Stitched Kitsune: Chapter 29
Chunin exam arena: With Hinata
"Begin" Genma shouted before jumping back leaving Hinata and Shikamaru alone in the arena.
Hinata was looking at Shikamaru using her Byakugan hidden under her helmet; she was looking at his chakra flow to see any fluctuations. Hinata not wanting to give Shikamaru an opportunity to strike first hit the seal on her wrist bringing out her bow and an arrow.
Hinata fired a single arrow towards Shikamaru and Shikamaru quickly took out a kunai; Shikamaru blocked the arrow cutting it in half before throwing it towards Hinata. Hinata simply side stepped and grabbed the kunai; however Hinata realized that the kunai had a sizzling explosive tag on it.
Hinata threw it back towards Shikamaru who caught it making Hinata go wide eyed 'what is he doing' Hinata thought; the tag was still lit but did not explode as Shikamaru simple took it off, crumpled it and threw it to the ground.
'She's a long range fighter' Shikamaru analyzed 'that bow shoots about fifty percent faster than an average ninja can throw a kunai; looks like i have two options'. 'Fight her at close range or possess her with my shadow' Shikamaru thought 'I'll try with my shadow first'.
Shikamaru made a hand sign 'Shadow possession jutsu'; Shikamaru's shadow show out towards Hinata who began to run off to Shikamaru's left. Shikamaru turned and followed Hinata in order to properly aim his jutsu.
'I can't let him capture me' Hinata thought as she touched her seal and produced 2 more arrows 'I have to keep him moving'. Hinata fired one arrow at Shikamaru who dodged in place still keeping his feet planted and his hand sign up and proper; Hinata fired her second arrow towards Shikamaru who got ready to dodge.
Suddenly the arrow exploded about 10 feet away from Shikamaru; Hinata adjusted the fuse in the arrow so the arrow doesn't kill him. However the concussive force of the explosion and the blinding light stunned Shikamaru and Hinata rushed in.
'I have an opening now' Hinata thought as she closed the distance; Hinata put up her bow and clenched her fists and getting ready to engage in taijutsu. But before she could engage Shikamaru, Hinata had to jumped away as Shikamaru's shadow began to go after her once more.
Hinata jumped away until Shikamaru's shadow stopped several feet away; Hinata looked on as Shikamaru got back up 'damn it, I thought i had her' he thought as he got back to his feet. Shikamaru came up with a plan to capture Mie when she got close to him; now he was back to square one. 'I've used up a decent amount of chakra… what a drag' Shikamaru thought.
With Naruto, Haku and Sakura
"Damn he nearly got her" Naruto said looking down in the arena "this guy is good"; Choji who was beside him nodded.
"Shikamaru may not be the strongest in terms of power; but he's a great strategist " Choji said as he munched on his chips "he took an I.Q test and got over 200". Both Haku and Sakura looked on shocked but Naruto closed his eyes and rubbed the back of his head.
"Uhhh… what's an I.Q and is 200 like good" Naruto asked and Sakura smacked her forehead.
"I.Q means 'intelligence quotient' meaning how smart you are; and two-hundred is extremely high" Sakura said dumbing it down for Naruto.
"Oh… i get it now; thanks Sakura" Naruto said "I bet you got a high I.Q too, probably like… one-hundred or something"; Sakura sweat dropped at this but smiled.
"T-thanks Niku"Sakura said 'take the complement Sakura… he means well'.
Haku shook her head at Naruto's attempt to complement Sakura 'I swear, besides fighting he is a total dunce' Haku thought 'but i guess that's one reason i love him'. Haku smiled at this and looked over to Naruto "you're very special" she said and Naruto smiled at this.
Back with Hinata
Hinata looked at Shikamaru and was weighing her options and brought out her bow once more and took out a fire arrow; Hinata fired her arrow towards Shikamaru who dodged out of the way as the arrow hit the ground and lit the ground where Shikamaru just was on fire.
Shikamaru took out several shuriken and threw them at Hinata who dodged as the shuriken flew past her and into the stadium wall; Hinata ran and began using the 'wall walking' jutsu int order to stick to the walls and began to run at her full speed.
Hinata took out another regular arrow and fired it towards Shikamaru who dodged and took out several kunai with explosive notes attached to them. Shikamaru began to throw the kunai but not at Hinata but in front of her; when the kunai hit the walls and detonated the wall began to crack and crumble with pieces to the ground.
