Juliet returns with the serum for Claire. Charlie is hesitant to let her use it on Claire since she is the one that did this to her. Jack insists to Charlies that he trusts her and if he trusts him. Charlie allows Jack to let Juliet touch Claire because he trusts her, and Jack reminds Juliet that if it doesn't work then there is nothing, he can do to protect her. Juliet injects Claire with the serum and Charlie stayed by her and Aaron's side until morning. Charlie slept next to her until morning and in the morning saw that her face was still very pale, and she coughed up blood saying weakly "Charlie I feel like I'm fading, I'm not trying to stay but losing".
Charlie pleaded "no, it should have worked, it should have healed you, you should be better. Aaron needs you; I need you".
Claire told him "it didn't work, I can feel it. I don't have a lot of time, let me hold Aaron before I go". Charlie picked up Aaron and laid him right next to Claire. Claire told Aaron "mummy loves you Aaron, she has to go away now but she'll always be with you. You'll be looked after daddy and everyone else here. They will care for you and protect you, grow up well my baby, stay as perfect as you are. Until we can be with each other again". Claire looked up at Charlie "Charlie please look after him, he is the most important thing in the world to me". She then said, "I trust you and I wish we had more time together because I was starting to fall in love with you". Claire closed her eyes and her grip on Aaron faded. Charlie began to cry over the loss of the woman he loved and who just died after saying she loved him and wanted him to look after Aaron.
Jack was coming over to check on Claire but knew something was very wrong, Charlie turned to look at him and said, "I trusted you Jack and now she dead because of her", with Charlie directing his gaze at Juliet on the beach.
Jack said, "I need to confirm, she might just be very ill".
Charlie exclaimed "she's dead Jack and you let the Other's kill her".
Jack responded, "take Aaron now because I need to make sure". Jack handed Aaron over to Charlie. Charlie held Aaron who was now scared by what happening around him. Jack checked on Claire status and Sun came round to see what was going on and when Jack was finished, he exclaimed "I'm sorry Charlie but she is dead".
Charlie angered "Jack, I trusted you, I trusted you to save her".
Aaron became louder and Sun interrupted them and said "Charlie, let me take Aaron for a while; go be with Hurley".
Charlie looked at Aaron and then Claire and told Sun "she wanted me, she trusts me to look after him".
Sun replies "and we will together and what's best for Aaron is for you to be with Hurley right now".
Charlie looked at Aaron and handed him over to Sun, she said "I'm sorry Charlie, this should not have happened, and we all know who is responsible".
Charlie left and found Hurley who was walking toward them wanting to know about Claire. Hurley sees Charlie condition and asks, "what's happened".
Charlie upset tells him "Claire's dead". Hurley is devastated by the news and hugs his friend Charlie. Sawyer watches them and knowing that it means Claire is dead and that Jack let the woman who killed her into their camp. Sawyer marches over to Jack and demands "what the hell happened doc".
Jack answers "Claire died Sawyer, she was sick, and she unfortunately died".
Sawyer responds, "yeah and the reason she is dead is because that woman on the beach killed her".
Jack replied, "I know but Juliet tried to save her".
Sawyer responded "because she did this to her in the first place. Then she comes and does something to her which kills her".
Jack retorts "she was trying to save Claire".
Sawyer responded, "she shouldn't have needed saving in the first place".
Jack responded, "Claire got sick because she was pregnant, they thought she would be okay; but she wasn't".
Sawyer retorted "says them, they lie easier then it is to breath. Remember Ethan or Ben who literally pretended to Henry Gale a Black man from Minesota".
Jack reminded him "they left her behind".
Sawyer retorted "maybe it was there plan all along because remember Ben let himself be captured and tortured just to get what he wanted".
Sawyer began to leave exclaiming "then let's what everyone thinks", he shouts "camp meeting, group meeting, everyone get your arses over here immediately. That includes you Juliet".
They all meet at the table and Sawyer exclaims "Claire is dead", most of the camp was in shock and turned to both Charlie and then to Sun who was holding Aaron. Sawyer then said, "that woman killed her, she took her and did this to her".
Jack tried to interject saying "Claire got sick because she was pregnant, not because of Juliet".
Sun immediately became nervous because she didn't want what happened to Claire happen to her. Juliet interrupted and said "okay, Jack I need to be honest because I have not been".
Sawyer exclaimed "what a surprise".
Juliet said, "I was sent here by Ben to see if any woman were pregnant and take them". Sun clutched her stomach as Juliet continued "they knew you wouldn't let me in; without something happening and me stopping it for you to trust me. Claire was that she was only sick because of the implant that we gave her. It made her sick, but I thought what I injected her with; would have save her, it should have saved her".
Charlie marched over and shouted "murderer" as he jumped on Juliet trying to strangle her. He was quickly pulled off by both Jin and Hurley who were now holding him back while
Sawyer said, "see doc, they cant be trusted, and Claire death is on your hands because you let this monster into our camp". Jack became silent and Sawyer continued "okay then since you've got nothing to say, I say let's take a vote".
