Catra leans off the edge of the ship as she feels a bout of nausea come up, at this point she didn't know if it was motion sickness or morning sickness from the pregnancy. She sighs, her head lying to the side. Shadow Weaver knew that she was pregnant, thanks to the old man, yet somehow, the dark lady couldn't fathom that Adora could be the other parent. She let out a small chuckle, "Stupid Weaver", she mumbled.
Yet, deep down she was worried now that Shadow Weaver knew. Would she try to make Catra terminate the baby or….? Her thoughts were interrupted by a wave of nausea, making her lift her neck again to the edge of the ship to throw up. She grumbled, laying her head in her arm. Just looking at the other Horde boats bobbing in the sea next to her, make her stomach twist, "Ugh, stupid boa—"
"BOATS!" Scorpia screamed, smelling the air and looking at the other ships, "Oh, I love boats. Don't you?!". A gust of wind blew against their faces, making Scorpia smile and Catra nauseous. "The wind in your hair…" Catra groaned as she listened. "Ocean on every side, miles and miles from nearest dry land…" Catra groaned even harder as Scorpia continued speaking, "Watery death awaiting at the slightest mishap… Man…" A wave of water splashed over and hit Catra on the face, causing her to let out a squeak as Scorpia finished, "That's what I call living."
A nauseated Catra glared at Scorpia, "Yeah, I'm going to need you to shut up."
Scorpia gave her a concerned look when she saw just how pale the girl was, "Aw, are you sea sick? Or is it pregnancy sick?"
Catra covered Scorpia's mouth quickly as she looked around for the other Horde soldiers, only seeing Kyle, Rogelio, and Lonnie, who were too busy to be listening. Nobody knew about her imposition; she was not yet ready for them to know, "Shut up! Don't be saying unnecessary things out loud like that!"
The white-haired girl's eyes water before she pushed Catra's hands away and lifted her up into a tight hug. "Oh no! I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were keeping it a secret, you are so brave plus feeling so sick! You know what, just focus on me, okay? It will help with your nausea."
Grunting and struggling, Catra pushed her away, "Put me down!". She wriggled out of Scorpia's grasp, "What is wrong with you!?". Striding away angrily, she looked over at Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio who were staring at her, "What are you looking at?! Get back to doing boat things!"
The trio quickly scrambled away as they didn't want to get on the bad side of an angry Catra especially in such close quarters.
Looking down from the top of the ship, Catra narrowed her eyes at Kyle who was scouting ahead of the ship using a telescope. The boat had completely stopped and she didn't understand why. Quickly, she leaped down, perching atop of Kyle and scarring him half to death.
"Why have we stopped?" she questioned.
"The sea gate is blocking our path…. There's no way to pass, force captain Catra."
"What?" She grabbed the telescope from Kyle, making him yelp before she leaped off of his shoulders and landed on the bow railing, "Leave it to Shadow Weaver to just not mention there is a giant gate blocking our path to Seaworthy!"
Scorpia walked up from behind her, "Wait didn't you learn about the Salinea's Sea Gate from the force captain orientation?"
Catra raised an eyebrow "There's a force captain orientation?"
"Oho" Scorpia chuckles, "Yes, there is!"
Groaning, Catra rolled her eyes, of course there's an orientation. She stared at the Horde soldiers just standing around before lashing her tail, "All hands-on deck! We are finding a way through that gate!"
Scorpia clapped, seemingly enthralled by Catra, "Wow, impressive captain yell."
The Horde crew paused for a while, waiting for an opening, looking for the right time to attack the gate at Seaworthy. Catra peered through the telescope, waiting for something. She didn't know why but she had this feeling that Adora would appear any minute. She felt that somebody's presence next to her, making her look up.
Scorpia stood next to Catra, a small drink in her hand and a bottle of vitamins. While on her tail hung what Catra could only guess is food, "You've been working none stop, wildcat." She smiled as she passes the drink and the pill to Catra, "Don't skip your medicine for little kitty and I also brought some tuna for you. Keep healthy." She finished, giving her a wide smile.
'Little kitty, wildcat?' She thought, her nose wrinkling in disgust, "Don't call me—us that"
"Yeah, yeah." Scorpia said waving her claw at Catra, her eyes sparkling at how cute Catra looked with her nose wrinkled, "Whatever you say, wildcat."
Catra let a small sigh leave her lips, taking the vitamins and a small bite of the tuna, before looking out through the telescope again. But this time looking at the sea gate, her eyes widened as she saw Adora transform into She-Ra and point her sword at the gate.
"Scorpia, prepare to go full speed at the gate, it's time." Catra smiled.
Nodding, Scorpia signaled the other soldiers to get ready as the ship moved forward at full force. Scorpia gets behind the cannon and starts shooting at the gate. This made Catra let out a laugh.
