(The next morning, Flurrie woke up and yawned and stretched, then she exited the room and went in the kitchen, but noticed that something strange is going on)
FLURRIE:
Huh, that's weird? Nobody's there!
(Mario, Goombella, and Flavio entered the kitchen)
MARIO:
Hey, why the mama-mia is the kitchen empty?
FLURRIE:
I was asking the same thing, darling!
GOOMBELLA:
Dude, it's 8:30 in the morning!
MARIO:
I'm gonna ask the engineer what's going on!
(Mario and Flavio hurriedly went up to the engineer)
MARIO:
Excuse me, sir, but the whole kitchen is empty!
TOAD ENGINEER:
Empty, you say? But, it's 8:30 in the morning!
MARIO:
I know, but they're still not here, which is strange…
(Mario noticed a smorg slowly sliding down the windshield)
MARIO:
Wait, what…? Is that a…?!
(More smorgs covered the windshield which startled the engineer)
TOAD ENGINEER:
Those are smorgs!!! I can't see where I'm going! Mario, please go find the other passengers!
MARIO:
Pennington!
(Mario and Flavio ran all the way to where the conductor was, but he's also gone)
FLAVIO:
The conductor's gone, too!
(Mario quickly ran up to cabin six)
MARIO:
Pennington, we need your help right now!
(There was no answer)
MARIO:
Pennington?
KOOPS:
I think he's gone, too!
MARIO:
What!? Alright! I'm-a gonna bust down this door!
(Mario opened the door and saw a bunch of smorgs)
MARIO:
What the!?
GOOMBELLA:
Not again!
BOBBERY:
I'll take care of this!
(Bobbery walked up to the smorgs and exploded which caused them to flee out of the train)
TOAD CONDUCTOR:
Mario!? Thank goodness you saved us!
MARIO:
It was actually Bobbery that saved your butts!
TOADETTE WAITRESS:
He does have a point… thanks, Bobbery!
BOBBERY:
The pleasure's all mine!
KOOPS:
I think it's not over yet!
EGGY:
We gotta get out of here!
(They all got outside the train, got on top and saw a huge infestation of smorgs)
GOOMBELLA:
That is disgusting! Wait, that are they doing?
(Mario took a closer look and saw the smorgs forming together to create one giant smorg monster)
MARIO:
A smorg monster!
(The smorg monster roared at Mario, and saw the passengers being held hostage)
KOOPS:
And it's got all the passengers!
MARIO:
Oh, that monsters asking for it, Koops! One smorg extermination, coming right up!
(Mario wielded his hammer)
PENNINGTON:
Luigi, save us!
(Mario whacked one of it's "tentacles," and dropped Pennington as Flurrie caught him before he could fall off)
MARIO:
Koops, you're up!
(Koops hid in his shell as Mario grabbed his shell and tossed it at another tentacle which dropped the family of Bob-ombs and Flurrie caught them right on time)
MARIO:
Hi five, little buddy!
(Mario and Koops hi-fived)
KOOPS:
Yeah!
MARIO:
You too, Bobbery! You just gotta explode as I throw you to that last tentacle!
(Mario grabbed Bobbery and threw him at the only remaining tentacle. The explosion made the tentacle drop Toodles, but she was caught by Flurrie. Now, all the tentacles are gone. Eggy came up with a couple of eggs and threw them at the monster)
EGGY:
Take this you monster!
(The monster shrunk)
MARIO:
Had enough, monster!?
(The monster roared in a high pitched voice as Vivian finished it off with her fire abilities which caused the monster to burn into ashes)
VIVIAN:
There we go! Problem solved!
(Koops ran up and gave her a bear hug which made her giggle)
KOOPS:
Ha ha! That's my girl, Viv!
VIVIAN:
Aww.
(Koops and Vivian eventually let go and she kissed him on the cheek which made him blush and everybody just stared at them)
EGGY:
Did you just…!?
(Later, everybody was back on the train safe and sound)
TOAD CONDUCTOR:
Whoo, I gotta thank you, Mario! And everybody else too! We'll eventually arrive at Mobotropolis!
PENNINGTON:
Yes, I can't wait to get off this train!
(The engineer spoke through the megaphones)
TOAD ENGINEER:
Attention, all passengers! We are now arriving at Mobotropolis! Please take your belongings with you and we hope you enjoyed the Excess Express!
