When they returned to the world, they were called the Oceanic Five and they told the world that the plane crashed and out of everyone that made it out of the plane only nine survived to make it to the island. Those five as well as Boone, Libby, Charlie, and Claire who was eight months pregnant. Charlie was the one to really help Claire with her pregnancy and they began a relationship together, but Claire died shortly after childbirth only getting to hold her son and name him Aaron before she died, and Aaron died shortly afterwards. Boone, Libby, also died on the island. Charlie died trying to help after he couldn't save Claire or Aaron. Jack later met Carole Littleton at his father's funeral, and she told him about Claire being his sister, and Carole asked, "how was my daughter during the time on the island and how was she being pregnant".
Jack answered "nervous about being a mother but I saw how she looked at him as soon as she gave birth to Aaron. She loved him and it's unfortunate that they had to go so soon".
Carole said, "I wish I could have been there for her when she really needed me, and I really wished I could have met my grandson".
On the island Locke moves the wheel again to leave the island and bring everyone back, which sends Daniel, Miles, Jin, and Sawyer to 1970's and Locke off the island. Kate after talking with her mother gets ten-year probation and not allowed to leave California. Jack then starts dating Kate and eventually get engaged. Locke returns and tries to convince them to go back but fails. Ben then kills Locke and Ben knows that since Jack has already tried to go back, he can get him and once he has him, the rest will come. Jack convinces Kate to go and Sun and Sayid meet Ben at the docks. Sayid wants no part in this if Ben's involved and leaves. The rest go to Eloise's church and find out how to get back to the island. They find out that they have to board Agira 316 and all managed to get on the flight with Frank Lapidus flying and go back to the island with Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid going to 1977. They spent time in the Dharma Initiative until Daniel returned and tried to get them to save Oceanic 815 by setting of a nuclear device, they succeed in blowing it up as Jack drops it, but it doesn't do what they think it will do but does send them to back to 2007. They take an injured Sayid to the Temple and get him help before Jin tries to find his wife and when he runs away from the Others with him, he steps on a trap and his leg is caught. The Others are immediately shot by someone above and Jin turns to see that it was Charlie who fired those shot, and besides him was a small boy who looked to be around 3 years old. Jin realised that this must have been Aaron and said in shock "Charlie". Charlie looked at Jin in bewilderment at seeing him, as Jin realised that Charlie must have been as shocked to see him as he was to see him. Charlie then checked the bodies and jammed a knife into an Other confirming his death, the other, Other saw this and tried to flee but Charlie quickly pulled the knife out and threw it into the back of the fleeing Other.
Charlie exclaimed "not alive anymore". He then said "it's safe Aaron"
Aaron replied, "daddy kill the bad men".
Charlie replied "yeah, it's over now".
Charlie then walked over to Jin who couldn't believe his eyes, he was looking at Charlie Pace. The man who went missing three years ago and so too did Aaron, but he was only a month old then. Charlie immediately used a metal pole to the trap and said, "don't worry Jin, you'll be out of there in a second".
He broke the trap and Jin asked, "how long have you been out here".
Charlie responded, "it's hard to tell time round here but ever since everybody bloody left and Aaron turned three not long ago, so three years". Charlie then looked at Jin's leg and said, "I get you back to where it's safe because the longer we stay, the more chance we'll be found". Charlie helped Jin but he soon passed out and Charlie exclaimed "brilliant". Charlie then carried Jin over his shoulder to his camp and laid him down on the bed.
Jacob told Hurley to take Jack to the lighthouse and Jack agreed to go with him. Jin awoke and saw Aaron playing with a few toys in the corner as he saw Charlie preparing medical equipment. Charlie saw Jin awake and told him "don't worry about the leg, I'll get you fixed up as soon as this is ready because that is what will get you on the island, infection".
Jin asked, "have you and Aaron been here all this time, alone".
Charlie responded, "not with our friend checking up on us". Charlie then looked at Jin's wound and said "you're lucky I found you mate, because stitching up yourself is not fun. Especially after you've just been shot in the shoulder by the Others after they tried to take Aaron".
Jin asked, "so you've been here, this entire time".
Charlie replied "nope, got move around a lot because the Others are relentless, and we've got to survive. Which becomes very difficult when it's just you and a three-year-old".
Jack and Hurley made it to the light house and Jack smashed it to pieces once he saw his old house in the reflection, with it directing to his name. They left and Jacob spoke to Hurley as Jack looked out at the ocean. Back at Charlie's camp Locke entered and asked, "I'm not interrupting anything".