As the ship got closer Catra could see She-Ra better and also the people around her. The ship's cannon creates a hole in the gate, shocking the tall woman. This was her opportunity; she could tell that Adora could not move away from where she was standing.
Looking at Scorpia, Catra screamed, "Keep us going at full speed, I've got something more important to do!" And with that, she ran off, leaving Scorpia yelling after her.
Catra leapt upward towards the gate, she could just barely see Adora's back. As she got closer, a shot from the cannon breaks through the gate, shocking the tall blond woman who starts kneeling in pain. Taking this moment as an advantage she leapt toward She-Ra who blocked her, pushing her away.
Catra chuckles, "You know, the tiara looks more ridiculous the longer I look at it."
She-Ra's eyes widen before glaring at the girl next to her. She pointed the sword back at the gate to recharge it. "Catra… How did you find me?", she screams in pain while another shot bursts through the gate.
Catra lunges forward, attacking again, leading with her claws. She gets pushed back, but not before managing to rip the fabric clinging to She-Ra's chest. "Did you really think it would be that easy to escape the Horde? I mean I always knew you were kind of dumb but…" Catra leapt toward She-Ra, the tall woman deflecting her claws with her sword.
"What's your plan, insult me till I rejoin the Horde?"
Catra chuckled, "I don't think Shadow Weaver is planning to give you much of a choice. But yes, something like that…" She claws toward She-Ra, again the girl avoiding her attack with her sword. Catra being the agile and nimble feline that she was, flew through the air landing a kick to She-Ra and leaping away as another cannon took a shot at the gate.
Hearing how the blond screamed in pain from the shock, made Catra feel a mixed sensation. Her cramps began coming at full force, making her bend forward, almost in half.
"Catra!"
She could hear She-Ra screaming her name in what she thought sounded like concern. Even as enemies, Adora still had a way to get under her skin, she crossed her hands over her stomach, a maniac laugh escaping her throat. Looking up she saw She-Ra's eyes staring back at her with concern. Catra glared at her in return. Her tone became taunting, as she pushed through the pain and gestured toward the badge, "Check it out, looks like with you gone, I got promoted."
The blond scowled at her, all signs of concern leaving her eyes, "Congratulations."
"Seems like only yesterday this is the thing you wanted the most and now you're-" Catra pointed at She-Ra's body, while letting out a disgusted noise, "Come on Adora, hasn't this gone on long enough?" She watched as another cannon bullet went through the gate, making She-Ra kneel in pain.
Rushing closer, Catra laid a hand on Adora's cheek, the bright blue eyes looking at her with concern and what she could see was a hint was love. "I miss you Adora", she choked out softly, tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
"Catra…." Adora whispered, every resolve in her body breaking down. She wanted nothing more but to hug and kiss the feline in front of her. But before she could let those feelings take over, she heard the wailing of people as the gates continued to fail.
Pushing Catra away, Adora stood up, "I told you before, Catra." she annunciated her words "I am. Not. Going. Back."
The wave of pain gripped Catra, making her grunt. She leapt forward, putting She-Ra in a choke hold before clawing at her back, making her scream out in pain. Adora grabbed Catra, trying to push her away but the agile girl avoided her, instead grabbing her by the head and looking into her eyes, "This is what you left me for? Dress-up games and a light show?" she screamed. Tears now falling from her eyes, "I thought you loved me; I thought you would never leave!"
Adora's own eyes widened, mirroring the pain reflected in Catra's. "Catra…." Adora whimpered, her eyes starting to water. She loved Catra but she had a responsibility as She-Ra and right now her and Catra were on opposite sides.
Catra pressed her forehead on Adora's, maybe if she told her about the baby Adora would finally come back to her. "Adora" she whispered, feeling the blond freeze, "I'm pr-". But before she could finish her words, she felt a wave of water crash into her pushing her away from Adora and throwing her over the edge of the platform they were standing on.
"ADORA!" Catra screamed, as she extended her hand toward Adora, who stood by the edge looking down at her. She watched as She-Ra clenched her eyes shut before turning toward the gate, resuming her stance with her sword. "I'm pregnant…." Catra whispered, retracting the hand she had extended and holding it tight to her chest. She frowned, a seed of hatred poisoning her already empty heart. She braced herself for impact as she closed her eyes.
Before she could hit the water something grabbed onto her, she opened her eyes expecting Adora. But her hope was shattered when she saw Scorpia, who held her close, "This was dangerous Catra, you are in no condition to fight!" Scorpia said with worry, her face looking panicked when she saw Catra wince and hold her stomach. "Catra!"
Catra winced once more, "I'm fine!" she whimpered "I'm fine…" her eyes pricked with water again. She closed them tightly, but she could still feel the tears rolling down her cheek. "I'm fine", she whispered.
Noticing that it was not the time to speak, Scorpia held Catra tightly. They made their way back to the Horde ship.