Hinata's grasp on the wall began to slip as the uneven surface of the wall made her jutsu less effective; Hinata jumped off the wall and landed in a crouch while taking out 2 more arrows. Hinata fired another arrow at Shikamaru who dodged to his left avoiding the first arrow; however he was then knocked to the ground as the second arrow buried itself in his calve.
Shikamaru winced at the arrow in his calve but didn't give up as he took out more kunai and shuriken and threw them at Hinata who took out a kunai herself. Hinata proceeded to knock the small volley of weapons out of the air and loaded her bow once more
Hinata began to pull back her bow string ready to fire another arrow but stopped as he body seized 'I can't move' Hinata thought in fear.
"Shadow possession complete" Shikamaru said as he stood up with a limp.
"H-how did you get me" Hinata said and Shikamaru groaned.
"I used the rubble from the wall and the weapons you knocked out of the air to extend my shadow" Shikamaru said "take a look for yourself". Shikamaru allowed Hinata to move her head and she looked down and saw that Shikamaru's shadow was stretching to it's limit as it was connecting to several larger pieces of debris and a kunai that was only a foot away from Hinata.
'I played right into his hand' Hinata thought as she looked at Shikamaru who looked bored despite the arrow in his leg.
"Since my shadow was too slow to reach you I just had to find a way capture you when you thought you were out of range" Shikamaru said "alright then; now to end this". Hinata got scared as Shikamaru began to limp forward and Hinata began to limp forward as well.
'Please don't take off my helmet' Hinata thought in worry as she stopped in front of Shikamaru who raised up his hand 'here it comes'.
"I give up" Shikamaru said shocking everyone in the crowd "i used up too much chakra; also i have an arrow in my leg, if i continue i will only hurt myself more". Shikamaru canceled his jutsu and began to limp away from a stunned Hinata "you did ok; just work on your strategy next time" he said 'what a drag; Asuma and Ino are not going to let me hear the end of this'.
Hinata was stunned but nodded at the advise "t-thank you" she said; Gemma came down to the arena and spoke.
"Winner by Forfeit; Mie" Genma said and the crowd began to clap at the fight.
With Anko and Kurenai
"Wow looks like you're lazy ass genin is worth a damn" Anko said looking at Asuma "he's lucky that girl wasn't trying to kill him; if she was he would've been done for". "Looks like you haven't rubbed off on him too much" Anko said.
Asuma scoffed "Shikamaru knows when to get serious; besides he may have lost the match but he won the battle" he said.
"I agree" Kurenai said "while his drive isn't great his intelligence and strategy is impressive; he would make a good chunin".
With Naruto, Haku and Sakura
"Heck yeah Shikamaru; you did great buddy" Choji cheered "man that was an interesting fight; not as bloody as yours but still entertaining".
"Yeah it was good; Mie may have won but that Shikamaru did an awesome job" Naruto said; unseen by everyone Naruto's stitches went back into his body and Haku but away a senbon she took out.
'That was close' Haku thought 'if he took off Hinata's helmet than we would've been exposed'. 'Good thing he quit; otherwise we'd be fighting our way out of here right now' Haku thought.
A few second later Hinata entered the box with her head down "I'm sorry; even thought i won i should've done better" Hinata said to Naruto and Haku.
"Hey no problem" Naruto said walking up and patting her shoulder "you'll do better next time; you nearly had him".
"A win is a win" Haku said with a smile "just enjoy the fact that you are moving onto the next round"; Hinata feeling the support perked up and nodded.
"Thank you both" Hinata said "I really appreciate it".
With Orochimaru
"A fight of wits and strategy rather than one of brute force and blood" Orochimaru said to Hiruzen "I must say that Nara is quite brilliant if somewhat lazy".
"He gets it from his father" Hiruzen said 'damn Nara's… to lazy even to win'.
Orochimaru looked to his right and saw alone anbu wearing a black cloak on the top of the roof of the stadium 'it's almost time' Orochimaru thought 'time to give the signal'. Orochimaru pressed a switch hidden in his cloths sending a signal out.
With Naruto, Hinata, Haku and Sakura
Naruto was leaning on the rail when a beeping noise went off in his pocket "huh" Naruto said as he reached in and pulled out a digital watch "damn alarm; how do i turn you off".
"You have a watch Niku" Sakura asked in curiosity "why don't you wear it on your wrist".
"It get uncomfortable after a while" Naruto said pressing a button and stopping the beeping"i need to go to the restroom; be right back". Naruto began to walk out of the box and looked both ways 'looks like it's game time Fox; are you ready' Naruto said in his mind.
"Yes I am" The Kyuubi said "I've waited a long time for this".
