Jason Coote was due to become a first time father to a son in a fortnight.
As his son's arrival had drawn nearer, Jason had given some thought to what he would name his son but had not yet settled on a name.
There were several good options at his disposal, and each of these options had their own merits, but the bottom line was that the time had come for Jason to choose his son's name.
Jason went outside and settled himself into his outdoor hammock.
Lying in this hammock had always been a good brain stimulator for Jason.
The question that Jason asked himself is, "What would I be most proud of my son growing up to be?"
Jason soaked up the sun, which had been the thing that actually stimulated his brain, hence the value of the outdoor hammock.
"I have the utmost respect for great leaders who have a knack for pulling people along with them in a very effective way," thought Jason to himself.
Jason sat in his hammock letting his respect for great leaders fill up his mind and his heart and he came to his decision.
"Richie," decided Jason, "I shall name my son Richie Coote. Richie means powerful leader. There is nothing I would be prouder of as a father than if my son grew up to be a powerful and effective leader of some kind."
There were various types of leaders and various types of situations that required a leader.
For Jason, it was the quality of leadership that mattered.
Nothing would mean more to Jason Coote than to see his son become an effective leader of some sort, whatever that might entail for him.
There were various qualities in people that Jason respected, and that fact contributed to his list of potential names for his son having been quite substantial.
And there was no question in Jason's mind that any of these names would have been good baby names.
But, at some point, every father reached the point where he had to choose his son's or daughter's name and that meant choosing between good options.
Relaxing in his hammock and soaking up the sun had shown Jason the light.
The hammock and the sun had brought how much Jason valued great leadership to the forefront of his heart and mind and this allowed him to reach his final decision. His son would be known as Richie Coote.
With the name chosen, Jason just had a fortnight left to wait until Richie Coote came into the world.
"Richie Coote," thought Jason, "I can't wait to welcome you into the world and become a father. It is my sincerest hope that you will exemplify the leadership qualities that led me to choose Richie as your name."
Richie relaxed in his hammock soaking up the sun for a few more minutes and a few more nanoseconds and as he lay there he felt at ease and content.
Choosing Richie as his son's name had been the right decision for him.
