King Titanium walked into a large dark room. It had a large crystal in the middle of it with a few holographic screens. A few of his tribes observed them while one of them took notes of the observations.

There was a screen with a map of the world as they knew it. There was a red dot away from Perim. He knew it was Chaotic location as it stood at the top of an immense mountain.

"How are the progression going Observers?" the king asked.

One of the observers replied, "We can still get the link with the Scanner of Peyton. We know when he ports in and out. We cannot get any file when he leaves Perim. It seems like our program cannot pull this off for now."

Another added, "Still, we can still observe his in and out when he sends his Code to Perim."

"Any idea when we can circumvent this problem?" Titanium asked as he glanced at them.

"We are working on it. However, when he ports out at the wrong time, everything we worked for the day is lost. We slowed down and improved the program for a few hours. The length he usually stays in Chaotic," a third one replied with a bored tone in his voice. He sighed, "Still, in a few days, we will get answers."

A creature entered in the room and bowed down, "My King. Rhodium came back and he has some bad news to report."

"I will make my way immediately," the king replied as he turned around and left the room.

The Observers glanced at each other's. One eventually grumbled, "I hope it's not about them again."

Chapter 8: The Codemasters Call

Meanwhile, Tom, Sarah and Peyton were in the Port Court and talked together.

"We still got nothing about Kaz. Where is he?" Sarah grunted frustratedly. She glanced at them, "I asked my brother and he is also looking for him or any clue. He might call once he got something."

"It's nice that he is helping," Peyton cheerfully said. He sounded a bit forceful.

"I'm glad you decided to accept Theb-Saar suggestion," the girl nodded, "We don't need someone else to act like Tom last year," she glanced at her boyfriend with a small smile on her face.

"Will you stop about that already," Tom glanced at the side. He frowned, "I wish we already found Kaz already. I'm worried for him."

"How's it going on Earth bro?" Peyton asked curiously.

"Okay. The new students are a bit less creepy now, but they are still looking at our every move," he sighed, "That cult is really getting on my nerves. Police can't do anything about it. They just know much more about Chaotic and Perim than I expected. None of them are Chaotic Players," he put his hands on the table.

"Do you think Kaz is in a less known spot in Underworld City?" the portly boy suggested. He scratched his neck, "I mean… None of you would wouldn't think he would be there."

"You think he might be somewhere in Underworld City?" Sarah asked in disbelief.

"I mean, Chaor and the others are searching everywhere outside of the city. Maybe you should check in the city. Maybe there is a clue," he went on his suggestion with just a little bit of certainty.

"Won't hurt to try," Tom nodded.

The group decided what their next course of action would be. They'll let Chaor and his army searched outsider of the city for now. Even if the chance that Kaz might be in Underworld city was slim, they had to take it.

A floating robot came to them, "Codemaster Imthor wished to see you immediately."

"What?" the three asked a bit confused.

"I am not allowed to explain the reason. I can only say that you are not in trouble. Contact Kazdan and follow me," the machine asked.

"We can't. Kaz disappeared and no one can find him," Sarah grunted in annoyance. She wondered why the Codemasters didn't know about this.

"The Codemasters aren't aware of his disappearance," the robot replied, "Nevertheless, you must come with me immediately then."

"Let's go," Tom decided before his girlfriend decided to protest a bit more. The three stood up and followed the machine.

They left the Port Court and walked into the corridor that led towards the Codemasters. They didn't go there for a long time now. The robot stopped in front of a door and it opened on its own.

"Come in. It is a matter of secrecy," Imthor said.

The three walked into the room and saw the Codemaster who turned his back at them. He watched a holographic screen.

The three came in and sat on three of the four chairs reserved for them.

"How come you don't know Kaz disappeared?" Sarah asked curiously.

"We are once again in Code green. We have no right to spy on you or watch you. Everything is fully confidential once again. Unless another possible invasion of Chaotic came, we won't spy on anyone. Because, some of us might try to use it to cheat in their Codemaster matches."

They all thought of at least one Codemaster who might think of that.

"Anyway, why did you call us compudude?" Peyton asked.

"Compu- Never mind," Imthor sighed as he put his hand over his golden helmet with three spikes on it. He watched them with his green eyes while he adjusted his gray and black robe. His golden gauntlet tapped on the table, "I called you for an important reason. Crellan told me that you are being watched by some creepy weirdos. We were ordered to not say anything in the matter, but we Codemasters… We believe that you need to have this knowledge. We can't afford to wait until it is too late to act this time," he looked at the three. His fingers crossed together, "What I am going to tell you is strictly confidential. Any words of this cannot be shared out of this room. Not even back on Earth. I am putting my existence on the line to tell you that."

