Chapter 225 Lollipops With A Taste Of Blood
Evan sensed that the girl in front of him was a vampire and nervously gazed at her.
Deep down, it didn't seem so bad to be bitten on the neck by such a beautiful and charming girl.
But when he considered that her bite was not simple, Evan's body trembled just at the thought of it. In Lockhart's book, "Journeys with Vampires," the process of feeding by vampires was meticulously described.
After selecting their prey, a vampire typically uses magic to immobilize them.
They use their sharp fangs to pierce the softer skin of their prey's neck, puncturing the vein, and the blood will flow. Without wasting a drop, the vampire will suck all their blood in a minute.
Evan was weeping without tears. Perhaps this was the end of his life.
A vampire feeds on surprisingly large amounts of blood. Despite their small size, it wouldn't take them long to suck all his blood.
When Hermione returned, she might only find a mummy.
Evan once again lamented his misfortune. Encountering a vampire in Diagon Alley at Christmas and nearly becoming his meal! Was this retribution for kissing Hermione?
Evan tried to communicate. No matter what he said, the girl did not respond.
She leaned in and began searching around Evan's body as if looking for something.
However, her gaze involuntarily turned to Evan's neck, and then there was the clear action and sound of sucking, which sounded chilling.
The movement of the girl's throat looked very tender, but its meaning was eerie.
She seemed patient, resisting the temptation to bite Evan. However, she seemed almost unable to bear it, giving the impression that she might bite him at any moment.
After another failed attempt at communication, Evan decided to cut to the chase and shouted, "I know you're a vampire. You don't want to bite me, right? You don't want to suck my blood, right? I would advise against it. This is Diagon Alley, my friends..."
The girl stopped, and her burgundy eyes stared silently at Evan.
For a long while, she didn't speak, and when Evan thought he had once again failed at communication, he heard the distinct clear and hoarse voice of the girl.
"Besides dragon's blood, I usually do not take the blood of inferior creatures."
When Evan heard what the girl said, he was completely stunned. He blinked without saying anything for a long time to confirm what she had just said. Did she really mention dragon's blood?
Evan was unsure about this girl. Was she joking with him?
She didn't seem to have that sense of humor.
After Dumbledore's account of the twelve uses of dragon's blood, the greatest discovery acknowledged by modern alchemy, Evan finally discovered the thirteenth.
"Are you not pulling my leg?" he tried to speak in a relaxed tone.
Actually, this joke would be quite funny if it weren't for the fact that at that moment he was bound by a red chain and there was a vampire watching him.
"No!" The girl looked at Evan seriously. After a pause, she replied softly. "Seeing you, it seems like I want to bite you, but I don't know how it would taste."
"Definitely not appetizing!" Evan hurriedly said.
The girl's remark was quite cutting, especially as soon as she finished, she began to look at his neck and swallow saliva, looking extremely impatient.
It was too dangerous, and Evan decided not to continue discussing the matter.
Anyway, the vampire girl didn't seem about to suck his blood at that moment, so why did she say he smelled like food and was rummaging through him for something?
At that precise moment, Evan suddenly thought of something.
In addition to the Black family collection that had just been taken out at 12 Grimmauld Square and Slytherin's locket, he carried some sweets with him.
It was the candies he and Hermione had bought in Hogsmeade, as they were small, they simply kept them in their pockets and took one when they desired to eat them.
The ordinary candies were nothing special, of course, but there were some pieces from the owner of Honeydukes sweet shop, Mr. Flume, who asked Evan to help promote his new product...
Blood-flavored lollipops!
The Honeydukes sweet establishment conducted several surveys in the Hogwarts Magic newspaper about the flavor of their upcoming product. The most popular flavor turned out to be blood. Many wizards thought it would be great, but the product actually had low sales once it was manufactured.
Because the flavor was exactly like real blood, almost no one bought the candies and the finished products piled up in the basement of the Honeydukes sweet shop.
Evan recalled that at that moment he sighed thinking that those candies were specially designed for vampires. He never expected that a simple word would be so true in reality.
Thanks to the blood-flavored lollipops, a vampire truly appeared before him.
"Stop searching, I know what you're looking for!" Seeing the cold, small hand of the girl rummaging through him for a long time, he couldn't help but say, "That thing is called a bloody lollipop, it should cater to your vampire's taste. In addition to being sweet, it's similar to the taste of blood. Let go, I can find it for you."
"I don't believe you!" The girl hesitated, shook her head, and refused; she said cautiously, "My uncle warned me not to trust wizards and the Ministry of Magic. You are not trustworthy. You will only seek to kill us with all sorts of intrigues."
These dark creatures were even more extreme in their thoughts than werewolves. No wonder Voldemort first thought of vampires when he wanted to find allies.
Their minds are dark enough and their overall strength powerful enough to be some of the strongest allies.
Evan didn't know where the girl was from, but it was not surprising that vampires thought in such a cynical way.
For centuries, there has been an antagonistic relationship between wizards and vampires.
If anyone else knew this girl was a vampire, it wouldn't be long before all the Ministry of Magic's auras were deployed, filling the entire Diagon Alley.
They would arrest her and send her to the Wizengamot to be judged.
Even if it turned out she didn't drink human blood, the girl would be locked up for life in Azkaban due to her taboo status as a vampire.
Only death awaited her there. Dementors do not typically provide fresh blood to their prisoners.
There was a brief silence; Evan didn't know what to say.
Since she didn't trust him, he had to verbally disclose where the candies were instead of letting her search through his belongings.
In a few seconds, the girl found the few bloodied lollipops.
She tried a piece and by the expression on her face, she seemed to enjoy the flavor.
"Well, your goal has been achieved, could you release me?" Evan tried to say, "I mean no harm, I don't want to hurt you, and I don't want to discuss this with anyone else. You can rest assured..."
The girl looked at Evan again and seemed to be contemplating.
Thanks to the bloodied lollipop, her mental state appeared much better than before.
Under the faint candlelight, the girl's burgundy eyes shone with a strange gleam.
