Chapter 365 The Call Of The Evil God

This malevolent spirit was like a blend of all the monsters Evan had seen in the murals of the Temple before. It bore features of all those monsters in its enormous round body.

It was not so much a god; it was purely a monster.

Those fallen centaurs were simply mad to believe in such a creature!

Flesh and blood converged towards it, yet they could not fill it. The figure of the malevolent spirit expanded outward, becoming almost as large as the enormous vortex of clouds above the Temple of the Moon.

Its body, which had been covered in flesh and blood, displayed a series of cracks and open wounds. These cracks seemed countless, endless, opening and closing...

Soon, all over its circular body of dark green, flooded with shadows, it was covered by dark clouds, merging into one.

On the platform, the fallen centaurs were prostrated on the ground, murmuring incomprehensible words under their breath, not even daring to lift their heads. Only Evan and Okegiga remained standing there.

Okegiga took a step forward and halted abruptly.

Suddenly, the sky began to rain, and the raindrops grew larger and larger.

These raindrops were all of a dark red, like dried blood.

The rain fell upon the Temple built of obsidian. The eternal rocks were filled with bloody bubbles and faded, losing their ancient gleam.

A green film began to appear on the ground, like green moss that kept growing more and more. Strange plants started to emerge, rapidly growing in the rain.

The twisted tentacles of the evil god were like tree roots. They rooted into the enormous stone statue and the Temple of the Moon. Cracks began to appear in the hard stones.

"What should we do now?" murmured Okegiga.

The powerful Centaur Warrior seemed to be in despair, as this malevolent creature appeared invincible.

Evan did not reply. He was focused on finding the source of magic. With the appearance of the malevolent spirit, the magic in the Philosopher's Stone left by Gryffindor was dissipating more rapidly.

Now, the whole platform of the Temple was filled with restless magic.

With this magic at the creature's disposal, no matter how many fallen centaurs there were to fight, they could never stop it!

The remaining path was to find the wooden statue spoken of by Okegiga.

This was the root of it all. Destroying it would bring an end to the advent of this evil god, or sealing it again through the magic used by ancient sorcerers!

Facing it directly was not an option.

If they could, the ancient sorcerers would not only have sealed it, but would have destroyed it once and for all.

Evan did not know where the fallen centaurs had hidden the wooden statue. He followed the path of magic, trying to locate it, but it was like trying to find a wave in a vast and enraged ocean!

Perhaps, all their efforts in the face of the malevolent spirit's arrival were in vain!

But Evan did not give up. There must be a way!

He did not know how Okegiga had resealed the evil god in the real story. Though courageous, the problem he faced must be beyond his capabilities.

Of course, this was not the real world after all. It could also be something invented by Gryffindor to increase the challenge's difficulty.

Regardless, everything in this illusion was all too real. It was as if Evan had truly traveled back to the centaur civil war eight hundred years ago.

In the sky, the huge spherical body of the malevolent spirit slowly projected forward, its slow red eyes fixed on Evan and Okegiga.

A strange voice resonated somewhere, echoing in the colony of the Centaurs.

"Human wizard, you continue to resist the great existence that is destined to remain unknown," he said slowly, "Absurd! Of all the men I have witnessed, the oldest and most powerful emotion they possess is fear, and the oldest and strongest of fears is the fear of the unknown."

Evan ignored him and tried to focus.

He had studied it carefully before, and like the companion he met in the depths of the earth, the words that the other party constantly repeated and whispered were actually magic that acted on the soul, which could give birth to the most negative emotions in the heart.

In this sense, he was already prepared.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM," he shouted and waved his wand to summon his Patronus.

Past experiences reminded him that the Patronus Charm, which emitted positive energy and could resist all negative emotions, was not only effective against Dementors, but also against these malevolent gods and creations of the void.

It seemed he would have to study this magic again after completing the challenge.

He focused his attention, thinking about what would make him happiest and about Hermione and the custody of Hogwarts.

The cat, made of silver light, spun around him and Okegiga, finally settling on his shoulder.

A shield of milky white energy appeared out of nowhere, blocking the infiltration of evil forces.

"Weak human magician, like your ancestors, you are putting up a futile resistance. Not destroying you immediately was the greatest kindness you could find."

The immense body of the malevolent spirit continued to advance, looking coldly at Evan.

"My companions and I come from the darkest corners of the world. Human wizards who have seen it before went insane!" he continued, "That is the present of our world, and it is also the future of yours. Beneath the vast ocean, there are endless secrets..."

Evan increased the output of magic, and the voice became intermittent.

With the infiltration of the malevolent spirit, the energy shield in front of him cracked, which could break at any moment, and the Patronus on his shoulder seemed to slowly fall asleep.

Evan clenched his fists and was completely sweating.

Since acquiring the powerful magic of Slytherin's Locket, he had never felt such a need for more magical power!

"Do you want to discover the essence of fear?" the voice of the malevolent god sounded again. "You appear fearless, but in the face of true fear, you would either go mad and become my follower like these Centaurs; or like your ancestors, you would flee from the light and seek refuge in a new dark age for peace and security."

"I found it, there it is!" Evan finally found the source of all the gathered magic.

He shouted to the Centaur beneath him, but Okegiga did not move.

The Centaur stood there silently, as if petrified, or just an image!

"Curse!" Evan waved his wand and jumped off the Centaur.

He didn't know what tricks Gryffindor was playing again. Did he focus on encouraging this malevolent god and forget to control these Centaurs?

The battle had reached its final stage. Any questions had to be left for later!