"We won't," the three humans replied. They glanced at each other's a bit nervously. They knew how serious it was.

The Codemaster put his left arm on the table and his right one scratched his neck, "Let me think of how to better explain this. This is a complicate matter," he put his right arm on the table, "I do not know everything that is going on, mind you. I just know a few things. I will begin by a question and you will see where I am going. How was the location of Chaotic made?"

The three looked at each other's. They never thought of that.

"You built it before the game began of course bro," Peyton replied with a smile on his face.

"Of course. How much did we built and how much already existed?" Imthor asked.

Now that made them a bit confused.

Tom tried an answer, "I guess pretty much everything. Maybe not the portal that bring them to Earth. I mean, you used things that were made in Perim to build it."

The Codemaster answered him, "Good. Pretty much the entire underground section was made before we came. However, many things were added for security and also for the Codemasters movement underground. The surface, it was all manmade."

That didn't surprise them that much. They knew most of it was the case. They wondered where the Codemaster was going with this.

Sarah asked, "Can you get to the point?"

"One last question that will get to that point. How did we know of this location? How did humans know of this place?"

Now that question was one, they couldn't answer. The three teenagers never asked themselves how Chaotic came to be. They knew the why. It was in preparation for the day Perim and Earth entered in regular contact, which was the case now.

"Dude… Find an ancient map or something?" Peyton tried.

Imthor nodded negatively to this question. He replied the same way to the others the group have. He decided to give them the answer, "Humans who knew of its existence gave it to us. In exchange of a few things in return."

"Who knew about this place? The government?" Sarah asked.

"No. They didn't know anything about it until they brought it up. With the card game showing up, they had a feeling that we will reach the point we are today soon enough. They explained everything to Michel and Annette, the existence of Chaotic and Perim, what to do with it and also some ancient technology humanity used to have," the Codemaster explained.

"Ancient… Technology?" Tom asked.

"The Codes, the floating robots and the drome for a few examples. It is far more advance than you can imagine. I cannot explain how humanity lost this technology, so don't ask in the matter."

Sarah grumbled, "And who is this 'they' you are talking about anyway?"

"Are they aliens?" Peyton suggested a bit comically.

"Not… This is the main reason that everything I'm telling you is a secret. They came out of the shadow recently. It's the group that you call a cult."

"The cult!" Tom yelled before his friends followed.

"Those weirdos? How?" Sarah asked confused about this revelation. She looked at the Codemaster and waited for his answer.

Imthor went on, "Yes. They are known as the Guardian of the Old Age."

"What kind of name is that?" Peyton asked. He wiggled his fingers, "Sounds ominous and weird. Why did they call themselves that?"

"No idea. Anyway, they are those who possesses the knowledge of Perim and Chaotic. It seemed they have it for a long time and didn't share it until Chaotic was founded," he put his hands on the table, "They cannot be underestimated. We Codemasters have no idea what their intentions are. It might be for the best or not. They decided to show themselves very recently and we learned about them from Michel and Annette when we asked many times about it. You can thank Hotekk for annoying them until we get the answer."

"So, we have people who knew about Perim for a long time. This is so weird," Sarah sighed.

Tom remembered something, "Remember the Elementalist? They know about us and where we came from long before the other tribes. Tera Motus told me about how they had old tablets with creatures and humans together. His tribe made sure that the two worlds wouldn't come together anymore."

"I forgot about that dude. Yeah. If they knew humans long ago, maybe those weirdos at the cult are the same as them," Peyton suggested.

The teenage girl sighed, "Except that those Guardians helped our two worlds to become what it is now. Doesn't explain why they are watching us," she tapped her fingers on the table.

"I have no idea in the matter. I told you everything I know," the Codemaster concluded as he put his hands together. He observed the three humans, "I still suggest to be careful."

"Thanks for the tip, bro," Peyton said.

"I just decided to take the initiative," he replied.

"Can you help us finding Kaz?" Sarah tried.

"We can't do something like that anymore. We cannot find the location as long as we are in code green. If we were in code yellow, we could."

"Is there a code red?" Tom curiously asked.

"Yes. We were in a code red, but we never announced it. It began when the M'arrillians showed up at Chaotic. Anyway, this is everything I have. If those guys still bothered you, you can tell me about it. Remember that all of this stays between us. It can only be spoken about in this room. Once we leave, not a word in the matter. When Kaz is safe and sound, I will explain everything to him. I will also ask what happened to him."

"I have something to say compubuddy," Peyton scratched his neck nervously.

"Yes?"

"It's about the creature that kidnapped me. Sarah got a bit of a clue and maybe it's best to tell you now," the brown-haired boy said.

He began to explain his disappearance once again and with Sarah, what they found out.

AC: This is the end of this chapter.
