The ride over to the ESD central offices could be summed up as two genuinely good conversational ice breakers met with dead silence as Izuku sat between two officers who were sitting with their weapons being quickly modified to be shorter on the barrel and stock to combat the tight quarters of the armored SUV. Everything that the ESD did genuinely impressed Midoriya as they never seemed to leave anything to chance regarding combating the possible dangers out to hurt anybody and everybody.
Arriving at the new central command center since his last visit back as a UA student left Izuku a bit speechless. Replacing the once already impressive building was now a black monolith the size of a city which dwarfed the infamous I-Island by miles.
Passing through the several security checkpoints leading up to the building didn't bring the damn thing any closer for over fifteen minutes. Izuku actually lost sight of the top of the building from the back seat some time before actually pulling up to the command center for the ESD.
Pulling up to the front of command, Izuku was escorted with at least four officers who greeted him at the door before they started to form a defensive perimeter around him. Wherever he moved these officers dutifully followed him without having to turn all that much. Whoever trained these men to move so accurately with their charge needed some sort of metal as the SUV that dropped him off pulled away to god knows where while he approached the doors that were also quite high for how little of the front of the building they took up. An underline on a standard piece of paper could be compared to how little the ratio was, despite the fact that Izuku needed to tilt his head up quite a bit in order to center his gaze at the top of it.
"... Damn."
His escorts didn't seem all that concerned how quickly he moved, so he started approaching the building.
"Ikki?"
Turning around at the familiar voice revealed to him the woman that was his first love. She too was surrounded by a perimeter of officers on four sides.
"Mina! What are you doing here?"
Husband and wife greeted each other with a meaningful kiss before they broke apart to allow Mina to respond to her husband.
"The reps told me to come with them back to their base of operations! Considering that she pulled me close, I was sure she was trying to flirt… Not that I minded, since she was so hot…"
Something that Mina and Izuku understood was how Mina flirted with other women. Izuku disclosed that as long as she came home to bed with him, he thought that her attraction to other beautiful women was one of the hottest things about her. His desires were something he contended with as he didn't know how she would respond to the fact her own husband liked it when she had fun with other women. She responded by dragging him and fifteen of their wives into a bedroom and fucking for three days straight. The crime rate bumped a bit, but things went along as expected without their immediate involvement.
"Mr. and Mrs. Midoriya?"
Out of the ether was another young woman who wore a white blouse with long sleeves with the same pencil skirt the other representatives wore paired with a sunny disposition and a bob cut of cute blonde hair.
"Please follow me to your next appointment."
First thing that Mina notices was how Izuku's and her own escorts now formed a perimeter of eight ESD officers all walking in tandem with their charges. This both freaked out and impressed the couple walking arm in arm as Mina hugged her husband's right arm as they approached what was likely the most secure place in the world.
Twelve Minutes Later
"Enjoy your tea!"
That same bubbly young woman left Izuku and Mina to their devices inside of a luxurious office with all the fixings of a futuristic elite class person of interest. Still, it felt homely enough with cheap shelving units and dollar store stationary in the cup holder as Mina casually began exploring the room to her heart's content.
On the other hand, Izuku found himself studying every detail of Mina as she was studying on one of the shelves filled with books of interesting titles. She yanked out one title called 'Cooking Needs Your Flavor: The SPICY Edition from the shelf and casually perused the contents before becoming interested in the book's outlandish contents.
Her hips were something of a medical miracle. This specimen of a woman wore a costume that was reflective of her growth as a hero by making her uniform a heavy scarlet over her former pink leopard print drove this red-blooded man insane with her body. Those built in high heels were less of her making a statement of her sexuality and more of a fact that she knew how to move in heels over being flat footed. Something that came with years of dancing with the one she was now married to in their mutual unbreakable love. Mina also loved the way her outfit compressed her figure without crushing her tits, as she described. The acid heroine had her entire shoulders exposed with her arms and hands covered in durable red sleeves that were resistant to her quirk. Seeing her body exposed from the cleavage upwards never made Izuku jealous, though the memory burned into his subconscious began to change that perspective.
Without warning, Mina felt the familiar embrace of her lover from behind. Izuku couldn't be more recognizable after years of hugging her like that. Giggles escaped her chest after she relaxed into his embrace.
Betraying Izuku were the recollections of his strange dreams up till now. While Mina embraced her emotions, the thing that stood next to her in his dreams kept taunting him.
Not feeling Izuku begin to ravage her body alerted Mina to the fact that Izuku was dealing with something serious. Her ability to count the days that Izuku or the others didn't make love to her was a mental calendar that the others in their relationship found mystifying. Everybody needed her attention and Mina made her effort in giving her wives the love they deserved. It just usually ended with them spooning her as they fell asleep in the bed. They knew she loved them so much. Giving her what she needed was the least they could do for the one who loved them as much as their husband did.
Nothing could tear them apart.
"Ikki, what's wrong?"
He came to with the sight of his wife cradling his face in her hands as her husband came to. Her golden eyes were his El Dorado. If he ever were to lose her, the consequences of the loss would leave the world a smoldering pile of slag under his wrath. The dark surrounded those golden pools he couldn't surrender. Those eyes ignited the deepest of passions within him when he stared into them.
"I love you."
Hearing him say that as though it was the last time he could ever tell her left Mina a bit stunned for a moment. This man loved her more than life itself and he looked as though she was going to vanish right before his eyes. All she could do was embrace him and bury her face in the crook of his neck. She didn't know why, but letting him hold her seemed to be the one thing he needed from her at that moment.
