked to Penny, and she had no idea who they were. They lied to us, Naomi lied to me and used the picture to manipulate me and whatever it is, it's not saving us".

Locke then said, "thank you Desmond, now I can assure you that the Barracks are safe because it's what the Others used and are completely abandoned".

Hurley walks over to the Locke which stuns everyone, and Hurley says "if they aren't here to save us, and we know the beach is no longer safe. I'm not risking it because we've lost to many people Libby, Charlie, Claire, even baby Aaron. Were the Others used to live is safe, so I'm going with Locke".

A few others go with him and finally Sawyer goes over, and Kate asks, "what are you doing".

Sawyer answers "same thing I've always done, Kate. Surviving".

They go off in different directions with Locke's group going to the Barracks and Jack's group going back to the beach. Jack and Kate meet Richard and Miles, before realising Locke has Charlotte, and they run into Frank Lapidus. Sayid trades Miles for Charlotte and Lapidus takes Naomi's body, Desmond, and Sayid to the boat. They reach the boat, and They go to the boat, but Desmond is affected by leaving the island and once they land, they put him in the infirmary where they contact Daniel and informs them that it was a rare side effect of leaving the island because he was exposed to high amounts of electromagnetism in the Hatch explosion. To stop it he needs to find his constant which is Penny and due to someone opening the door for them are able to go to the radio room and manage to contact her and she reconfirms that she is coming for him and is about to leave. Desmond has returned to normal, and they continue their investigation on the boat about their intentions. Daniel and Charlotte leave the camp to turn off a gas on the island so Ben can't use it on them and kill everyone on the island. Jack tries to find out what there are doing but can't until they return and confess to what they did and that their actions saved all of their lives. The captain tells them that they work for Charles Widmore, and they believe the plane they found was a fake and it was Ben who put it there. Sayid and Desmond are later taken to their room and find that out that Micheal is on the boat and is working as a spy for Ben and after hearing about him having to hide his identity and how his guilt about Libby and Ana Lucia results in him working for Ben to make up for what he did. Sayid then grabbed him and took him to the captain to tell him that he was the spy for Ben. In Locke's camp after hearing from Miles about the people on the boat's plan for Ben, Ben tells Rousseau, Alex, and Karl to go to the Temple which they agree to and leave. On the way they are attacked, and Karl and Rousseau are killed, Alex tells them that she is Ben's daughter and is taken as a hostage. On the beach the camp discover the body who Daniel and Charlotte recognise as the ship's doctor but when they contact the boat, they tell them that the doctor is fine. When they bring Alex back, she alerts Ben through the secret alert system and it's alert them while Locke, Hurley, and Sawyer are playing Risk. They hear the alarm and tell Ben who grabs a shotgun, and they make it to Ben's old house. Sawyer goes to warn people but accidently gets them killed and flees back to main house, he witness a house get blown up in the process which luckily no one lived in and made his way back. Martin then killed Alex and Ben summoned the monster to attack the mercenaries. They all flee into the jungle and Ben and Locke decide to go to the cabin and take Hurley with them while Sawyer and Miles go back to the beach. That night Locke has a dream about where to find the location of the cabin and it's in the mass grave of the Dharma initiative, Locke searches it and find the map of the location of the Cabin. At the beach Jack needs his appendix taken out and gets Bernard to perform surgery on him while he tells him what to do because he needs it, and Bernard is the only person closest enough to being able to perform one because he is a dentist. It was difficult but together they got through this and saved Jack. Martin returns to the ship and steal the captains key so he can get the secondary protocol because they are going to torch the island. The captain allows Sayid to take the zodiac to ferry people from the island and onto the boat. That night Martin and him men kill the doctor and the captain before forcing Lapidus to take them back to the island. At the beach camp they see the helicopter returning to the island and Lapidus dropped a bag which contained a phone which was tacking his. The bag crashed and completely destroyed Claire's old tent.

They realise that the people from the boat are going to the Orchid as both Miles and Sawyer return and Sawyer warns them "the people on the boat, they came for Ben. Killed a lot but Ben then summoned the monster to attack them".

Jack questioned "summoned the monster".

Sawyer replied "I don't know doc, but he did something, and the monster came and attacked them, then she said that he summoned it. So, I'm going to go with that".

Kate asked, "where's Hurley".

Sawyer answered, "well he fled into the jungle with me, him, Locke, and Ben but Locke and Ben wanted to go to a cabin someplace and forced Hurley to go with them".

Jack realised that he needed to go after the helicopter and he, Kate, and Sawyer agreed to go after the helicopter.

Locke and Ben reached the Cabin, Locke entered the cabin and saw Christian and after talking with him about why he was there, Locke heard something move and turned to see Charlie in chair in the corner holding a sleeping, Aaron. Locke asked him "Charlie".

Charlie responded cheerfully but silently "hey John".

Locke asked, "what are you doing here and with Aaron".

Charlie responded, "don't worry were fine, I'm with him".

Locke asked, "why did you bring the baby here".

Christian informed him "he is here because he is supposed to be. It's also best if you don't tell anyone that you saw either of them". Locke questioned this but Christian stopped him and informed him that to save the island, he had to move the island. Locke exited the Cabin and told Ben and Hurley that he had to move the island and all three went to do so.

Jack, Kate, and Sawyer left the next morning and Sayid returned and went after them as Daniel began ferrying people back to the boat starting with Jin and Sun. Jack, Kate, and Sawyer reached the helicopter and freed Lapidus before going after Hurley at the Orchid. The Zodiac reach the boat and Jin and Sun were shocked to see Micheal, then Desmond realised that the boat was filled with explosives and Desmond, Jin, and Micheal tried to stop it. Ben, Locke, and Hurley reached the Orchid and Ben gave himself up, Sayid was found by the Others and together they stopped the mercenaries who had Ben. Jack, Sawyer, and Kate reached the Orchid and talked to Locke before Ben returned and told them to get off the island. Jack, Hurley, Kate, and Sawyer returned to the helicopter and flew towards the boat. inside the Orchid, Ben revealed that it experimented with time travel, Ben then blew a hole in the wall as Martin who survived the earlier attack, came for Ben but was stabbed by Ben for killing his daughter. The helicopter is not going to make it to the boat, with the weight they are carrying so Sawyer jumps off and swims back to the island which allows the helicopter to make it to the boat. The bomb is about to explode, and Desmond goes to warn anyone that returns and warns the helicopter once it lands, they make the repairs and Jack, Lapidus, Desmond, Sayid, Kate, Hurley, and Sun board the helicopter and begin to fly away, they watch Jin running to the helicopter trying to get aboard but they are already flying away. The boat then explodes, and they try to get back to the island but at that same moment Ben who told Locke to leave and lead the Others, moved the island. The island flashed and the island disappeared taking everyone except those on the helicopter away with it. The helicopter then runs out of fuel and crashes into the sea, they all rise to the surface and get in the helicopters life raft. All seven float until they see a boat belonging to Penny. Desmond was thankful that his visions were leading him to Penny and all seven of them created the lie to protect those who remained on the island.
