The city was bad. Blood lined the streets. Cars were set aflame everywhere and those horrible smelling decaying people were stumbling around. Jill was leading them to an old smelling building. It was huge. Entering the Church as Peyton called it Rhodie reacts first snarling at a man who appears out of the shadows holding a gun towards Jill, Peyton and Terri. Hearing the growls the man looks down at him ready to fire if he so much as flinches.

But it's not Rhodie who moves first. No Jill strikes first grabbing the man's arm holding the gun and ripping it out of his grasp throwing it towards Peyton who stumbles the catch but keeps hold of it. Jill then twists the man's arm around and slams him up against the nearest wall. "Threaten my dog again and I will shove this pistol down your throat and make you choke on it." She softly but very scarily tells the man who whimpers in her grasp. "Do you understand."

"Ye... ye... Yes..." The man stutters out.

Jill releases her grip on him. "Well ok then." She turns back to Peyton who is giving her an unimpressed look. "What." She shrugs as his gaze doesn't waver. Forcing her to roll her eyes. "Come on now Sarge you know I won't tolerate any threats towards Alice or Rhodie."

He barks in joy moving forward and nuzzling up against Jill's leg. He, Jill and Alice are a great team. He just wishes Alice was here.

Jill moves to lean against one of the benches pulling out a cigarette as he sits down in front of her watching the other three humans. Peyton breaks the silence first. "We should figure out a plan on what to do next."

"What can we do," Terri asks holding that camera up as everyone takes a seat around him and Jill making a little circle. Jill absently starts stroking his head as she listens.

Peyton mulls over the question. "We should find somewhere to wait this thing out. Somewhere with the thickest walls and strongest doors."

"What is this thing. What is happening out there." Terri asks.

Jill lets out a puff of the smoke. The smell tickling his nose in an unpleasant way, but he has grown used to the smell since both Alice and Jill smoke. "Umbrella created something. A virus or something and it got out. It infected everyone and turned them into those things out there. Manic flesh eating creeps."

Terri and the other man turn to him and Jill curiously. "How do you know this."

Jill hesitates a look of sadness passing over her face before she buries it by taking another puff. "My girlfriend was working for Umbrella," Jill admits. "She was trying to expose the sick experiments they were doing... Until she disappeared." Jill looks off into the distance.

Rhodie whines at the reminder that Alice is gone. It sounds like the bad men from the bridge did something to her. He doesn't like that. He wants Alice back. His cries pick up in volume and Jill turns her attention back to him patting the spot on the bench next to her to which he hops up on and rests his head on her lap.

"I know boy. I miss her too." Jill tells him laying a gentle kiss on the top of his head. She then turns back to Terri. "I tried to look into what happened and stumbled upon some of those things in the woods outside the city. I put three rounds into one of those things bodies and it kept coming. Only a bullet through the brain stopped it." She then scoffs to herself. "Of course, Umbrella quickly moved in to cover up what happened and tried to pay me to be silent on the matter. When that didn't work, they got me suspended from the police department." Jill turns to look at Peyton. "Do you think the others believe me now."

Peyton shifts uneasily under her gaze. "You know I believed you, Valentine. And a few others did. But..." He trails off not sure how to finish that.

Luckily Jill does. "But Umbrella was paying them more to keep whatever happened quiet. And now we find ourselves here." Peyton goes to argue with her. "Don't." She warns him. "Don't defend them. They just took Umbrella's money and now hundreds are dead. This is on them."

Peyton nods accepting her words. "I am sorry about Alice," Peyton mutters making Jill grit her teeth. "But we need to figure out what to do next. Throwing blame around isn't helping anyone."

Terri pipes in again. "Do you think we're safe here."

As if the world heard her question there was a distant clanging noise that him jumping up and glaring into the darkness with Jill drawing her gun. When he doesn't hear or see anything else he relaxes his body a bit more but is still on guard.

Jill turns to the man who was already here. "Were you here alone."

"I... uhm. I thought I was." He admits looking between Jill and the area from where sound came from.

Jill and Peyton exchange a look. "We'll check it out." Jill volunteers tapping his shoulder and he jumps off on the bench and slowly heads towards the noise. Jill at his side gun poised and ready.

"Be careful." Peytons calls to them making Jill chuckle under her breath.

They exit out through the back door and investigate down one of the hallways. Jill checking everything room they come across. It's not until they reach the final door in the hallway that he smells it. That rotting odour again. That smell means danger.

He growls at the door in warning. Earning a quiet good boy from Jill. She slowly opens the door, and they sneak inside. A woman with a pungent odour sits in front of a fire. Which is strange given how hot is outside. Why would you need a fire. He bares his teeth ready to attack if needed.

To the side, he hears movement and before Jill can react, he turns and barks loudly as a man appears stumbling in his steps as Rhodie makes hackles rise. Jill points her gun at him. "What is going on here," Jill demands keeping him and the woman in her line of sight as she backs away from him to get a better look at the woman.

"This is my church. What are you doing here." The man responds nerves growing the closer Jill gets to the foul smelling woman.

Jill takes another step back and almost trips on something. Looking down both he and Jill are met with the sight of a severed arm. Jill glares venomously turns towards the man and strides in front of the woman who has flesh lining her teeth as she hisses battling the restraints holding her in place. "You're feeding her." More body parts litter the ground.

"Please she's sick." The man pleads. "Just leave us alone. We're not hurting anyone."

Those words infuriate Jill. "Not hurting anyone. I think the person you have chopped up and feeding her would argue differently."

"Please just leave us alone." The man tries instead.

Jill looks between him and the woman. "I should kill both of you for this." The man steps closer but stops when Rhodie jumps in front of Jill hunched over and teeth blaring at him. "But I'm not interested in killing humans." Jill continues then turns to point her gun at the woman who manages to break free of her restraints the wire holding her down slicing through her hand as she reaches for Jill.

The man darts forward as well but is meant by an angry Rhodie who tackles and pins him to the ground his teeth inches away from his throat. A gunshot is heard behind him followed by the sound of a body dropping. A second later Jill appears by his side. She stokes a hand down his spine telling him to get off the man who she then grabs and begins dragging back to where the others are gathered.

He shouts at her but Jill ignores him telling him to shut up and that Peyton will deal with him. He follows behind her when a new scent catches his attention. It has the same rotting smell but is different. He lingers a bit looking from where the scent is coming from but it's all around him. It's faint. Like it's old.

Jill calls his name, and he runs to catch up with her. The scent growing smaller the further away he walks from it.
