"The Morton House?"
"Yes."
"The frigging Morton House!"
"Yes Dean." Sam looked at his brother across the hotel room.
The room was nicer than where the generally stayed. Dean was wearing the hotel branded dressing gown and slippers. "The Grand Canyon of hauntings?" he grinned again.
"Looks like it." Sam sighed. He knew what was coming. Even before Dean shrugged off the dressing gown. Thankfully he was wearing his boxers underneath. "Pack your stuff Sammy. We gotta go"
Dexter was letting himself into the room. He had a box of donuts and a bag of knives.
"Go? Thought we were hunting and loading up on carbs?" Dex frowned. "Maybe not in that order." He dropped the knife bag on a table at the door and opened the donut box.
The older brother was already heading to his bag, sorting through for clothes. "Morton House Sammy"
"Morton House?" Dex asked.
"Can you stop saying Morton House." Sam looked into the box. Grabbed the biggest one. "Dean. We have bigger fish."
"There's fishing? I have a boat"
"Way to say something bigger than a haunted house that has been sealed off."
"Morton House. Two days drive. Three till it goes off. Bucket list!"
"We are not talking bucket list. There is a solution. Its just..."
"Just an impossible task? C'mon. It's a job. Saving people" Dean found a t-shirt and one sock.
"Hunting things. I know. We need to do the research." Sam shook is head, that was his sock. He had the other in his duffel.
"Geek"
"Bitch"
"Hit the road in the morning. Hit the books. Dig a nest of ghouls out tonight"
Deborah flashed her badge at the Reception desk. "I'm going to need a key card for whatever room Dexter Morgan is in. Right now"
"Can I see that ID again. Please Ma'am"
"I'm a police officer and I need that card now"
"I'm trying to help. But you are not really dressed like police generally dress. Ma'am. We aren't a rent by the hour sort of hotel, if you catch my meaning."
"God damn jobsworth"
"I think we are done"
"Wait wait. I've had a long day. Vice. Undercover. Of course you can see my ID again. Phone the station. They will vouched for me. Sir, please. I'm trying to stop him doing something stupid."
She passed her ID to him and tried to look like the photo
He looked carefully between the two images.
"The number for the station is right there. You can call it. I just need to get up there and do my thing."
