20 Goblin Reports Report by Vault Manager Ironstream to Gringotts Chief RagnockHonoured Chief Boulder:
There are major developments in the status of the Potter and Black Vaults that are of concern. Someone in the Ministry for Magic attempted to eliminate Lord Potter-Black by dispatching Dementors into a muggle area. The two demons did kiss three individuals (one witch, one wizard, and one almost-muggle woman). None of the muggles in the area were kissed and Aurors from the MoM removed the bodies and used the wizard Patronus charm to remove the lingering feelings of cold and despair from the atmosphere.
We paid gold for additional information from among the accountants in the MoM but the DMLE has not been able to make an arrest – the evidence has disappeared. Director Bones cannot prosecute based on suspicion. The primary suspect is Undersecretary Dolores Umbridge who has been suspended by Minister Cornelius Fudge and reassigned to be his spy and agitator at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the new term that begins on 1 September.
NOTE: The status of the agreement between Lord Potter-Black and Minister Fudge is unknown. Sowsbreath has prepared the Golden Tooth Exchange in the event the Fudge Administration falls and there is a financial panic.
In a related development that same night, Lord Potter-Black disappeared from the home of his Aunt Petunia Dursley. A paid source in the DMLE reported to an informant for the Daily Prophet (and Gringotts) that the minor bureaucrat Arthur Weasley was authorised to remove Potter-Black from the residence and take him to a 'safe house.' Dumbledore gave the authorisation and Director Amelia Bones (DMLE) approved the removal despite protests by the muggle uncle.
Dobby Potter Elf reported that he could not find his wizard for almost four hours before being summoned to speak with Lord Potter-Black. The young wizard was taken to the missing Black family property XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX that is located in London.
NOTE: Secret Magic Users should consider use of this human charm (Fidelius) to make some matters so secret no one knows them.
Present in the 'safe house' are fugitive Sirius Black, the guards who have pestered Lord Potter-Black's muggle neighbourhood this summer, many of the Weasley family (parents and four children) and the other elf, Kreacher.
NOTE: Dobby asked me to include that Lord Potter-Black has tweaked the wards at XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX to follow his commands and to offer protection to his person and that of his godfather.
Lord Potter-Black will be at XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX until 1 September but we can call for Dobby or Kreacher to maintain written communications if not physical meetings.
In other Potter-Black matters, the reaction by Lucius Malfoy to the letter demanding the return of items from the dowry of his wife has been interesting to me. I acted as an observer from a hidden screen in the office of Sowsbreath Black Family Vault Manager when Lucius Malfoy arrived in good robes with many threats and demands that were loud but not enforceable against the Betrothal Contract.
The farm was returned to the Black portfolio before the end of that first meeting, but the Malfoy vaults remained short of the necessary galleons to return the monetary portion of the penalty and worse, the golden flatwear and chargers have been used as collateral for a recent loan for Malfoy to donate ʛ50,000 to some worthy cause. Stonegrinder Vault Manager for the Malfoy family vault joined the meeting and provided documents of various business and agricultural titles that would meet the mortgage debt (transferred to Black Family Vault as the source for the mortgage funds).
The wizard was outraged that Gringotts would essentially take more of his wealth AND the gold artefacts. The deadline of Samhain (31 October Human) was set as the date of the transfer of wealth and return of the golden artefacts.
In the matter of the Lestrange Vaults, Swordblade objected most vigorously to the seizure of financial assets of Madam Lestrange and the return of the value of the Black family dowry from the other Lestrange Family Vaults. After the penalty was paid, there no longer are any Lestrange Family Vaults and Swordblade was demoted to being a Teller on rotation in the bank.
Additionally, inside the vault rented by Madam Lestrange we located yet another soul cursed object. This cup had once been enchanted with healing properties but Copperknife Secret Magic User reports that like the locket provide by Kreacher Black Elf, the original magic has been corrupted by the soul curse. (See Below).

With continuous study since 21 July 1995 (29 Grip 6481), the Secret Magic Users have examined and uncovered many secrets regarding the soul jar(s) of the Tom Marvolo Riddle (aka Lord Voldemort, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, Lord Voldieshorts).
The wizard was insane by goblin standards when he made the first soul jar (aka Horcrux) in 1943 (6429) while still a student at Hogwarts. When he killed someone to make that first horcrux, he also killed himself. Each time he split his soul to make another one, he died again. He has not been alive in 52 years – he was a ghost inhabiting a decaying corpse until 1981 (6467) when he was force from the corpse.
Gringotts possesses three pieces of the soul of this dead wizard, and we agreed to use them to determine the total number and location of other soul jars made by the Phvyhgs-Sturrdel-gryhiglzehwe. (Forgive the use of the expletive but we are so offended by what we found that it is the appropriate label for that wizard as well as another seventy-four (74) British wizards and witches!
With use of goblin spells and relics, the Secret Magic Users determined that there are a total of eighty-one (81) Soul Jars in Magical Britain. The total number in the Eastern Hemisphere is 491 with majority being in the burial sites of Ancient Egypt (375) and hidden tombs of Roman Emperors in Italy and Asia Minor (36). There is evidence that several of the wizards or witches (7) who created these soul jars are still present on the planet, but we do not know what form they have taken. They may be ghosts or other spirits roaming the planet, or inhabiting human or animal forms.
From what our reports document, Tom Riddle is the only wizard who attempted to make more than one horcrux and his madness spiralled out of control with each death. He has a total of seven (7) soul jars currently. (Our speculation is that the pull on his magic is so great that the golem used today will collapse within twelve months).
Riddle's Soul Jars – by current location
Diary – Half of Riddle's soul is trapped within the Chamber of Secrets with the rotting corpse of a giant basilisk. The presence of toxic fumes from carcass makes retrieval of the soul by human or goblin impossible. The fumes would kill the human through breath or physical contact with skin (10 seconds). The fumes would dissolve the magic that holds the shape of a goblin together (90 seconds). Physical book is stored in drawer of desk in Headmaster Albus-Too-Many-Names Dumbledore at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Cup (Hufflepuff's Cup). Cavern of Secret Magic Users