The sound of the door opening from behind Izuku made both heroes realize that perhaps hugging wasn't exactly professional in this situation. They reluctantly separated and turned their attention to the woman entering her office.
"I apologize for the delay. We had a meeting and discussions for our next steps stretched on for longer than expected."
Dressed in her ESD formal uniform, a sharply dressed woman in black military nines strutted in with the confidence that a woman of her command naturally possessed. She removed her officer's cap and placed her hat upon her desk. Mina was quicker to greet the woman with accolades of her achievements pinned to the front of her jacket while Izuku followed his wife while still in deep thought.
"No worries. We just got here anyway. You look good, Kaina."
Having her hair dyed a dark shade of chestnut was necessary for the now high ranking officer within the ESD. She no longer could go back to her old life before the incident and now lived under the alias of Ina Sasaki. She wasn't obligated to undergo plastic surgery since she rarely made public appearances and the systems that would have detected her face as Kaina were all regulated by the government institutions.
Both women embraced warmly for several seconds before breaking apart and taking a seat at Kaina's desk. Izuku just followed suit and decided it best to put his concerns on the backburner for the time being.
"So, what's up? You needed to see us regarding an urgent matter?"
Kaina responded to Mina's inquiry by leaning over to her desk and interacting with the slick black surface that doubled as an interface. Holographic displays hovered in front of the woman as she scrolled through multiple windows to find the information she needed to show these heroes.
"We've acquired some intel regarding our possible terrorist group. There were some things that our lower level information network picked up on that didn't seem all that suspicious at first glance, but we traced the lead back to a possible connection to somebody we are considering a likely suspect."
This was perhaps the greatest lead that the heroes and public safety could have stumbled across. Putting a face to the threat would help them make some headways through this daunting investigation. First thing that Kaina presented to Mina and Izuku was some sort of publication or book that neither of them recognized.
"We managed to stumble into this when we were sifting through possible channels of communication online. It doesn't seem like much, but I think you two need to see for yourselves what's in it."
Two holographic displays popped into existence in front of both Mina and Izuku. They focused on the text scrolling on their displays and found what they read to be a bit disturbing.
"... Look not upon the idols of man, for their faith is one of blind pursuit. Place thy faith in the one that shall reward your dedication to his message."
Izuku saw the entry to be a bit sacreligious to say the least. Mina's wasn't that much better in comparison either.
"The lord of man is naught but an illusion that shackles the weak to the lies of the wicked. Shed all your doubts of these weaknesses and know that the true lord and savior shall walk besides you to the truth… What the hell is this? Is this some sort of text for some cult?"
Her distaste for this seemingly outlandish religious scripture made it seem as though everything she read came from some crazy guy scribbling so-called prophecies into his bedroom walls from her cynical perspective. Her husband couldn't help but think the same as everything he read just came off as mad ramblings thinking that some imaginary friend was the real god or something similar.
"We've traced these texts to multiple message boards across Japan and have found a significant amount of people sharing this with others online as well as printings of said pages. It seems that the ones this doctrine had been targeting were vulnerable people wherever they could be. Who wouldn't want to be welcomed into a place where they could see their dedication to something bigger than themselves be rewarded?"
There was also the bigger question of what this work was alluding to regarding the faith that it wanted people to redirect. Who was it that was to be the one worthy to be worshiped as the one true god over already established monotheistic religious institutions all around the globe? Neither Midoriya couldn't stop themselves from wondering how the ESD knew of the number of physical copies that were out in the wild. That sort of information didn't seem possible to obtain without some serious violations into the public's personal matters.
More data began to show up on Mina's and Izuku's displays as Kaina provided more evidence regarding the unknown investigation from the public. Records of prisoners who demonstrated religious extremism over the past decade were listed with the most obvious of criminals being removed from the list as Kaina spoke.
"The wording of this doctrine is direct. It doesn't allude to faith as other manifesto's or self published religious texts in the past. Emphasis on 'the one true lord and savior' are usually indicative of a prophet or leader that speaks for the god they serve. Nothing of the sort exists within it. Hundreds of pages were analyzed and nothing but the direct worship of this new deity hinted at a religious figure to act as a leader for them. In fact, it almost seems as if this 'god' of theirs is real enough for them to interact with in some way or another…"
Hearing that piece of intel left both heroes extremely uncomfortable. In the past, Humarise had brought together a real threat that almost claimed the lives of thousands, if not millions, of innocent civilians. That was a cause that they sold to the public. To have something as a god for people to serve spelled out all sorts of potential crazy that this new cult could have at their disposal.
Seeing the list become smaller and smaller, Mina asked the most prevalent question between her and Izuku. Something that they wanted answered.
"But why us? Why are we the only two that you brought in for this intel?"
The look in Kaina's color-contacted eyes was heavy. Her gaze pierced both Midoriya's seated across the desk from her as she leaned her chin onto her left hand which was perched on the arm of her leather bound desk chair.
"Because you two were the ones who brought him in the last time he was here."
As if she timed it, the final candidate left on the screen was pulled up as a full criminal profile with a picture of their face. Neither could believe what they were seeing as that face wasn't something they ever expected to see ever again. What was once considered a forgettable encounter now became the one who was now possibly responsible for creating another incident that could rival that of All for One when he tried to usurp control of the country.
People were scared. Fear did things to the populace that this man wanted to be the savior from.