Jin in shocked exclaimed "John".
Charlie corrected him "oh that not John, this is my friend".
The monster tells Charlie "Charlie got a mission for you; Jin can look after Aaron until we return".
Charlie said, "alright you're the boss". Charlie then walk over to Aaron and said, "be good for uncle Jin because daddy needs to go and do what".
Aaron answered, "get mummy back".
Charlie replied, "that it, now I'll be back shortly Turniphead and protect this because it's very important". Charlie put a necklace over Aaron with a ring at the end, which Jin recognised as Charlie's ring that said DS.
Arron replied, "yes daddy".
Jin was bemused that he didn't respond but wondered what Aaron had meant by getting mummy back because his mother was Claire, and she died over three years ago. Charlie and the monster left and made it to the Temple. The monster said, "you ready".
Charlie replied, "now why did this have to be me because Sawyer and Jin could easily do this or what about yourself".
The monster answered, "if I could do it myself, I wouldn't be asking you Charlie".
Charlie responded "if I go in there, I need to know that you'll do what you say. I need Claire back but more importantly Aaron needs her; he needs his mother back".
The monster answered, "I always do what I say".
Charlie entered the Temple and said to the Temple's guardian "he wants to see you". The guardian replied in Japanese and Charlie interrupted "speak English cunt because I know your doing this on purpose and it's fucking annoying".
The guardian asked, "who wants to see me".
Charlie replied, "you know who".
The guardian said, "if he wants to see me, then tell him to come in".
Charlie rejected him "no, he wants you to go to him, he is waiting for you outside beyond the outer wall".
The guardian interrupted "I'm not a fool, if I step outside this Temple, he'll kill me".
Charlie replied, "well then you should probably send someone he won't kill".
Charlie tried to leave but the guardian yelled "stop him". They dragged Charlie to the hole.
The guardian sends Sayid after the monster with a dagger that can kill him and when Sayid runs into Kate, who returned after Sawyer disappeared when they went out together away from the Temple and she couldn't find him. Kate asked, "are you leaving".
Sayid responds, "I'm not exactly sure".
Kate asked, "what did I miss".
Sayid responded, "talk to Miles because he'll tell you about the man who just showed up, and I think you want to see him".
Kate went to Miles and after talking about Sawyer Kast asked, "what's going on here because Sayid said a man turned up, someone I would want to see".
Miles answered, "well I don't know why Sayid would think that, but some English guy showed up and scared the crap out of these guys".
Kate asked, "English guy".
Mile responded, "yeah they took him inside and threw him into a hole".
Kate said "thanks", and bemused why Sayid would think she would want to see him. Kate entered the Temple and made her way to the hole where she heard a familiar voice and rushed to the hole where she saw Charlie resting in the pit singing "you all everybody". Kate exclaimed "Charlie".
Charlie looked up and saw her, he smiled and said "hey Kate, welcome to the party. You here to join me in this pit because it's real nice".
Kate asked, "Charlie how are you alive, you disappeared three years ago and where's Aaron".
Charlie answered "don't worry Aaron is fine. He is safe back at my camp with Jin".
Kate asked, "but where have you've been this whole time".
Charlie answered "on the island. It been quite lonely since you all left but that no longer matters as you're here now".
Kate lowered her hand and said, "grab my hand, I'll pull you up and we can get off this island together, all of us".
Charlie answered "sorry, not going to happen".
Kate in shocked "what".
Charlie informed her "I'm not going up there because it isn't safe, when my friend comes to the Temple, he is going to kill everyone and this hole in the ground is the only safe place from him, so I suggest you come down here with me". Before Kate could talk to him anymore, she was dragged out by Others.
Sayid went to the monster and after listening to him, stabbed him but nothing happened. The monster then told Sayid to return to the Temple and deliver a message, Sayid returned and delivered the message that if they stayed in Temple by sundown then he would kill them but if they left and joined him, he would spare them. The Temple began to freak out and many fled, Sayid waited until sundown where he went to the guardian and used the dagger on him, killing him. As soon as the guardian died the monster entered the Temple and began to attack everyone. Kate seeing the situation and remembering what Charlie had said, she fled towards him and as soon as Charlie saw her, he shouted "get down here or you're going to die". Kate then saw the monster behind her and dove into the hole. After the attack ended Charlie said, "it's safe now, we better go meet our saviour". Kate became very confused about what he meant but thought it would be best to follow him, they made it out of the Temple and Charlie, Kate, and Sayid all followed Locke.
