The other group of survivors from the Temple of Sun, Illana, Lapidus, and Miles found Ben and after Miles informed Illana that Ben killed Jacob. Ben denied this as they all made their way back to the beach camp. Illana then tied Ben to a tree and forced him to dig his own grave, while the rest watched. Hurley and Jack made their way to the beach camp after hearing of the attack on the Temple and ran into Richard along the way, he tried to kill himself with dynamite at the Black Rock, but Jack thought that it wouldn't work because Jacob needed them. It didn't and they all made their way back to the camp. The monster suggested Ben to flee and kill Illana, he fled and mad it to the gun the monster left behind but didn't shoot her but confessed to Jacobs murder and his involvement in the death of his daughter. Illana accepted this and they returned to camp where they were soon met by Jack, Hurley, and Richard. Sawyer at Charlie's camp saw both Jin and Aaron asleep. He was very shocked to see Aaron since the last time he saw the kid, he was bald and couldn't do a single thing for himself. Sawyer awoke Jin who asked quietly "how long have I been out".
Sawyer said, "a while since I thought you could use some rest and lucky for us, that kid seems to be a good sleeper".
Jin asked, "are Locke and Charlie back".
Sawyer answered, "not yet but they said that they should be back by sunup".
Jin said, "I don't know what that thing is but it's not Locke".
Sawyer said, "yeah I know but I'm with him because what ever he is, he can get us off this damn island".
Jin insisted "I can't leave, Sun could be here somewhere".
Sawyer relented "fine, if she's here you got my word, we aint leaving without her".
They heard the monster and his group returning and went out to meet them Charlie asked, "Aaron still asleep".
Sawyer responded "yeah".
Charlie responded, "not surprised, the kid could sleep through a nuclear blast". Charlie went to awake Aaron and Kate was shocked at seeing Aaron who was just a baby the last time she saw him.
Kate introduced herself to Aaron "hello Aaron, I'm Kate. I knew you dad and mom".
Aaron shyly said "hi, Kate".
Kate asked nicely "has your daddy been treating you well".
Aaron said, "yeah daddy loves me".
Kate replied, "that's nice".
They then all listened to the monsters speech and followed him into the jungle until the monster send Sawyer to Hydra island to investigate the plane. Sawyer found a woman named Zoe who he thought was on the plane and was the sole survivor left on Hydra island but turned out to be with Charles Widmore. Zoe brought him to Charles and Sawyer suggested a plan to get off the island.
Kate asked Charlie while Aaron was asleep "why did you join Locke".
Charlie answered, "because he saved me and because if I follow him, he will bring Claire back, then we can all get off this island together".
Kate said, "Charlie she dead, she can't come back".
Charlie replied, "he promised me he could, and I believe him because he saved me".
Kate asked, "how did he save you".
Charlie informed her "before you left, Desmond used to have visions and each one of them had me dying. He saved me but couldn't stop me dying. I was always going to die, the universe wanted me dead, but Locke saved me. I remember feeding Aaron the night of Claire's death and then I blank out, no memories until I awake in a Cabin and Locke is there, but he looks different and is using the form of both Jack and Claire's dad. He tells me that he saved me and that if I helped him, he would bring Claire back and we could be together again. Aaron could have his mother again and we could all get off. I leave and try to find you all, but I can't, and the beach camp is deserted. I then see my friend again who tells me that you all left. Then I was taken by the Others who grabbed me and Aaron. I fought my way out and grabbed Aaron. We've been here ever since, running and fighting away from the Others".
Kate listened and said, "okay Charlie, it's really good to see you and him again because we all feared the worst when you left and we couldn't find you or Aaron but you're here, Aaron is fine, and we can get off the island together".
Charlie said, "I missed you guys, and I cant wait to get off this island because he needs his mother again and to be raised off this island".
Kate saw the desperation and honesty in his voice and said, "we will". Kate met with Sawyer that night and he told her about his plan to let Locke and Widmore fight it out while they stole the submarine and sailed away from this island. The monster leaves to try and get Sun and they are attacked by Widmore's people, who knocks them all out and takes Jin. The monster fails to get Sun, and the monster returns to see his entire camp asleep. The monster then realizes that Jin has been taken and leaves to get him back. The monster goes and talks to Widmore before leaving and returning to camp but leaves Sayid to investigate what Widmore is hiding. Sayid sees that what Widmore is hiding is Desmond. Widmore experiments on Desmond and after he does Desmond agrees to help before Sayid kills everyone near Desmond and gets him to follow him. Illana tries to blow the plane up but gets blown up herself and Hurley after listening to dead Micheal blows up the Black Rock and leads the everyone but Ben, Richard, and Miles to the monster.
