Hello friends! Apparently I never posted this even though I wrote it over a year ago? Anyways this is set around when Ace is joining the crew and getting his crew tattoo. Not sure how many people caught it but I changed Ace's character design ever so slightly to give him more tattoos. Basically tattoos supposedly had several different meanings for pirates and so Ace being a true pirate I decided to give him more tattoos. Anyways enjoy!

"Alright so tattoos." Izo said the second I walked into his cabin.

I paused and blinked before saying, "Uh yeah I heard you were the person to talk to."

"For the most part I am. If you want something that is super detailed or intricate then you'll have to find an expert on an island. But for more simple stuff I can help you out. I won't even charge you anything."

"Seriously? That's great, thanks man."

"Consider it a welcome to the family present." He said. "So what are we doing?"

"I want to get the crew jolly roger on my back."

"Just the flag?"

"Yeah? What else would I get?"

He shrugged and said, "A lot of pirates get tattoos for milestones in their travels. You really don't know about them?"

"Am I supposed to?"

"Huh, I guess not but I'm just surprised you made it this far without learning about them."

"Been a little preoccupied to go around asking random pirates I come across to ask them what their tattoos are for."

"Fair enough."

"But what are they? Might as well get as many as possible right? If they're like bragging rights."

"Don't know how many bragging rights they'll score you. Any random person could get any tattoo so it's not all that important. But it's still a way for some people to flaunt how far their travels have taken them."

"Yup, I want to flaunt. Give me all of them."

"Well I can't give you all of them since you're still just a rookie kid. But let's see here… A whale for crossing Reverse Mountain, a turtle for making it through Paradise, a mermaid for Fishman Island, a sparrow for every 5,000 miles sailed, and an anchor, because every sailor needs one. Do you want me to keep going?"

"How about I say I trust you and you just do whatever you want and give me one for everything I've done so far? Just make sure that Pop's mark is in the center and nothing is covering it."

"Works for me. You want me to leave space for more later on or just cover your whole back now?"

"Leave some space. I'm going to need all the space I have for all the things I'm going to do before I die. Oh and one more thing. Can you give the mermaid blue hair?"

He raised an eyebrow and smirked but didn't say anything. I felt my face start to heat up as I sputtered and said, "It's not for any reason or because of anyone. I just like the color alright?"

"I didn't say anything. If you want to get a tattoo of your ex-girlfriend in the guise of a mermaid, that's your business."

"I said it wasn't because of her!"

"Alright, alright, fine. But I'll need some time to draw up designs and everything so that'll give you time to think of a better excuse on that one."

"I don't need a better-"

"Out!"