Diadem (Ravenclaw's Diadem). Hidden in magical space at Hogwarts.
Ring (Gaunt Family Ring plus additional magic). Cavern of Secret Magic Users. This item was retrieved by Secret Magic Users as a test of our abilities to overcome Riddle's magic. Four boulders were damaged in our recovery of this artifact because of the wards and protections on and around the artefact. Each boulder will make a full recovery with applications of sand, dirt and the human invention cement.
Maledictus (curse enacted). The 'snake' that is believed to be the Dark Lord's familiar is a Maledictus with the curse in the final phase. We have no documentation if the Dark Lord knows the origins of the creature, but he made her/it into a soul jar in the summer of 1994 shortly before journeying from Magical Albania to the Magical Britain. A complaint should be filed by Gringotts London, Gringotts Paris, and Gringotts Rome (and copied to all banks operated by the dwarves in Switzerland, etc.) with the ICW for the lax immigration and travel controls for exotic and banned lifeforms and creatures. The creatures – aided by unknown individuals – travelled more that 2,500 km and crossed multiple magical and muggle borders undetected.
Ritual of Renewal and Birth
On the spring equinox 20 March 1996, Gringotts Secret Magic Users will perform a ritual of renewal and birth for magic that pulls the magic and power from the soul jars in our possession. We believe that through sympathetic magical association of, the ritual will also consume the magic and soul pieces of the other soul jars of Tom Marvolo Riddle. (87% chance of success). Additionally, we believe there is a chance that the same principle of sympathetic magic may pull on the horcruxes located in Italy (36% chance) and in a cascade of power pull on horcruxes located in Asia Minor (27%) and Egypt (09.5%).
NOTE: the Secret Magic Users minority report warns of a danger of explosions by the soul jars with a ritual powered by such dark magic. They urge further study with staggered rituals beginning at Samhain (31 October 1995) and the Winter Solstice (22 December 1995).
NOTE: We have reached out to Secret Magic Users in the Western Hemisphere with our findings and expect to hear a report from them before Samhain.
URGENT NOTE: A report marked as DANGER! Highest Importance was received from Gringotts Retreat (Provost Utah, MACUSA). The Secret Magic User goblins report that over 70,000 soul jars are present in the areas of southern Mexico and Central America. Our plans for the ritual at the Spring Equinox are cancelled until further study by Secret Magic Users from all Gringotts are complete.
NOTE: Once the current situation with the huge number of soul jars in existence is settled, Secret Magic Users intend to put the knowledge for creation of Soul Jars by living wizards and witches under the Fidelius Charm. Because goblins live such long lives, all memories and knowledge of these abominations will be removed from their books, minds, and legends.

Lord Potter-Black is prepared to return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry tomorrow. He is in residence in a muggle hotel in London today and apparently with three house elves. His godfather is hidden away on some tropical island to keep the escaped prisoner safe from the machinations of Albus Too-Many-Names Dumbledore and the Ministry for Magic.
Following the duel between Molly Weasley vs Nymphadora Tonks on 10 August 1995, the Order of the Fried Chickens was banished from the Black property by Sirius Black. Shortly thereafter, Dumbledore threatened to reveal the location of Sirius Black to the MoM unless Lord Potter-Black agreed to return to public support of the return of the Dark Lord alongside Dumbledore and the Order of Fried Chickens.
That same day, Lord Potter-Black took his godfather away from Britian to a hidden magical island.
NOTE: Lord Potter-Black contracted with several healers (physical and mental) from MACUSA to reside on the island for a period of twelve (12) months to provide the godfather with the best medical care possible to heal the wizard's body and mind as much as possible.

For the last three days of August, Harry rested in a London hotel, let Dobby, Winky, and Kreacher spoil him with good food. The elves updated his school wardrobe (quality muggle clothing and similar quality magical robes) and checked the various libraries for the books their wizard needed for his fifth year. He ignored the daily letters from Dumbledore and enjoyed the articles in the Daily Prophet from independent sources (not Fudge's office) that questioned the mental stability of the headmaster who seemed very distressed about the approaching school term.
For the first time since the Dementors swooped down on Privet Drive, Harry had the privacy to revise his mother's work on Magical Null Space and the spell she created to return the garbage dismissed in that place.
He looked forward to the ride on the Hogwarts Express!