Down in the arena
"Ok everyone; time for the Fourth Match" Genma said as the board began to run through the names once more before stopping on 2 names "can Kin Tsuchi and Temari come down". Kin and Temari were both about to walk down but stopped when they saw someone walk into the arena.
"Niku? What are you doing down here" Genma asked confused "you're not fighting for another few matches".
"Yeah I know" Naruto said as he extended his fist towards Genma blind siding him and sending him skidding across the dusty ground "but I'm not here for that". Naruto turned and looked at the massive crowd "PEOPLE OF KONOHA; I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE" Naruto shouted gaining everyone's attention.
"MY NAME IS NOT NIKU" Naruto began as he made a hand sign; Naruto's hair changed color back to his golden blonde "MY REAL NAME IS NARUTO UZUMAKI; FORMER RESIDENT OF KONOHA AND CONTAINER OF THE NINE TAILED FOX". Naruto reached to his face and tore off the fake skin covering his whisker birth marks.
Immediately upon saying this the crowd began to shout vulgar obscenities at Naruto "He's back" "The Damn demon is back" "Why couldn't you stay dead" people shouted in a confusing mess.
Hiruzen was looking on wide eyed at the revelation 'He was here the entire time; Konoha's lost weapon' he thought "ANBU; surround him" he shouted. Suddenly a dozen anbu jumped into the arena surrounding Naruto "Naruto Uzumaki; stand down and surrender at once" Hiruzen shouted as he stood up "or we will kill you where you stand".
Naruto looked up to the Kage booth "I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE" Naruto shouted; the anbu were about to go in and kill him but were stopped when 4 figures landed on Naruto sides.
Hinata, Dosu, Kin and Zaku were in a square formation around Naruto keeping the anbu from coming closer "You want him; you have to go through us" Dosu said as he raised his sleeve revealing his gauntlet while Hinata took out her bow, Zaku pointed his arms towards the anbu and Kin took out some senbon "get on with it kid".
"Thanks" Naruto said "NOW THEN, FOR TIME FOR THE MAIN EVENT; LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO A VERY SPECIAL GUEST" Naruto made a hand sign and began to focus his chakra. Naruto's stitched began to glow red and his whole body began to become covered in a strange red chakra. Naruto began to scream in agony as all his chakra went to one of his hearts; Naruto fell to his knees as the heart began to exit his body.
Everyone in the stadium looked on at the horror show Naruto was putting on and people were all having various reactions.
Sakura held her hand to her mouth in horror at what she was seeing 'N-Niku… what's going on' she thought in fear.
'Kami above' Kakashi thought as his hand hovered over his kunai holster 'it's back, the demon that killed Sensei'. 'No matter what happens I'll kill that thing; for you sensei' Kakashi thought as he raised up his forehead protector revealing his sharingan.
'This chakra; don't tell me…' Hiruzen thought as he looked down in horror 'He's crazy; he wouldn't dare release it… would he'.
"Gaaaaaah" Naruto shouted as his heart forcefully launched out of his chest and landed in a pile of messy threads; Naruto fell to the ground as he clutched his bleeding wound "our deal is complete" he said to the pile of threads. "You have an three hours Fox; enjoy it while it lasts" Naruto said in between pained breaths.
"That's all I need" The pile of threads said as it began to take shape; is started by rising up on all fours as it's long claws dug into the earth as 9 small tails began to sway behind it the body formed into a long and sleek body as the threads continued to take shape.
The head was the last thing to form as it took the shape of a fox with 2 long ears, 2 slitted red eyes and a smile full of fangs; the creature only stood at 4 feet tall but had a aura of death and destruction that resonated throughout the arena.
"Filth of Konoha" the Kyuubi said in a demonic and menacing voice "you're day of retribution is here, I have been your slave for nearly eighty years; now it's time to pay". "I am the Kyuubi no Yoko" The Kyuubi said "and I… am… back".
The Kyuubi unleashed a monstrous roar that shook the ground and nearly burst the ear drums of everyone in the arena; everyone looked on in horror except for Orochimaru who was smirking under his disguise.
"Shall we get started then" Orochimaru said no longer using his disguised voice; Hiruzen looked at him in disbelief as he recognized the voice "Sarutobi sensei". The kage box went up in an explosion covering the entire area in smoke; the whole arena went up into a panic as shinobi struggled to their feet to fight and the civilians attempted to run away.
Naruto got to one knee as the arena went up into pandemonium as screaming filled the air; the Kyuubi began to dash towards the stands at full speed while the sound of battle began to erupt from around the village. The invasion of Konoha has begun.