Sayid asked, "a vote on what".
Sawyer responded, "a vote on whether we should kill Juliet or not".
Kate said, "you can't be serious asking us to vote on whether Juliet should die or not".
Sawyer stated "you heard her, she was sent here to test if any of us are pregnant, and we know Sun is. Most of you wanted me to be the leader while they were away, and I was but now they've returned. Claire is dead and it's because of the extra they returned with. So, I am because now I want everybody to realise that Aaron will wake up and cry for his mother, but she is not there, she will never be there because of her and her people so I do call for a vote". Nobody said anything and Sawyer called "a vote it is, all who say we shouldn't kill her". Jack raised his hand but was the only one. Sawyer then said, "all those who abstain". Kate, Rose, Bernard, and a few other camp members raise their hands. Sawyer then says, "all those in favour of killing the Other". Sawyer, Charlie, Jin, Sun, Hurley, Sayid, Desmond, and every other camp member. It was overwhelming the vote and Sawyer declared "there we have it, clear decision".
Juliet tried to flee but was tackled by Sayid, she begged "please, I don't like Ben, I was planning on betraying him, you have to believe me".
Sayid spat "we don't believe a word you say, all you do is murder".
Juliet pleaded "I was not completely lying about pregnant woman, if a woman gets pregnant on the island, she will get sick and die. That's why we took Claire; that's why we wanted pregnant woman because it was my job to try and save them".
Sun became nervous because she was unsure about whether she became pregnant on the island, and it was Jin's or it wasn't and was another man's. Sawyer said, "no more lies, how can an island make pregnant woman sick".
Juliet responded, "I don't know, we do not know but we are trying to save them because if we get pregnant; we die".
Sun interjected "do you know a way; you can tell how far along a pregnant woman is".
Juliet answered "yes, at the medical station".
Kate interrupted "were Claire was taken".
Juliet responded "yes, we have an ultrasound machine, it can tell us how far along a woman I s, are you".
Sawyer interrupted "don't answer her, and you shut up".
Sun pleaded "I need to know, Sawyer please".
Sawyer answered, "we are not letting her go, she will die".
Sun answered, "I'm not saying that; just wait until I know and then we kill her".
Sawyer agreed and the group of Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, Juliet, Jin, and Sun went to medical station with Charlie and Hurley looking after Aaron. The group made it to the medical station and Juliet accessed the secret room and informed them "this is where we perform tests on the woman, and that tape recorder over there is what I'm meant to record; so, Ben can know my progress
Sawyer exclaimed "to bad he aint going to get it".
Juliet performed an ultrasound on Sun, and they found out that she got pregnant on the island. Juliet exclaimed "sorry Sun but you will die, if you stay on this island any longer but if I inject you with the serum, you should stay alive".
Sawyer exclaimed "no chance in hell".
Jack said, "it might be the only way to save her".
Sawyer retorted "say that to Claire. Oh, wait you did and she's dead".
Jin told Sun "no, I will not lose you or our baby".
Sawyer exclaimed "this I can save you is just a trick to stay alive but it wont work because it didn't work, and Claire died".
Juliet explained "only because of the implant in her".
Sawyer retorted "but as you said, only women on the island but Claire got pregnant way before the island". Sawyer continued "the only way I see helping Sun is by getting her and the rest of us off this island".
Juliet pleaded "well that would save her but with Ben and his people"
Sawyer interrupted "you mean your people".
Juliet ignored him and continued "they will not let you leave this island and will come for you. This is the only way she could be saved if your plan doesn't work".
Sawyer said, "we'll figure something out and if Sun gets sick; then we'll consider using your serum because we are not injecting anything without being sure you're telling the truth".
Juliet pleaded "okay but she will, and it will be better if I inject her with it since I know this serum, I developed it".
Sawyer reminded her "and you got one of us killed. So, you won't, and you will still be killed".
Juliet relented seeing that nothing will change their minds, she really tried to save Claire, but it didn't work, and it could have been Ben's plan all along because his mind is just that sick. They returned to camp by sundown and saw Claire's body removed from her tent and place in a tarp near the graveyard. Charlie and Hurley were digging her grave; with Rose and Bernard looking after Aaron. Sawyer had taken Juliet far away from the rest of camp, he tied her to a tree and Juliet made one final plea "please James I can help, just don't kill me".
Sawyer remarked "you Other's should never had come after us", Sawyer shot her in the head. Sawyer placed her body right next to Ethan's because he believed it was the right spot to place her body after what she did to Claire. Claire's funeral began and after Charlie spoke, Jack didn't unlike usual because no one seemed to want to listen to him anymore, he who they all used to turn to; didn't anymore. Sawyer spoke in his place, and everyone realised that he was who they turned too, the man who had a stash, stole the guns, made everyone make deals with, the camps most hated was now the one they turned too. While Jack the doctor who has saved all of their lives more than once; was just someone that they didn't want to hear from. This was Jack's mistake, and he was paying for it. Hurley and Sun said a few nice words about Claire before she was laid in her grave and Sawyer, Charlie, and Hurley covered her up.
