"How are you two feeling?" Gibbs inquired of Tony and Ziva.
"I am fine Gibbs." Ziva said with a pinched look on her face.
"My head hurts a little, other than that I'm alright. What happened?" Tony asked as he rubbed his head.
"Not sure. All of us got knocked out. Colonel Reynolds woke me up. We check on you two and tried to contact McGee. No one answered so we went down there. Major Towen was slowly coming to, and he was the only one there."
"So now what? How do we find Probie?" Tony was starting to get agitated. First they couldn't conduct an investigation like normal, and now his best friend was missing.
"You do what you're trained to do Agent DiNozzo." Jack said walking up behind Gibbs. "You find those responsible, and make them pay." This was the first time anyone had seen Jack look so serious. He was in full general mode.
"No disrespect General, but we have nothing to go on." Tony said.
Jack walked up to and stood toe to toe with Tony and quietly but sternly said, "You have a brand new crime scene with one of my men lying there dead. I suggest you start there Agent DiNozzo." He never broke eye contact but tilted his head to address Gibbs, Jack said, "I'll be in touch in a few hours." Giving Tony one last glare Jack stiffly walked back to his car. Tony didn't breath until the car was out of sight.
"That wasn't your smartest moment Tony." Ziva said rolling her eyes.
"Come on, we have a crime scene to process." Gibbs said leading the way down the ally.
Two hours later everyone was back at their desks, except Gibbs. Physical evidence was with Abby, and the body of Sergeant Abrams was in autopsy with Ducky. Each person in the bull pen was subdued, as they searched yet again, through the files. Looking for anything they may have missed the first hundred times. Ziva glanced across the room and noticed Tony looking at McGee's desk. Feeling that he was being watched he looked her way. She raised her eyebrow, asking if he was alright. Tony just sighed and nodded back, then went back to the file in his hands.
Seeing the exchange, Towen said quietly, "We will find them."
"Yeah? How?" Tony responded sarcastically.
"Don't know yet. But Doctor J always gets into scraps like this and comes out of them.. somewhat ok."
"Somewhat ok?" Ziva asked.
"He has a tendency to help others before himself, so he seems to bear the brunt of it. But he always comes home. No matter what." Reynolds answered.
"He will this time too." Towen said looking at Tony, "He's not going to let anything happen to Tim. They will both come back."
"Okay." Tony said. He wasn't sure if he believed them, but they seemed sure of themselves, so he let it rest.
Gibbs was making his rounds. He first stopped off at Ducky's. "What you got Duck?"
"I haven't nearly finished yet Jethro, but my preliminary findings suggest the poor Sergeant here died the same way our fellow Marines did. Every cut and injury is the same."
"Great." Gibbs sighed.
"Perhaps Abigail will have been able to find a lead this time." Ducky said hopefully.
"I hope so Duck. But these.. people, whoever they are.. They knew we were coming."
"Jethro you can't blame yourself. What happened to Timothy and Daniel was not your fault."
"No? I knew something wasn't right. I should have taken more precautions."
"Like what, may I ask? From what I heard from Anthony, you did all you could with the information you had."
"Still wasn't enough. Now we have two more men missing. They took one of mine. Whoever they are, they aren't going to get away with it." Gibbs stated determinedly, as he left autopsy.
"Well my dear Sergeant, I dare say Jethro will bring your murderers to justice. Don't you worry. Now, lets have a better look at you and see if you can help in any way, shall we?"
Upon entering the Lab all was silent. Gibbs saw Abby standing at the computer staring at a photo. As he came up behind her he saw it was of her, Sarah, Tim, and Daniel. He took a guess that it was from the other night at the restaurant they all went to. Abby turned around, throwing her arms around his neck. He hugged her back tightly as he whispered in her ear, "We'll find them Abs. We'll get them back."
"Promise they'll come home alive Gibbs. I don't want them coming home only to be downstairs with Ducky." Abby cried into his shoulder.
"I'll do my best Abs, you know that. But I also need you too. Have you found anything new?" Gibbs asked as Abby pulled herself away and wiped her tears. She turned to the computer as she answered.
"No. There is absolutely nothing. Granted I've only been able to go through about half of what you brought back so you'll have to give me a little more time."
"Time's not really on our side right now Abs. Do your best." Gibbs said as he kissed her cheek.
"I'll try." Abby whispered to herself as Gibbs left.
As Nine PM on Tuesday rolled around Gibbs came down from the Directors office. "Everyone, go home. Get some rest. Be back here Seven AM sharp."
"What Boss.. Gibbs.. Are you.. Why.. kidding.." Tony and Ziva tried to talk at the same time.
"Hey!" Gibbs barked. "We've been here since Sunday. We all need a proper nights sleep. Hopefully in the morning we'll have a different perspective on it. Besides, the Director just informed me we will be getting some more help."
"Who?" Tony asked.
"You'll see tomorrow." Gibbs said. Tony could tell his Boss wasn't very happy with the decision that apparently was made without his opinion, so he didn't say any more. Then Gibbs turned to the two Marines who had stayed to help. "Do you two have someplace to stay? I have room if you need it."
Smiling Colonel Reynolds answered, "Thank you Agent Gibbs, but we have a place."
"Kinda scared to stay there, but yeah." Towen muttered under his breath. Only Gibbs heard and raised an eyebrow in question.
"We're staying with the General. Think he want's to keep us where he can see us. He said to call when we were ready to leave."
"Good." Gibbs said with a knowing smile. "I'll see you tomorrow then."
"We'll be here."
"Alright pack it up. Go get some sleep. It's going to be a long day tomorrow."
And with that the remaining members headed home. Thoughts on their missing friends and how they were ever going to be able to find them, and bring them home.
A/N: Wow. Didn't think I'd get that out so fast. Let me know what ya'll thought! Please and thank you's! Next we'll be seeing Tim and Daniel. Not sure when that will be though, just so you know. Thanks for sticking with me!