MARIO:
Well, this "Excess Express" was a freaking nightmare! We should've had that Chaos Emerald by now!
PENNINGTON:
Chaos… Emerald?
(The train finally arrived right where it was before Mario and crew had to get on the train. Mario and co. finally got out)
MARIO:
Alright, Goombella, where's Queen Aleena's palace?
GOOMBELLA:
It should be… I see it! There! That big palace in the distance!
MARIO:
Huh? Yes! Thank you, Goombella! Come on, we're so close!
(Meanwhile, Queen Aleena was spending time with her kids, when the Oracle of Delphius approached her)
ORACLE:
Your Highness, there is a man named Mario that's approaching your palace.
SONIC:
Mario!?
ALEENA:
Thank you for letting me know, sir! We'll be out there shortly to greet him!
(Mario and his allies finally made it to the palace)
MARIO:
Finally, after three days! This Chaos Emerald is ours!
GUARD #1:
So! Back you came after three days on that train!
MARIO:
Look, I just wanna…
(But Mario was interrupted by the sound of loud opening)
ALEENA:
Welcome to Mobotropolis!
MARIO:
Your Majesty!
(Mario took off his cap and placed it upon his chest)
MARIO:
Ahem! I'm actually here to grab a magical diamond that fell somewhere inside your palace!
ALEENA:
Is that it?
MARIO:
Yes, ma'am.
GOOMBELLA:
Some red echidna guy wants Mario to collect all seven of the Chaos Emeralds, and he's only got five!
ALEENA:
Chaos Emeralds? Magical Diamond?
SONIA:
Actually, we do have one sitting somewhere in her throne room!
MARIO:
Whoa, that's nice! Where is this throne room?
ALEENA:
Follow me! All of you!
GOOMBELLA:
Finally, we're getting somewhere!
(Mario and co. followed the hedgehogs inside the palace)
MARIO:
Hey, Sonic, what's up?
SONIC:
What up, Mario.
MARIO:
Just out collecting Chaos Emeralds!
SONIC:
That's nice.
MANIC:
Hi Mario, I'm Manic!
SONIA:
And I'm Sonia!
SONIC:
These are my siblings in case if you're wondering.
MARIO:
Well, it's nice to meet you, guys!
ALEENA:
Right here!
(Mario witnessed Beldam, Marilyn, Doopliss, and Randall attempting to steal the golden Chaos Emerald that was sitting in the middle of the throne room)
BELDAM:
Mwee hee hee hee heeee! You're too late, Mario! The Chaos Emerald is ours!
MARILYN:
Yeah! It's ours forever!
DOOPLISS:
Come on, sisters! Let's get out of here!
BELDAM:
That's right, my faithful brother who's so much better than my dumb sister, Vivian!
RANDALL:
What about Viv…?
BELDAM:
Forget her for now!
(They all left, and Mario was devastated)
VIVIAN:
Beldam makes me so mad!
MARIO:
They took it! We gotta go after them right now!
ALEENA:
Not so fast, Mario!
MARIO:
You're okay about this!?
ALEENA:
Here, let me explain: that Chaos Emerald that those witches stole was actually fake!
MARIO:
Fake!? Wh-Where's the real one, then?
ALEENA:
I've hid it down under the palace where nobody can ever go there!
SONIA:
But there is a secret passage that we'll let you go through.
(Aleena opened the secret door in her throne and pushed a button which moved the throne to reveal a hidden tunnel)
ALEENA:
Good luck, Mario!
MANIC:
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and grab another diamond and place it in the stand.
(Mario and co. finally entered the tunnel and saw the real golden Chaos Emerald just sitting there on a pillow like the fake one. Mario walked slowly until he made it and grabbed the emerald in his possession and stashed it in his overalls. They made it back up to the throne room where they saw Manic placing another fake emerald on that pillow)
MARIO:
Okay, We've finally got the real Chaos Emerald and we're gonna be heading out of here.
ALEENA:
Goodbye, Mario. Good luck on your quest.
MARIO:
Thank you.
SONIA:
It was nice meeting you, Mario!
MANIC:
Yeah, take care!
SONIC:
Mario!
(Mario and Sonic hi-fived)
SONIC:
Later, Mario!
MARIO:
Later, Sonic!
